March 18th 2020 – Undeserved Priviledge

“It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you-unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.” (1 Corinthians 15:2)

I cannot picture a more beautiful thing than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Fallen humanity stands before God covered in filthy garments stained with sins. We desperately try to wipe off each stain but in the process, we only make it worse. All hope seems lost until the God of all creation, in the perfect act of love, comes down among us. He removes our filthy sin stained garments and they are nailed to the cross… along with Himself. We didn’t deserve it. We didn’t do anything to earn it. It was simply the act of a loving God.

“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.” (Romans 5:1-2)

Now if we believe in what Jesus did and stand in faith, we can be granted forgiveness and everlasting life. This undeserved privilege is given by grace from a God who desires that none should ever perish. Even as we walk this life with Christ, we will stumble and fall, but we can confidently stand back up understanding that His grace covers all our sins. Are you in this place of undeserved privilege? If so, then rejoice in Christ and share Him with others. If not, then come to Him now and find rest for your soul.

“We receive forgiveness only by grace. We stand or continue in our faith only by grace.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I know that I have sinned, and I thank You for the forgiveness offered through Jesus. Because of Your grace, I am able to live in a place of undeserved privilege. Thank You for the assurance that my sins are forgiven once I confessed them to you in repentance. Help me understand and recognize when I do sin sin. Draw me close to You for forgiveness and strenght from those areas of my life. Grow my desire to share Your love, Your forgiveness with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have you ever asked Jesus into your life? Would you like to have a personal relationship with Him? That is the ultimate decision you will have to make. Jesus died on the cross for you and me. March 13th 2020 – God, I Got This On My Own

“And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, ‘Peace to you!’ Then He said to Thomas, ‘Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.’” (John 20:26-27)

We have all heard the comments, “get it together,” “straighten up,” or the ever classic, “as the good book says, the Lord helps them that help themselves.” Eventually, we heard it enough that we believed it. First, I have read the good book from cover to cover several times and let me assure you, it does not say that. Second, the Lord helps those that ask for His help.

If you are still determined to make it on your own, or get yourself cleaned up, or fly right or that you can fix the problem, whatever term you want to use, the Lord will let you try. The moment you realize you need the Lord’s help, He will be there to help, though not when you are over the trial, but while you are in the trial. To think that He comes to us after we get through the tough stuff is to paint Him as a fair weather friend. Beloved of God, it is you that the Lord longs to walk with through the storms of life. Call out to Him right where you are, just as you are and He will become even more real to you. The Lord loves you enough to take you just as you are, and thankfully He loves you too much to let you stay that way.

“Jesus will come to us right where we are and as we are.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I’ve tried it my way and my way doesn’t work. I need Your help in my life. Whatever things I’m trying to do on my own outside of You, I completely surrender to You. Please help me. Thank You for being the here for me always. Forgive me for not listening to You when I have heard the answer to my situation many times. Forgive me for choosing my way over Yours. I confess that am just a sinner and do not know more then You Lord. Please strenthing my faith and trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 21st 2020 – But, God!

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),” (Ephesians 2:4-5)

Two of the most important words in the entire Bible are “But God.” You and I were dead in our sins and trespasses… but God.rescued us.

Linda was an alcoholic and Steve was a heroin addict… but God… Charles was dying, but God… healed him.  The world needs to hear these words… but God. When I read local and world news, it becomes evident that this world is a complete mess… but God.

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

We have to step out of our comfort zones and tell people one on one about Jesus. We have to get Bibles into the hands of those who don’t have them or who have never even seen one. We have to show the love of Jesus by bringing the Good News to those who have lost hope, to those who are living in the mess that has been made of this world. What mess have you made? God is in the business of fixing messes. God will break through the situation if you’ll allow Him. Maybe you know this. Too often we keep this to ourselves when we should be telling others.

“God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father Thank You for sending Your only Son to die for my sins. Please forgive me for times when I have selfishly kept the light of the Gospel to myself and please give me the courage and desire to tell others about the reason for my hope, which is Jesus. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

June 8th 2019 – Foolish? Offensive?

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18)

There are many websites, books, movies and other things portraying the message of the cross as foolish. People pursue legal action to remove the cross and its meaning. Why? Because the cross offends those who do not want to hear the message. Jesus Christ came and died for our sins, and that’s offensive?! Yes, we are all sinners. “Well, that is just so judgmental.” No,  it’s the truth. People don’t want to hear it. Jesus and the cross demand that we admit our failings. We cannot admit we are sinners and yet cling to our pride.

Pride feels so good, doesn’t it? “Look at me. I am a self-made man. Come and be amazed by my shiny pride.” No, unfortunately you are an incomplete and malfunctioning created being without Jesus in your heart. In spite of your pride, He stands knocking and waiting for you to open the door and ask Him in. It’s an incredibly simple plan that requires an incredibly simple response of child-like faith and a King David sized heart of boldness.

“The fact people think we are foolish is evidence that they are perishing.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for the invitation of the cross. I know my sins have separated me from You, Lord. I ask that You forgive me of all of my sins. Give me the power to live for You all the days of my life. Thank You that You have made my relationship with You so simple. In humble faith, I give You my weaknesses and flaws and ask that Your glory be revealed in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

April 24th 2019 – Keep Looking Up

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:28)

Each week our world seems to brace for some kind of new disaster. Whether it’s bombings, mass shootings, political insanity, hate and murder. We experience regularly the evidence of this fallen world. To the unbeliever, these events bring uncertainty and fear. After all, if this world is all there is and it’s clearly unpredictable and broken, how can they know what to do? Yet to a follower of Christ, we look at these things from a different perspective…a biblical perspective.

Jesus told us that we would have tribulations. The Bible is very clear that because of sin, this world has been corrupted and therefore, we will experience its effects. But that is not the final word. Yes, this world is broken. Yes, we have natural disasters and horrific events like we witness more often in recent years. Yes, these things will increase as we get closer to the end. BUT, it will end.

When we see these things happen, look up. When you witness the suffering around the world, look up. When you experience the loss of a loved one, look up. When you see people and governments turning against God, look up, because your redemption is near. In the end, Jesus will stop it all. He will make all things right and heal this broken world. Until then, we look up and proclaim to this broken and beat up world the peace they can find in Jesus. Sin caused these problems. Jesus will solve them.

“No matter what the future holds, we can know WHO holds the future.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your grace on my life and the peace I can have through Jesus. Father, help me to trust You in every situation, no matter how hard it may be. Each time I see or experience the pain of this broken world, help me to look up and be reminded of Your return. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

March 31st 2019 – Toxic Unforgiveness

You forgave the guilt of your people – yes, you covered all their sins. .” (Psalm 85:2)

After a recent conversation with an Assist Attorney general. I was curious and did some research on attorney’s in general. I discovered something that I did not know about the country I live in (United States of America). Not only do we have more laws, we also have more people on probation or in prison, and more mariages ending in divorce then any other country.

We also are the most litigious society on the face of the earth, with about 80 percent of the world’s attorneys living in here in the US. More people graduate from law school than from any other professional academic course of study in the entire nation. And what do attorneys do? They Sue and Defend, for the most part, because there is no forgiveness. We’re not willing to say, “It’s all right. I forgive you.” The Justice system doesn’t even forgive a person have served the sentences imposed and paid their dept in full.

And what is really toxic is our unwillingness to accept responsibility for our own actions and our unwillingness to forgive. It’s worse than toxic; it’s sinful. Let this not be said of us, God’s people! Unforgiveness will eat you up spiritually and, in many ways, bring your spiritual life to a standstill.

Unforgiveness is choosing to hate. It produces bitterness, anger, rage, anxiety, and even depression. Simply put, it is sin.

Instead, we must forgive. Forgiveness, on the other hand, is like taking a piece of pottery and smashing it into a thousand pieces. There is no way it can ever be put together again.

God is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving kindness and truth, and forgiving of iniquity, transgressions and sin.(see Exodus 34:6-7). That is our God! He forgives.

You might say, “What my spouse did to me is unforgivable. Even if God forgives them, I’m just a person. I’m flawed. I can’t forgive like that.”

If you want to become like Jesus, then you should reflect His character. God has said that if you confess your sin, He is faithful and just to forgive you of your sin and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” (1 John 1:9).

God has said it. And as His spiritual child, you can do the same.

“We cannot withhold forgiveness for any reason or excuse.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for sending your only begotten Son to die and rise again so that I could be forgiven and saved and adopted into Your family. Thank you for Jesus. Please forgive me for the times of speaking against others and holding onto unforgiveness and anger from the past. Father, I am sorry and I choose to forgive those who have wronged me and I choose to speak good and pleasant and edifying things about others. Help me to always be kind and tender hearted. I need Your help Lord, strengthen me. I also ask You for wisdom and grace to do this. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

March 14th 2019 – The Daily Grind Part 3 of 3

God’s Amazing Love

“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.(Colossians 3:14)

Paul wrote Romans to give us direction, that we are to use love in our interactions with each other. “Agape” an unconditional “God” love.

Now imagine being locked in a room with twenty people. Unable to get out until all are of one mind together. Each person has their own idea of how to solve the situation. God asks us to be of one mind.

Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus. (Romans 15:5)

If you have twenty people who think they have the solution, that door will never open. This is very much how the world is today. Everyone has an opinion and thinks their opinion is right. When we take out us and place God in the equation things can change in a huge way. I call this the “G Factor” the God factor. Paul gave us a formula sent form God to become one with all in Him then laced it all with Love. One key factor is to be humble, something rare in the world today. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)
In order to be of one mind we have to be humble and have a servant heart. This is love in action.

“But I am giving you a new command. You must love each other, just as I have loved you.” (John 13:34)

If the world could put this into action, what a wonderful world this would be. In order to know this kind of love you need to know the Loving God. Asking Jesus in your life and He gives you many gifts all free and paid for by Jesus. The agape love is from God. Agape love is selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love, the kind of love Jesus has for His Father and for His followers.

That is the key to how we serve one another. This love takes out the our judgement of others. It allows us to want to serve others, forgive, encourage, learn and enjoy the fruits of the Spirit in your life.

The Fruit of the Spirit is a term that the apostle Paul uses to sum up nine visible attributes of a true Christian life. They are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22).

My hope is that you have the Love of God. If not you might consider this wonderful gift, paid in full by the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. He offers this gift to you just for asking Him into your life. It’s the ultimate gift, forgiveness and eternal life in heaven.

“The shape of God’s true love (Agape Love) isn’t a heart. It’s a cross”

Prayer:

Dear Lord, Please forgive me for all the times I have forgotten Your love. Give me the power to overcome sin and to seek You with all my heart. Teach me through Your Word and guide me by Your Spirit to be able to love others as You love me. Thank You for the precious gift of salvation. Thank You for making a way for me to be cleansed of all my sins. Lord, if I have sinned against You today, forgive me and help me live for You in all I do. Father, I stand on Your Truth in 1 John 1:9 that says if I confess my sins, You will cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Wash me clean and use me for Your kingdom today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Watch “AMAZING LOVE – Passion of Christ” on YouTube

(Please pray this prayer for Repentance, Salvation and Eternal Life with Jesus)

Father God, I am truly sorry. I repent and ask You to forgive me. I want to follow you and ask you (into) or (back into) my life. I acknowledge that Jesus Christ died on the cross for me all my sins are forgiven in His name. I repent and cancel all access to my life by evil spirits. I claim the blood of Jesus over me as my protection. I command all evil spirits that have entered my body or mind, to leave me now in Jesus’ name. I now make a new commitment to guard my eyes and take every thought captive in obedience to Christ. I will walk by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I will work to take control of my body and anew my mind, I will depend on the Holy Spirit to help me accomplish this, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

February 27th 2019 – (a•new*) our Minds to Break Free from Bondage

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is anew creation: the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

* A·new əˈn(y)o͞o/ adverb literary

In anew or different, typically more positive, way. “HE had begun anew, ” once more; again.“tears filled her eyes anew” synonyms:again, afresh, another time, once more/again, over again “may we please begin anew?”

When it comes to breaking free from bondage, I have found that many people often dread the work that comes with being free…And to be honest, I completely understand!  I don’t know about you, but just hearing the phrase, “breaking free from bondage” seems strenuous and down-right uncomfortable! This is especially true for many people when it comes to the certain areas such as theese. Quitting addictions, losing weight, or even reaching a health or fitness goal.

After years of working with people, and experiencing change in many areas of my own life, I have come to find that the reason change often seems so difficult is that we are trying to make it happen backwards! The bible says, “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7), this means that if you are ever going to experience freedom in any area, you are going to have to start to see yourself as free on the inside before you see it on the outside.

I have learned that lasting change in any area truly starts and takes place right in between our ears, or in our minds. We must realize that we have an enemy, the devil, and he can only attack us in one area, in our minds, and he does so with lies and deception. One of the most common lies that the enemy tries to get us trapped in is to make us think that we are, (and will always be) slaves and in bondage to things. He comes at us with this lie because he knows that as long as he can get you to believe that you are a slave to a certain habit, behavior, or thing, you will never be able to break free, which is right where he wants you to stay.

The good news is that Christ came to set us free from ALL bondage! In fact, if you are born again, the Bible says you are ALREADY free. “Whom the son has set free, is free indeed” (John 8:36).  This means that when you ask Jesus to be your Savior, that you are free from the power that sin once had over you.

I like to think of it it like a person who is in a jail cell with the door locked, and when Jesus comes along, He comes and unlocks the door, and says, “come on out, your free!” But just as we are about to step out, the devil says “wait, who told you that you could leave? You are not really free, and you never will be. You will be in bondage to this thing, habit, or lifestyle forever!” And so, the born again believer stays in the jail cell, with the door wide open, when all they needed to do was take a step out into freedom!

Taking this step into freedom does require action on our part, and it takes effort to a•new* our minds with God’s Word, and learn our identity in Christ.  The first step often requires us humbling ourselves before the Lord, and repenting of our behaviors that are not glorifying to Him, and ask for His help to change, maybe even a make public confession to people that can hold us accountable. Jesus will always be there to respond to our cry, and He is a good Father that loves and desires to take our hand and lead us into freedom.

The next step is getting into the Word of God, and asking God to a•new* our minds, and help us to see ourselves as the overcomer that He has created us to be. It also means praying specifically about the things that we desire change in on a daily (sometimes multiple times a day) basis!

This process of walking into total freedom can often happen in steps and stages, like peeling back layers on an onion. The reason for this is simply because many of us have lived in bondage to things for many years and it often takes time for our minds to be renewed, and our hearts to respond to the Lord and change. The important thing to remember however, is that God has already given you everything you need to walk in total victory and freedom in every area of your life, and the very first step is to see yourself as you truly are in Christ…totally and completely set free!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Your word tells us that our flesh lusts and wages war against our spirit. I am not to gratify the lusts of my flesh. I will walk by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Father, You know at times, we will struggle with the temptation to gratify the desires of our flesh. I understand that lust is saying, “I must have this at once.” Much of this battle is in my mind and thought life. Because of loneliness and inner pain at times, we may entertained lustful fantasies in our minds and thoughts. This only increased the desire for us to gratify our flesh. At times, this battle has been more than we could stand and we may have given in to the lust of our flesh. I ask You, Father, reveal to us any ways in which we have broken your moral laws. I also pray for a breakthrough in the life of who you may lead my way today. I pray for continued guidance and verbal articulation of your word. I love you Lord .. in Jesus’ name Amen.

(Please pray this prayer for Repentance and Salvation)

Father God, I am truly sorry. I repent and ask You to forgive me. I want to follow you and ask you (into) or (back into) my life. I acknowledge that Jesus Christ died on the cross for me all my sins are forgiven in His name. I repent and cancel all access to my life by evil spirits. I now make a new commitment to guard my eyes and take every thought captive in obedience to Christ. I will walk by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I will work to take control of my body and anew my mind, not giving into fleshly lusts. I will depend on the Holy Spirit to help me accomplish this, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

January 6th 2018 – Sowing and Reaping

Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.” (Galatians 6:7)

There are these laws that govern everything we do in life. There is the law of gravity, discovered by Sir Isaac Newton. This particular law basically says all things tend to fall downward. Or, to put it another way, what goes up must come down. Then there is the law of thermodynamics, which effectively says that all things eventually will breakdown. Here is an example, If you parked and left a new car in a field, given enough it would eventually rust and decay.

And of course, don’t forget Murphy’s Law: Anything that can go wrong will go wrong (and usually at the most inopportune time, I might add).

Then there is the biblical law of sowing and reaping, found in (Galatians 6:7–8) “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.” (Galatians 6:7–8)

There is a negative and a positive side to this biblical law. If you sow to the flesh, you will reap corruption. You may think you’re getting away with things, but you won’t. It will come out eventually.

But you also will reap what you sowed for God’s purposes. Hopefully since you have accepted Jesus in your life, you try to live a life that pleasing to the Lord. This means there are things that Christian should not do..

As time passes, you’ll witness the people who went out and did all the things they did, and then you’ll look at your own life and say, “Thank God, I didnt go and participate in those reckless and sinful ways. I didn’t miss a thing.”

While others sow their wild oats, we need to sow spiritual seed. While others pursue sin because its seems fun, we  pursue faith. While others pursued parties, we need to pursue prayer. While others pursued sexual pleasure, we need to pursue sexual purity. While others pursued this world, we need to pursue the next world. While others reap corruption, we will reap life.

Sow to the Spirit, and you will reap life everlasting. We will reap what we have sown as followers of Jesus.

“Whatever your gifts may be, find them. Discover them. Cultivate them. And then use them for God.”

If you have lived a life of Sin, did things you shouldn’t, maybe didn’t even know any better. God has made it possible for you to know Him and experience an amazing change in your life. Click here  to discover His amazing love for you and how you can find peace with God.
