January 9th 2018 – You Are A Miracle, Share Your Testimony

“When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan. For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified. I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling. And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God. (1 Corinthians 2:1-5)

Above are the humble words of the Apostle Paul in a letter to the Corinthians. He states that he relied only on the Holy Spirit to reach the people. No lofty words and impressive wisdom.

Do you think that more people would have accepted Jesus, if during Pauls message he could have dazzled the croud with a modern worship experience? Lasers and Lights, beautiful worship songs. What if Paul had through the Holy Spirit preformed a miracles?

Have you ever wondered that if you could do a miracle for your non-Christian friends, they would become believers? Maybe you’ve thought to youself, “If I could just do a miracle, I know they would believe on the spot.”

I don’t think so. I am sure it would be amazing. It probably would move them deeply. But a million signs and wonders would not make the world turn to Christ. When a person believes in Jesus, it is an act of the heart; an act of the will that has to take place.

A miracle is not going to convince someone. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, and afterward, they plotted to kill Jesus and Lazarus. (John 12) says that when all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see Him and also Lazarus, the man whom Jesus raised from the dead. And then the leading priests decided to kill Lazarus too. Poor Lazarus. Wasn’t bad enough that he had to die once, and then the religious leaders wanted to kill him again. Why? Because Lazarus was a living, breathing miracle. His presence alone was a testimony to the power of God.

And guess what? You are a living, breathing miracle.  If you can talk about how God has changed your life and how He has transformed you. You are a powerful representative of Jesus Christ. So be one.

Our message to a lost world is that we are all sinners. We are separated from God. But God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for our sins and to pay the price for us on the cross and to rise again from the dead. That is the gospel. Just proclaim it, and watch what God will do!

“The revelation of God’s Truth can be that hope which sets you free.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your generous love for me. I am so grateful that I can run to You in times of need and You will hear my cry. Father, I ask for Your strength and wisdom today. I am so thankful for the many promises found in Your Word. Help me take each one to heart and to allow Your Truths to change me. Protect me from the fears and doubts that can cloud my thinking, and give me boldness to stand on Your Word and to share it with others. No matter where I find myself I ask that You would guide my steps and use me for Your purposes. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Saturday June 24th – Share Your Story

“And when Baal-Hanan died, Hadad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pai. His wife’s name was Mehetabel the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab. Hadad died also. And the chiefs of Edom were Chief Timnah, Chief Aliah, Chief Jetheth, Chief Aholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon, Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar, Chief Magdiel, and Chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.” (1 Chronicles 1:50-54)

Remembering where you came from and where you are going makes up your individual, one-of-a-kind testimony . There is power in the testimony of your life. Revelation 12 talks about believers overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.

So, what if your past does not include the seedier things of life? Well, the Bible is clear that we we were all on a death row sentence. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Through His grace and the faith-gift of God, He saves us. Once saved you are a child of God – a priest and a king. There are two people in the Bible who are called both a priest and king – Jesus and you. Now, you are saved and will spend eternity with God.

In a world that is wracked with fear and uncertainty, people need to hear your testimony. Share it and talk about it. Share not in a prideful or bragging way, but out of the joy of your heart. Your testimony could be the very thing that leads someone else to come to Jesus. Share your story, It might be what they have been waiting for.

“Remember where you came from, who you are and where you are going.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, We love You and Praise You in all circumstances. Thank You for the gift of Your Son. I am so grateful for the grace and mercy You have given me. Lord, I want to be a vessel used to glorify Your name. Give me the boldness to share my testimony without fear and uncertainty. Give me the spirit of humility so that I may be used to minister in the lives of others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Invitation:

Don’t go through life without Jesus. If you do not know Him personally, accept the greatest gift you could possible ever receive. I encourage you not to pass up the precious gift of His love and eternal life. Jesus died on the cross for you and me. He loves us and wants to help us. November 20th 2016 – Share Your Story

“Then he said: ‘I am indeed a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, taught according to the strictness of our fathers’ law, and was zealous toward God as you all are today.'” (Acts 22:2-3)

In Acts 22, Paul shares his testimony. Why is he doing this? Is it so others will be amazed at his religious upbringing or at the depth of his biblical training? Is it to glorify his past? No, Paul is sharing his testimony to lead others to Christ by explaining who he was before Jesus, what Jesus did, and the joy that he now has because of Jesus. This is one of the most effective ways of sharing your faith. You see, people can argue about historical facts and they can disagree over cultural details, but people cannot argue with the fact that you found love, joy and forgiveness at the foot of the cross. Brother or sister, don’t be shy about telling your ‘God story’. Tell it to as many as will listen and you will be amazed at how God will use it to change the lives of those around you.

“Share your life story often with people.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me and saving me. Though I was a sinner, You sought me out and saved me from who I was so that I could live for You forever. Please give me courage and opportunity to share my testimony with others and forgive me for times when I had opportunities to share and did not. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen
