March 27th 2025 – Sharing Jesus in a Lost and Hateful World

“Did I commit sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you free of charge?” (2 Corinthians 11:7)

Imagine having the apostle Paul as your pastor. He’s often viewed as the “ideal pastor,” beloved by all, yet 2 Corinthians 11 reveals a different reality. In this poignant chapter, Paul finds himself defending his ministry against those within the church who question his motives.

Some in the Corinthian church accused Paul of seeking monetary gain, despite his choice to preach without charge. Others regarded him as a lesser teacher simply because he didn’t solicit financial support. Ultimately, Paul faced an uphill battle. Why did he refrain from accepting funds? Because the congregation projected an unwillingness to give, portraying themselves as unable or undeserving of contributing. They missed a transformative opportunity to support Paul’s ministry and share in its blessings due to their selfishness. Yet, Paul continued to love them deeply, striving to speak the Truth in love, hoping they would eventually recognize it.

Our own lives mirror this experience. There are moments when we share the Truth in love, and it may fall on deaf ears. But even when others resist, we must persist in love, allowing the Lord to use our gentle witness to create lasting change in their lives.

“Some people won’t hear; some won’t recognize the sacrifice and gift; some may slander you while others may wish to harm you. Yet, don’t stop trying, for some will hear and be transformed.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I find myself struggling with certain individuals in my life. No matter how much love I extend, they leave me questioning why. Help me to be a true reflection of Your love to them. Grant me opportunities to share the truth with grace, remaining sensitive and patient as Your Holy Spirit works. If I am part of the challenge, please make me aware, so I can bring it to You. Thank You for allowing me to serve in this ministry without seeking compensation or donations. I am grateful to support others with what I’ve earned through hard work. Lord, open their eyes to see that blessings are gifts, not entitlements. Thank You for sustaining me through trials when I face negativity, judgment, or attacks for sharing Your truth in love. Please continue to bless me with a job that fulfills me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

March 26th 2025 – Words Have Power

“I am the rose of Sharon, And the lily of the valleys.” (Song of Solomon 2:1)

What transforms a person’s perception of themselves? Could it truly be as simple as a few kind words? This was certainly the case for Solomon and his beloved. In the opening chapter of Song of Solomon, we find the Shulamite woman feeling downcast about her appearance, declaring, “Do not look at me, because I am dark, because the sun has tanned me.” Her worries stem from her hard work in the vineyards under the relentless sun, leaving her feeling less than beautiful. Yet, by chapter two, she refers to herself as a rose of Sharon—an image of beauty and grace. This remarkable shift in self-view is a direct result of the loving words and encouragement shared by Solomon.

It’s a powerful reminder of what God’s Word teaches us about the impact of our speech, as noted in the book of James:

“In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire.” (James 3:5)

The potential of our words is extraordinary. Too often, we forget their weight and inadvertently use them to wound rather than heal. God calls us to walk in grace, humility, and love. We should actively seek opportunities to uplift one another through our words—expressing gratitude, thanksgiving, and kindness. Husbands, speak words of love to your wives. Wives, offer encouragement and support to your husbands. In this cycle of nurturing words, you will cultivate a thriving, healthy relationship. Remember, our words hold immense power; let’s choose to wield them wisely.

“Our words are powerful tools that can either build people up or tear them down.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of relationships. Fill me with Your Spirit so I can speak words of love and encouragement to those around me—my spouse, children, and friends. Grant me the patience to love even when the love is not reciprocated, and the wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent. May my words bring healing and glorify You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

March 25th 2025 – Tempted? God Can Help

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:13)

It’s striking how quickly we can judge the actions of others while justifying our own questionable behaviors. The nature of temptation is that it draws us in, often appealing to our desires.

In the prayer Jesus taught us, we ask, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one” (Matthew 6:13). This plea is a request for divine guidance, helping us stay within God’s will and away from unnecessary temptation. Essentially, we are saying, “Lord, protect us from being tempted beyond our ability to resist.”

And indeed, He will. The Bible reassures us: “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

However, we often encounter those ambiguous situations where we question if something is appropriate for a Christian. Here’s a practical approach to navigate these gray areas:

  1. Pray first: Bring your concerns into the light of God’s presence. If you can’t pray over your actions and honestly say “hallowed be Your name,” then it’s best to refrain from doing them.
  2. Consider the perspective of others: Ask yourself, “How would it look if someone else, particularly another Christian, were doing this?” Would it seem inappropriate? Does it carry what the Bible refers to as the appearance of evil? If so, it’s wise to avoid it.
  3. Seek strength against temptation: While temptation is an inevitable part of life, you can pray, “Lord, help me not to place myself in harm’s way unnecessarily.”

You can ask God to guard your eyes, ears, mouth, hands, and feet—everything that influences what you see, hear, say, and do.

“The adversary knows precisely how to tailor temptation to our weaknesses!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your immense love. I acknowledge my wrongdoings and the sins I’ve committed against You. Please forgive me and fill me with Your Spirit so that I can recognize and resist temptation. Help me resist the urge to justify sin in my life. When I find myself in tempting situations, open my eyes to the escape route You provide. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

March 24th 2025 – In the World but not of this World

“To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,” (1 Peter 1:1)

When we hear the word “aliens,” our minds might drift to whimsical images of UFOs and extraterrestrial beings. While those notions may belong to the realm of fiction, the true essence of being an “alien” resonates deeply with our spiritual journey. In 1 Peter 1, the apostle Peter refers to the early church as “pilgrims,” a term that can also mean “foreigners” or “aliens.”

This designation serves as a powerful reminder that we are not permanent residents of this world. Peter emphasizes a profound truth for all believers: our true citizenship lies beyond this earthly realm. When we accept Jesus as our Savior and experience the new birth, we are transformed into a new creation. Our mindset shifts as we begin to live with a heavenly perspective. Although we inhabit these earthly bodies—often described as mere “tents”—our hearts and minds are directed toward our eternal home.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)

So, how do we navigate our lives as citizens of Heaven while living in this world? The answer is to dedicate ourselves to God’s purpose. We are called to invest our time, energy, resources, and talents into things that have eternal significance. While God desires us to enjoy the blessings of this life, we must hold them loosely, knowing they are temporary. With our eyes fixed on Heaven, we can live generously and courageously, understanding that our ultimate reward awaits us beyond this life.

“While Christians may live on earth, our eternal home is in Heaven.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of Heaven and the hope of eternity spent with You. Help me to keep my focus on my true home, finding peace even amidst life’s challenges. Lord, guide me in using my time, resources, and talents for Your Kingdom. Today, I choose to live with eternity in mind. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

March 23rd 2025 – Safe and Secure with Jesus

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:28)

I want you to fully understand the safety and security you have in God’s presence. If you have invited Jesus into your life, you are on the path to heaven, and nothing can hinder you from reaching that glorious destination. When you leave this life, you will have the incredible joy of seeing Him face to face, a joy that surpasses all earthly experiences. Even now, you are never separated from Him, even if you must see Him through the eyes of faith. He will walk with you until the end of time and beyond into eternity.

There may be moments when we don’t always feel His presence. Here are just a few of God’s promises to remind you:

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)

“No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Joshua 1:5)

“May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may He never leave us nor forsake us.” (1 Kings 8:57)

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’” (Hebrews 13:5)

While we may choose to turn away from God, He will never abandon us. Regardless of how bleak a situation may seem or how empty you might feel, remember that God is always with you! His promises are unwavering, and His word stands above all else. We can move forward with confidence, knowing He goes before us. And if God is for us, who can stand against us?

When you forget His presence, you may experience feelings of loneliness or fear. It is through the awareness of His presence that peace can replace negative emotions. Make it a practice to walk consciously with Jesus each day.

“God’s promise: Safe and Secure in His Presence”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for walking with me and providing peace. I surrender each day to You, asking that You use me to help others come to know You. Continue to shape me into the person You have destined me to be. I love You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

March 22nd 2025 – Right Where We Are

“For if I am an offender, or have committed anything deserving of death, I do not object to dying; but if there is nothing in these things of which these men accuse me, no one can deliver me to them. I appeal to Caesar.” (Acts 25:11)

What does God see when he looks at you? He sees you clearly right where you are. God knows your potential. He created you. He knows the gifts and talents that He has given you. God knows how He wants to use you to love and serve Him and others. Sometimes God will use things in our lives that we least expect Him to use. In Acts 25, we see God using Paul’s Roman citizenship to give him the opportunity to preach the Gospel before King Agrippa and a huge audience in the amphitheater at Caesarea. Like Paul, God is able to use you to do incredible things right where you are. No gift or talent is too big or too small. No circumstance too dire, God can use it.

Do you want to be used by God? You can start right where you are in your home, workplace and in your church. How are you serving God today? How will you be serving God a month from now or even a year from now? I want to encourage you to start serving God right where you are. God has got an awesome adventure planned for you; a miraculous mission lies waiting for you if you choose to accept your mission. God will use you in ways you never thought possible.

“God wants to work through you right where you are with what you have right now.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Open my eyes so that I can ask the tough questions in my life. Give me understanding on how to live out the Truth I believe. Shower me with Your grace when I stumble, and fill me with Your Spirit so that I can live for You. Thank You for loving me. Thank You for the gifts, talents and circumstances You have given me. I commit to using my gifts to glorify You… starting today. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

March 21st 2025 – Live and Abundant Life

“So I sent messengers to them, saying, ‘I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?’” (Nehemiah 6:3)

In the midst of our daily struggles, it’s essential to recognize that the enemy is always lurking, seeking to distract and deter us from the important work God has called us to. Satan thrives on chaos and despair; his aim is to drag us down into misery. He may present fleeting joys that ultimately lead to heartache, but we must remember that God offers a path filled with true joy and eternal hope.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

To resist the devil effectively, we need to invite Jesus to transform us from within. Merely going through the motions of faith isn’t enough; it’s about allowing Christ to renew our hearts and minds. If we cling to our old ways, we risk missing out on the fullness of life that God desires for us. Don’t let the enemy take hold—surrender to God and rely on His Spirit to guide you along His path.

“God can bless you, wherever you are.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I’ve let the enemy lead me astray from Your purpose. Open my eyes to Your truth and my ears to Your voice through Your Word, the Holy Spirit, and the community of believers around me. I desire Your ways above all else! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

March 20th 2025 – The Shepherd’s Promise

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

As we reflect on this beautiful passage, we are reminded of the profound love and care our Shepherd has for us. The imagery of green pastures and quiet waters speaks to our deep need for peace and restoration. God desires us to find refuge in Him, to be refreshed and guided along life’s journey.

However, verse 4 shifts our focus from the Shepherd’s actions to our own. There are moments in our lives when we stray from His voice, leading us into places that feel dark and overwhelming—the valley of the shadow of death. It’s easy to find ourselves in situations that leave us questioning, “How did I end up here?” Often, it’s a result of our choices or our failure to listen to God’s gentle guidance.

Have you ever experienced such moments? Times when the lushness of life seems to fade and the waters become murky? In those moments, it’s crucial to remember that even when we wander, the Great Shepherd remains steadfast. He has promised never to leave us or forsake us. His presence is our greatest comfort, and His rod and staff symbolize His strength and protection.

In our failures, we must come to Him, confess, and allow His forgiveness to wash over us. There is no mistake too great for His grace to redeem. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness, providing a fresh start and a renewed spirit.

Take heart today; no sin is beyond His reach. Rest in the assurance that you are never alone. God is always near, waiting for you to call upon Him.

“He is ready to comfort you, restore you, and guide you back to the path of righteousness.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus that makes me whole. I am grateful that even when I walk through difficult valleys, You are there to comfort and restore me. Thank You for Your unfailing love and for always being by my side. Help me to listen for Your voice and to trust in Your guidance each day. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

March 19th 2025 – Church, Hospital For Sinners or Museum for Saints?

“And to the sons of Aaron, they assigned one of the cities of refuge, Hebron; along with Libnah and its surrounding lands, Jattir, Eshtemoa and its common lands, Hilen and its common lands, Debir and its common lands, Ashan and its common lands, and Beth Shemesh and its common lands. From the tribe of Benjamin, they designated Geba with its common lands, Alemeth with its commonlands, and Anathoth with its common lands. In total, there were thirteen cities allotted among their families.” (1 Chronicles 6:57-60)

Recently, I found myself in a deep discussion with an acquaintance about the challenges surrounding healthcare since the implementation of the Affordable Care Act many years ago. Speaking from my personal experiences dealing with health issues over the past few years, I was met with an unexpected backlash. This individual launched a personal attack on my character and my faith, losing control in the process—all because I shared my own story.

I hold a strong belief system and have deep faith. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and cherish our country. Yet, I acknowledge my imperfections; I still grapple with various personal struggles. This encounter was a moment where my human nature clashed with my faith. I realized that staying in that conversation could lead to an escalation that might require medical attention for him instead.

During my quiet time this morning, as I sought forgiveness for my reactions, the Lord gently corrected my heart.

Jesus teaches us that hating someone is akin to murder because the seeds of hatred reside in the heart. Similarly, lust is equated with adultery for the same reason. It’s fundamentally a heart issue. Even if we don’t physically commit murder, the intent exists within us. Sin has many tentacles, infiltrating every gap we leave open in our lives. Who among us can claim to have never hated? Who can say they’ve never lusted, lied, or stolen? We all need a refuge.

The church is meant to be a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints. A perfect church does not exist because all churches are composed of flawed people—people who have sinned (Romans 3:10, 23).

The church should be a refuge where murderers, adulterers, liars, and idolaters can come to the One who forgives, Jesus. When the church presents an image of unattainable righteousness and perfection, it risks transforming into a museum rather than a sanctuary.

“So God has given us both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to his promise with confidence.” (Hebrews 6:18)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unconditional love. Thank You for providing Your Son as a refuge for my sins. Lord, I need You. With You, I can release the burdens of my past and embrace the hope You offer. Help me to be a source of strength for others. Empower me to use my gifts and talents to draw others closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

March 18th 2025 – Worship With Unaffected Joy

When God’s people gather to study His Word, something wonderful occurs. Similarly, an extraordinary atmosphere is created when they come together to sing His praises. Jesus assures us, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).

This verse highlights that while God is always present, His presence is uniquely felt when His followers worship Him together.

The early church was characterized by a spirit of worship. Acts 2:46-47 reveals, “They ate their food with great joy and generosity, all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people.” The phrase “great joy and generosity” signifies a deep, unaffected joy. The early church was vibrant and full of life, yet they also displayed a profound reverence. Just a few verses earlier, in Acts 2:43, we read, “A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.”

In our worship, both joy and reverence should coexist. A Spirit-filled church will naturally be a worshipping church, just as a Spirit-filled Christian will be a worshipping Christian.

Some may say, “I don’t always feel like worshipping.” However, did the first-century believers always feel inclined to praise God? They faced harassment, beatings, and mockery, enduring severe persecution, yet they remained thankful to God.

The Bible doesn’t instruct us to “give thanks to the Lord when you feel good.” Instead, it declares, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!” (1 Chronicles 16:34). This is how Job could worship God even amidst calamity: “Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship” (Job 1:20).

“Worship sometimes requires sacrifice, but it should always be accompanied by unaffected joy.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I am in awe of Your unending and unconditional love. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, I am freed from the bondage of sin and future condemnation. You are so good to me, and I desire to respond with a life surrendered to You. Fill me with joy and reverence; fill me with Your Spirit and guide me to live a life of love and service for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
