May 26th 2026 – Guided by the Spirit of Truth

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” (John 16:13)

Reflection:

In today’s fast-paced world, filled with uncertainty and mixed messages, the promise of the Holy Spirit as our guide is both reassuring and empowering. Jesus reminds us that the Spirit of truth will lead us into all truth and share what He hears from the Father. This divine guidance is a source of clarity when things feel confusing and direction when life feels chaotic.

Let’s think about what truth really means. It’s not just a collection of facts; it’s the foundation of our relationship with God. The Spirit reveals deep truths about who God is, His love for us, and the plans He has for our lives. Through prayer and engaging with Scripture, we can seek the Spirit’s guidance. He helps us see things clearly and discern between the distractions of the world and the wisdom of God.

Contemplation:

Take a moment to sit quietly and invite the Holy Spirit to speak into your life. Reflect on areas where you need guidance and truth. Trust that He is right there with you, guiding you toward God’s perfect plan.

Action Step:

Prayer:

As we face the challenges and uncertainties of our days, remind us to seek Your presence in prayer and Scripture. In our fast-paced world, we are overwhelmed by a constant stream of information. From news articles and social media posts to AI-generated content and deepfake videos, distinguishing fact from fiction has never been more challenging. As believers, we must approach this landscape with discernment, relying on the Holy Spirit to guide us.

Jesus promises in John 16:13 that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth. This is a vital assurance for us, especially in an era where technology can blur the lines of reality. The Holy Spirit equips us to navigate the complexities of modern life, helping us sift through the noise and identify what aligns with God’s truth.

In a time when even our media can be manipulated, grounding ourselves in Scripture is essential. The wisdom of the Holy Spirit will enable us to recognize authenticity and discern what resonates with our faith and values.

Action Steps

March 25th 2025 – Tempted? God Can Help

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:13)

It’s striking how quickly we can judge the actions of others while justifying our own questionable behaviors. The nature of temptation is that it draws us in, often appealing to our desires.

In the prayer Jesus taught us, we ask, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one” (Matthew 6:13). This plea is a request for divine guidance, helping us stay within God’s will and away from unnecessary temptation. Essentially, we are saying, “Lord, protect us from being tempted beyond our ability to resist.”

And indeed, He will. The Bible reassures us: “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

However, we often encounter those ambiguous situations where we question if something is appropriate for a Christian. Here’s a practical approach to navigate these gray areas:

  1. Pray first: Bring your concerns into the light of God’s presence. If you can’t pray over your actions and honestly say “hallowed be Your name,” then it’s best to refrain from doing them.
  2. Consider the perspective of others: Ask yourself, “How would it look if someone else, particularly another Christian, were doing this?” Would it seem inappropriate? Does it carry what the Bible refers to as the appearance of evil? If so, it’s wise to avoid it.
  3. Seek strength against temptation: While temptation is an inevitable part of life, you can pray, “Lord, help me not to place myself in harm’s way unnecessarily.”

You can ask God to guard your eyes, ears, mouth, hands, and feet—everything that influences what you see, hear, say, and do.

“The adversary knows precisely how to tailor temptation to our weaknesses!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your immense love. I acknowledge my wrongdoings and the sins I’ve committed against You. Please forgive me and fill me with Your Spirit so that I can recognize and resist temptation. Help me resist the urge to justify sin in my life. When I find myself in tempting situations, open my eyes to the escape route You provide. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

In a world filled with uncertainty and conflicting messages, the promise of the Holy Spirit as our guide is both comforting and empowering. Jesus assures us that the Spirit of truth will not only lead us into all truth but will also communicate what He has heard from the Father. This divine guidance is available to us, offering clarity amidst confusion and direction amid chaos.

Consider the essence of truth. It is not merely a collection of facts but the very foundation of our relationship with God. The Spirit reveals truths about His nature, His love for us, and His plans for our lives. In prayer and Scripture, we can seek the Spirit’s guidance. He illuminates our understanding and helps us discern between worldly distractions and God’s wisdom.
