July 1st 2025 – Temporary Fix

“From childhood we have watched as everything our ancestors worked for–their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters–was squandered on a delusion.” (Jeremiah 3:24)

Sin is not your friend. While it may seem enticing in the moment, bringing with it fleeting excitement, don’t be deceived into believing it is on your side. In the book of Jeremiah, God speaks to His people about their wrongful actions. Amidst His convicting words, He also reveals a promise of redemption—a time will come when they will turn back to Him. In that moment of turning, they will recognize the truth of their sinfulness and the heavy cost it carries. This realization is a crucial part of repentance; we begin to see our sin for what it truly is and understand our responsibility in the matter.

Our God is a God of hope and second chances. He yearns to transform our sin-stained lives into radiant gems of grace. Unlike the city in which I live, perpetually patching its roads with temporary fixes that never hold, our God is not interested in mere band-aids for our flawed nature. He offers us the gift of a brand new life. This transformation begins when we turn from the empty pursuits of sin and turn towards the mighty God who longs to save us. Have you made that turn? He is waiting for you with open arms. “He loves you.”

“God always provides a way of escape from our sin.”

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, I come before You acknowledging my need for Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for me, taking upon Yourself my sins so that I could be redeemed. I also believe that You rose from the dead, conquering sin and death, so that I could have new life in You. I recognize that I have strayed from Your path, and I am truly sorry for the wrongs I have committed. Please forgive me for my sins and cleanse my heart. Grant me the strength and resolve to follow You faithfully all the days of my life. Help me to turn away from the empty pursuits that lead me astray and to embrace the abundant life You offer. May my life reflect Your love and grace to those around me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

June 6th 2025 – Who Are You?

“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia:” (2 Corinthians 1:1)

“Who are you?” This question often prompts us to respond with our professions, such as “I’m a teacher” or “I work as an engineer.” However, these responses tell more about what we do rather than who we truly are. To uncover our real identity, we must look beyond our roles and understand to whom we truly belong.

Many people may not realize it, but we all find ourselves in one of two camps: we are either children of God or children of the devil. This distinction might be difficult for some to accept, yet Jesus made it clear in John 8:44 when He addressed the Pharisees, stating, “For you are the children of your father the devil and you love to do the evil things he does.” In unequivocal terms, Jesus identifies those who engage in evil as belonging to the devil. But how can any of us become children of God when we have all sinned? The answer lies in one name—Jesus. Through His sacrificial death on the cross, He bore our sins, burying them forever. When we ask for His forgiveness and place our faith in His death and resurrection, we are welcomed into His family as children of God.

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:” (John 1:12)

Now that you grasp the essence of the question, let me ask again… “Who are you and who do you belong to?”

“Our primary identity is not in what we do but in who we are or ‘whose’ we are.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You today with a humble heart, recognizing that I have sinned and done evil in Your sight. I confess my shortcomings and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus, Your Son, died on the cross for my sins and rose again, conquering death and offering me new life. I trust in His sacrifice and accept the grace You freely offer. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, empower me to walk in Your ways, and guide me to live a life that reflects Your love and truth. Help me to understand my identity as Your child and to share that truth with others. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

April 26th 2025 – Restoring Joy

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

Have you ever felt robbed of your joy? No locks were broken, no alarms triggered; yet, you sense that your joy has been taken. Was it a sudden loss, or a slow descent into despair that you barely noticed until it was too late?

The enemy is that relentless thief, attempting to rob us of the good things that Jesus has sacrificed so much for us to enjoy.

Through the blood of Jesus at His crucifixion, we gain complete authority over the enemy. No matter what schemes he devises, we are assured of victory! Scripture tells us that Jesus died so we could live blessed, full, and joyful lives.

The enemy has no rightful place in our lives; he is beneath us, under our feet. When we feel our spirits sinking into sadness, frustration, or fear, we must be prepared for battle. It is essential to know the Word of God, equipping ourselves with the necessary defenses against attacks on our joy.

“God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11)

This scripture makes it clear: at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, including that of the enemy. He must submit to Jesus and will ultimately flee!

So, how do we reclaim what the enemy has stolen? How do we restore and maintain our joy? The wonderful truth is that God specializes in restoration. He promises to return to us double for our troubles and beauty for our ashes!

The story of Job in the Bible serves as a profound testament to God’s unwavering kindness and faithfulness. The enemy stripped Job of everything: his family, home, wealth, joy, and health. Yet throughout his trials, Job praised God and held onto his faith. As a result, God restored everything to Job, giving him even more than he had lost. Job allowed his faith to overshadow his fears, leading to the return of his joy and complete restoration.

The Bible assures us that though we may experience pain during the night, joy comes in the morning. We are called to embody the mind of Christ and be transformed into God’s image. God fights our battles for us, often without us lifting a finger in our own defense! The great I AM is never too preoccupied or on a break; He is always ready to stand with us. Call on Jesus! He will never abandon you or forsake you. He rescues us in times of trouble and promises to honor and deliver us from all evil. With Him, we are destined to triumph, and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. In God, we are always more than conquerors!

“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with JOY in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” (Psalm 16:11)

“When you feel your joy and peace slipping away, enter into God’s presence and boldly declare that the joy of the Lord is your strength. Pray continuously and trust that God is capable and willing to perfect all that concerns you. He will fight for you always… in every way!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, grant us the royal gift of inward happiness and the serenity that comes from living close to You. Renew within us a daily sense of joy, allowing Your eternal spirit to dwell deep within our souls and bodies, filling every corner of our hearts with light and grace. Continue to fill us with all that is good so we may reflect You in our daily lives. I give praise to You for all the blessings You have bestowed upon me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

April 18th 2025 – The Importance of Gratitude

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it can be easy to overlook the simple yet profound act of gratitude. We often find ourselves caught up in what we lack or what isn’t going right, forgetting the countless blessings that surround us each day. However, when we intentionally choose to cultivate a spirit of gratitude, we open our hearts to transformation.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 107:1)

Gratitude is not merely a response to receiving good things; it is a posture of the heart that acknowledges God’s goodness, love, and provision, even amidst trials. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, we are called to give thanks in all circumstances. This is not always easy. Life can throw challenges our way that seem insurmountable, leading us to question God’s goodness. Yet, it is precisely in these moments that gratitude can act as a lifeline, reminding us of the larger story that God is weaving in our lives.

Reflecting on my own journey, I remember a particularly difficult season when everything seemed to go wrong. It felt as though I was walking through a dense fog, unsure of what lay ahead. In my despair, I turned to God in prayer, pouring out my heart and seeking His comfort. It was during this time that I felt the gentle nudge to start writing about what I was greatful in my journal. Each day, I would write down three things for which I was thankful. At first, it felt like a chore, but as I persisted, I began to notice the beauty that was emerging from the ashes of my struggles.

I found gratitude in the small things: the warmth of the sun on my face, a friend’s encouraging message, the laughter of children playing in the park. With each entry, my heart began to shift. I realized that even in the darkest moments, God was present, showering me with blessings that I had previously overlooked. This practice not only lifted my spirits but also deepened my relationship with God, as I became more aware of His constant presence and care.

When we embrace gratitude, we begin to see life through a different lens. It shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have, fostering a spirit of contentment and joy. Our interactions with others also flourish. A grateful heart is a generous heart, one that shares love, kindness, and encouragement. We become beacons of hope in a world that often feels heavy and burdensome.

As we embark on this journey of gratitude, let us remember Psalm 107:1, which reminds us to give thanks to the Lord for His enduring love. Gratitude is not merely an act; it is a way of life—one that transforms our hearts and minds. “

“Commit to practicing thankfulness daily, allowing it to shape our perspective and draw us closer to God.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the countless blessings You have bestowed upon us. Help us to cultivate a spirit of gratitude in our hearts, even in the midst of challenges. May we learn to rejoice always and give thanks in all circumstances, knowing that Your love endures forever. Open our eyes to see the beauty around us and fill our hearts with thankfulness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

April 14th 2025 – Love to the Extreme

“I blasted you with blight and mildew. When your gardens increased, your vineyards, your fig trees, and your olive trees, the locust devoured them; yet you have not returned to Me,” says the LORD. (Amos 4:9)

Throughout Scripture, we often witness the weight of God’s judgments, particularly as Israel and other nations grapple with His power. While these judgments can be sobering, it’s essential to recognize the underlying theme of grace and mercy that permeates the Old Testament. In the words of the prophets, God continually calls His people to turn away from their wrongdoing, offering forgiveness and restoration. Yes, His discipline can appear severe, but His love remains equally profound.

“But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

This is love to the extreme—the God of creation has shown us an unparalleled depth of love. While we were ensnared in sin and burdened by condemnation, He left the splendor of heaven to give His life for ours. The punishment that rightfully belonged to us was laid upon Jesus at the cross. Each nail that pierced His hands was a testament to the forgiveness He offers. Each lash of the whip that struck His body was a step toward our eternal connection with Him. All we must do is approach Jesus in repentance and trust Him for our salvation, entering into the greatest love story ever told.

“God goes to extreme measures to reveal His love for us.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge my shortcomings and the wrongs I have committed. Today, I humbly ask for Your forgiveness. I confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that He died for my sins, rising again on the third day. Transform me into a new creation and fill me with Your Spirit, guiding me to live according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

April 6th 2025 – Visions From God

In the first year of Belshazzar, king of Babylon, Daniel experienced a profound dream and received visions while resting in his bed. He documented the dream, highlighting the key elements. (Daniel 7:1)

This was a tumultuous time for the Babylonian kingdom, as Nebuchadnezzar had passed away over 15 years prior. His successors were embroiled in violent power struggles, setting the stage for Daniel’s divine revelation. Despite being somewhat removed from the public sphere, Daniel was chosen to receive one of the most remarkable prophetic visions in the Bible.

You might find yourself in a similarly obscure or challenging situation, perhaps yearning for a fresh start elsewhere. Like the apostle Paul, who often felt imprisoned by his circumstances, Daniel too experienced isolation. Yet, in this solitude, Paul received numerous letters from the Lord, which now form part of the New Testament. Remember, you too can encounter a vision from the Lord right where you are. If you seek Him wholeheartedly, He will remain faithful, working within you even during your toughest times.

“As my vision continued that night, I saw someone resembling a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was presented before Him. Authority, honor, and sovereignty over all nations were bestowed upon Him, so that people from every race, nation, and language would obey Him. His reign is everlasting—it will never cease. His kingdom will never be destroyed.” (Daniel 7:13-14)

Isaiah, too, witnessed a vision of God’s throne in Isaiah chapter 6, where he was commissioned to be a witness for the Lord. Feeling unworthy of delivering God’s message, Isaiah received an encouraging sign in his vision to empower him for his mission. When God reveals His vision to us, it transforms our very being, shaping us into the likeness of Jesus and equipping us to know Him and share Him with others. Dedicate time to persist in prayer, immerse yourself in His Word, and engage with fellow believers. It is through these pursuits that our vision of Him expands, enabling us to make a lasting impact.

“A true vision will shift your perspective, alter your speech, and transform your heart towards God and others. So don’t shy away from it; embrace it!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your willingness to share Your will and vision for my life, even in less-than-ideal circumstances. Forgive me for times when I lose sight of You. Grant me the strength to pursue You with all my heart. I trust that You will provide the vision to see You as I walk in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

April 4th 2025 – Transformation of the Heart

“If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.” (Matthew 5:29-30)

For many years, I viewed these verses through the lens of hyperbole, interpreting them as a call for radical action against the things in our lives that lead us astray. I imagined it as a metaphorical amputation—a drastic measure to remove the sources of sin. While this interpretation holds a semblance of truth, a deeper revelation awaits us, one that is both mind-blowing and transformative.

In the verse preceding this instruction, Jesus reveals a profound truth: “If anyone looks at a woman lustfully, he has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Here, Jesus is unveiling the root of the issue: our hearts. The Sermon on the Mount emphasizes that our actions are merely manifestations of what resides within us. They are the fruits of a tree, and that tree is our heart.

Consider the plight of a man struggling with lust. He may take the drastic step of cutting off his hand to prevent inappropriate touch. However, he soon realizes that lust is not confined to his hands; it can thrive in his thoughts and desires. So, he gouges out his eye, yet finds no relief. The cycle continues—he cuts out his tongue to silence sinful words, and then his ears to block out seductive sounds. But with each severed limb, he discovers that the root of his sin remains intact.

Herein lies the mind-blowing revelation: Jesus is not merely advocating for the removal of body parts; He is calling for a radical heart transformation. The truth is, no external action can eradicate the sin that resides in our hearts. Our efforts at behavior modification will always fall short unless we invite Jesus to perform the ultimate surgery—removing our hardend and sinful hearts and replacing them with a new heart and spirit. Something only He can do.

In Ezekiel 36, God promises, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

This is the crux of Christianity—not merely changing our actions, but experiencing a complete transformation from the inside out.

As we reflect on these verses, let us not become entangled in the futile cycle of trying to cut out our sins. Instead, let us surrender our hearts to Jesus, the Great Physician, who has the power to transform us. It is in this radical transformation that we find true freedom and the ability to live a life that is pleasing to God.

“Christianity in not about behavior modification, it’s about Heart Tranformation!“

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the promise of a new heart. I invite Jesus Christ into my life today, recognizing my need for His transformative power. Help me to see the areas where I have relied on my own efforts to change instead of surrendering fully to You. Create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me. May I embrace the freedom that comes from being transformed by Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

April 2nd 2025 – Rise Again

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

In our lives, we often face moments that feel overwhelming and heavy. The weight of our struggles can make us feel as though we are sinking into darkness, lost and alone. Yet, in these very moments, there is a promise that resonates through the ages—the promise of resurrection, renewal, and rebirth.

Scriptural Seeds latest worship song “Rise Again” reminds us that even when we stumble, we possess the divine ability to rise. This isn’t just a call to persevere; it’s an invitation to experience the transformative power of God’s love. When we lean into our faith, we discover that hope is not a fleeting feeling but a steadfast anchor that holds us firm through any storm.

Consider the story of the prodigal son. After wandering far and squandering his inheritance, he found himself in despair. But it was in his brokenness that he recognized his need for his father’s love. When he returned, he was met not with judgment but with open arms—a beautiful reminder that no matter how far we stray, God is always ready to welcome us back home.

Take a moment today to reflect on areas in your life where you feel burdened or defeated. Write down a prayer or a commitment to God, asking for the strength to rise again. Share your struggles with a trusted friend or a mentor, allowing their support to help lift you back to hope.

In the journey of life, remember that “Rise Again” is more than a song; it’s a declaration of faith—the assurance that, through God, we can rise from our struggles and embrace the new beginnings He has in store for us. Let us hold onto this truth and encourage one another to soar high on the wings of hope and love.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, in moments of darkness and despair, help me to remember that I can rise again through Your grace. Strengthen my heart, renew my spirit, and guide me back to the light of Your love. May I always hold onto hope and trust in Your promises, knowing that every setback is an opportunity for a comeback. Thank You for being my refuge and strength. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

March 21st 2025 – Live and Abundant Life

“So I sent messengers to them, saying, ‘I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?’” (Nehemiah 6:3)

In the midst of our daily struggles, it’s essential to recognize that the enemy is always lurking, seeking to distract and deter us from the important work God has called us to. Satan thrives on chaos and despair; his aim is to drag us down into misery. He may present fleeting joys that ultimately lead to heartache, but we must remember that God offers a path filled with true joy and eternal hope.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

To resist the devil effectively, we need to invite Jesus to transform us from within. Merely going through the motions of faith isn’t enough; it’s about allowing Christ to renew our hearts and minds. If we cling to our old ways, we risk missing out on the fullness of life that God desires for us. Don’t let the enemy take hold—surrender to God and rely on His Spirit to guide you along His path.

“God can bless you, wherever you are.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I’ve let the enemy lead me astray from Your purpose. Open my eyes to Your truth and my ears to Your voice through Your Word, the Holy Spirit, and the community of believers around me. I desire Your ways above all else! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

March 16th 2025 – Unwrapping New Life in Christ

“The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, ‘Take off the grave clothes and let him go.’” (John 11:44)

In this powerful moment, we see Lazarus emerging from the tomb, alive yet still bound by the remnants of his past. For many Christians, this imagery resonates deeply. Just as Lazarus was called from death to life, so too are we transformed when we accept Christ. However, like Lazarus, we often carry our “grave clothes” into our new lives—habits, mindsets, and emotional burdens that can weigh us down.

Our thoughts play a significant role in shaping our emotions. When we fixate on our problems, they can loom large, overshadowing the blessings we have. Conversely, when we shift our focus to God’s promises and provisions, we find that our troubles shrink in comparison. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:8 to think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. By directing our thoughts toward these virtues, we can experience emotional and spiritual freedom.

True contentment is not dependent on our circumstances, a notion that often contradicts our societal beliefs. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by negative situations, but we have the power to choose our responses. Emotions are influenced by our thoughts; we can train ourselves to focus on the positive, the eternal, and the uplifting, even amid adversity.

Let’s encourage one another to look beyond the visible challenges and embrace the eternal truths of God’s Word. By doing so, we can cultivate a mindset rooted in faith rather than fear.

“Each of us has a measure of faith. The direction in which we place our faith will shape our decisions, perspectives, and the paths we take in life.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible love You have shown me through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Help me to hold tightly to this truth as my faith grows. Fill me with Your Spirit daily, so I can discern Your voice and overcome the lies that hold me back. Teach me to find real hope in You, especially during times when You feel distant. Guide me to share the Gospel with those around me who need to hear Your message of grace and salvation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
