April 14th 2025 – Love to the Extreme

“I blasted you with blight and mildew. When your gardens increased, your vineyards, your fig trees, and your olive trees, the locust devoured them; yet you have not returned to Me,” says the LORD. (Amos 4:9)

Throughout Scripture, we often witness the weight of God’s judgments, particularly as Israel and other nations grapple with His power. While these judgments can be sobering, it’s essential to recognize the underlying theme of grace and mercy that permeates the Old Testament. In the words of the prophets, God continually calls His people to turn away from their wrongdoing, offering forgiveness and restoration. Yes, His discipline can appear severe, but His love remains equally profound.

“But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

This is love to the extreme—the God of creation has shown us an unparalleled depth of love. While we were ensnared in sin and burdened by condemnation, He left the splendor of heaven to give His life for ours. The punishment that rightfully belonged to us was laid upon Jesus at the cross. Each nail that pierced His hands was a testament to the forgiveness He offers. Each lash of the whip that struck His body was a step toward our eternal connection with Him. All we must do is approach Jesus in repentance and trust Him for our salvation, entering into the greatest love story ever told.

“God goes to extreme measures to reveal His love for us.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge my shortcomings and the wrongs I have committed. Today, I humbly ask for Your forgiveness. I confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that He died for my sins, rising again on the third day. Transform me into a new creation and fill me with Your Spirit, guiding me to live according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

April 5th 2025 – Learn His Holy Word

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11)

In moments of uncertainty, when we grapple with decisions, the importance of Bible study becomes even more pronounced. Engaging with Scripture not only helps us discern right from wrong but also illuminates God’s purpose and direction in our lives. Take, for instance, Pilate. He knew the truth yet chose to turn away from it, a choice that resonates with many of us. We often find ourselves in similar situations, aware of the right path but hesitating to take it. This is where the concept of Bible action—applying what we learn from Scripture—comes into play. The Bible consistently calls us to be doers of the Word, urging us to translate our beliefs into tangible actions rather than merely listening passively.

The church has faced criticism for being a community of believers who, at times, falter in putting those beliefs into practice. Let us strive for a different narrative. May our dedication to Bible study ignite a flame of action within us as we seek to embrace our faith fully and fulfill the calling God has placed on our lives. The Lord who calls us is also faithful to equip us, empowering us to not only understand His Word but to live it out boldly.

“Our beliefs should lead us to action. What we claim to believe should profoundly shape the way we live. Bible study should naturally lead to Bible action.”

Heavenly Father, You created me with the desire to follow You and to embrace Your teachings. I earnestly seek to walk in Your ways and to fulfill the plans You have for my life. Grant me the wisdom to learn Your Word deeply and the courage to live it out authentically. Shield me from straying into wrongdoing, and nurture my faith as I immerse myself in Your teachings. Search my heart, O Lord, and reveal any anxious thoughts within me. Show me any offensive ways I may harbor and guide me in Your everlasting way. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 31st 2025 – The Gift of God’s Word

“What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God.” (Romans 3:1-2)

A.W. Tozer once said, “If God gave you a watch, would you honor Him more by asking Him what time it is or by simply consulting the watch?” In the same way, God has given us the ultimate instruction manual—His Word. It’s our duty to not only read it but to live by it. Let’s remember that in some parts of the world, simply owning a Bible can lead to persecution or even death. Countless Christians have faced martyrdom for the very faith and truths that many of us take for granted.

You have been blessed with a Bible and the freedom to explore its teachings. How are you treating this precious gift? Is it collecting dust on a shelf, serving as a mere decoration, or is it a vital part of your daily life? The Bible is more than just a book; it holds the power to guide you through life’s challenges. It can strengthen your marriage, nurture your children, and even transform your life—if you take the time to read, study, and apply its teachings. Remember, it is the very Word of God.

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’” (John 8:31-32)

I encourage you to immerse yourself in the Scriptures. Ensure that you and your family are part of a Bible-teaching church. Cultivate the habit of daily prayer and Bible reading. Lead your family in devotion and prayer. By being diligent in these practices, you’ll witness incredible changes, miracles, and blessings in your life and in the lives of your loved ones.

“There is both a blessing and a responsibility in having a Bible.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. I ask for Your forgiveness if I have neglected to read and study it. Ignite a hunger in my heart for Your Scriptures. Open my mind to receive Your wisdom and empower me to act upon it. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

November 15th 2024- Finding Hope in Grief

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)

Grief is a deeply personal journey, one that can feel overwhelming and isolating. When we lose someone we love, it’s natural to experience a range of emotions – sadness, anger, confusion, and even relief. In these moments, it’s essential to remember that God is near to us, especially when our hearts are broken.

Jesus Himself experienced grief, as seen in John 11:35, where He wept at the death of His friend Lazarus. It’s a powerful reminder that grief is not a sign of weakness but a testament to the love we shared with those we’ve lost.

Action Steps:

1. Acknowledge Your Feelings:

Take time to be honest with yourself about your emotions. Write them down in a journal or express them through prayer.

2. Reach Out:

Don’t hesitate to talk to friends, family, or a spiritual leader. Sharing your feelings can lighten the burden and bring support.

 3. Create a Memory Ritual:

Consider creating a special ritual to honor your loved one. This could be lighting a candle, planting a tree, or simply spending time reflecting on the happy memories you shared.

 4. Seek Comfort in Scripture:

Spend time reading passages that speak to God’s love and comfort. Psalms and the Gospels are filled with encouragement for those who mourn.

 5. Be Patient with Yourself:

Grief doesn’t have a timeline. Allow yourself the grace to heal at your own pace.

As you walk through your grief, remember that God is your refuge. He understands your pain and is there to carry you through the darkest days. Trust in His promise that one day, all tears will be wiped away, and we will be reunited with our loved ones in His eternal presence.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, in my sorrow, I turn to You for comfort and healing. Help me to navigate this painful time with Your grace. Remind me that it’s okay to grieve and that I am not alone in my suffering. May Your presence bring me peace, and may I find hope in the promise of eternal life through Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

October 31st 2024 – Armed for Spiritual Battles

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

In our walk with Christ, we often encounter spiritual battles that can leave us feeling weary and overwhelmed. These battles are not always visible, yet they are profoundly real. We find ourselves grappling with doubts, temptations, and fears, feeling the weight of these unseen struggles. However, it is essential to remember that we do not fight these battles alone.

God has equipped us with powerful resources to stand firm in the face of adversity. (Ephesians 6:10-18) reminds us to put on the “full armor of God.” Each piece of this armor serves a specific purpose in our spiritual defense. The belt of truth keeps us grounded, the breastplate of righteousness guards our hearts, and the shield of faith extinguishes the fiery darts of the enemy.

Prayer is our lifeline during these battles. It is through prayer that we communicate with God, seek His guidance, and draw strength from His promises. When we feel overwhelmed, we can cry out to Him, knowing He listens and responds. (Philippians 4:6-7) encourages us to bring our anxieties to God in prayer, and in return, He grants us peace that surpasses all understanding.

Scripture is another crucial weapon in our arsenal. Jesus Himself used the Word of God to combat temptation during His time in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). By immersing ourselves in Scripture, we can learn to recognize the lies of the enemy and replace them with the truth of God’s Word. Memorizing verses that speak to our specific battles can provide a swift response when challenges arise.

Moreover, it’s vital to surround ourselves with a community of believers. We are not meant to fight these battles in isolation. Sharing our struggles with trusted friends or mentors can provide encouragement and accountability. As (Hebrews 10:24-25) reminds us, we should not neglect gathering together, as it strengthens our resolve and faith.

Lastly, remember that victory is assured in Christ. While the battles may be fierce, the ultimate victory has already been won through His death and resurrection. We can stand firm in the hope that we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us (Romans 8:37).

“Trust in the victory that is found in Christ, and stand strong in faith.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the midst of my spiritual battles. I ask for Your strength and guidance as I face these challenges. Help me to wear the armor You have provided and to rely on Your Word and prayer. Surround me with fellow believers who can support and encourage me. Thank You for the victory that is mine through Jesus Christ. In Your name, I pray, Amen.

August 12th 2023 – Embracing God’s Call for Freedom and Liberty

Today we embark on a heartfelt reflection to better understand when it is right in God’s eyes to fight for freedom and liberty. As Christians, we are called to seek righteousness, peace, and justice. Let us explore God’s Word and discover the principles that guide us in this noble pursuit.

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” – Galatians 5:1

In the course of human history, countless individuals have fought for freedom and liberty. We see brave men and women who stood against oppression, injustice, and tyranny, guided by a deep conviction that every person is created in the image of God and deserves to live in freedom.

Unfortunately we again live in a time where “a long habit of not thinking a thing is wrong gives a superficial appearance of everything being right.” (Thomas Paine, Jan. 1776) Our constitution is continually violated and trampled upon, it raises at first a formidable outcry, but the tumult soon subsides. The propagation of false truths and demonic agendas proves to make more converts than reason.

A long and violent abuse of power, loss of our rights and freedoms is usually the means of calling the right of it into question.

As Christians, we need to find inspiration and guidance in the Bible as we seek to understand when it is right, in God’s eyes, to stand up and fight again for these fundamental rights.

The Dignity of Every Human Being:

God’s Word teaches us that every person is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Each individual carries inherent worth and dignity, regardless of their race, gender, or background. Therefore, when the rights and liberties of people are trampled upon, it is right in God’s eyes to rise up and defend those who cannot defend themselves.

Pursuing Justice and Equality:

Throughout Scripture, we witness God’s heart for justice and His call for His people to be agents of change. He commands us to “seek justice, correct oppression” (Isaiah 1:17) and to “defend the rights of the poor and needy” (Proverbs 31:9). When freedom and liberty are threatened, God’s desire for justice encourages us to take a stand against any form of injustice, advocating for equality and fairness for all.

Love, Peace, and the Pursuit of Harmony:

As followers of Christ, we are called to be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9) and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:31). While the concept of fighting may evoke images of violence, it is essential to remember that fighting for freedom and liberty can extend beyond physical confrontation. It can entail peaceful resistance, advocacy, and engaging in constructive dialogue to bring about positive change.

In conclusion, as we explore when it is right in God’s eyes to fight for freedom and liberty, we must remember that our actions should always align with the principles of love, justice, and peace that are central to the teachings of Christ. Let us be guided by the Holy Spirit to discern when to take a stand against oppression, when to defend the rights of others, and when to work towards a world where freedom and liberty flourish for all. May our pursuit be an embodiment of God’s love and grace, as we seek to make a difference in the lives of those around us.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with humble hearts, seeking Your guidance in the pursuit of freedom and liberty for all. You are the ultimate source of wisdom and understanding, and we acknowledge that we need Your direction as we navigate this tremendous situation.

Lord, we pray for the strength and courage to stand up against injustice and oppression, just as Your Son Jesus did during His time on Earth. Fill our hearts with compassion for those who are suffering, and ignite within us a burning desire to make a difference in their lives.

Grant us discernment to know when to speak out against injustice and when to extend a helping hand to those in need. May we always act in accordance with Your Word, guided by the principles of love, mercy, and justice.

If we need to fight for our freedom and liberty again, remind us to be steadfast in prayer and reliant on Your Spirit. That we recognize that true freedom comes not just from external circumstances but from the transforming work of Your Spirit within us. Help us to surrender our own selfish desires and align our hearts with Your perfect will.

Father, we lift up to You all those who are living under the weight of oppression and captivity from legalized drugs. Grant them strength, hope, and the knowledge that You are with them in their struggle. May Your presence bring comfort and healing, and may Your love and assurance prevail in their lives.

Finally, Lord, we pray for unity among Your children as we work towards the common goal of freedom and liberty for all. Help us to set aside our differences and come together in love and understanding. May our actions and words be a testament in all that we do, and our actions always reflect your love and grace. Let us be a living testimony of your selfless love, so that others will be drawn closer to you.

We offer this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen!

July 15th 2023 – God’s Perfect Plan

Have you ever experienced moments in life that felt so perfectly orchestrated, so divinely timed, that you couldn’t help but recognize it as a divine appointment? These encounters are not mere coincidences but rather glimpses of God’s guiding hand in our lives. Today, let us reflect on the beauty and significance of these divine appointments.

Proverbs 16:9 – “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

In our journey of faith, it’s easy to become consumed with our own plans and ambitions. We meticulously map out our lives, striving for control and certainty. However, God’s ways are higher than ours, and He often has a greater purpose in mind. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that while we may plan our course, it is the Lord who establishes our steps.

Divine appointments are those extraordinary moments when God graciously interrupts our plans, leading us to encounters that transform our lives and the lives of others. They may manifest as unexpected conversations, chance meetings, or divine interventions in seemingly insignificant circumstances. These appointments are not random; they are carefully orchestrated by our loving Heavenly Father who knows the desires of our hearts and the paths we need to walk.

When we encounter a divine appointment, it is vital to have eyes of faith that recognize God’s hand at work. These moments carry profound meaning and provide us with an opportunity to grow in our relationship with Him. They remind us that God is intimately involved in every aspect of our lives, guiding us towards His perfect plan.

Moreover, divine appointments also call us to be vessels of God’s love and grace. As we remain open and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, we can become instruments of blessing in the lives of others. Just as Philip was obedient to the divine appointment with the Ethiopian eunuch, we too can be used by God to share His truth, offer comfort, and extend a helping hand.

Let us approach each day with a sense of expectancy, knowing that God may have a divine appointment in store for us. As we surrender our plans and trust in His providence, we allow Him to lead us on extraordinary paths that align with His purpose.

May we be diligent in recognizing and embracing these divine appointments, for they are precious gifts from our Heavenly Father. Let us commit ourselves to prayer, asking God to grant us discernment and wisdom to recognize and respond to His divine interventions.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with hearts full of gratitude and awe for the divine appointments You have orchestrated in our lives. We acknowledge that Your ways are higher than ours, and You have a perfect plan for each of us. Thank You for the times when You have interrupted our plans and led us to encounters that have changed our lives.

Lord, we pray for open hearts and minds to recognize these divine appointments when they come. Help us to discern Your leading and guidance in every situation. Give us the wisdom to understand that these appointments are not mere coincidences but divine interventions orchestrated by Your loving hand.

Lord, we surrender our plans and ambitions to You. We confess that we often fall into the trap of seeking control and certainty. Help us to trust Your providence and have faith that You are working all things together for our good.

As You lead us into divine appointments, Lord, equip us to be vessels of Your love and grace. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may speak words of encouragement and truth to those we encounter. Give us the discernment to listen attentively and respond with compassion and empathy.

May our lives reflect Your love and light in the midst of these divine encounters. Help us to be sensitive to the needs of others, offering a helping hand and a listening ear. Use us, Father, to be instruments of Your peace, comfort, and hope.

Lord, we humbly ask that You continue to guide our steps and establish our paths. We trust in Your divine timing and Your perfect plan for our lives. As we walk in faith, grant us the courage to embrace the unexpected appointments You have in store for us. We pray all this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

July 5th 2023 – Loyalty Through Christ’s Example

It’s often a good idea to reflect upon the significance of loyalty in our lives as followers of Jesus. Loyalty is a virtue that not only strengthens our relationships with one another but also deepens our connection with our Lord. Let us dive into God’s Word and discover how we can cultivate unwavering loyalty in our lives.

Proverbs 3:3-4 says, “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.”

Loyalty is an essential attribute that reflects the character of Christ in us. As Christians, we are called to demonstrate loyalty in our relationships with God, our fellow believers, and the world around us. Our loyalty should be rooted in love and faithfulness, just as Proverbs 3:3-4 reminds us.

Our loyalty to God is the foundation of our faith. It involves wholeheartedly committing ourselves to Him, trusting in His promises, and obeying His commandments. Loyalty to God means seeking His presence daily through prayer, studying His Word, and surrendering our lives to His will. Let us be devoted to serving Him faithfully, even in the face of challenges or temptations.

As members of the body of Christ, we are called to love and support one another. Loyalty to our fellow believers means standing by their side, offering encouragement, and demonstrating unwavering commitment. Let us strive to build authentic relationships, bearing each other’s burdens, and rejoicing in one another’s victories. In times of conflict or disagreement, let our loyalty be a unifying force, promoting forgiveness and reconciliation.

Our loyalty should extend beyond the walls of our churches, reaching out to a broken world desperately in need of God’s love. We are called to be ambassadors of Christ, shining His light in every sphere of our lives. Our loyalty be evident in our integrity, honesty, and compassion towards all people, regardless of their background or beliefs.

Psalm 136:26 “Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.”

Take some time today to:

1.  Reflect on your loyalty to God. Are there areas in your life where you can deepen your commitment to Him? Seek His guidance and ask for His strength to remain steadfast in your faith.

2.  Examine your relationships with fellow believers. Are there any instances where you can demonstrate greater loyalty, support, or unity? Pray for wisdom and take steps to foster loyalty with other Christians you know.

3.  Consider your interactions with the world around you. How can you demonstrate loyalty, love, and compassion to those who may not yet know Christ? Pray for opportunities to be a witness and allow God’s loyalty to flow through you.

loyalty is a powerful virtue that has the potential to transform our lives and impact those around us. Let us strive to cultivate unwavering loyalty in our relationship with God, with our fellow believers, and with the world. As we embrace loyalty rooted in love and faithfulness, we will experience the favor of God and become beacons of His grace and truth.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, grateful for Your unwavering love and faithfulness in our lives. You are the epitome of loyalty, and we are in awe of Your steadfastness. Lord, we humbly ask for Your guidance as we seek to cultivate loyalty in our hearts and actions.

Help us, Lord, to be loyal to You above all else. May our hearts be steadfast in seeking Your will and following Your commandments. Strengthen our faith, that we may trust in Your promises and remain devoted to You even in the face of trials and temptations. Fill us with a deep desire to honor You with our lives, knowing that Your love endures forever.

Lord, we also ask for Your grace in being loyal to Your Word. Open our hearts and minds to understand the truths contained within Scripture. May we eagerly study Your Word, meditate on its teachings, and apply them in our daily lives. Help us to live in accordance with Your commands, that our loyalty to You may be evident to all.

We pray for the grace to be loyal to one another as You are loyal to us. Teach us to love one another with a selfless and sacrificial love. May we stand by each other’s side, supporting and encouraging one another in our journey of faith. Give us compassionate hearts that seek to serve and uplift our brothers and sisters in Christ. Help us to forgive and reconcile, knowing that true loyalty is demonstrated through unity and harmony.

Lord, we confess that at times our loyalty wavers and our hearts become divided. Forgive us for our shortcomings and strengthen us to be faithful in all areas of our lives. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in loyalty and honor You in everything we do.

In Your precious name, Amen.

If you have never experienced the love of God through a relationship with Jesus then come to Him today. He will never turn you away.

September 3rd 2015 – God’s Holy Word Heals!

images-124

“He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” (Psalms 107:20)

When God our Father gave us His Word, it was to provide for all of our needs as we live our lives.  His Word provides for our spiritual needs, mental needs, and physical needs. Our God is a good God who loves His children and wants us to have a blessed life here on earth.

Jesus said “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

While we are in this world we will have things come against us and attack us.  That is why He has given us His Word, to overcome the enemy and the attacks of life.  The armor of God is for our protection and the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God to defeat the enemy.

God has given us an amazing arsenal of weapons to keep the devil in his place until Jesus returns.  Too many times we don’t take the time to find out what these weapons are that God has given us and we miss out on so many of the blessings of our Father.

As we look at the subject of healing so many people say, well whatever the Father’s will is, that’s what I will get.  But we see from today’s verse that God’s will is to heal us.  He only wants the best for us and He cares for us in each part of our being.

So today, receive His Word concerning healing, and let the Great Physician heal you or someone you love.. Yes, God has healed us spiritually, but He also sent His Word to heal us physically. His Word was sent to us to deliver us and to set us free as we walk through life’s journey. So never think that you are alone.  His Word is always with us to give us the victory in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Heavenly Father, We love you and praise you. You sent Your word to heal us. We come before you humbled and broken, we ask your full healing in our lives, Today, we ask and prepare ourselves to receive healing spiritually, mentally, and physically over our bodies.  Your healing is a complete healing.  Thank you Father, for your complete work being done in us..
