November 3rd 2026 – Right Place, Right Path

Scripture Reference:

“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. (1 Corinthians 10:23)

Reflection:

The Bible doesn’t give Christians a universal list of places to avoid. Jesus spent time with people others rejected, and he calls us to bring his love into the world. But that doesn’t mean every setting is wise for every person.

A better question than “Is this place forbidden?” may be “Will being here help me love God and others—or make it harder to live faithfully?” Some places or situations can pull us toward temptation, compromise our values, put us in danger, or make it difficult to keep healthy boundaries. Avoiding them can be an act of wisdom, not fear.

At the same time, we shouldn’t mistake simply being near people who believe or live differently for wrongdoing. Christians are called to be present in the world without being shaped by everything in it. Ask God for discernment, consider your motives, and be honest about your vulnerabilities.

Is there a place or situation where I need clearer boundaries—or a place where I’m being called to show Christ’s love?

“Not every place is forbidden, but wisdom asks whether it helps us draw nearer to God—or draws us away.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, give me wisdom to recognize the places and situations that strengthen my faith, and courage to step away from anything that pulls me from you. Help me examine my motives honestly and choose what is good, not merely what is permitted. When I enter places where people need kindness, let me carry your compassion without compromising the values you have taught me.

Guard my heart and mind when I feel pressured to go along with what I know isn’t right. Help me set healthy boundaries without judging others, and remind me that your presence can guide me wherever I go. When I’m uncertain, quiet my thoughts so I can seek your direction through prayer and Scripture. Give me humility to listen to wise counsel and strength to follow through on the choices that honor you.

May my words and actions reflect your love. Keep me close to you, and help me be a light to others while remaining rooted in your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
