October 8th 2018 – Cast Away Anxiousness

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:16)

I like the candor of Scripture. If the bible says “Don’t be anxious about anything,” we can be sure it’s because there are things that will cause us anxiety. This world is filled with evil, and it will touch our lives. Yet Scripture says, “Don’t be anxious.” Yes, there are things that cause anxiety, but anxiety doesn’t have to dominate us. How can that be? Because we are to give our anxieties to God with prayer and petition and thanksgiving, and then the peace of God will guard our hearts and our minds. God is the difference maker. Can you live your life apart from God? Certainly. But our thoughts and emotions are a battlefield, and when you invite God into your life He will fight that battle for you.

(1 Peter 5:7) “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

“When we filter our emotions through God’s Word, we will find peace, joy and the ability to persevere no matter the circumstance we face.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You asking for Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Holy Spirit, I ask for Your intervention into my thoughts when I am feeling anxious. Remind me that the Father has promised to guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

October 6th 2018 – Miraculous Healing

Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.” (James 5:14-15)

I believe that God continues to heal today. We know He has built into our bodies a natural process in which miraculously heals us over time. But I believe God can quicken the healing process.

I also believe that He can definitely do a miracle when we have been told there is no hope. I have seen  many of these miracles myself. God promises His healing touch and tells us that by His stripes we are healed. So we should ask God to heal us when we are facing sickness.

In James 5, we are given the scriptural pattern for healing: “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”

It is interesting that the Bible does not say, “Is anyone among you sick? Then go find a “faith healer.” I’m not suggesting that miracles didn’t take place in the early church because they certainly did. I’m not saying that healing wasn’t done by faith because it was. My point is that it never was the focus of the apostles. The early church didn’t follow signs and wonders because the signs and wonders followed them. This is an important distinction.

We can go to God and ask Him to heal. I thank God that healing is available to us today. But we make a mistake when we focus on act of healing. Instead we should focus on the proclamation of God’s Word and leave the miracles, healings, and the rest up to God to do as He sovereignly chooses.

“Choose to believe that God still heals miraculously!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, your Word speaks promises of healing and restoration and I thank you for the miracles You still perform today. Today I claim those promises over myself. I believe in the healing power of faith and prayer and I ask you to begin your mighty work in my life. Please reach down and surround me with supernatural peace and strength and increases my faith to have no doubt at all that all things are possible in you. Protect me from Satan’s lies and discouragement and let my miraculous healing begin. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

October 2nd 2018 – It’s Time To Put God First

“One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.” (Psalm 27:4)

Many times in life we go after things, but this scripture states that all we need is one thing.  What is that “One Thing” that we should desire over anything?  What is that “One Thing” that should burn in our hearts?  I know for me, it is to know Him.  I have found that when I put Him first, everything just seems to work out.

Jesus said it this way in (Matthew 6:33) “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

As we seek Him first and make Him the main part of our lives, it just seems that everything comes together.

So today, make a decision to make Him the “One Thing” that you desire above anything.  Fall in love with Him, and enjoy His goodness.  Your Heavenly Father loves you so dearly and only wants the best for you.

He desires “One Thing” more than anything, and that “One Thing” that He desires is you.  Sometimes that seems so hard to fathom, but it is true!  Anyone who would take the time to count every hair on my head must truly love me.  So enjoy Him, let Him enjoy you, and you will see that the “One Thing” is the best thing!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to You humbled and broken, Please forgive for not always seeking You first in everything I do. Today, I choose the “One Thing” that is the best thing, my Heavenly Father, and I make You the main thing in my life today.  You are my number one!In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, Don’t wait! In a flash of a second it could be too late!” Click Here to read Four Simple Steps to Jesus.

September 25th 2018 – Come, I Will Give You Rest

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.” (Revelation 22:17)

In 2005 I experienced compounding events that ripped my world apart. It wasn’t only that my wife (who was also my best friend) decided to walk out of our children’s and my life without notice, without explanation. I also had a stroke not long after caused by the stress and anxiety of the breakup, trying to strong for our young children and continue to run our business.

I won’t go the details of the next five excruciating years of rehab and trying to relearn how to function and think clearly, how to do the things I used to take for granted everyday. But out of that tragedy, I found the Lord, I started a new life, and eventually with lots of prayer He granted me beautiful Christian wife and best friend.

In June of 2012, I’m my quiet time with the Lord, I felt the Lord prompting me to share His word and message to others. To share my testimony of how He rescued me and started the process of restoration in my personal life.

Scriptural Seeds was started by Roy and myself to honor the Lord and share biblical teachings of the scriptures, no personal opinions just Gods word and application in daily devotions.

The first three years were posted on only facebook and the following five years was on the Scriptural Seeds website.

Not one day has passed that we have not posted the Seed daily 2200 days consecutively close to 8,000 hours of writing. Countless hours of prayers. It still humbles me that we get on average 40,000 views a day worldwide. Even with all the trials and opposition from the enemy for sharing Gods word, close to 100,000 people have come to personally know Jesus Christ via this ministry. All because of surendering to the Lords prompting and making the commitment to be present and serve Him daily. Jesus did the rest.

However, the opening scripture represents something all of us really want: rest, relaxation, and time off. I have to remind myself that even Jesus took time off. In Mark we read,

Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves. (6:30–32)

Imangine the conversation.

(Apostles) “Lord, this happened. That happened.”

(Jesus) “Have you guys had lunch yet?”

(Apostles) “We are too busy to eat.”

(Jesus) “Come on. Let’s get some lunch. Relax a little bit. You need to rest. You need to recharge. Come aside with Me.”

If we don’t come aside, then we will come apart.

Jesus has something to say to the person who is exhausted and worn out. He has something to say to people who have been chewed up and spit out by life — people who are frustrated, who are hurting. Here is His personal offer of rest to those who will respond: “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light” (Matthew 11:28-30)

This passage above gives us the Christian life in a nutshell. Here we see what it is to come to, to know, and to walk with Jesus Christ. This invitation stands today, but it won’t stay that way forever. What is the invitation? Jesus says, “Come to Me.”

That’s it? Yes, that’s it.

It’s so simple, yet so profound. And we see this same invitation echoed throughout Scripture. It all begins with coming to God . . . approaching Him . . . seeking Him . . . opening our hearts to Him. Never doubt it. He will respond.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we call upon You in the middle of our exhaustion, That You give us the strength to heavy burdens. We long to feel the warmth and love of Your divine compassion. Be mindful of us and have mercy on us while we struggle in life’s hardships that come. When fear and panic, shock and dismay are close by, so are you. May we always recconize you , Keep us ever in Your watch until these times of opposition of life pass. Thank you for the Church Body. In Jesus’ precious and glorious name, Amen.

Personal Prayer Request.

I personally am facing complete exhaustion, These events came in the form of spiritual attacks. The enemy has been orchestrating opposition around every corner for a very long time, I can actually relate to the book of Job. I do trust and seek the Lord daily. I keep pushing forward, in the midst of the chaos. But I feel weak, exhausted. I know God loves me, I know God can help us with the circumstances. I now petition the Church Body to pray for my wife and I. That by some miracle the circumstances will change and we could have a time of relief and not opposition for sharing Gods word in such a lost world.

We have never asked for or received any donations. However we have reached a point where I am asking God for a new direction and answers. The emails, and request are overwhelming to me. I am not only strained from 50 hr a week career, the Seeds takes another 30 hrs.  I am weary and exhausted..

If you personally feel prompted to pray, volunteer or feel led to help support this ministry, so much more can be done to minister and share Gods word. Please reach out and contact me at roblavallee@gmail.com

September 22nd 2018 – The Journey

“Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.” (Genesis 28:10-11)

Jacob had quite a journey in front of him. He would be traveling hundreds of miles to eventually reach his destination. Even though Rebekah and Isaac sent him to find a wife, the reality of his brother Esau wanting to kill him was there. This journey was not like the journey we would be taking today. This would be a journey in a wilderness, traveled by foot. At this point in the journey Jacob had been walking all day. He was tired enough to lay his head on a stone and fall asleep.

Right before this journey we see that Jacob received a promise from his father. He was told that he would have the fat of the land, plenty of grain and wheat, people would serve him, and that he would inherit land. Now in the wilderness, on the run from his brother, that thought had to be conflicting. It would be to anyone? Jacob had been told that he would inherit the promise, but the promise was yet to come.

Do you find yourself there today? Has God given you a word for your life, but you are stuck between the promise and fulfillment of the promise. Take heart because God is using scenarios in your life to do an amazing work in your life. God will fulfill His promise in due time. In the meantime He is doing a transformative work in your life.

“When you find yourself in the place between the promises and fulfillment, Take heart that He is doing a transformative work in you.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for always working on my behalf. Give me the strength to Trust You in the good times and bad. I am thankful You are always faithful even when I question or don’t understand. Continue to do Your work in my heart. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

September 21st 2018 – Ones Motives, Why?

“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God. ” (1 Corinthians 4:5)

We may be able to evaluate what people do, but we cannot evaluate the motive of why they do it. Only God can.

Some believers give up certain pleasures and activities because they don’t want it to interfere with their spiritual lives . Someone might look at them and say’ “They missed out big time!”

Or, when someone with leaves a promising career decides instead to go to into fulltime ministry, someone might say, “Are they nuts, that don’t pay squat!”

Still others will decide to simply live for themselves and do whatever they want to do with their lives. And then God may ask you, “I gave you life, what did you do with it?”

Let’s not be so quick to judge another person’s heart. We can’t see his or her heart. Rather, let’s judge our own hearts and why we do things. The apostle Paul wrote to the believers at Corinth, “Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God” (1 Corinthians 4:5).

I think that one day, the people who took the time for God’s Word, for worship, and for serving the Lord will be glad they did. And I also think the people who didn’t take time for those things, will realize how much they wish they had with their lives.

It has been said, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I ought to do. And what I ought to do, by the grace of God, I will do.”

“We can’t change the past. But we can decide what we are going to do in the present and how we are going to live in the future.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank you for loving me enough to sacrifice Your Son to be able to wash away my sins so that I would have the opportunity to have a relationship with You. Thank you for Your Word that shows me the way to live a Christ centered life. Thank you for Your Spirit that allows me to live a life where I can make a choice to share what You did for me to a lost and dying world. Please help me to continually examine my life and make sure I am not neglecting the areas where I could do something to glorify You Lord. Please give me daily courage and strengh. Continue to shape me more into the image of Your Son so that I may help others as You did me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

September 20th 2018 – The Spiritual Solution

For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right” (Psalm 84:11)

As Christian’s there are times in our lives where we experience times and situations where things look rather bleak. We may not understand why, but what we need to remember is to call on the name of the Lord, and He will intervene.

Here in our nation, if you watch the news and listen to the arguments and pointing fingers between the political parties, things are looking rather bleak. But God says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

This is basically what God is saying, “Check this out. Call on Me, and watch what I will do. Pray right now for a revival in your land. Watch how I will intervene.”

It is God’s desire to bless us. And did you know that God wants to bless us even more than we want to be blessed? Psalm 84:11 tells us, “For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

Often the reason we pray is because we have a need, we have a crisis. We need a healing . . . we need direction . . . we need financial provision. We pray because we are in trouble. It is not as though God simply gives us everything we have ever wanted and our lives are free of problems or conflicts. Rather, God will allow conflict in our lives so we will see our own weakness and then see the greatness of God as we depend on Him.

I don’t believe the ultimate need of our nation will be solved by a new president or by new members of Congress and Senate. I believe the real need for America will be met by a spiritual solution. Therefore, we need to pray for true healing for our nation and ask for revival!

“God will allow conflict in our lives so we will see our own weakness.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the Bible. It is through these pages that we find life and light. Within Your Word, there is the story of our salvation in Christ and instruction on how we can live victorious lives. Teach me Your ways and help me grow in wisdom and understanding. Father, we pray not for shallow selfish ends, but for Your great glory and kingdom. Cause us to come to You in true humility, brokenness and contriteness of heart. May this be time Lord, that this nation falls on its knees in prayer and that a revival sweeps across our land and true healing can begin because of changed hearts, A Great Awakening! In Jesus’ Glorious and Holy Name. Amen!

September 16th 2018 – Trusting God In All Things

“But [Joseph] did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus” (Matthew 1:25)

Some people are good at the immediate. They can jump right into anything, but they are not always good at “keeping on keeping on.” And other people are good at lasting, but it takes them a long time to get there.

To live the exciting life of faith that God has planned for you, you need to be good at both the immediate and the lasting. And both of those require that you keep on trusting in God.

Joseph didn’t understand what it meant for Jesus to have a virgin birth, he didn’t understand Jesus would be God in human flesh. But he knew what God told him to do, so Joseph kept on trusting. He was a newlywed who didn’t get a honeymoon, and his new marriage was not anything like he planned, but he still kept trusting.

What are you going to do when life doesn’t work out like you planned or wanted?

I want to encouraged you by what the Apostle Paul says in (2 Corinthians 4:8) “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but not crushed and broken. We are perplexed because we don’t know why things happen as they do, but we don’t give up and quit”.

I don’t know why some people are diagnosed with terminal cancer. I don’t know why some children rebel so strongly against their parents. I don’t know why so many things happen that don’t make sense. So it’s encouraging to hear one of the greatest men of faith say, “I don’t know why things happen as they do, but I still choose to not give up.”

It’s good to know that we can trust God and that he knows things we don’t. He has promised that one day He will set everything right. One day He will bring together everyone who trusts in him.

Until then there are two ways you can live your life. You can live feeling like God owes you an explanation or you can live realizing God has given you great gifts.

If you live life feeling like God owes you an explanation, you will only wind up in a constant state of bitterness, because God doesn’t owe you anything.

But even though He doesn’t owe you anything, He has given you everything. He gave you his own Son. He gave you the gift of eternal life. He gave you the promise of being together with him forever. Those are great gifts.

“Do you trust God for the things that you don’t understand? Or do you seek the answers for yourself”

“When we don’t understand what God is doing in our life, consider the source – Who is it that you’re trusting, God or yourself?”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I ask that you place within me your obedient spirit so that I may be obedient to your instruction.  Help me Lord to walk by faith and not by sight.  I don’t always understand what you’re doing in my life, but I make a decision to trust you God, In all things, I ask that you place within me your spirit of joy, peace and rest to endure all that comes my way. Right now, I make a decision to trust you Lord because I know that you’re in control of my life even when my life seems to be out of control. Lord, I thank you for clarity, guidance, provision and strength.  I pray and ask for these things in Jesus name’ Amen.

September 7th 2018 – Cultivate Hope and Faith

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.” (Romans 5:3-4)

Have you ever prayed for someone and the situations in their life got worse, or their ilness got worse, maybe they even died?

In our estimation, sometimes things go the wrong way. We may pray, “Lord, heal this person. Be glorified through this.”

But the Lord might say, “I will be glorified, but I’m not going to do it the way you want Me to. I have a different plan instead.”

Sometimes God will remove the affliction. Sometimes God will heal the illness. Sometimes God will take away the cancer. But sometimes the person will get worse.

We don’t usually like that. But it is in these times that God can be glorified. Everyone suffers in life. Christians suffer too. When a Christian is suffering and can still glorify God, that is a powerful testimony to a lost world. When non-Christians see us honoring the Lord through our suffering, it shows them how real our faith is. And guess what? It shows us how real our faith is too.

“When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.  For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. (James 1:2-3)

Do you think that our faith would get stronger if everything were easy in life? Unfortunately, the truth is that our faith can only get stronger through our hardships. The opening scripture today teaches us that we develop hope and faith through tribulation. Romans 5:3–4 “But we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

Hope grows in the garden of pain. It doesn’t grow without challenges or difficulty. It grows in hard times. We develop strength through our weaknesses. This is true in our spiritual lives as well.

Jesus is the only one who can give me the fruitful life I long for. I cannot get it by trying harder, but rather by opening my life to Him, letting Him eradicate the weeds of worry in our lives while cultivating contentment and trust. Hope along with trust grows when we surrender to Jesus.

“In life, we should think more about how great God is and less about how great our troubles are.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I love You and give You praises for still being here and loving us in such a time like this. The world is ungreatful and broken.. I know that I can often lose sight of hope and faith while I’m in the middle of hard times. Help me to be mindful of Your love, mercy, compassion and strength so that I can endure and even rejoice in the middle of my troubles and pain. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I may live in hope and have an abundance of faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

August 15th 2018 – Dare to Dream Big

“Now glory be to God, by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of — infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.” (Ephesians 3:20)

Faith is choosing and believing God’s dream for your life. Nothing starts happening in your life until you start dreaming. God gave you the ability to dream, to create, to imagine. Dreaming is an act of faith. Everything you see on this planet started as a dream.

So, how do you get God’s dream for your life? You do three things:

First: “Dare to ask for it!”

(Ephesians 3:20) says,“Now glory be to God, by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of — infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.”

If you want God’s blessing on your life this year, you must dare to ask for it. You must say, “God, what’s your dream for my life? What do you want me to do?” Then you ask yourself, “What would I attempt for God if I knew I couldn’t fail?” Let that expand your vision.

Second:” Believe God’s promises!”

The Bible says in (Jeremiah 32:27), “I am the LORD, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?”

Never let an impossible situation intimidate you. Let it motivate you to pray more, believe more, trust more, experience more, learn more, and grow more. Faith always works in the realm of the impossible.

Many years ago I heard a Pastor say “Dare to dream impossible dreams! God is able to manifest the desires He places in your heart for His good Will by your faith.” God’s will in your life: impossible, possible, and done.

Third: “Dream Big!” Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.” (Psalm 2:8).

The size of your God should determine the size of your goal. You haven’t really believed God until you’ve attempted something that can’t be done in the power of the flesh. If you want to know how big your dream should be, ask yourself two questions: How much time do you have to give to it? If it’s a dream you can give the rest of your life to, then you can really dream big.

What are you shaped to do? What are your spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences — the five things that make you “You. What do you love to do? What are you gifted to do?

“Dream great dreams for God. It’s the first step in your walk of faith.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me a solid word from scripture that I can trust in. Thank you for confirming Your Word. Please help me to be consistent in reading Your word and listening to Your Spirit in all I do, Nothing is impossible with You by my side, where I dare to dream big, dare to set high goals, Help me plan, help me to Dream Big! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
