July 14th 2023 – Submitting to God’s Guidance

Let’s look at this powerful message found in James 4:7. The verse below encourages us to submit ourselves to God and resist the devil. Let us delve into the importance of surrendering to God’s will and the strength we can find in Him.

James 4:7 – “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

The verse reminds us that our relationship with God requires an active and intentional submission to His authority. When we submit ourselves to God, we acknowledge His sovereignty and surrender our own desires and plans. This act of surrender is not a sign of weakness, but rather an act of trust and faith in God’s wisdom and goodness.

In our journey of faith, we are bound to encounter challenges and temptations. The verse also emphasizes the importance of resisting the devil. The devil seeks to deceive and distract us from God’s purpose for our lives. However, when we stand firm in our faith and resist the devil’s lies, he will flee from us. This resistance is not something we can accomplish on our own, but by relying on God’s strength, we can overcome any temptation that comes our way.

Submission to God is not a one-time event but a continuous process. It requires us to align our thoughts, actions, and desires with God’s will. In doing so, we open ourselves up to His guidance and direction. As we surrender control to God, we find peace, joy, and fulfillment that can only come from walking in His ways.

1. Prayer: Take time each day to submit yourself to God in prayer. Ask for His guidance and strength to resist the devil’s temptations.

2. Meditate on Scripture: Reflect on God’s Word daily to gain a deeper understanding of His will for your life. James 1:22 encourages us not only to hear the Word but to live it out.

3. Seek Godly counsel: Surround yourself with fellow believers who can offer wisdom and support as you navigate life’s challenges.

4. Trust in God’s promises: Remind yourself of God’s faithfulness and trust that He will give you the strength to overcome any temptation or trial.

As we conclude, let us remember the importance of submitting ourselves to God’s authority. By doing so, we can resist the devil’s lies and find strength in God’s guidance. May we continually seek His will, trusting that He will lead us on the path of righteousness. Let us embrace this verse as a reminder of the power and love of our Heavenly Father.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, humbled by Your love and grateful for Your guidance in our lives. We acknowledge that You are the sovereign Lord, and we surrender ourselves to Your authority. Help us to submit our will, plans, and desires to You, knowing that You have a perfect plan for us. We confess that at times we have allowed the distractions and temptations of this world to lead us astray. We ask for Your forgiveness for the times we have not resisted the devil’s lies and fallen into sin. Strengthen us, Lord, to stand firm in our faith and resist the schemes of the enemy.

Grant us the wisdom to discern Your will and the courage to follow it wholeheartedly. Fill our minds with Your Word, that we may meditate on it day and night, finding guidance and encouragement in its truth. Help us to live out Your Word in our daily lives, reflecting Your love, grace, and mercy to those around us.

Lord, we pray for a heart that is willing to seek godly counsel. Surround us with wise and faithful believers who can provide guidance, support, and accountability. Help us to listen attentively to their counsel and advice, discerning what aligns with Your will.

Please remind us of Your promises when we face trials and temptations. Strengthen our faith and trust in You, knowing that You are faithful to give us the strength to overcome any obstacle. Help us to trust in Your timing and plan, even when it seems difficult or unclear. We thank You for Your unfailing love and grace. May our lives be a testimony of Your goodness and may we bring glory to Your name through our submission to Your guidance. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

July 11th 2023 – Trusting God When Feeling Let Down

Life has a way of bringing disappointments and letdowns that can leave us feeling downcast and discouraged. We may have experienced unmet expectations, broken promises, or dreams that seemed to crumble before our eyes. In these moments, it’s easy to question God’s plan and wonder why things didn’t turn out as we hoped. However, it is precisely in these times of disappointment that our faith can grow deeper, and our trust in God can be strengthened.

Psalm 42:11 – “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”

The psalmist in Psalm 42 cries out, “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me?” These questions resonate with our own struggles when we feel let down. But the psalmist doesn’t stop there; they offer a powerful solution: “Put your hope in God.”

When we feel let down, it’s crucial to redirect our focus and place our trust in God. We can find comfort and solace in knowing that God is always with us, even in our disappointments. He sees our pain and understands our heartache. He longs to bring healing and restoration to our weary souls.

Remember, Jesus Himself experienced deep disappointment. He was let down by His closest friends who deserted Him in His hour of need. Yet, even in His darkest moments, He put His trust in God. He surrendered to the Father’s will, knowing that His plan was greater than any disappointment or betrayal He faced.

In seasons of letdown, let us follow Jesus’ example by praising God in the midst of our pain. Let us acknowledge that He is our Savior and our God, who never leaves us nor forsakes us. As we cultivate an attitude of praise, our perspective shifts, and we begin to see God’s faithfulness and goodness even in the midst of disappointment.

While disappointment may linger, we can find hope in knowing that God’s plans are higher than our own. He can take our shattered dreams and transform them into something beautiful. His timing is perfect, and He works all things together for our good.

So, in times of letdown, let us choose to trust God. Let us put our hope in Him, knowing that He is faithful and will guide us through every disappointment. May we find strength in our relationship with Him, knowing that He has a purpose and a plan for our lives, even when things don’t turn out as we expected.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to You today with a heavy heart, feeling let down and disappointed. Help me to trust in Your plan and to put my hope in You. Remind me of Your faithfulness and goodness, even in the midst of my disappointments. Give me the strength to praise You in all circumstances and to surrender my disappointments into Your capable hands. Guide me and lead me according to Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Take a moment to reflect on God’s faithfulness and His promise to work all things together for your good. Trust that He is with you in every disappointment and that He will bring beauty out of ashes. Keep your hope in Him, for He is your Savior and your God.

July 9th 2023 – God’s Compassion and Power to Heal

Today, let’s reflect on the profound gift of healing that our Lord has bestowed upon us. Throughout the pages of the Bible, we witness countless examples of God’s compassion and power to heal the brokenness in our lives. It is through His grace and love that we find restoration, both in body and spirit.

Isaiah 53:5 – “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

In the book of Isaiah, we are reminded that it is the Lord who heals our diseases and binds up our wounds. His divine touch brings forth miraculous healing, mending the deepest pains and restoring us to wholeness. It is through His Son, Jesus Christ, that we find ultimate healing, for He bore our sins and infirmities on the cross, offering us redemption and eternal life.

As followers of Christ, we are called to not only seek healing for ourselves but to also become vessels of His healing for others. We are encouraged to extend the love and compassion of Jesus to those who are hurting and broken, just as He did during His earthly ministry. Through prayer, laying on of hands, and speaking words of encouragement, we have the privilege to participate in the healing work of our Lord.

However, we must also recognize that healing does not always occur in the way we expect or desire. Sometimes, physical ailments persist, emotional wounds linger, and the answers to our prayers seem elusive. In these moments, we are called to trust in God’s sovereignty and wisdom. He alone knows what is best for us, and He promises to be with us in every season of life.

Even if complete physical healing is not granted in this earthly realm, we can find solace in the spiritual healing that God offers. His grace is sufficient to carry us through any affliction, providing comfort, peace, and strength. Through our trials, we are refined and transformed, drawing closer to God and becoming more like His Son, Jesus Christ.

Let us also remember that healing extends beyond the physical realm. Our souls require healing from the wounds of sin, guilt, and shame. It is through the power of Christ’s sacrifice and forgiveness that we find true spiritual healing. As we surrender our brokenness to Him, He washes away our sins and fills us with His perfect love and peace.

Today, let us approach the throne of grace with faith and confidence, seeking God’s healing touch in our lives. Whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual healing, we can trust that our Heavenly Father hears our prayers and responds according to His perfect will. Let us also strive to be instruments of His healing, bringing hope and restoration to those around us.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, We come before you today, seeking your healing touch in our lives. We lay our burdens and ailments at your feet, trusting in your power to restore and renew us. Lord, we believe that you are the Great Physician, capable of healing every affliction, both physical and spiritual.

In the name of Jesus, we ask for your healing presence to flow through our bodies, bringing strength, comfort, and restoration. Touch every area of pain, sickness, and disease, and replace it with your divine health. We declare that by your stripes, we are healed.

Lord, we also ask for emotional and spiritual healing. Mend the brokenness within our hearts and minds, and bring peace and wholeness to our souls. Heal us from the wounds of the past, and fill us with your love, joy, and peace that surpasses all understanding.

We pray not only for ourselves but also for those around us who are in need of healing. Reach out your hand and touch them with your grace and mercy. Use us as instruments of your healing, that we may bring hope and comfort to those who are hurting.

As we await your healing touch, grant us patience, faith, and trust in your perfect timing. Help us to surrender our worries and fears, knowing that you are in control and have a plan for our lives. May your will be done, and may your healing power be manifest in our lives for your glory.

In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.

If you have never experienced the love of God through a relationship with Jesus then come to Him today. He will never turn you away.

July 8th 2023 – Trusting in God’s Guidance

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

In our journey of faith, there are times when we may feel unsure or overwhelmed by the decisions we need to make. We may find ourselves at a crossroads, uncertain of which path to take. In these moments, it is crucial to trust in God’s guidance.

The book of Proverbs reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and to not rely solely on our own understanding. As human beings, we often try to figure things out on our own, relying on our own logic and reasoning. However, God’s ways are higher than ours, and His wisdom surpasses our own understanding.

Trusting in God’s guidance requires humility and surrender. It means acknowledging that we don’t have all the answers, but God does. It means submitting our plans, desires, and decisions to Him, allowing Him to direct our steps. When we surrender to God, He promises to make our paths straight.

Take a moment today to reflect on the areas of your life where you may be struggling with decisions or feeling uncertain. Surrender those concerns to God and ask Him for His guidance. Trust that He will lead you in the right direction, even if it may not align with your initial plans. Remember that God’s plans are always greater and more beautiful than we can imagine

Heavenly Father, I come before You today with a humble heart, acknowledging that I need Your guidance in my life. Help me to trust You with all my heart, and to lean not on my own understanding. I submit my plans, decisions, and desires to You. Guide me, Lord, and make my paths straight. Thank You for Your unfailing love and wisdom. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer:

If you have never experienced the love of God through a relationship with Jesus then come to Him today. He will never turn you away.

July 7th 2023 – New Beginnings Through God’s Grace

As we embark on a new day, we are often filled with a sense of anticipation and hope. New beginnings allow us to leave behind the past, wipe the slate clean, and embrace the possibilities that lie ahead. In our Christian journey, we are blessed with the promise of new beginnings through the transformative power of God’s grace.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17, The Apostle Paul reminds us that when we come to Christ, we become new creations. Our past mistakes, regrets, and shortcomings no longer define us. Instead, we are given a fresh start, a chance to begin again. This newness is not something we can create on our own, but rather a gift from God Himself.

Just as the dawn breaks after a long night, God’s grace brings light and hope into the darkest corners of our lives. It is through His grace that we find forgiveness, redemption, and the strength to move forward. No matter how broken or lost we may feel, God’s love provides a way for us to experience a new beginning.

In embracing this new beginning, we are called to surrender our old ways and patterns of living. It requires humility and a willingness to let go of our own desires and ambitions, instead aligning our hearts with God’s will. As we embark on this fresh chapter, let us seek His guidance and direction, seeking to honor Him in all that we do.

Remember, that new beginnings are not just a one-time event but a continuous process. Each day, we have the opportunity to turn to God, seek His forgiveness, and experience His transforming power. Let us approach each new day with gratitude and a readiness to embrace the newness that God’s grace provides.

As we walk this journey of faith, let us encourage one another, reminding ourselves and our fellow believers of the promise of new beginnings in Christ. May we extend the same grace and love that we have received to those around us, helping them discover the hope and joy that comes from starting anew.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of new beginnings through Your grace. Help us to fully embrace this fresh start, leaving behind our past mistakes and embracing the possibilities that lie ahead. Guide us in aligning our hearts with Your will, allowing Your transforming power to work in us each day. May we be a light to others, extending Your love and grace to those in need. In Jesus’ name, we pray. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

If you have never experienced the love of God through a relationship with Jesus then come to Him today. He will never turn you away.

May 3rd 2020 – A Measure Of Faith

“You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.” (2 Timothy 3:1-2)

“For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.” (Romans 12:3)

Finding Faith can be a hard for many. Some have been jaded by misplaced trust and therefore have a hard time believing anyone, even God. While this may be a problem, the more challenging issue is misplaced faith. We all have faith in something. Our faith may be placed in ourselves, whether because of our wealth or authority, or it could be placed in someone or something completely different. Either way, faith that is not placed in Christ alone will only lead to ruin.

In 2 Timothy, the Apostle Paul warns his young disciple of a time that would come where men would trust in their own self. Their misplaced faith would lead to a world filled with pride, anger, hatred and irreverence for the things of God. Paul concludes with the warning, “Stay away from them.”

As Christians, we must be guided by our faith and trust in Christ. He is our Savior and King, and His Word alone is our guide into eternal life. When we trust in His Word, we will find a life that is filled with love, grace and forgiveness. This love has the power to change the world, but this love is only available to us when we trust in the One who is ultimate love, Jesus Christ.

“We all have a measure of faith. It’s what we choose to put our faith in will ultimately guide our decision making, our perspective and the course of action for our lives.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the love You have shown me through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Help me to hold firm to this Truth so that my faith will continue to grow. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I can discern those who may be living for themselves. Help me to minister to those who need to hear the Gospel message. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Put your faith and trust in Jesus! If you do not know Him personally please read below.

Jesus Christ says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20)

The Bible promises eternal life to all who receive Christ: “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:11-13)

April 12th 2020 – He Shall Live

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” (John 11:25)

Easter is not about the Easter Bunny or brightly colored eggs. Easter is about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

For some, Easter will be a great day, spent surrounded by family and friends. But for others, it will be a sad day, because Easter is a reminder of a loved one who has died and is now desperately missed.

Death seems so cruel, so harsh, and so final. That is what the disciples were feeling when they saw their Lord, whom they had left everything to follow, hanging on the cross. They were devastated. Death had crushed them. But if they would have gone back in their memories, they would have recalled an important event and statement Jesus had made.

They would have remembered Jesus standing at the tomb of his close friend Lazarus. They would have remembered that Jesus did something completely unexpected: He wept (see John 11:35 ). Jesus wept, because He knew that death was not part of God’s original plan. Humanity was not meant to grow old, to suffer with disease, or to die. But because of the sin of Adam and Eve, sin entered the human race, and death followed with it. And death spread to all of us. Jesus wept, because it broke His heart.

But standing there at Lazarus’ tomb, Jesus also delivered these hope filled words: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live” (John 11:25).

Death is not the end. And the resurrection of Jesus Christ proves it.

If you have put your faith in Christ, then Easter means that you will live forever in the presence of God. Easter brings hope to the person who has been devastated by death.

“Death is not the end for the Believer in Christ!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for taking my sin upon You. I am sorry for the wrong things I have done and for the right I have failed to do. I confess my sins to You and ask for forgiveness. (Confess your sins, by act and by name to Him). Lord, thank You for helping me with my past and present sins. Help me to keep my eyes not on my sin, but on my Savior, Jesus. Help me to soar by casting off the weights of sin. Help me to live the life You have called me to live. I thank You for having a winning game plan for dealing with my Sin, In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Happy Easter from Scripturalseeds.org

Looking to ask Jesus into or recommit your life to Him? Read Below..

Jesus says “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” (Revelation 3:20)

The Bible promises eternal life to all who receive Christ: “And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.” (1 John 11-13)

If you have not asked Jesus into your life, You can receive Jesus Christ right now by faith through prayer.

Prayer is just talking with God. He knows your heart, so don’t worry about getting your words just right. Here is a suggested prayer to guide you:

Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen.

If you have done this, then congratulations! (Luke 15:7) says that when one sinner accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Saviour the angels rejoice. So there’s a party going on in heaven right now over your decision! Remember this date as your “second birthday,” the day you were born into a new life in Christ! March 29th 2020 – Be Aware, Be On Alert!

“When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.” (Mark 13:7)

Reading through Mark chapter and relecting over this past year. This prophesy seeming more real now. In it, Jesus reminds us that when we see certain signs that indicate we are in, or are entering into the end times, we don’t have to be alarmed.

He reminds us that we will know these are prophetic words coming to pass when we hear of “wars and rumors of wars,” when we see certain events unfolding, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. Pestilence such as the current epidemic of the COVIF-19 disease we are now facing.  These are all the beginning of birth pains.” (Mark 13:8)

And also, in this one chapter where Jesus is telling us of all that’s to come, signs of the end times, He says this over and over, 7 different times throughout these verses…

He warns us to Be Aware.

His words are true are they are for now, right now, in this day and time, and throughout all future days until he comes again. May we be faithful, wise to listen, and may He help us to apply them to life:

“Watch out that no one deceives you…” (Mark 13:5)

“You must be on your guard…” (Mark 13:9)

“So be on your guard, I have told you everything ahead of time.” (Mark 13:23)

“Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.” (Mark 13:33)

“Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back–whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.” (Mark 13:35)

“If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: Watch!”  (Mark 13:36)

As believers, we have hope in Christ, we know beyond a doubt He is at work in this world and He will come again.

Let’s keep working while it is still day…”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Praying for Your mercy through the storms and floods, through the earthquakes, through the fires, may You draw many to Youself in these final days. And may we be found living as light in a world that needs His great peace. I lift up the ones that may be feeling worried and fearful in these days. I pray that they choose to trust and believe that You are working in our world, even behind the scenes where we can’t fully see. I Ask that Your overwhelming presence of peace to fill their life today, and they ask for Your help in staying aware and alert.  Pray that You our God will help us, as believers, to be a light to others who need His hope in dark times. in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

March 27th 2020 – The Journey

“Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.” (Genesis 28:10-11)

Jacob had quite a journey in front of him. He would be traveling hundreds of miles to eventually reach his destination. Even though Rebekah and Isaac sent him to find a wife, the reality of his brother Esau wanting to kill him was there. This journey was not like the journey we would be taking today. This would be a journey in a wilderness, traveled by foot. At this point in the journey Jacob had been walking all day. He was tired enough to lay his head on a stone and fall asleep.

Right before this journey we see that Jacob received a promise from his father. He was told that he would have the fat of the land, plenty of grain and wheat, people would serve him, and that he would inherit land. Now in the wilderness, on the run from his brother, that thought had to be conflicting. It would be to anyone? Jacob had been told that he would inherit the promise, but the promise was yet to come.

Do you find yourself there today? Has God given you a word for your life, but you are stuck between the promise and fulfillment of the promise. Take heart because God is using scenarios in your life to do an amazing work in your life. God will fulfill His promise in due time. In the meantime He is doing a transformative work in your life.

“When you find yourself in the place between the promises and fulfillment, Take heart that He is doing a transformative work in you.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for always working on my behalf. Give me the strength to Trust You in the good times and bad. I am thankful You are always faithful even when I question or don’t understand. Continue to do Your work in my heart. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

March 14th 2020 – God Is Love!

Then the LORD said to me, “Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the LORD still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them.” (Hosea 3:1)

Have you ever taken time to truly think about God’s love? In Hosea, we get a glimpse of this love through the lives of the prophet Hosea and his wife Gomer. Gomer has continued to commit adultery against her husband, yet God tells Hosea to go and love her again. You see, this is not just a story about marriage and it’s not just an image of Israel. This is also a picture of the Gospel.

Like Gomer, we all have continued to walk away from God. We chase after other things to make us happy or fulfill our lives all the while forgetting the One who truly loves us. If the story ended there, we would be in a hard situation, but like Gomer, we have a heavenly Father Who was willing to buy us back. How did He buy us back? God purchased us from the slavery of sin with the blood of His Son Jesus. You see, while we were in bondage to our sinful ways, Jesus stepped out of heaven, walked to the cross and died in our place. When He died, He buried our sins with Him. When He arose, He pronounced freedom to all who would trust in Him. His reason for doing this for us is simple. God loves us.

“God is love”

If you have never experienced the love of God through a relationship with Jesus then come to Him today. He will never turn you away. You can pray a prayer like this…

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I know that I have sinned. Today, I come to You and ask that You would forgive me of my sins. I believe Jesus died for me and that He rose again. Fill me with Your Spirit and use me for Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you have read this prayer and believed in your heart, then congratulations!

(Luke 15:7) says that when one sinner accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Savior the angels rejoice. So there’s a party going on in heaven right now over your decision! Remember this date as your “second birthday,” the day you were born into a new life in Christ! You have God’s Word that he answered your prayer.
