January 31st 2025 – The Gift of God’s Word

“What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God.” (Romans 3:1-2)

A.W. Tozer once said, “If God gave you a watch, would you honor Him more by asking Him what time it is or by simply consulting the watch?” In the same way, God has given us the ultimate instruction manual—His Word. It’s our duty to not only read it but to live by it. Let’s remember that in some parts of the world, simply owning a Bible can lead to persecution or even death. Countless Christians have faced martyrdom for the very faith and truths that many of us take for granted.

You have been blessed with a Bible and the freedom to explore its teachings. How are you treating this precious gift? Is it collecting dust on a shelf, serving as a mere decoration, or is it a vital part of your daily life? The Bible is more than just a book; it holds the power to guide you through life’s challenges. It can strengthen your marriage, nurture your children, and even transform your life—if you take the time to read, study, and apply its teachings. Remember, it is the very Word of God.

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’” (John 8:31-32)

I encourage you to immerse yourself in the Scriptures. Ensure that you and your family are part of a Bible-teaching church. Cultivate the habit of daily prayer and Bible reading. Lead your family in devotion and prayer. By being diligent in these practices, you’ll witness incredible changes, miracles, and blessings in your life and in the lives of your loved ones.

“There is both a blessing and a responsibility in having a Bible.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. I ask for Your forgiveness if I have neglected to read and study it. Ignite a hunger in my heart for Your Scriptures. Open my mind to receive Your wisdom and empower me to act upon it. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

January 19th 2025 – Crowned In Glory

“You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet.” (Psalm 8:5-6)

In this beautiful passage from Psalm 8, we are reminded of our unique place in God’s creation. The psalmist marvels at the majesty of the universe, yet acknowledges that humanity holds a special status, crowned with glory and honor. This is not merely a title; it represents our divine purpose and responsibility.

To be “crowned in glory” means that we are endowed with dignity and worth, reflecting God’s image. In a world that often seeks to diminish our value based on achievements or societal standards, it’s vital to remember that our true worth comes from being created by God and for His purposes.

As we navigate through the challenges of life, let us embrace our identity as children of the Most High. This identity empowers us to rise above our circumstances, reminding us that we are not defined by our failures but rather by the grace and glory bestowed upon us by God. In every trial, we are called to reflect His glory, showing love, kindness, and grace to others.

Spend a few moments in silence, reflecting on what it means to be crowned in glory. Consider how you can live out this identity in your daily life, bringing honor to God through your actions and relationships.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for crowning us with glory and honor. Help us to see our value in Your eyes and to live in a way that reflects Your love and grace. May we walk confidently in our identity as Your children, sharing Your light with the world around us. Empower us to fulfill the purpose You have set before us, ruling over the works of Your hands with humility and reverence. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
