October 20th 2019 – Healing Hands

“And these signs will follow those who believe… they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18)

God, our Father, has made provision for us in all areas. God cares about our eternal well-being, and He cares about our life here on the earth.  Jesus came that we might have life, and that more abundantly. Healing is the children’s bread, and it belongs to those who are in Christ Jesus.

When we look at this verse, it says that the believing ones would lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Many times, when we are praying for others we don’t utilize the actual physical healing power of the Holy Spirit that is within us. Maybe you have had hands laid on you and did not see any immediate change. But this verse says that they shall recover.  It might happen instantly, or it might happen in a while.  The absolute truth is, we need to believe and hold on to the promise that recovery will happen. That’s the real Faith!

We are not to be moved by sight, but by faith in His Word, and as we hold on to his precious promises, they will come to pass.  There are times when holding on seems so hard, and it can be, but let God be true.  He is not a man that He should lie. So today, if you or a loved one have had hands laid on for healing, hold on to the promise of the Word.  God’s Word says that the believer will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from the darkness, I call upon you now to send forth your miracle-working power into every aspect of (my being or ______) . In the same way that you spoke unto the dust of the ground when you created humankind in your own image, I ask you to send forth other faithful believers of Yours, Ones that will prepare in prayer and fasting. That they will come and lay hands on (Me or ______) Lord Bring forth, Your healing power into (my body or ____) through your Holy Spirit. God’s Word is true, and our bodies must line up with God’s Word. We will fight the good fight of faith and we will win, because You God cannot lie and Your Word is true.  Thank you Lord that we will be healed!  In Jesus’ Holy and precious name, Amen.

October 16th 2019 – Cast Your Burden on the Lord

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22)

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

Ever go through a day or a week when you’re discouraged and it seems like nothing’s going right? Well, be of good cheer, you’re not the only one.  When we look through the Bible we see many of the great people of faith having times of discouragement.

Moses had it right to the top of his head with the children of Israel, yet he got through it.  Elijah, after his great victory on Mount Carmel, had to fight a great bout of depression when Jezebel said that she wanted to take his life.  He said (1 Kings 19:4)”… And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my father’s!”

Here is this great man of God, who just had this great victory over the prophets of Baal, and one lady, Jezebel, so intimidates him that he wants to die.

And it can be the same with us, we forget what the Lord did yesterday and we look at today and see this problem or this situation and we get discouraged.  But this verse tells us to “Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”

God will sustain us as we make a decision to give it over to Him.  So today, try it.  Give it to God.  His shoulders are a lot bigger than yours and He is a loving and caring Father.  Trust Him and He will see you through.  Remember, He did it in the past and He will do it today and in the future.

Prayer:

Heavenly  Father, I put my trust in You Lord and I know that today, You will get me through what I’m going through.  Your living word has told me to cast my cares on You Lord and that’s what I’m going to do, trust and obey. Thank you for always being there for me. I love and Praise You. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, Amen.

October 10th 2019 – Jesus Friend of Sinners

“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and ‘sinners.’” (Matthew 11:19)

I met an individual last year was struggling with a serious illness. When I asked her if she knew Jesus, she said “I’m not ready to give my life to Jesus,”

“Have you told Jesus that?” I asked. Judging from the stymied look on her face, the idea of praying was the farthest thing from her mind. “Why don’t you take time right now to tell Jesus? Whatever is on your heart, you can tell Him.” The elderly lady gave a smile when I reached for her hand and then bowed her head with mine saying, “Lord, I…uh…they tell me I should give my life to you…and although I can’t, that is, I guess I won’t, I really do…I really want to believe. Please…help me.”

“You’re well on your way to believing in Christ,” I said after she finished praying. How could I be so sure? Because she had opened up her heart to encounter the Lord Jesus. When someone engages God in prayer, they can never be quite the same. That lady’s prayer, though feeble and faltering, meant the Savior, in turn, had a handhold on her. With my encouragement and prayers, it wasn’t long before she accepted Jesus and was welcomed into God’s family

The good news sounds great to those who see Jesus befriending them. In the gospels, the Lord Jesus is constantly presented as a friend of sinners. He moved among people as their friend before He became their Savior.

Who can you befriend on Jesus’ behalf today? Ask God to bring to mind someone who needs Him, and how about you? Do you need a friend today? Ask Jesus to be with you in a way that will be a comfort to you.

“Give Jesus a try….if you don’t like Him, the enemy will always take you back!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for my friends and loved ones. Thank You for the amazing comfort that I can find in You. Thank you for being there with every step of the way. Thank you for Your friendship and always being right there when I feel lonely and broken. I praise you for not forsaking me in times like these. Because of Your love, I can have peace and forgiveness for all my sins. Because of Jesus, I am free from the penalty of sin and no matter what happens on this earth, I will be healed and loved for all eternity. Father, help me to remember these things and to pass them on to those who are thirsting for Your refreshing comfort. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Seeking Comfort and a Relationship with Jesus?

Jesus Christ says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20)

He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:11-13)

October 8th 2019 – Seeds for the Soul

“Paul and Barnabas also remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also” (Acts 15:35)

A lot of effort is put forth so that people can know God. I agree wholeheartedly that we should introduce people to God. Everyone has a need to have a relationship with Him. When someone makes a decision to accept Jesus, they have made the greatest decision they will ever make. The work of salvation is then complete, but there is still much to do. You see, once someone gets to know the God of the Word, they need to get to know the Word of God. We place great importance and emphasis on the teaching of the Word of God. here at Scriptural Seeds Miniatries. It is our joy and honor to walk you through the Word to The Word of God will help equip you to deal with life. I look forward to our walk together, and I am sure we will both learn many things. Take the time to read because he took the time to bleed. Get to know your Bible.

We should intimately know the Word of God.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the Bible. I realize many men and women have died that I might have a copy of it in my life. It truly is a treasure and a light to my path. Please help me to read it, dig into it, and spend my days going through the incredible riches of this supernatural book. Thank You God for writing Your love letter straight to me called the Bible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

October 4th 2019 – God Still Heals

“to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,” (1 Corinthians 12:9)

What do you think about when you hear the words “healing” or “miracle”? Depending on how you grew up, these words may spark memories. Some of us may remember the charismatic preachers on television or even roadside tent revivals. Even though they may have involved miraculous signs and wonders, others may simply reject the notion that miracles even occur today.

Regardless of what we have seen or heard, we must always remember to ask the question, “What does the bible say?” You see, what we believe is not dependent on our opinion or upbringing, but fully relies on what God has revealed to us through His Word.

As we look into the glorious and perfect Word of the Lord, we see that He has given us His Spirit to help spread the Gospel and minister to one another. In 1 Corinthians 12, we see that Paul clearly states that the Holy Spirit can empower us with the gift of healings and miracles. While these can refer to many things, we must understand that we have the chance to be part of one of the greatest healings of all time.

What could that be you ask? Simply put, it’s the dead coming to life. When we share with others the Gospel and they respond, they go from death to life, from condemnation to forgiveness, from being a child of the adversary to a child of the living God. Maybe you’ve never experienced that supernatural healing. God desires to forgive your sins and make you new. All you have to do is come to Him. Are you ready for healing?

“Don’t ever forget that God still heals. He heals us spiritually, physically and emotionally”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I know that I have done wrong in my life and I ask that You forgive me. Lord, I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that He rose again. I come to You today and ask that You would create in me a clean heart and make me new. Fill me with Your Spirit and help me to walk with You every day of my life. I love You Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

October 2nd 2019 – Trust In The Lord

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

In modern society, we put a lot of trust in strangers. We take public transportation, trusting that the driver or pilot or engineer is capable of taking us safely to our destination. We purchase food in stores and restaurants, believing that none of the food handlers have poisoned it. We go to doctors and dentists, trusting that these professionals will do their best to protect our health.

The list goes on and on: maintenance crews, security personnel, water treatment workers. We even put a certain amount of trust in the average people who walk and drive where we live.

We do that even though we know that there are bad people out there. We trust even though we know that good people sometimes make mistakes. We want to believe in other people.

We’ve seen those that don’t, the people who live in a state of constant paranoia. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to live that way. I prefer to live my life with a certain amount of trust.

I trust in God above all, trusting in three basic facts:

  • God is good
  • God knows best
  • God is able

I don’t always understand what God is doing. Sometimes I don’t agree. There are even moments where I think that I know better than he does, that my way is the best way.

Sometimes I doubt. Times when it seems like chaos has won and evil will triumph. But then I fall back on trust. He is good. He knows best. He is able.

People will fail me. I’ve learned that. I know that because I’m well aware of my own shortcomings. I’m not perfect, and others aren’t either. I’m not always good, and others aren’t either.

But God is. He is good. He knows best. And he is able. I just need to trust.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I praise You today for the multiple commands in the Bible to trust you. For in the times of trouble; in the out of my control circumstances; on the crooked, dark, winding paths; and in these very troubled days, we will look to something or someone to trust. What relief, peace and assurance to know that you, alone, are trustworthy. You always command our good in your Word and in providence;, and you always empower our obedience with your grace and your Spirit. Father, as this day unfolds, I choose to lean on you, and not my understanding; I choose to step on the path of grace, and off the highway of my willfulness; I choose to acknowledge you, and bring your heart, hand and hope to bear. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

September 29th 2019 – Shaken But Not Forsaken

“How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? (Psalm 13:1-2)

At the beginning of Psalm 13 David feels that God has forsaken him. Has that ever happened to you? Do you let your problems make you despondent, discouraged, and disillusioned? Honestly, that couldn’t be further from the truth for those of us that have received the salvation of the Lord. We see David acknowledging this as he continues…

“But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.” (Psalm 13:5-6)

You see, when we accepted the sacrifice of Christ we received the forgiveness of sins and the promise that we’d never be forsaken by God. Jesus ultimately experienced separation from Father God for the first time on that cross on our behalf when He cried out “my God my God why have you forsaken me?” Now, once we realize in our heads and hearts this reality, our trust in His mercy causes us to rejoice in our salvation! Our eyes can now be enlightened by the Spirit of God to see how rich we truly are in Christ. Count those blessings friend and allow the Lord to encourage you with all He has done for you!

“Sometimes we forget what we should we remember, (the good done by someone, by others, sometimes by us) and remember what we should forget (the wrongs done by someone, by others, sometimes by us).”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for enduring all things for me on the cross. Thank You for never leaving or forsaking me. Please give me the power to remember the blessings that You have poured out into my life through Christ and help me to walk after You with joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

September 28th 2019 – God’s Family

“But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.” (Galatians 1:11)

The Gospel changes everything. Not only does it change us, but it also unites us with other believers. Many of the differences that may have divided us before, fall away because of the love of Christ. This is why it is so important to meet together locally at church, and personally with each other. When we grow in unity with one another, it blesses our life and is a great picture to our community.

Where does this unity come from exactly? Well, we believe similar things, we share close to the same value system in love God, love people. In addition, we believe God created the earth and sky. Many people may think we are different because we have different skin colors, ways of dressing or ways of making a living? Unity may even be dependent on whether or not we have ink or tattoos on our body? But no matter what you look like or how you may have been raised in Jesus, we are called “one body”. As the body of Christ, we are a family that seeks to love unconditionally no matter how different we may be.

“When we meet together, we encourage each other with acts of love and fellowship..”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the church. Thank You for bringing me together with brothers and sisters in Christ. While I know I am not perfect, help me to love others equally and to encourage others no matter the differences. In You, the church is united. Please help me to remember that no matter what. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

September 24th 2019 – The Path That God Leads Us Down

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Keep walking along the path God has chosen for you. Your desire to live close to Him is a delight to the Lords heart. He could grant the riches of our spiritual desires, but that may not be what God has for you or me. Together with God we can forge a pathway up this high and mighty mountain in front of us.

The journey may be arduous at times and we may become week, soon with Gods help we will be to the top of that mountain. But for now, sometimes our walk is difficult and heavy. All He requires from us to do is take the next step, clinging to His hand for strength and direction.

We will never know what is around the bend if we stray from our path, stay on the path that God has selected for you, you are closer then you know to where God wants to lead you.

Focus your attention on the path just ahead of you, and on the One that never leaves your side.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, please continue to guide and direct our steps as we walk down life’s path. May we always seek you over all distractions. I praise you and all you have done in my life. I am so blessed that you love me and continue to guide me on my path. May I be receptive to Your direction, seeking You always at each fork on life’s path. I choose to seek and follow You on the path to where You Lord have destined me to be. I know that you have such wonderful plans for our lives and want us to reach our destiny, Amen.

September 22nd 2019 – Jesus Wept

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

As Jesus made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on what we know as Palm Sunday, He looked at the city and wept. In the hebrew language, the word used to describe His weeping speaks of bitter anguish, as though one first were mourning the death of a loved one.

Jesus cried with such pain because He knew what was next to come. His time was short. He had been rejected by mankind. He had healed their sick. He had raised their dead. He had cleansed their lepers. He had fed their hungry and forgave their sins. But He remained mostly alone and rejected.

He also knew one of His own, Judas Iscariot, was about to betray Him. Judas was a friend of Jesus’. That is why it was a betrayal. Jesus knew that Caiaphas, the high priest, would try Him on false charges. Jesus knew that He would be sent to the Roman governor Pontius Pilate and ultimately be sentenced to die on the cross. He knew the people who were crying, “Hosanna!” And that the majority would turn against them. And it broke His heart. Jesus knew they would face the repercussions for their sin, and He didn’t want that.

I have friends and also family who have made wrong decisions in life, despite the warnings in God’s written word. Despite counsel from thier Pastor or Christian friends not to do a certain thing. They do it anyways, then later they come back and say, “Oh, I should have listened.

God will not violate our free will. God will not make us believe. God will not make us love Him. If we don’t want to, we don’t have to. But that is what is so amazing. God, having foreknowledge, still loves us and still extends his grace to us.

“God will not force His forgiveness on to anyone.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for my church, my friends and the ones that love me. Thank You for the amazing comfort that I can find with You. Please refill my spirit daily because I don’t often make good decisions on my own. I praise you for not forsaking me in the times that I don’t listen. Because of Your love, I can have peace and forgiveness for all my sins. Because of You Lord, I am free from the penalty of sin and no matter what happens on this earth, I will be healed and loved for all eternity. Father, help me to remember these things and to pass them on to those who are thirsting for Your refreshing comfort. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
