June 20th 2026 – Open Hands, Open Hearts

Scripture Reference:

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.” (Luke 6:38)

Reflection:

One of the beautiful truths found throughout Scripture is that God notices every act of generosity. Whether it’s a tithe given in faith, a meal provided to someone in need, a bill paid for a struggling family, or a simple act of kindness offered in Jesus’ name, none of it escapes His attention.

When we give, we are not purchasing God’s favor or entering into a business transaction with heaven. Instead, our giving becomes an expression of trust, acknowledging that everything we have ultimately comes from God. We choose to hold our possessions with open hands rather than clenched fists.

Jesus often spoke about caring for those in need. In the parable of the sheep and the goats, He made a remarkable statement:

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

Consider this for a moment. When we feed the hungry, help the hurting, encourage the discouraged, or support the work of God’s kingdom, Jesus receives those acts as if they were done directly to Him. What an incredible privilege!

The Bible also teaches that generosity invites God’s blessing. This does not mean that every dollar given results in greater financial wealth; sometimes, God’s blessings come in the form of peace, provision, protection, opportunities, strengthened relationships, or spiritual growth. God’s rewards are often far greater than money.

“Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing.” (Proverbs 3:9-10)

God looks at the heart behind the gift. A widow who gives two small coins in faith may honor Him more than a wealthy person who gives from abundance without sacrifice. Jesus praised the widow because her offering reflected complete trust in God.

When we tithe and bless others, we participate in God’s work on earth. We become channels through which His love, provision, and compassion flow. While we cannot outgive God, His greatest blessings often stem not from what returns to our wallets, but from what He transforms within our hearts.

Every gift given in love is seen by God. When you bless others, you become part of His answer to someone’s prayer.”2

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for every blessing You have entrusted to me. Help me remember that all I have comes from You. Give me a generous heart that reflects Your love and compassion. Teach me to give with joy—not out of obligation, but out of gratitude for all You have done.

Open my eyes to those around me who are hurting, struggling, or in need. Help me be Your hands and feet in a world that desperately needs Your love. Strengthen my faith to trust that You are my provider and that I never lose anything when I place it in Your hands.

May my giving honor You, bless others, and bring glory to Your name. Thank You for the promise that You see every act of kindness and every sacrifice made in faith. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

December 25th 2025 – The Light of the World

Scripture Reading:
“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” (John 1:9)

Reflection:

On this Christmas Day, we gather to celebrate the miraculous birth of Jesus, the true light that brings hope and joy to our lives. His coming into the world was not just a historical event; it signifies the arrival of divine love and grace. In a world often shrouded in darkness—filled with uncertainty, fear, and despair—Jesus shines brightly, illuminating our paths and showing us the way to peace and fulfillment.

Imagine the night when the shepherds received the angelic announcement. Their lives were simple and filled with routine, yet in that moment, everything changed. The light of Christ pierced through their ordinary existence, inviting them into something extraordinary. This same light is available to us today, inviting us to step out of darkness and into His marvelous light.

As we reflect on the significance of this day, let’s consider how we can embody the light of Christ in our daily lives. Our actions, words, and attitudes can serve as reflections of His love. In a time when so many are struggling—whether through loneliness, grief, or hardship—our kindness can make a profound difference.

This Christmas, let us not only celebrate the gift we have received but also commit to sharing that gift with others. We can bring hope to those who feel hopeless, joy to those who feel sorrowful, and love to those who feel alone.

In what specific ways can I be a light to someone who is struggling today?

Take a moment to reach out to those around you. Offer a kind gesture, a listening ear, or an encouraging word. Whether it’s a phone call to check in on a friend or a small act of kindness for a stranger, let your actions reflect the light of Christ. This Christmas, let’s not just celebrate the light; let’s share it!

May your Christmas Day be filled with the warmth of love, the joy of giving, and the light of Christ shining brightly in your life!

Prayer:

Dear Lord, on this beautiful Christmas Day, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the incredible gift of Your Son, the light of the world. Thank You for sending Jesus to guide us through the darkness and for the hope He brings into our lives.

As we celebrate His birth, may we reflect on the true meaning of this season. Help us to recognize the moments of light in our own lives and to carry that light into the lives of others. Strengthen us to be instruments of Your peace and love, especially to those who are hurting or in need.

Lord, open our eyes to the opportunities around us where we can shine Your light. May our words be filled with encouragement, our actions be filled with kindness, and our hearts overflow with compassion.

Let the joy of the Christmas season inspire us to spread love and hope, not just today, but every day. May we embrace the calling to be a light in this world, reflecting Your love in all that we do. In Your precious and Holy name, Amen.

July 26th 2025 – When We Give

“Then Peter said, Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God.” (Acts 3:6-8)

In our daily lives, we often focus on what we lack instead of recognizing the abundance we already possess. In this powerful story, Peter didn’t offer silver or gold; he provided something far more valuable: the healing power of Jesus’ name. This moment teaches us that true giving comes not from our material wealth, but from the strength and gifts that God has placed within us.

Ask yourself: What do I have to offer? You might think you don’t possess the resources to support your church or community, but God is more interested in the willingness of your heart. If you can give five dollars with joy, it holds the same value to Him as a hundred. It’s not about the amount but the intention behind it.

Consider your time and talents. Perhaps you feel you can’t commit fully to serving in children’s or teen ministries. However, even small contributions, like helping out during special events, can make a significant impact. The message is clear: “Give What You Have” and let it flow from a place of love. God looks beyond our circumstances; He sees our hearts.

Think of the widow who gave her two small coins. Jesus highlighted her offering not because of its monetary value, but because she gave all she had. The challenge is not merely to give a little but to give wholeheartedly. What do you have today? As you share what you possess, you may be surprised by the abundance that God will pour back into your life.

“The only things we can keep are the things we freely give to God.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, today I choose to give from what I have, from the depths of my heart. I understand that You are not asking for what I lack, but for my willingness to share what I possess. As I offer my time, talents, and treasures—not out of obligation but with joy—I trust that You will bless me in ways that exceed my expectations. Thank You for guiding me to give freely and for the abundant blessings that follow. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
