October 15th 2019 – Seeing the Whole Picture

“When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and they begged him to touch the man and heal him. Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, “Can you see anything now?” The man looked around. “Yes,” he said, “I see people, but I can’t see them very clearly. They look like trees walking around.” Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly. Jesus sent him away, saying, “Don’t go back into the village on your way home.” (Mark 8:22-26)

Have you ever seen or heard of a photo mosaic? It’s a really large image made up of many, many smaller pictures. I always thought they were really cool, because each individual picture has a story of its own, but when you take a few steps back and look at the entire masterpiece, it is really something else.

God is in control. Always. He has a reason for everything, though it may not be (immediately, or ever) revealed to us. In this passage, I find it noteworthy that Jesus decided to heal the man’s sight in two steps (instead of immediate complete healing).

For one thing, Jesus’ simple question (“Do you see anything?”) is a chance for Him to test and challenge the man’s faith. Is the man bold enough to honestly answer Jesus and tell Him that he only sees “trees walking around?” Is the man’s faith great enough to trust that Jesus has the power of complete healing? (How would you respond?)

Also, I think that Jesus’ two-step healing of the man’s sight is representative of a situation we often find ourselves in. Many times, we think we see the whole picture. We think that we know everything that is going on. However, we sometimes find that what we are looking at is just one little frame in the huge mosaic masterpiece. Our vision is equivalent to seeing people as trees walking around. We think we see it all, but God has so, so much more in store. He has so much more that He wants to show us. Ask Him to reveal more of His desire and His heart to you today.

“Sometimes God lets you be in a situation that only He can fix so that you can see that He is the One who fixes it. Rest. He’s got it.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, fully open my eyes to your current condition–physical, spiritual, emotional, mental during this quiet time in Your presence. With this new sight and new life that You Lord have given to me, I ask you to give me eyes like yours, that you may see You at work everywhere, both on the micro and macro scale. When I feel like all I can see is vague shapes of you presence, I ask earnestly and boldly that You will reveal to me not only the bigger picture, but how my work can further Your kingdom. I love you Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

October 8th 2019 – Seeds for the Soul

“Paul and Barnabas also remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also” (Acts 15:35)

A lot of effort is put forth so that people can know God. I agree wholeheartedly that we should introduce people to God. Everyone has a need to have a relationship with Him. When someone makes a decision to accept Jesus, they have made the greatest decision they will ever make. The work of salvation is then complete, but there is still much to do. You see, once someone gets to know the God of the Word, they need to get to know the Word of God. We place great importance and emphasis on the teaching of the Word of God. here at Scriptural Seeds Miniatries. It is our joy and honor to walk you through the Word to The Word of God will help equip you to deal with life. I look forward to our walk together, and I am sure we will both learn many things. Take the time to read because he took the time to bleed. Get to know your Bible.

We should intimately know the Word of God.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the Bible. I realize many men and women have died that I might have a copy of it in my life. It truly is a treasure and a light to my path. Please help me to read it, dig into it, and spend my days going through the incredible riches of this supernatural book. Thank You God for writing Your love letter straight to me called the Bible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

October 4th 2019 – God Still Heals

“to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,” (1 Corinthians 12:9)

What do you think about when you hear the words “healing” or “miracle”? Depending on how you grew up, these words may spark memories. Some of us may remember the charismatic preachers on television or even roadside tent revivals. Even though they may have involved miraculous signs and wonders, others may simply reject the notion that miracles even occur today.

Regardless of what we have seen or heard, we must always remember to ask the question, “What does the bible say?” You see, what we believe is not dependent on our opinion or upbringing, but fully relies on what God has revealed to us through His Word.

As we look into the glorious and perfect Word of the Lord, we see that He has given us His Spirit to help spread the Gospel and minister to one another. In 1 Corinthians 12, we see that Paul clearly states that the Holy Spirit can empower us with the gift of healings and miracles. While these can refer to many things, we must understand that we have the chance to be part of one of the greatest healings of all time.

What could that be you ask? Simply put, it’s the dead coming to life. When we share with others the Gospel and they respond, they go from death to life, from condemnation to forgiveness, from being a child of the adversary to a child of the living God. Maybe you’ve never experienced that supernatural healing. God desires to forgive your sins and make you new. All you have to do is come to Him. Are you ready for healing?

“Don’t ever forget that God still heals. He heals us spiritually, physically and emotionally”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I know that I have done wrong in my life and I ask that You forgive me. Lord, I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that He rose again. I come to You today and ask that You would create in me a clean heart and make me new. Fill me with Your Spirit and help me to walk with You every day of my life. I love You Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

September 27th 2019 – Provision of Strength

“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13)

Christ has made every provision for us to be strong. He has given us His Holy Spirit, whose is to bring to our remembrance all the promises that Christ has made, that we may have peace and a sweet sense of forgiveness. If we will keep our eyes fixed on the Saviour, and trust in His power, we shall be filled with a sense of security; for the righteousness of Christ will become our righteousness. . . .

We dishonor Him by talking of our inefficiency. Instead of looking at ourselves, let us constantly behold Jesus, daily becoming more and more like Him, more and more able to talk of Him, better prepared to avail ourselves of His kindness and helpfulness, and to receive the blessings offered us.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16)

As we live in communion with Him, we grow strong in His strength, a help and a blessing to those around us. If we would only do as the Lord desires us to, our hearts would become as sacred harps, every chord of which would sound forth praise and gratitude to the Redeemer sent by God to take away the sin of the world. . .

“Do not strive in your own strength; cast yourself at the feet of the Lord Jesus, and wait upon Him in the sure confidence that He is with you, and works in you. Strive in prayer; let faith fill your heart-so will you be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for all the wonderful blessings you have put in my life. Family, friends, a roof over my head, and food on my table. Thank you for the blessings you give me every day. I am so grateful for all that you provide. I try hard, Lord, not to stumble in my walk with you. Today I ask for your strength. Your guidance. I cannot make my walk alone, Lord, and I know you are there to take my hand when I need you most. I know you are there to carry me when I cannot go on alone. I ask for that strength, Lord. I ask for your will and your way. I ask for the strength you had in facing the Enemy in the desert. Thank you, Lord, for being here for me when in my hour of need. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

September 26th 2019 – Your Body, His Temple

“I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.” (Romans 12:1)

“When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and are baptized you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38). God’s Spirit actually makes it’s dwelling inside of you. You then become a “temple” designed for the worship of our God. It is a sanctuary for service in His Kingdom.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Above the Apostle Paul tells us that our bodies ARE the temple of the Holy Spirit. Paul was talking about sexual immorality when he wrote that verse to the Christians of Corinth. But the verse has a broader meaning. It means you don’t want to mess up the temple with hidden sins of any kind. It means that you don’t want to desecrate the temple with any foreign substances like tobacco, alcohol, drugs, or overeating. It means we want it to look nice so we take care of it by cleaning it, clothing it modestly, and making it presentable. It means that we take everything out that prevents us from serving and worshiping God and honoring him.

So let’s do our best to take care of the bodies that God gave us, let’s make a comfortable place for the Spirit to live, work and guide us.

“Our bodies were created in the image of God. They are a gift from our heavenly father to allow us to experience mortality and to strive to become more like Him. This knowledge should influence the way we treat our bodies, how we feel about the Heavenly Father and ourselves.  When we treat our bodies as a Temple of God, we can attain physical, emotional and spiritual blessings.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I praise your Holy Name. My life is yours…a temple for your Spirit… a place of worship 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. Please help me to clean up and make it a presentable and fit place for service in your kingdom. Thank You for the precious gift of salvation. Thank You for making a way for me to be cleansed of all my sins. Lord, if I have sinned against You or defiled my body today, forgive me and help me live for You in all I do. Father, I stand on Your Truth in 1 John 1:9 that says if I confess my sins, You will cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Wash me clean and use me for Your kingdom today. I pray these things in the name of your Son and my Savior, Jesus. Amen.

September 25th 2019 – Unlimited Resource

“He who scatters has come up before your face. Man the fort! Watch the road! Strengthen your flanks! Fortify your power mightily.” (Nahum 2:1)

Tests and trials are a part of life and often push us to our limits in so many ways. During these times, what do you turn to? Do you first run to others seeking those who feel the same way you do? Do you find yourself to be anxious because you are constantly looking down the road of life waiting for the next attack? Maybe you run to your money or addiction to seek answers or comfort. Whatever the case may be, the truth is, when we do not run to God first, we will not last long.

As followers of Christ, we have the unlimited resource of wisdom and power available to anyone. He is our Father God and He desires to help us in times of need. We may be able to limp along on our own wisdom and strength for a time, but when we trust in the Lord’s strength and His infinite wisdom, we will never grow weary. Today you will encounter difficult situations. Don’t be surprised by them but simply use them as an excuse to draw closer to God. Need wisdom? Ask the Father. Desire strength? Find it in Jesus.

“When you aew faced with a problem, seek God first before relying on your own wisdom or strength.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your generous love for me. I am so grateful that I can run to You in times of need and You will hear my cry. Father, I ask for Your strength and wisdom today. No matter where I find myself I ask that You would guide my steps and use me for Your purposes. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

September 24th 2019 – The Path That God Leads Us Down

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Keep walking along the path God has chosen for you. Your desire to live close to Him is a delight to the Lords heart. He could grant the riches of our spiritual desires, but that may not be what God has for you or me. Together with God we can forge a pathway up this high and mighty mountain in front of us.

The journey may be arduous at times and we may become week, soon with Gods help we will be to the top of that mountain. But for now, sometimes our walk is difficult and heavy. All He requires from us to do is take the next step, clinging to His hand for strength and direction.

We will never know what is around the bend if we stray from our path, stay on the path that God has selected for you, you are closer then you know to where God wants to lead you.

Focus your attention on the path just ahead of you, and on the One that never leaves your side.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, please continue to guide and direct our steps as we walk down life’s path. May we always seek you over all distractions. I praise you and all you have done in my life. I am so blessed that you love me and continue to guide me on my path. May I be receptive to Your direction, seeking You always at each fork on life’s path. I choose to seek and follow You on the path to where You Lord have destined me to be. I know that you have such wonderful plans for our lives and want us to reach our destiny, Amen.

September 23rd 2019 – Rightly Dividing God’s Word

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

To rightly the divide the Word of God it takes times of reading it, meditating on it, and also studying it.  Each way opens up the truth of the Word.  I look at the Word of God like a miner seeking for gold. Yes, he might get lucky and find some on the top, but most gold takes a lot of digging and working.

When we open our Bibles and start reading it, sometimes things can jump right off of the page and we are amazed and we get all excited.  But there are other times that we read the Word and nothing really hits us.  That’s when we need to ponder and chew on it for a while.  Do it during the course of the day.

You might say, how do I do that? Here, let me show you a couple of different ways.  When you find a verse that speaks to you write it down or put it on the wallpaper on your phone, then, throughout the day look at it, say it a few times and think about what it’s saying to you personally.

Before I got a Smartphone, I used to write scriptures on 3 by 5 cards and carry them with me, or hang them in places I would go, like a mirror, or on the door of the fridge.  Be creative and you will see that you will be digging up nuggets before you know it. His Word will be rightly divided in your life and you will be used for the kingdom of God, who is not ashamed.

“One who uses the Bible as his guide never loses his sense of direction”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Starting today, I’m going to be a doer and a digger of the Word.  I’m going to let the Your Holy Word have first place in my life and study it so that I can rightly divide it and not be ashamed. I also ask that you allow me to experience Your word visually while reading and meditating on it. Give me insight and understanding on the scriptures. We ask this in Jesus precious name. Amen.

September 21st 2019 – Jesus Is My Friend

“Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence Him. With them alone He shares the secrets of His promises.” (Psalms 25:14)

As children we used to run around and say, “I know a secret, I know a secret!” Well God has special things that He holds for special people. Our Father wants to reveal them to those whose hearts are right with Him. You see a secret is shared with close friends.  I don’t go and share my inner thoughts with just anybody, No, I share them with true friends. And you know what? Those that have a respect and love for the Father.  Those that give Him that special place in their hearts are friends of God and He shares His inner thoughts with them.

Jesus said that He doesn’t call us servants anymore, but He calls us friends.  So as a friend of God are we taking time each day to listen to His voice as He reveals His mysteries to us? God’s secrets are revealed to those who reverence Him.  They are revealed to those who love and respect Him.  To those whose hearts are for Him. God is not holding back from us, but He is looking for those who will take what He says to heart and use it to bless others.  He has a treasure of wisdom for us and He wants to pour it out to us.

So today take time to tell your Heavenly Father how much you love Him and how special He is to you and then watch and see how many things are revealed to you.  Take a few minutes even now and express your love to the One who loves you with such an intense love that He would send His one and only Son, to wash away all of your sins.

“While friends and family can fail us, Jesus will always be your most trusted friend!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and calling me your friend. Thank you for all of the times we cried together and laughed together. I and so greatful for you presence in my life. Please help me be a better friend to not only you but to others. May they always see you in me… I love you Lord.. in Your precious name Amen.

September 20th 2019 – Follow Through

“I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)

Knowing He was about to depart, Jesus left His disciples with a final command: stay in Jerusalem, and wait…for the promise.

Of the thousands who had witnessed His miraculous ministry and heard His amazing teaching, and the hundreds that had actually seen Him after the resurrection, we read in Acts that only 120 stayed until the promise arrived. But these 120 were steadfast. They waited the full term…

What would have happened if they had left after the 4th day? Or the 6th day? Or the 9th day? They would have missed the promise and the amazing blessing that came with it. But those 120 believers stayed, they stayed and pressed in until the Holy Spirit came!

Do you want the fullness of the Spirit in your life? Continue pressing in. Wait with relentless faith and patience. Perseverance is often the critical factor in receiving the promises of God. Our Lord will fulfill every good promise in His perfect time.

“He is the wind of heaven that fills our sails with the power to live for God and be witnesses for Him in the world!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I give praises to you this very day for all that you have given me. You always know the exact time to answer my prayers. Thank you for the life I am able to live ever since I met You Jesus. I love You Lord. In Jesus’ name Amen
