May 19th 2026 – Modern Parable of The Mexican Fisherman

Scripture Reference:

“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?” (Matthew 16:26)

The Story:

In a quaint coastal village, a local fisherman returns to shore with a modest catch of fish. As he pulls his boat onto the sand, an ambitious businessman, on vacation, observes him and strikes up a conversation.

“Why don’t you stay out longer and catch more fish?” the businessman inquires, eyeing the few fish in the fisherman’s basket.

The fisherman smiles and replies, “I have caught enough for my family’s needs. I enjoy spending my time with my wife, playing guitar, and relaxing with friends.”

The businessman, clearly unimpressed, pitches a grand plan. “You should fish more, buy bigger boats, build a fleet, open a processing plant, and move to the city. Imagine the wealth you could accumulate!”

“And then what?” the fisherman asks, raising an eyebrow.

“Once you’re rich, you can retire, move to a small coastal village, sleep late, and spend your days relaxing on the beach,” the businessman responds confidently.

The fisherman chuckles softly and points to the horizon. “I’m already doing all of that right now.”

Reflection:

This story illustrates a profound truth about contentment and the relentless pursuit of wealth. The businessman represents the world’s ambition—always seeking more, often at the expense of peace and joy. The fisherman, however, embodies a life of contentment, knowing that true wealth is not measured by material possessions but by the richness of relationships and the joy of simple pleasures.

In our own lives, it’s easy to fall into the trap of striving for more—more success, more recognition, more things—believing that happiness lies just one step ahead. But like the fisherman, we must ask ourselves, “What is enough?”

Jesus teaches us that our worth is not found in our possessions or titles but in our relationship with Him. He calls us to a life of simplicity and trust, reminding us that our true treasure is found in Him (Matthew 6:19-21).

As you go about your day, take a moment to reflect on what truly brings you joy. Are there areas where you feel pressured to strive for more? How can you embrace contentment in your current circumstances? Remember, sometimes the most fulfilling life is not the one filled with ambition but the one filled with gratitude for what we already have.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, We come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the many blessings You have bestowed upon us. Help us to recognize the beauty in our everyday lives and to cherish the simple joys that surround us. In a world that often measures success by wealth and status, guide us to find our true worth in our relationship with You and in the love we share with family and friends.

Teach us to embrace contentment, knowing that You provide for our needs and that our lives are rich with purpose and meaning. Help us to resist the temptation to constantly strive for more and to appreciate what we already have. May we learn from the fisherman, who finds fulfillment in the present moment, and may we cultivate a spirit of gratitude in our hearts.

As we move through our days, remind us to slow down, to savor the moments, and to connect with those around us. Let our lives reflect Your love and grace, drawing others to You through our actions and our words. In Jesus’ name, we pray for peace, contentment, and a deeper understanding of what it means to live abundantly in You. Amen.

Are you feeling lost, weighed down by burdens, or searching for purpose?

In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Jesus invites us into a relationship that offers hope, peace, and salvation.

Imagine a life where your past mistakes don’t define you, where love and grace are your guiding lights. This is the promise Jesus offers to each of us.

If you’re ready to take that step toward a transformed life, it begins with a simple yet profound prayer. It’s about opening your heart to Jesus and inviting Him to guide you.

May 18th 2026 – Chasing the Right One

Scripture Reference:

“You shall have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3)

Reflection:

We live in a world saturated with noise, the call of the Lord often gets drowned out. The message echoes clearly: “People are too busy chasing other people instead of chasing Me.” In our pursuit of connection and validation, we’ve shifted our gaze from the Creator to the created.

The Allure of Idols

Every day, we witness the phenomenon of idolization—celebrities and influencers rising to prominence, capturing our attention and, at times, our hearts. Social media platforms serve as stages where these figures perform, and we become their audience, often forgetting the One who deserves our undivided attention. We scroll through feeds, captivated by curated lives, and in doing so, we inadvertently place these individuals on pedestals, making them our idols.

But the Lord reminds us that these pursuits are fleeting. Just as the grass withers and the flowers fade, so too do the trends and personas that capture our focus. The real question we must ask ourselves is: Are we chasing after what is temporal, or are we pursuing the eternal?

Redirecting Our Focus

Jesus invites us to turn our eyes upon Him. In Matthew 6:33, He urges, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Chasing Jesus means prioritizing our relationship with Him above all else. It means recognizing that no influencer, no celebrity, can fill the void that only He can satisfy.

As we draw nearer to Christ, we find fulfillment that transcends the superficial allure of fame. Our worth is not defined by likes or followers but by our identity as children of God. He calls us into a relationship where we are known, loved, and accepted just as we are.

Practical Steps to Chase Jesus**

  1. Limit Social Media Consumption: Take time away from platforms that distract you. Use that time to pray, read scripture, or engage in community with fellow believers.
  2. Identify Your Idols: Reflect on who or what you admire most. Are these figures taking precedence over your relationship with God?
  3. Engage in Worship: Use music, art, or writing to express your devotion to the Lord. Let your creativity be a reflection of your faith.
  4. Fellowship with Believers: Surround yourself with those who encourage you to pursue Jesus. Share testimonies and grow together in faith.
  5. Pray for Discernment: Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in identifying distractions in your life and help you refocus on what truly matters.

As we navigate a world filled with distractions, let us heed the Lord’s call to chase after Him wholeheartedly. Let’s not allow the allure of celebrities and influencers to divert our attention from the One who created us and loves us unconditionally. In His presence, we find our true identity, purpose, and fulfillment.

“In a world chasing shadows, let us be the ones who seek the Light. Our worth isn’t found in the applause of others, but in the quiet embrace of the One who knows us by name.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with open hearts, acknowledging that we often lose sight of what truly matters. Help us to recognize the distractions that steer us away from You—whether they be celebrities, influencers, or the relentless pursuit of worldly validation. Teach us to seek You first, to prioritize our relationship with You above all else.

Lord, grant us the wisdom to discern what is eternal from what is temporal. May we find our identity and worth not in the fleeting applause of man but in Your unfailing love and acceptance. Help us to redirect our focus, turning our attention away from those who cannot fulfill us and towards the One who created us.

As we engage with the world around us, remind us to reflect Your light and love. Let our hearts be filled with a desire to know You more deeply, to chase after You fervently. May our lives be testimonies of Your grace and truth, impacting others in ways that draw them closer to You.

We ask for Your guidance in our daily lives, that we may walk in Your ways and chase after Your heart. Thank You for Your patience and for always welcoming us back into Your embrace when we stray. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

May 17th 2026 – The Parable of the Cracked Pot

Scripture Reference:

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” (2 Corinthians 4:7)

Reflection:

I wanted to share a story I recently read called “The Cracked Pot.” It is a well-known inspirational parable, often described as an ancient Chinese or Indian folktale, though its original author is unknown.
What I love about this story is how beautifully it points to a biblical truth: sometimes we see only our cracks, flaws, and broken places, while God sees how He can still use them for His purpose. We may think our weaknesses make us less useful, but often those very places become channels of blessing to others.

Once upon a time, an elderly woman was a water bearer in a village. She carried two large clay pots on a wooden pole across her shoulders. One pot was perfect, while the other had a crack in it. Because of this crack, the leaky pot would lose half of its water by the time they reached her master’s house.

One day, feeling ashamed for its inability to deliver a full load, the cracked pot spoke to the woman. “I’m sorry for my flaws. I feel useless because I can’t carry my share of the water,” it confessed.

The woman smiled gently and encouraged the pot to look at the path beside them. As they walked, the cracked pot noticed a stunning trail of beautiful, blooming wildflowers along its side of the journey.

The woman explained, “Do you see how these flowers have blossomed? They grew only because of the water that spilled from you. Without your cracks, this path would be barren. You are not useless; you are a vessel of beauty and life.”

This narrative mirrors our own struggles with self-worth. The cracked pot is a poignant reminder that our imperfections can lead to unexpected beauty. God uses our weaknesses to reveal His strength and grace, just as the woman points out the vibrant wildflowers growing along the path of the cracked pot.

  1. Embrace Your Imperfections:
Like the cracked pot, we may feel that our flaws make us inadequate. However, it is through our cracks that God’s light shines. Reflect on your own imperfections and consider how they might be used for a greater purpose in God’s plan.
  2. See the Beauty in the Journey:
The wildflowers symbolize the beauty that can emerge from our struggles. Take a moment to recognize the blessings and growth that have come from your challenges. How has God used your journey to cultivate beauty in your life or in the lives of others?
  3. A Purpose Greater Than Ourselves:
The water that the pots carry represents the love and grace of God. The cracked pot may only deliver half of its load, but it still contributes to the flourishing life along the path. Consider how your actions, even if imperfect, can impact those around you. Your story, however cracked it may seem, can inspire and uplift others.

As we reflect on the parable of the cracked pot, let us remember that our worth is not found in our perfection but in our ability to carry God’s love and grace to the world. Embrace your journey and the wildflowers that bloom along the way, for they are a testament to the beauty of God’s handiwork in our lives.

“Even in our cracks and flaws, we can bloom beautifully, for it is through our brokenness that God’s grace flows and transforms the world around us.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the reminders found in Your creation. Thank You for the parable of the cracked pot, which teaches us that our imperfections are not something to be ashamed of, but rather opportunities for Your grace to shine through.

Help us to embrace our flaws and understand that they make us unique vessels of Your love. May we find comfort in knowing that You can use our brokenness to bring forth beauty, just as the wildflowers bloom along the path of the cracked pot.

Guide us to see the impact of our lives on those around us, and empower us to share Your love and grace with others, even when we feel insufficient. Grant us the courage to be open about our struggles and the wisdom to encourage others in theirs.

In moments of doubt, remind us that our worth is found not in our perfection, but in our identity as Your beloved children. May our journeys reflect Your light, allowing us to be vessels of hope and healing in a world that often feels barren. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

May 16th 2026 – The Power of Discernment

Scripture Reference:

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: ‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’” (Matthew 4:5-7)

Reflection:

In our journey of faith, we often encounter individuals who wield Scripture like a sword. They may use verses that resonate, but we must remember: just because someone quotes the Bible doesn’t mean they’re speaking truth. Even the devil himself knows how to twist the Word of God. In the wilderness, when he tempted Jesus, he quoted Psalm 91 with a selective intent, omitting the very lines that spoke of his own defeat.

This manipulation of Scripture can happen not only in casual conversations but also from behind the pulpit. It’s a sobering reality that even those entrusted with the responsibility of preaching can misrepresent God’s Word.

This brings us to a crucial reminder: context matters. Satan’s manipulation illustrates a profound truth about discernment. He quoted Psalm 91:11, claiming that God would send angels to protect Jesus. Yet he conveniently ignored verses 12 and 13, which promised not only protection but also the ultimate victory over evil. The enemy may know Scripture, but he distorts it, attempting to lead us astray.

“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.” (Psalm 91:11-13)

As followers of Christ, we are called to seek understanding, not just memorized verses. Discernment is a gift from God that enables us to recognize the heart behind the words. It’s not enough to hear a verse; we must understand the character of God that it reveals. God’s Word is alive and powerful, but when taken out of context, it can become a weapon of confusion and manipulation.

The enemy aims to create doubt and fear, using half-truths to mislead us. But we have a greater resource—the Holy Spirit, who guides us into all truth. It’s through prayer and meditation on the Word that we sharpen our discernment, allowing us to distinguish between the voice of God and the whispers of the enemy.

Let us not be like those who quote Scripture without understanding its depth. Instead, let us dive deeper into God’s Word, seeking His heart and wisdom. When faced with challenges or confusion, remember that true discernment comes from knowing the God who inspired the Scriptures.

Today, let’s pray for the gift of discernment. May we be anchored in the truth of God’s Word, understanding its full context, and equipped to stand firm against any twisting of His promises. As we grow in our relationship with Him, let us become vessels of truth, reflecting His light in a world that desperately needs it.

“Discernment is not just about knowing Scripture; it’s about knowing the God who speaks through it, allowing His truth to guide our hearts and minds.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. We come before You today, seeking Your wisdom and guidance. Help us to discern truth from deception, to recognize the heart behind Your Scriptures, and to be aware of the ways Your Word can be misused, even from the pulpit.

Grant us a deeper understanding of Your character, so that we may not be easily swayed by selective quotes or misinterpretations. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, empowering us to stand firm in Your truth and reflect Your light in our lives. May we always seek to know You more deeply, allowing Your Word to transform our hearts and minds. Strengthen our faith, so that we can walk confidently in Your ways, rooted in love and anchored in truth. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

May 15th 2026 – From Struggles to Strength: Cultivating Peace in Marriage (Part 2 of 2)

Scripture Reference:

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her… In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies.” (Ephesians 5:25-28)

Reflection:

In this second part of our devotion series “From Struggles to Strength: Cultivating Peace in Marriage”, we focus on how men can cultivate a loving and respectful relationship with their wives. The call to love your wife is profound—it’s not just about affection but about self-sacrifice and commitment. Christ’s love for the Church serves as the ultimate example of how husbands should treat their wives.

  1. Love with Intention: Let your love be a conscious choice, demonstrating affection through words and actions. Small gestures—a kind word, a helping hand, or simply spending quality time—can speak volumes.
  2. Communicate Openly: Foster an environment where your wife feels safe to share her thoughts and feelings. Listen actively, validating her emotions and showing that her voice matters.
  3. Support Her Dreams: Encourage your wife to pursue her passions and aspirations. Be her biggest cheerleader, celebrating her successes and standing by her during challenges.
  4. Practice Forgiveness: No relationship is perfect. When misunderstandings arise, approach them with humility. Offer forgiveness, and seek reconciliation to strengthen your bond.
  5. Nurture Respect: Treat your wife with dignity, valuing her opinions and decisions. This foundational respect fosters a deeper connection and builds trust.

Reflection Questions

  1. What intentional actions can you take this week to show love to your wife?
  2. How can you improve communication and create a safe space for your wife to share her thoughts?
  3. In what ways can you support her dreams and aspirations more fully?

“To cherish your wife is to reflect the love of Christ—selfless, unwavering, and filled with grace. In nurturing her heart, you cultivate a bond that mirrors the beauty of His promise.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the incredible gift of our wives, who are our partners in life and faith. We are grateful for their love, support, and the unique qualities they bring to our lives. Help us to love them as Christ loves the Church—sacrificially and unconditionally.

Guide us to communicate openly and honestly, creating a safe space for our wives to express their thoughts and feelings. May we listen actively, validating their emotions and showing that their voices matter deeply to us.

Teach us to encourage and support their dreams, celebrating their successes and standing by them during challenges. Help us to be their biggest cheerleaders, reminding them of their worth and potential.

When misunderstandings arise, grant us the humility to seek forgiveness and the grace to reconcile. May we practice patience and understanding, recognizing that no relationship is perfect.

Nurture within us a deep respect for our wives, valuing their opinions and decisions. Let our actions reflect Your love and grace, creating a home filled with joy, laughter, and understanding.

Strengthen our commitment to cherish and honor our wives each day, making our love a living testimony of Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

May 14th 2026 – From Struggles to Strength: Cultivating Peace in Marriage (Part 1 of 2)

Scripture Reference:

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her…” (Ephesians 5:25-28)

Reflection:

In the journey of marriage, a man often faces challenges both outside and within the home. The image of a man returning home with arrows in his back serves as a powerful metaphor for the trials he endures. He battles against the world, striving to provide and protect, only to often come home and confront unintentional attacks from his spouse. Today we explore the man’s role in marriage and the importance of peace within the home.

The Struggles of a Godly Man:

  1. Workplace Pressures:
A man often carries the burden of financial responsibility, facing pressures from his job and the expectation to perform under stress. He may come home feeling defeated, yet he is called to lead with love and strength.
  2. Emotional Wounds:
Life can leave a man wounded. He may encounter criticism, failure, or disappointment, which can manifest as frustration or detachment at home. It’s crucial for him to communicate these feelings rather than let them fester.
  3. Spiritual Warfare:
Beyond the physical and emotional, men often face spiritual battles. The enemy seeks to divide and conquer, planting seeds of doubt and anger. A Godly man must remain steadfast in prayer and Scripture, seeking God’s guidance.

A Call for Peace:

A Godly wife has a vital role in fostering a peaceful home environment. By choosing to respond with love rather than criticism, she can help her husband heal from the day’s wounds. Here are ways a wife can contribute to peace:

  • Listening Actively:
A simple act of listening can transform a tense atmosphere. Encouraging open communication allows both partners to share their feelings without fear of judgment.
  • Offering Encouragement:
Words have the power to uplift or wound. Acknowledging the man’s efforts and affirming his worth can be a balm for his soul.
  • Creating a Safe Space:
Making the home a sanctuary where both partners feel safe to express their vulnerabilities is essential. This requires patience and understanding.

Responding to Conflict:

When conflicts arise, both partners must remember their commitment to each other. A Godly man should respond with:

  1. Grace and Forgiveness:
Just as Christ forgives us, a man should practice grace towards his wife, recognizing that both may act out of hurt.
  2. Calmness Under Pressure:
Instead of retaliating when feeling attacked, he can choose to take a moment, breathe, and respond thoughtfully, embodying the peace of Christ.
  3. Seeking God’s Guidance:
Regular prayer and seeking God’s wisdom can help in navigating difficult conversations and decisions.

In the face of life’s arrows, both spouses must strive to uplift one another, creating a home that reflects God’s love and grace. As we work together, may we remember that our ultimate goal is to honor God in our marriage, bringing peace and healing to each other.

“True strength in marriage lies not just in the love we share, but in the patience we extend and the encouragement we offer each other. Let us be a refuge for one another, healing wounds with grace and lifting each other up in every season.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help us prioritize our marriage above all else. Strengthen our commitment to navigate difficulties with grace. In disagreements, remind us to choose forgiveness over resentment.

We pray for healing from our individual struggles. Help us share our burdens, fostering trust and support, and may we always be quick to forgive as You have forgiven us.

In moments of tension, let us respond with calmness and seek resolution. May our marriage reflect Your peace and draw others to You through our love.

Bless our home with laughter and joy. Teach us to celebrate each other and stand firm together. Remind us that we are stronger united in purpose and love.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of each other. We commit our marriage to You, trusting in Your promises. May our love deepen daily, rooted in Your grace. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

May 13th 2026 – Don’t Fight with a Fool

Scripture Reference:

“Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. Answer a fool as his folly deserves, so that he will be wise in his own eyes.” (Proverbs 26:4-5)

Reflection:

In our daily lives, we often encounter situations where arguments and heated discussions seem unavoidable. Proverbs 26:4-5 offers powerful wisdom on how to navigate these difficult interactions. At first glance, these verses may appear contradictory, but together they reveal the importance of discernment.
The first verse warns us against being drawn into foolish behavior ourselves. If we respond with anger, pride, mockery, or bitterness, we risk becoming just like the person we are confronting. The second verse reminds us that there are times when a calm and truthful response is necessary so that foolishness is not mistaken for wisdom. The key is learning when to speak and when to walk away.

Just yesterday, I had a conversation with a dear Christian friend who reminded me of the importance of choosing my battles wisely. We were discussing a disagreement I had with someone who seemed completely set in their views. My friend shared a powerful statement: “Don’t fight with fools.” She reminded me that sometimes it is better to walk away from a fruitless debate rather than continue pouring energy into an argument that leads nowhere.

Her words reminded me of Matthew 10:14, where Jesus instructed His disciples to “shake the dust off your feet” when faced with those who refused to receive the message of the Gospel. It reminded me that many people are blinded to the truth, and it is not my responsibility to force understanding upon them. My responsibility is simply to speak truth in love and trust God with the results.

The truth is, not every disagreement deserves our attention. Some conversations only fuel anger, division, and frustration. Wisdom requires discernment—knowing when a discussion may lead to growth and understanding, and knowing when it will only create more conflict.

Before responding in difficult situations, we should ask ourselves a few important questions:

Is this conversation productive?

Am I responding in love or reacting in frustration?

Will my words bring peace or create more division?

Am I trying to help someone, or am I simply trying to win an argument?

God calls us to reflect His character even in tense moments. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us, “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Our words carry tremendous power. They can either calm a storm or intensify it.
There will be moments when speaking the truth is necessary, but even then, our response should be guided by grace, wisdom, humility, and love. At other times, the wisest response may simply be silence and walking away.

This week, practice discernment in your conversations. When faced with conflict, pause and consider whether engaging will lead to fruitful dialogue or simply escalate tension. Ask God to help you respond with wisdom, patience, and kindness, even when others do not.

Choosing to walk away from foolish arguments is not a sign of weakness, but a testament to the strength found in wisdom and peace.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You today recognizing Your infinite wisdom and understanding. In a world filled with noise, division, and conflict, I often find myself caught in conversations that lead to frustration and misunderstanding. Lord, I ask for Your guidance in navigating these difficult interactions. Help me discern when to speak and when to remain silent so that I do not become entangled in foolish arguments.
Grant me the patience to listen even when I feel provoked. Remind me that every person I encounter is created in Your image and deserving of love, compassion, and respect. Help me respond with grace and humility, reflecting Your character in all my interactions.
When faced with foolishness, give me wisdom to choose words that build up rather than tear down. Teach me to seek understanding instead of simply trying to prove a point. Help me recognize when a conversation has become unfruitful and give me the strength to walk away in peace.
Lord, teach me to speak truth with love and to share Your light in dark places without anger or pride. In moments of conflict, remind me to pause, pray, and seek Your direction before responding. Let Your Holy Spirit guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions so that I may be an instrument of Your peace.
Thank You for Your unfailing presence and for the wisdom found in Your Word. Help me reflect Your love even in difficult situations and give me the courage to stand firm in faith while remaining gentle in spirit.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

May 12th 2026 – Hope, The Anchore of Our Soul

Scripture Reference:

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

Reflection:

Hope is the anchor of our souls, a reassuring promise that God is in control, even amidst uncertainty. In times of trouble, it can be tempting to focus on our circumstances and lose sight of the hope we have in Christ. Yet, Romans 15:13 reminds us that our hope is not based on what we see but on the faithfulness of God.

When we trust in Him, we are filled with joy and peace, allowing us to become vessels of hope for others. This hope is not passive; it empowers us through the Holy Spirit to live boldly and to share the love of Christ with those around us.

Take a moment to reflect on areas in your life where you need hope. Consider writing them down and praying over them, inviting God’s presence into those situations.

Action Step:

Reach out to someone who may be feeling hopeless. Share a word of encouragement or a scripture that has uplifted you. Sometimes, sharing our hope can ignite it in others.

“Hope is the quiet courage that whispers in our hearts, reminding us that every storm will pass, and every dawn brings new possibilities.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude for being the ultimate source of hope. Thank You for the promise that You are always with us, guiding us through every trial and tribulation. In the moments when I feel overwhelmed, remind me of Your faithfulness and love. Help me to trust in Your plans, even when I cannot see the way forward.

Lord, fill me with Your joy and peace, so that I may overflow with hope and be a light to those around me. May Your Holy Spirit empower me to live boldly and to share the hope that I have in You. Help me to surrender my worries and fears into Your hands, knowing that You are working all things together for good.

I lift up those in my life who may be struggling, feeling hopeless or lost. Use me as an instrument of Your love, encouraging them with Your Word and reminding them of the hope that can be found in You. Thank You for hearing my prayers, Lord. I trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing goodness. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

May 11th 2026 – Call to Me

Scripture Reference:

“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

Reflection:

In the midst of turmoil and uncertainty, God invites us into a profound relationship grounded in prayer and trust. Jeremiah 33:3 serves as a divine assurance that when we call upon the Lord, He not only hears us but also responds with wisdom and revelation.

This verse is set against the backdrop of Israel’s exile, a time when hope seemed lost and despair was palpable. Yet, God, through Jeremiah, offers a promise of restoration and insight. How often do we find ourselves in similar situations, feeling isolated or bewildered by life’s challenges? In those moments, the invitation remains: “Call to Me.”

Application:

  1. Set Aside Time for Prayer: Dedicate a specific time each day to seek God in prayer. Use this time to express your concerns, hopes, and desires.
  2. Listen for His Voice: After you pray, take a moment to listen. God may speak to your heart through His Word, through others, or in the quiet of your spirit.
  3. Look for His Answers: Keep an eye out for the “great and hidden things” He reveals. They may come in unexpected ways, through circumstances, scripture, or the wisdom of trusted friends.
  4. Share Your Insights: As God answers your prayers, share your experiences with others. Your testimony can encourage and uplift those who are also seeking God’s guidance.

In our journey of faith, let us remember that God desires a deep connection with us. When we call upon Him, we open the door to His transformative power in our lives. Trust in His promise, knowing that He will answer and guide you through every season.

“Calling on God is not just an act of seeking answers; it is an invitation to discover the depths of His love and the mysteries of His grace.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging Your infinite wisdom and love. Thank You for the promise that when we call upon You, You will answer us. We recognize that sometimes we may approach You with doubt or hesitation, feeling unworthy of Your attention. Yet, You invite us to lay our burdens at Your feet, to seek Your guidance in our lives.

Lord, help us to cultivate a spirit of prayerfulness, always ready to reach out to You in times of joy and sorrow alike. Teach us to be persistent in prayer, trusting that every word we utter is heard by You. When we feel lost or confused, remind us to pause and listen for Your voice, knowing that You are always near.

As we seek Your face, open our eyes to see the “great and hidden things” You wish to reveal to us. Give us the courage to embrace the truths You share, even when they challenge our understanding. May Your Holy Spirit illuminate our hearts, granting us wisdom and insight that surpasses our own.

Father, we also pray for those in our lives who are struggling to call upon You. Help us to be instruments of Your love and encouragement, guiding them toward Your truth and grace. May we share our testimonies of Your faithfulness, reminding others of the hope we have in You.

In moments of stillness, may we experience Your presence in profound ways, filling us with peace that transcends all understanding. We trust in Your plans for our lives, knowing that You are working all things together for our good. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

May 10th 2026 – In His Hands, At Peace

Scripture Reference:

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

Reflection:

In moments of sorrow or anxiety, it can be a comforting thought to remember: “He cares for me.” As believers, we should not let worry overshadow our faith. Instead of carrying heavy burdens alone, let’s cast them onto our Lord.

Imagine the weight you carry. What feels like a crushing load to you is nothing more than dust on the scales for God. He invites us to lay down our worries and rest in His care. There’s a profound peace in surrendering our will to His.

To those who are suffering, know this: God has not overlooked you. Just as He cares for the little sparrows, He will provide for your needs. Don’t let despair take root in your heart. Keep hope alive! Even in the storms of life, wield the shield of faith, and you’ll find that your struggles will lead to relief.

God’s gaze is upon you; His heart aches for your pain. His powerful hand is ready to bring you the help you need. The darkest moments can transform into showers of grace, and the heaviest gloom can give way to brighter days.

Remember, His love for you doesn’t waver in times of trouble; it’s just as strong in your trials as in your triumphs. Imagine the serenity you could experience if you entrusted your worries to the God who knows every detail of your life.

Just as Elijah was sustained with just a little oil and flour during a famine, so too will God sustain you. If He cares for your soul, surely He will care for your body as well. He has never turned away from your burdens—He carries them with you.

So, let go of anxious thoughts. Surrender your concerns to a gracious God who loves you deeply. Embrace the peace that comes from trusting Him fully.

“In surrendering my worries to Him, I find the strength to embrace each day, knowing His love carries my burdens.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with an open heart, seeking Your peace and guidance. Help me to release my worries and fears into Your loving hands. Teach me to trust in Your divine plan for my life, even when the path seems unclear.

Remind me that I am never alone in my struggles, for Your love surrounds me. Fill me with the strength to let go of my burdens and embrace the comfort of Your presence. May I find solace in knowing that You care deeply for me and that Your grace is sufficient for every challenge I face.

As I surrender my cares to You, grant me the wisdom to recognize Your hand at work in my life. Help me to walk confidently in faith, trusting that You are guiding me toward peace and purpose. Thank You for Your unwavering love and support. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
