October 12th 2025 – Homesick for Heaven

Scripture Reading:

“But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it, we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”* (Philippians 3:20)

Reflection:

When you mention feeling homesick for heaven, many might wonder, “How can you miss a place you’ve never been?” Yet, for those of us who love and seek Jesus, it resonates deeply. There’s a growing sense of disconnection with the world around us, a feeling that the things we once cherished—our hobbies, our routines—are slowly losing their luster.

As I began to surrender my worries and truly seek Him, not just in church or among fellow believers, but in the quiet moments of my day, I noticed a profound shift. Walking the narrow road brought a clarity I hadn’t anticipated. Each day, I felt more and more detached from the chaos of this world, as if I was being gently led away from it.

In deepening my relationship with God, I became hyper-aware of my surroundings and my purpose. I realized that we are souls having a human experience, and that this earthly life is fleeting. The stresses and worries that once consumed my thoughts began to fade away. They simply didn’t matter the way they once did.

“For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.” (1 John 2:16)

Everywhere I look, the signs are evident; prophecies unfolding right before our eyes remind us that we are nearing a divine homecoming. It feels like the excitement of childhood days leading up to a long-awaited trip, where anticipation fills every moment. We are in that same season now, waiting to meet Christ.

Life continues with its responsibilities—paying bills, working, studying—but amidst these tasks, we are called to let go of our worries. Whether it’s about our health or the uncertainties of tomorrow, we’re encouraged to embrace childlike faith. Trust that our Heavenly Father is in control and leading us home.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

I find myself increasingly homesick for heaven. It’s a feeling of separation, a yearning that intensifies daily. At one point, I wondered if something was wrong with me, and in my prayers, I asked Jesus to reveal the truth. He did, and it all made sense.

As these ties of stress, anxiety, and negativity begin to break away, I feel a sense of freedom emerging. The reality of what is to come—eternal life with Christ—consumes my thoughts. All I truly desire is to go home and be with Jesus.

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” (John 14:3)

Call to Action:

So, let us live with this hope, this longing for our heavenly home. Remember that we are just passing through, and our true identity lies in Him. Embrace the journey, and look forward to the glorious reunion that awaits us. We are being called home, and soon, we will be with our Savior forever.

“Amidst the chaos of this world, my heart whispers a longing for home, where love and peace reign eternal in the presence of my Savior.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, In this moment, I come before You with a heart full of longing. I thank You for the promise of eternity with You, a hope that fills my soul with peace and joy. As I navigate the challenges and distractions of this world, I often feel homesick for heaven, yearning for the day when I will be fully united with You.

Lord, help me to remember that my true citizenship is in heaven. When I feel disconnected or overwhelmed by the burdens of life, remind me that I am just a traveler on this journey, and my home is with You. Teach me to embrace each day with purpose, seeking You in every moment and leaning on Your promises.

As I walk this narrow road, grant me the strength to let go of worries and anxieties that weigh me down. Help me to cast all my concerns upon You, knowing that You care for me deeply. Fill my heart with childlike faith, trusting in Your perfect plan and timing.

Lord, as I witness the signs of Your return, stir in me a sense of urgency and hope. May I be a light in this world, sharing the love of Christ with those around me. Help me to focus on what truly matters—knowing You, loving others, and preparing for the glorious homecoming that awaits.

Thank You for the assurance that You are always with me, guiding my steps and comforting my soul. I am grateful for the relationship we share and the promise of forever in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

September 6th 2025 – I Trust You Jesus

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

In a world filled with uncertainty and chaos, the invitation to trust in Jesus stands as a beacon of hope. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us to trust in Jesus with all our heart and not to depend on our understanding ot the situation. These words resonate deeply, encouraging us to release the burdens we often carry and to lean into His wisdom rather than our limited perspectives.

Trusting Jesus means surrendering our need for control and allowing Him to guide our steps ahead. It’s easy to look back, to dwell on past mistakes or missed opportunities, but Jesus calls us to look forward with faith. John 14:1 reassures us, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” In moments of doubt or fear, we can find peace in His presence, knowing that He holds our future.

Faith is not merely an intellectual agreement; it’s a profound relationship built on trust. As Galatians 2:16 states, “Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ.” This faith liberates us from the weight of the law and invites us into a life defined by grace. When we put our trust in Him, we are made right with God, not by our own efforts, but through His unending love.

Consider the areas of your life where you may be struggling to trust Jesus completely. What fears or doubts are holding you back? Take a moment to pray, inviting God to strengthen your faith and to help you release those burdens.

As you go about your day, remember that trusting Jesus is a daily choice. Each step forward is an opportunity to embrace His guidance and to leave behind what weighs you down. In Him, you can find strength, hope, and a future filled with promise. Trust in the Lord, for He is faithful!

“Trusting in Jesus means embracing the unknown with faith, knowing that every step I take is guided by His unwavering love.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, As I come before You today, I want to thank You for Your unwavering presence in my life. I acknowledge that trusting You fully can be a challenge, especially when the path ahead seems unclear. Yet, I am reminded of Your promises and the assurance that You have a plan for me. Help me to let go of my fears and anxieties, and to place my trust in You completely.

Lord, I pray for the strength to surrender my understanding and to lean solely on Your wisdom. Teach me to seek Your will in every aspect of my life—my relationships, my work, and my dreams. May I find comfort in knowing that You are guiding my steps, even when I cannot see the way forward.

I ask for Your peace to fill my heart, especially during times of uncertainty. Remind me that I do not have to carry my burdens alone; I can lay them at Your feet. Help me to trust that You are always working for my good, even when circumstances seem overwhelming.

As I navigate the challenges of life, may I be a reflection of Your love and grace to those around me. Equip me to encourage others to trust in You, just as I am learning to do. Let my faith be a testament to Your goodness and faithfulness.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of faith in Jesus Christ, through whom I am made right with You. Help me to remember that my worth is not defined by my achievements or failures, but by Your unconditional love.

In moments of doubt, remind me of Your promise, that I should not let my heart be troubled. Instead, let me find peace in trusting You and in Your perfect plan for my life.

I place my trust in You today and every day, knowing that You are with me every step of the way. Thank You for loving me, guiding me, and for the hope I have in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

July 2nd 2025 – Uncomfortable

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:2-4)

As followers of Jesus, we often seek comfort and stability in our lives. We cherish moments of peace, joy, and ease, hoping to remain in a place where everything feels right. Yet, it is in the uncomfortable moments of life—when trials and challenges arise—that we truly have the opportunity to grow in our faith and deepen our relationship with Christ.

When we encounter difficulties, we are often forced to confront our limitations and our need for God’s strength. In these moments, we realize that it is not our own abilities that sustain us but the grace and love of Jesus Christ. Our faith is tested, and through these tests, we discover the importance of trust. Trusting God means leaning on Him when the road gets tough, when the path is unclear, and when we feel vulnerable.

Consider the story of Peter walking on water (Matthew 14:22-33). As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he was able to do the impossible. But the moment he focused on the wind and waves, he began to sink. This illustrates how easy it is to become overwhelmed by discomfort and fear. Jesus didn’t let Peter drown; instead, He reached out and saved him. In our own uncomfortable moments, we must remember that Jesus is right there, ready to lift us up.

Take a moment to reflect on a recent trial or uncomfortable situation in your life. How did it challenge your faith? What lessons did you learn about trusting in Jesus? Consider writing down your thoughts or sharing them with a trusted friend or mentor.

“Remember, growth often comes from the most uncomfortable places. Embrace the process and allow God to transform you through it.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lessons learned in discomfort. Help me to embrace the trials I face, knowing that they are opportunities for growth and deeper faith. Teach me to trust You more in these moments and to find joy in the journey, even when it is hard. May I always remember that my strength comes from You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 3rd 2025 – Focus On The Things Above

“The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” (John 11:44)

Symbolically, Lazarus is like many Christians. The Bible speaks of us passing from death unto new life when we are born again. However, it is also true that in the physical and emotional realm, we bring our “grave clothes” from our old life with us (i.e., habits, attitudes, depression, etc.), and we need to be “loosed” to fully enjoy our life as Christians.

Our emotions and attitudes follow what we think. When we focus our attention on our problems, they are magnified out of proportion. When we neglect our problems and think on God’s provision, the answer is magnified, and the problem shrinks. Whatever we think upon will dominate us. If we think on depressing things, we’ll be depressed. If we think on uplifting things, we’ll be uplifted. If we think, “By His stripes, we are healed,” we’ll be healed. If we think on sickness, we’ll be sick.

Godly contentment isn’t dependent upon circumstances. That is totally the opposite of the way most people think today. No one really desires depression, but very few feel any responsibility or authority to maintain positive emotions in the face of negative circumstances. They think emotions follow circumstances. That’s not true. Emotions follow the way we think, and we can choose to think on things that are lovely, true, of good report, and so forth, regardless of our circumstances. As we think, so we respond emotionally.

Focus your attention on the invisible truths of the spiritual realm that are eternal, instead of the visible things of this physical world that will pass away.

“We all have a measure of faith. What we choose to put our faith in will ultimately guide our decision-making, our perspective, and the course of action for our lives.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the love You have shown me through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Help me to hold firm to this Truth so that my faith will continue to grow. Fill me with Your Spirit daily so that I will stop hearing the lies from the enemy. Protect me and help teach me that I can have real hope. Encourage me to focus on Your written word when You feel distant in my life. Also, help me share with anyone who needs to hear the Gospel message. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Put your faith and trust in Jesus! If you do not know Him personally, please read below.

Jesus Christ says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20).

The Bible promises eternal life to all who receive Christ: “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:11-13).

November 13th 2024 – Embracing the Light of Christ

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'” (John 8:12)

In a world frequently shrouded in uncertainty, turmoil, and shadows, the assurance that Jesus is the Light of the World offers us a profound sense of hope and direction. His radiant light serves as a guiding beacon, helping us navigate the complexities and challenges of life. When we choose to follow Him, we not only accept His guidance but also invite His transformative presence into our hearts, renewing our spirits and illuminating our minds.

Think back to moments in your life when you felt adrift or burdened by the weight of your circumstances. How did seeking solace in Jesus alter your view of those challenges? His divine light does more than merely dispel the darkness; it equips us with the strength to shine brightly for others. As we reflect His love and grace, we become sources of hope and encouragement for our families, friends, and communities.

“His light illuminates our path, guiding us through life’s uncertainties. When we choose to follow Him, we invite His presence into our lives, transforming our hearts and minds.”

Prayer:

Heavenly father, we thank You for being our unwavering light, guiding us through the fog of uncertainty. Help us to walk confidently in Your illumination and to share that light with those around us. May our lives radiate Your love and hope, shining brightly in a world that is often desperate for bFather, Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you do not know Jesus personally, Give yourself the greatest gift you could possible ever receive. I encourage you not to pass up the precious gift of His love and eternal life.
