August 17th 2025 – Fruit of the Spirit – Part 5 of 9

We are on the 5th day of a 9-day journey to learn about all of the fruit of the Spirit – the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from God.

Gentleness (kindness) — We should live “in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left” (2 Corinthians 6:6-7).

Let’s take a look at what, according to Scripture, accompanies true kindness: “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each another, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:31-32)

To consistently live up to all this is humanly impossible! But “with God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26)

Kindness starts with caring —being tenderhearted and compassionate toward others. (Proverbs 12:10)

We must make it our goal and habit to be actively looking for opportunities to show kindness. When we see one, we need to act quickly before the opportunity is gone.

“Dear children, let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions” (1 John 3:18)

Some people think kindness is weak—not something for “go-getters” to be bothered with. Big mistake! If we want God, who has ultimate control of how things go, to be kind to us, we’d better be kind to others. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew 5:7)

Lack of kindness is epidemic. The apostle Paul accurately foretold a cold and hard-hearted world “in the last days” (2 Timothy 3:1-2)

Jesus Christ practiced kindness that was radical for that time and culture. He always had great concern for women as well as men, for children as well as adults, for other races as well as the Jewish race, and for the sick and weak as well as the strong. Often He wore Himself out praying for people, healing people, feeding people and helping them in other ways.

When Jesus looked on the multitudes of people with all their problems, sicknesses and confusion, He was “moved with compassion” (Matthew 9:36, 14:14, 18:27)

As we look at the people around us, we, too, should be moved with gentleness, compassion and kindness. We, too, should be helping, giving, sharing, caring, encouraging, extending mercy, filled with compassion and acting on it as we are able.

With each of us, may the fruit of kindness continue to blossom and grow. Above all, may we strive to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ, who personified God’s heart in the greatest example of loving-kindness.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for the forgiveness of my sins and for giving me the opportunity to experience life more abundantly. Lord, thank You for revealing Yourself to me through Your Word. I want learn how offer gentleness, kindness and compassion to others in a way that You teach. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

July 26th 2025 – When We Give

“Then Peter said, Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God.” (Acts 3:6-8)

In our daily lives, we often focus on what we lack instead of recognizing the abundance we already possess. In this powerful story, Peter didn’t offer silver or gold; he provided something far more valuable: the healing power of Jesus’ name. This moment teaches us that true giving comes not from our material wealth, but from the strength and gifts that God has placed within us.

Ask yourself: What do I have to offer? You might think you don’t possess the resources to support your church or community, but God is more interested in the willingness of your heart. If you can give five dollars with joy, it holds the same value to Him as a hundred. It’s not about the amount but the intention behind it.

Consider your time and talents. Perhaps you feel you can’t commit fully to serving in children’s or teen ministries. However, even small contributions, like helping out during special events, can make a significant impact. The message is clear: “Give What You Have” and let it flow from a place of love. God looks beyond our circumstances; He sees our hearts.

Think of the widow who gave her two small coins. Jesus highlighted her offering not because of its monetary value, but because she gave all she had. The challenge is not merely to give a little but to give wholeheartedly. What do you have today? As you share what you possess, you may be surprised by the abundance that God will pour back into your life.

“The only things we can keep are the things we freely give to God.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, today I choose to give from what I have, from the depths of my heart. I understand that You are not asking for what I lack, but for my willingness to share what I possess. As I offer my time, talents, and treasures—not out of obligation but with joy—I trust that You will bless me in ways that exceed my expectations. Thank You for guiding me to give freely and for the abundant blessings that follow. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

June 11th 2025 – God’s Love Never Fails

“Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.” (1 Corinthians 13:8)

Have you ever contemplated the meaning of love from an eternal perspective? One day, everything we know on this earth will transform. When Christ returns in all His glory, heaven will merge with our reality, altering our lives, homes, bodies, and relationships forever. The things we often hold dear—our achievements, possessions, and even the knowledge we’ve gained—will fade into insignificance. Yet, amidst all this change, one truth remains constant: love.

When we stand before Christ, our faith will no longer be necessary, and the hope for a brighter future will be fulfilled. But love will endure. The love that spoke the universe into existence and breathed life into humanity will continue to nourish the saints in heaven. This is not just any love; it is the divine love that walked among us, healing the sick, comforting the brokenhearted, and ultimately, bearing our sins on the cross. This same love has prepared a place for us for all eternity. The love that empowers us in this life will also embrace us in the next. It is a love that transcends time and space, a love that is constant in its commitment, unwavering in its support, and ever-present in our darkest moments. This love never fails, never falters, and never tires. It is the unwavering love of God.

“We love Him because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19)

Since this love is everlasting, let us start embodying it today. We will share eternity with our brothers and sisters in Christ, so why not express that love now? Love is not merely a feeling; it is an action, a choice we make daily. As we extend the love given to us through Christ—through kindness, compassion, and forgiveness—the world will take notice and yearn for the same. Our love can be a reflection of God’s grace, a testimony of His goodness. When they seek it, we can guide them to the infinite source of love—Jesus, who is the embodiment of love itself.

Let us remember that love releases the power of the Spirit in our lives and in our churches. It brings unity where there is division, healing where there is hurt, and hope where there is despair. When we allow God’s love to flow through us, we become vessels of His grace, agents of change in a world that desperately needs it.

“Amidst the fleeting whispers of knowledge and the temporary echoes of prophecy, love stands eternal, unwavering in its promise to endure through all trials and tribulations.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the profound love You have shown me. Thank You for loving me unconditionally, for Your grace that covers my shortcomings, and for the hope that fills my days. Help me to love others in the same way You have loved me—without reservation and with a heart that seeks the best for them. Teach me to recognize opportunities to share Your love, whether through a kind word, a listening ear, or a helping hand. May my actions reflect Your light in this world, drawing others closer to You. Use me today as an instrument of Your peace and a beacon of Your love. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

April 25th 2025 – Caring For Those Who Struggle

“To our shame I say that we were too weak for that! But in whatever anyone is bold–I speak foolishly–I am bold also.” (2 Corinthians 11:21)

How do you treat those who are struggling? Whether it’s those at your work or a stranger on the street. Maybe it’s an adult child that struggles with drugs or a elderly parent at the end of stages their life. How you treat them tells a lot about yourself.

Why is that the case? Simply because those who are weak and struggling are not often in a position to help us or pay us back. When we care for the less fortunate or minister to those who are barely hanging on, we do so knowing there is no physical benefit. The opposite is also true if we refuse to help those in need because there is no benefit for us, it clarify our motives.

In 2 Corinthians 11, Paul begins sharing everything he endured for the sake of others. He did so because his motives were being questioned and yet, he was able to clearly say that he endured all that pain so that the lost would hear the good news. This is what I desire for my own life, I also do not want to live my life with regrets that I didn’t do my best. My prayer is that more feel the same. Unfortantally we don’t often see that in this world anymore..

Today is the day to look around for those in your life who may be weak,  hurting or struggling. Let’s serve them with the love of Christ, so that they would be blessed. It may cost us something, but it is worth it in the end.

“How we treat those who are weaker tells a lot about us. But don’t be discouraged by those who are not ready for our help or care. In that case, pray for them.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,  Forgive me for any times I may have helped people with ulterior motives. Give me a heart for those who are in need and the strength to serve them. I desire to give of myself for the benefit of others, no matter the cost. Fill me with Your Spirit and teach me through Your Word. Please forgive me when I tend to want to give up or figure things out in my own reasoning. Help me to remain obedient, faithful, and filled with Your Spirit to lead, guide and direct me in all things. Please give me patience and compassion in all situations. I love You lord. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

April 13th 2025 – Choose to Love

“Let all that you do be done with love.” (1 Corinthians 16:14)

In 1 Corinthians 16:14, we are presented with a profound yet straightforward command: to infuse every action with love. While the directive may seem simple, the execution is often a challenge. Living in a broken world, it can be difficult to embody love in every situation. Our instinct is often self-preservation; we become preoccupied with safeguarding our emotions, our lives, and our possessions. Yet, true love compels us to let go of these attachments for the benefit of others.

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)

As believers, we are liberated from the bondage of self. We are called to love others just as Christ has loved us. He serves as our ultimate example and our source of strength. On our own, loving others can feel impossible; we must lean on Jesus. So, the next time someone cuts you off in traffic, remember the cross and the sacrifice He made for you. He loved us even in our unworthiness, granting us the ability to extend forgiveness to those who may not deserve it.

“You’re not truly living until you give your life away and start to love.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I am profoundly grateful for Your love and grace. Because You loved me first, I am empowered to love others in all circumstances. Grant me the strength to walk in obedience and to actively seek opportunities to care for those around me. As Your love flourishes within me, may my selfishness diminish. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
