Scripture Reference:
“Jesus entered Jericho and made His way through the town. There was a man named Zacchaeus, the chief tax collector, who had become very rich. He tried to see Jesus but was too short to see over the crowd.” (Luke 19:1-5)
Reflection:
Zacchaeus was seen as a failure by the world. He was short, disliked because he was a tax collector, and deep down, he didn’t like himself either. Although he was wealthy and powerful, he was utterly lonely and had no real friends.
One day, everything changed for Zacchaeus when Jesus came to town. He realized that he mattered to God.
When Zacchaeus heard that Jesus was nearby, he wanted to see Him, but the crowd was too tall. So, he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to get a better view. When Jesus passed by, He looked up and called out, “Zacchaeus! Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” (Luke 19:3-5)
Imagine how Zacchaeus felt in that moment! His heart must have raced. Here was Jesus, noticing him, a man who felt small and insignificant.
Why did Jesus stop?
He stopped because He knew exactly where Zacchaeus was in his life.
God knows where you are too.
He knows your struggles and your feelings of being lost or alone. You might feel stuck in a difficult situation right now, but remember: you are not forgotten.
- He sees your tears. No pain goes unnoticed; God is aware of every hurtful word you’ve heard and every difficult moment you’ve faced.
- You are valued. “What is the price of five sparrows, two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. The very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” (Luke 12:6-7)
The Gift of Attention
The greatest gift of love is giving someone your attention. When you focus on someone, you are telling them, “You matter. You are important.”
God pays attention to you every moment of every day because you are precious to Him.
Take a moment to reflect on how God sees you. Remember, you are never alone; you are deeply valued and loved. How can you remind yourself of this truth daily?
“Even in my smallest moments, I am seen and valued by God, reminding me that I am never alone.”
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for always seeing me, even when I feel insignificant or lost in the crowd. I am grateful that no matter my circumstances—whether I feel lonely, misunderstood, or even ashamed—You are there, ready to embrace me with Your love.
Help me to remember that I am valued in Your eyes, not for my achievements or failures, but simply because I am Yours. Teach me to seek You in every moment of my day, and to trust in Your plan for my life, even when I don’t understand it.
Lord, I lay before You my worries and fears. I ask for Your guidance as I navigate the challenges ahead. Please fill my heart with Your peace and strength, reminding me that I am never alone.
As I strive to glorify Your name in all I do, help me to reflect Your love to others. Let my actions and words be a testament to the grace I have received from You. May I be a source of encouragement and hope for those around me, reminding them of their worth in Your eyes.
Thank You for Your unwavering attention and love. I trust in Your plans for me and surrender my life into Your hands. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
