July 10th 2026 – Be Still and Know – A Modern Parable

Scripture Reference:

“Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

The Story:

In a bustling town, there lived a honey bee named Bella. Bella was known for her tireless work ethic. From dawn until dusk, she flew from flower to flower, gathering nectar, ensuring the hive would thrive. Yet, despite her efforts, Bella often felt anxious and overwhelmed. She buzzed through life, worrying about the future, the weather, and if her contributions were enough.

One day, while gathering nectar, Bella noticed an old tortoise named Samson slowly making his way across the meadow. Bella called out, “Samson, why are you moving so slowly? Don’t you have work to do?”

Samson looked up with a gentle smile. “Ah, Bella, I have learned that there is beauty in stillness. In my quiet moments, I can hear the whispers of the Creator.”

Curious, Bella decided to pause for a moment and observe the world around her. She noticed the vibrant colors of the flowers, the gentle rustling of the leaves, and the warmth of the sun on her wings. For the first time, she felt a sense of peace wash over her.

“Why didn’t I see this before?” Bella thought. “In my busyness, I have missed all the wonders around me.”

Samson continued, “Sometimes, we need to be still to truly know Him. In the stillness, we can hear God’s voice guiding us, reminding us that we are enough just as we are.”

Inspired, Bella began to incorporate moments of stillness into her busy days. She would take a deep breath, close her eyes, and simply be. In those moments, she felt a deeper connection with God, realizing that her worth was not tied to her busyness but to His love and grace.

Reflection:

Just like Bella, many of us rush through our days, consumed by responsibilities and worries. The world often pushes us to stay busy, creating a sense of urgency that can drown out the gentle whisper of God. We equate our worth with our productivity, measuring our value by how much we accomplish each day. Yet, in this relentless pursuit, we may overlook the beauty and grace that God offers us in moments of quiet.

The call to “be still” is not merely an invitation to pause; it’s a profound reminder to step back from the chaos and acknowledge God’s sovereignty. In stillness, we are encouraged to reflect on who we are in Christ—not just what we do. This is a space where we can lay down our burdens and anxieties, trusting God to carry what we cannot.

When we take time to be still, we open ourselves to hear His voice more clearly. It’s in these sacred moments that we can find clarity, guidance, and comfort. We might hear God affirming our identity as His beloved children, reminding us that our worth is rooted in His love rather than our accomplishments.

Consider the ways God might be calling you into stillness. It could be through prayer, meditation, or simply sitting in nature. Think about the distractions that keep you from this experience. Are there habits or commitments that you need to set aside to carve out time for God?

Somtimes, creating a habit of stillness can be challenging, but it’s vital for spiritual renewal. As we cultivate these moments, we may find that our worries diminish, replaced by a sense of peace that surpasses understanding. The beauty of being still is that it allows us to reconnect with our Creator, who desires a relationship with us.

  1. In what areas of your life are you feeling overwhelmed? What specific worries can you bring before God?
  2. How can you incorporate moments of stillness into your daily routine? Consider setting aside a few minutes each day to simply breathe and listen.
  3. What do you hear when you take time to be still before God? Write down any thoughts or impressions you receive during these quiet moments.

“Amidst the chaos of life, stillness reveals the whispers of God’s love, reminding us that our worth is found not in our busyness, but in simply being His.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help us to embrace stillness in our lives. In the midst of our busy days, teach us to quiet our hearts and listen for Your voice. May we find peace in knowing that You are God, and in Your presence, we are enough.

Guide us to carve out moments of solitude, where we can reflect on Your goodness and grace. Help us to lay down our burdens, trusting that You are in control of our worries and fears. As we seek You in stillness, may we discover the depths of Your love and the clarity of Your purpose for our lives. Thank You for Your unwavering presence, reminding us that we are never alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

December 16th 2025 – Awakening to His Wisdom

Scripture Reading:

“For my people are foolish; they do not know me; they are stupid children; they have no understanding; they are wise in doing evil, but how to do good they know not.” (Jeremiah 4:22)

Reflection:

In this poignant verse, God, through Jeremiah, highlights a profound truth about human nature: our tendency to stray from the path of wisdom and understanding. The Israelites, despite being His chosen people, had turned away from knowing God, leading to folly and destruction. This passage serves as a mirror reflecting our own lives.

Foolishness vs. Wisdom:
It’s easy for us to become entangled in the ways of the world, becoming wise in doing evil rather than pursuing righteousness. We may find ourselves justifying actions that stray from God’s commands, prioritizing our desires over His will. This verse prompts us to examine our own hearts—are we actively seeking to know God, or are we complacent, relying on our own understanding?

The Call to Know God:
To combat this foolishness, we must cultivate a deeper relationship with God. This involves prayer, studying His Word, and seeking His presence. As we grow in our knowledge of Him, we begin to understand His heart, His ways, and, ultimately, His goodness. Knowing God equips us to discern right from wrong and empowers us to act justly.

Encouragement:
In moments of confusion or moral ambiguity, remember that God desires to guide us. He invites us into a deeper relationship where we can learn to do good. Let us commit to pursuing understanding, leaning not on our own wisdom but on His everlasting truth.

Take a moment to reflect on how you can deepen your relationship with God this week. Consider specific steps you can take—whether through prayer, reading Scripture, or serving others—to align your understanding with His wisdom.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your unfailing love and guidance. We come before You, recognizing our tendency to stray from Your ways and the foolishness that sometimes clouds our judgment. Forgive us for the moments when we prioritize our desires over Your truth, and for the times we become wise in doing evil rather than seeking Your goodness.

Help us to cultivate a deeper relationship with You, Lord. Ignite a burning desire in our hearts to know You more intimately. As we immerse ourselves in Your Word, grant us understanding and discernment to recognize Your voice amid the noise of the world. Teach us to seek Your wisdom in every decision we make, so that our actions reflect Your love and grace.

Lord, empower us to act justly and to be vessels of Your goodness in our communities. May our lives shine brightly as testimonies of Your transformative power. We ask for Your help in overcoming the distractions that lead us away from You, and we trust that You will guide us back to the path of righteousness.

Thank You for Your patience with us, and for the promise that when we seek You, we will find You. May we always be hungry for Your presence, eager to learn, and ready to serve. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Invitation to Accept Jesus:
