October 13th 2026 – When We Give

Scripture Reference:

“Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:6)

Reflection:

We often focus on what we do not have—the money, time, strength, or resources we wish we could offer. But Peter reminds us that God is not asking us to give what is beyond our reach. He invites us to give what He has already placed in our hands.

Peter had no silver or gold, but he carried something far greater: faith in the name of Jesus. Through that name, a man who had never walked received strength, stood to his feet, and entered the temple praising God.

What do you have today?

Perhaps you cannot give a large financial gift, but you can give what is within your means. Perhaps you cannot serve every week, but you can help when you are able. Perhaps you cannot fix someone’s situation, but you can offer encouragement, prayer, or a listening ear.

Jesus noticed the poor widow who gave two small coins. Though her gift seemed insignificant to others, it was precious to God because she gave wholeheartedly. Heaven measures generosity not by the size of the gift, but by the love and sacrifice behind it.

God does not compare your offering with someone else’s. He looks at your heart. When you give your time, talents, resources, and faith with a willing spirit, He can use even the smallest offering for His Kingdom.

So do not be discouraged by what you lack. Ask instead, “What has God placed in my hands?” Give that faithfully, and trust Him with the results.

“God is not measuring the size of what we give, but the love in our hearts when we give it. Faithfully offe and trust Him to multiply it for His glory.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that You are not asking me to give what I do not have. Help me recognize the time, talents, resources, strength, and opportunities You have placed in my hands.

Teach me to give with a cheerful and willing heart, not from pressure or obligation, but from love and gratitude for all You have done for me. Remove fear, selfishness, and hesitation from my heart, and help me trust that whatever I place in Your hands can be used for Your glory.

When I feel that my offering is too small, remind me that You see the heart behind the gift. Help me serve faithfully, encourage others sincerely, and share generously according to what You have given me.

Use my life, my words, my abilities, and my resources to bless those around me and advance Your Kingdom. Thank You for the privilege of giving, and for the assurance that You can multiply even the smallest offering when it is given in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

When Life Feels Heavy, What Is Holding You Back From Trusting Jesus?

Are fear, uncertainty, or discouragement keeping you from fully trusting Jesus? When your heart feels weary and the road ahead seems unclear, you may wonder what to do next. Jesus lovingly invites you to place your worries, burdens, and future into His hands.

In Jesus, you will find:

  • Peace instead of fear: He remains near through every uncertain moment.
  • Strength in weakness: His grace sustains you when you feel tired and overwhelmed.
  • Hope beyond circumstances: Your struggles do not define your worth or separate you from God’s love.
  • Courage to keep going: Jesus gives you grace for today and hope for tomorrow.
  • A deeper faith: Difficult seasons can draw you closer to God and teach you to depend on Him more completely.

If life has caused you to question God, today is an opportunity to draw nearer to Jesus. Bring Him your fears, surrender your burdens, and trust Him to guide you one step at a time.
