October 5th 2025 – A Glorious Seed

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57)

In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, the image of a seed holds profound hope. A seed, so small and seemingly insignificant, carries within it the potential for immense growth—like a towering redwood tree reaching toward the heavens. This mirrors our spiritual journey. When we are born again, God plants His Holy Spirit within us, a seed of divine transformation that begins to flourish in our lives.

“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” (Ephesians 1:13-14)

Today, we face challenges that test our faith and resilience. Yet, amidst this turmoil, we must remember that God is not only depositing His Spirit in us; He is actively preparing us for a glorious eternity with Him. As we cultivate our relationship with the Holy Spirit, we start to exhibit the fruits of this transformation—love, joy, peace, and strength. These are not just attributes we aspire to; they are the very essence of our new life in Christ, reflecting the heavenly work within us.

As we navigate this life, let us allow heaven’s perspective to shape our thoughts and actions. May we embody the love and grace of Christ in our interactions, sharing the good news of our glorious future with those around us. Let us be reminded that our journey does not end here; it is only the beginning of an everlasting relationship with our Creator.

“Just as a tiny seed holds the promise of a mighty tree, so too does the Holy Spirit within us nurture the potential for a life transformed by grace, reaching toward the glory of eternity.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I stand in awe of the incredible gift You have planted within me—the Holy Spirit, a seed of Your love and grace. Help me, Lord, to nurture this gift and allow it to flourish in my life. Teach me to live with an eternal perspective, focusing on what truly matters. As I navigate the complexities of this world, may Your Spirit guide my steps, filling me with wisdom and strength.

Help me to be a beacon of hope and love to those around me, sharing the message of Your salvation and the promise of our glorious future together. May my life reflect Your glory, and may I continually seek to grow in my faith, becoming more like Christ each day, in Jesus’ glorious name, I pray. Amen.

September 9th 2025 – I Want to Hear Your Voice

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)

In our journey of faith, there are moments when we yearn to hear the voice of God clearly. Yet, the cacophony of our own thoughts, fears, and even external influences can create confusion. We might wonder, “Is that the Holy Spirit speaking, or is it just my own mind?” In these moments, it’s crucial to take a step back and center ourselves.

Jesus reassures us that His sheep hear His voice. This promise reminds us that we are not alone in our quest for divine guidance. The key is to quiet the noise around and within us, allowing space for the Holy Spirit to communicate with clarity.

Take a few moments to sit in silence. Focus on your breath and allow the distractions to fade away. As you meditate, repeat the phrase, “Speak, Lord, I am listening.” Invite the Holy Spirit to fill the silence with His voice, guiding your thoughts and comforting your spirit.

Journal your thoughts and any impressions you receive during your quiet time. Reflect on how you can cultivate a deeper awareness of the Holy Spirit in your daily life. Consider setting aside specific times for prayer and meditation, creating a routine that fosters a closer relationship with God.

Remember, hearing God’s voice is often a process. Trust in His timing as you grow in your ability to discern His guidance.

“To hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, we must first quiet the noise within and around us, for His guidance often comes in the stillness of our hearts.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before You, seeking Your presence and guidance. I bind every demonic spirit that seeks to disrupt my thoughts and silence them in Jesus’ name. I command my thoughts, my will, and my emotions to be still right now. Holy Spirit, I invite You to speak to me. Open my heart and ears to hear Your voice above all others. Help me to discern Your truth amidst the confusion. I trust in Your promise that I am Your sheep and that I can hear You. Lead me, Lord, and I will follow. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

August 31st 2025 – His Gentle Voice

“Then He said, ‘Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.’ Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind, there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.” (1 Kings 19:11-12)

In this powerful moment, we find the prophet Elijah, feeling overwhelmed and uncertain, following God’s command to go to the mountain and wait. Like many of us, Elijah might have expected a dramatic display of power—a showstopper that would affirm God’s presence. God did send spectacular events: a violent wind that split mountains, an earth-shaking quake, and a consuming fire. Yet, His voice was not in any of these awe-inspiring phenomena.

How often do we, too, crave the extraordinary? We often search for God in the loud and the dramatic, only to overlook the gentle nudges of His Spirit. The truth is, most of the time, God speaks to us in the quiet moments—through that still, small voice within us. This voice is the Holy Spirit, patiently guiding us if we allow ourselves to be still and listen.

Jesus reminds us in John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” If our focus is always on the external—on the “winds, fires, and earthquakes” of life—we risk missing the profound ways God communicates with us. It’s essential to remember that God is Spirit, and true worship comes from a heart that seeks Him in spirit and truth.

There’s a beautiful song I used to listen to called “Heart to Heart,” which captures the essence of our relationship with God. It’s not just about words; it’s a deep connection—spirit to Spirit. So today, I invite you to carve out some time amidst your busy life. Find a quiet space, silence the distractions, and just be still. Open your heart and your mind to hear what your Heavenly Father is saying to you. Trust me; you won’t be disappointed by what He reveals.

“Amidst the storms and chaos of life, it is in the quiet stillness that we truly hear the whispers of God, guiding our hearts toward His truth.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the promise that Your sheep know Your voice. I come before You as one of Your flock, seeking to deepen my connection with You. Teach me to recognize Your voice amidst the noise of life and to hear You distinctly and clearly. Help me to discern the spirits that speak to me, so I may know which are from You and which are not. As Your Word tells us, we must test the spirits to see if they align with Your truth.

Lord, I pray that You draw me closer to You, so that I may always recognize and respond to Your voice, never straying to listen to the voice of a stranger. May our relationship grow stronger each day, as I seek to worship You in spirit and truth. I ask for Your guidance and wisdom, that I may walk in Your light and reflect Your love. May my heart be open to hearing Your gentle whispers. I pray all these things in the name of Jesus, my Savior. Amen.

August 21st 2025 – Fruit of the Spirit – Part 9 of 9

We are on the last day of a 9-day journey. As we studied this week, Paul listed nine godly virtues that constitute the fruit of God’s Spirit—the inward and outward effects of having the gift of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. They are “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”

Temperance (self-control) – “But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love” (2 Peter 1:5-7).

Where the New King James Version has “self-control,” the earlier King James Version used the word “temperance,” which means self-restraint. Today, however, this word usually carries the narrower sense of moderation or, when referring to alcoholic drinks, total abstinence. Therefore, as commonly understood today, temperance is only a small part of self-control.

Another thing to consider is whether the sequential order of the nine godly virtues is significant. The first listed, love, is clearly the most important. Is self-control listed last because it’s the least important? On the contrary, self-control is extremely vital. Paul emphasized it alongside “righteousness … and the judgment to come” (Acts 24:25).

Perhaps self-control is listed last as the capstone—since it takes a lot of self-control to exercise the other eight virtues! It takes a lot of self-control just to “bridle” one’s tongue. Maybe Paul was thinking of love and self-control as the two great bookends of the set.

We all face temptations to sin throughout our lives. When confronted with temptation, we must strive, as far as possible, to get away from it—flee! Even if you think you have a lot of self-control, don’t put it to the test unnecessarily.

Consider some of the things we are told to flee: “Flee” from a “stranger” (a teacher of lies), “flee sexual immorality,” as Joseph had to literally flee (Genesis 39:12), flee from idolatry, flee all kinds of evil, and flee youthful lusts (2 Timothy 2:22).

Jesus said, “The spirit [one’s attitude] indeed is willing, but the flesh [human willpower] is weak” (Matthew 26:41). God will not take away a person’s free will to make choices in life. But as long as you keep inviting Him into your life, He will empower you “to will and to act according to His good purpose” (Philippians 2:13).

As with all of us, your biggest spiritual enemy has likely been yourself. But take heart. With God’s great help, you can conquer this enemy!

“We need self-control to avoid not only outright evil but also too much of the good things.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You in prayer to magnify and glorify Your precious name. Draw close to me, O Heavenly Father. Lead me, guide me, walk beside me, and shape me into who You want me to be. Allow Your will to be done in my life, so I can become a living, breathing testimony. Take control, Jesus; be my strength. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Allow me to display self-control when temptations draw near. Help me to resist whatever comes my way. Make me pure, holy, and true when the enemy tries to intervene. Give me peace in my mind, body, and soul so that I can remain focused on You and Your word daily. Let Your Word be the bread that I crave and long for as much as the air that I breathe. Let lustful desires, anger, guilt, jealousy, sorrow, and pride just fall away at the sound of Your great name. May these things not control my actions, emotions, or thoughts. I continually desire to seek You. Give me the strength to overcome. Continue to grow the Fruits of the Spirit in me. Without You, I cannot go on; I need You. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Salvation Prayer:

Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a humble heart, acknowledging my need for You. I recognize that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die for my sins and to offer me the gift of eternal life. I believe that He rose again, conquering death and sin.

Jesus, I invite You into my heart today. Be my Lord and Savior. Help me to turn away from my old ways and to follow You in faith. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, guiding me in my journey of faith. I commit my life to You, trusting in Your love and grace. Thank You for this new beginning. In Your precious name, I pray, Amen.

August 18th 2025 – Fruit of the Spirit – Part 6 of 9

We are on the 6th day of a 9-day journey to learn about all of the Fruit of the Spirit – the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from God

Goodness – “Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power” (2 Thessalonians 1:11). “For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth” (Ephesians 5:9 ).

According to the Bible, badness comes naturally. “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.” (Romans 8:7) Goodness does not. But God has a wondrous plan to radically transform our character!

Though our natural inclination is to defy God in sin, He has determined to help us overcome that nature to live a life of righteousness and goodness. This is possible only through a relationship with Him. As the apostle John explained, “He who does good [as a way of life] is of God, but he who does evil [as a way of life] has not seen God [i.e., has not come to really know Him]” (3 John 1:11)

John also explained that those who truly are of God have God living in them through the Holy Spirit: “By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit” (1 John 4:13)

The Paul explained to believers that God’s perfect, loving character is “poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us” (Romans 5:5)

People speak of a life of comfort and affluence as “the good life.” But living a life close to God with all the great benefits He offers is the truly good life! Allow God to cultivate in you the good fruit of goodness. And that will lead to the gift of eternal life! That’s as good as it gets!

You can receive the gift of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ. Below is a link with a very special prayer that will help guide you into Jesus’s loving arms. I personally could not imangine a life without Jesus. He truly has saved my life.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for ALL that You have given me. Thank You for my friends and Family. I am grateful for Your love, Your mercy and the gift of eternal life through Jesus. Thank You for the blessings of life. Teach me to have a thankful heart and to share this gratefulness with others. Continue to guide me and teach me to develop these spiritual fruits in my life that I can be more like You Lord. Help me exhibit Goodness in all that I do. Protect me from the enemy and his evil schemes. I love You and am so greatful that You are in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

August 16th 2025 – Fruit of the Spirit – Part 4 of 9

We are on the 4th day of a 9-day journey to learn about all of the fruit of the Spirit – the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from God.

Patience (Longsuffering) — We are “strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness” (Colossians 1:11)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)

“Patience” in Galatians 5:22-23 literally means “long temper,” in the sense of “the ability to hold one’s temper for a long time.” The NKJV translates it “longsuffering.” A patient person is able to endure much pain and suffering without complaining. A patient person is slow to anger as he waits for God to provide comfort and punish wrongdoing. Since it is a fruit of the Spirit, we can only possess patience through the power and work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

God is patient with sinners. (Romans 2:4) says that God’s patience leads to our repentance. (Romans 9:22) points out that only God’s patience prevents Him from destroying “the objects of his wrath.” Paul glorifies the Lord for His “unlimited patience” that saved him, “the worst of sinners” (1 Timothy 1:16). Peter highlights the patience of God in (1 Peter 3:20), pointing out that God had immense patience with the evil people of Noah’s day, delaying judgment as long as possible

The opposite of patience is agitation, discouragement, and a desire for revenge. God does not want His children to live in agitation but in peace (John 14:27). He wants to dispel discouragement and replace it with hope and praise (Psalm 42:5). We are not to avenge ourselves; rather, we are to love others (Romans 12:19; Leviticus 19:18).

God is patient, and His Spirit produces the fruit of patience in us. When we are patient, we leave room for God to work in our hearts and in our relationships. We lay down our schedule and trust in God’s. We thank the Lord for what and whom He’s brought into our lives. We let God be God.

“With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2).

“Today, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your grace and for being so patient with me. Father, help me to walk with patience and grace and to share Your love and mercy with others. In this world of pain, help me to trust in You even when I may not understand all that is happening around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

August 15th 2025 – Fruit of the Spirit – Part 3 of 9

We are on the 3rd day of a 9-day journey to learn about all of the fruit of the Spirit – the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from God.

What is the Fruit of the Peace?

“If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.” (Romans 12:18)

We are born at war. At birth, our sinful nature has already declared war on God and His truth. Our heart’s desire is to be separated from Him, and if we persist in this desire until death, He will give us what we want.

But God’s methods of warfare are not what we expected. Instead of a battle, He sent us the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus’ goal in coming to earth was more than simply to cease hostilities; He came to bring about a full and abiding relationship of restoration and love. The cost of this peace was His life (Isaiah 53:5).

But, just as we cannot force another to be at peace with us, even Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross did not ensure that we would accept His terms of peace. Romans 3:10-11 explains, “There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God.” None of us can accept Jesus’ offer of peace through our own will and power. Our natural selves do not want it. Only God can lead us to want peace with Him; the Holy Spirit leads us to want Jesus and His message. Once the Spirit draws us, we believe in Jesus, and the peace comes. “Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).

The Spirit-filled Christian has a peace that is abundant, available in every situation, and unlike anything that the world has to offer.

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).

The alternative to being filled with the Spirit and His peace is to be filled with alarm, filled with doubt, filled with foreboding, or filled with dread. How much better to let the Spirit have control and perform His work of growing fruit to the glory of God!

“Do all that you can to live in peace with one another.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the work done on my behalf. Beacuse of Your sacrifice on the cross and my acceptance of You in my heart, I do not have to be anxious about my salvation. I place my faith in the grace of Christ. Please give me rest and an abundance of peace in my life. Help me to continually seek You in my life, because it is in You where I will find true peace. Help me live by Your word and draw on Your love so that I can be at peace with others when they annoy me. I Love You Lord, and I choose Peace. Today open up opportunities to share this truth with the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

August 11th 2025 – Embracing the Holy Spirit

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.” (John 14:16-17)

As we journey through our faith, it’s essential to remember the incredible gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised us that He would send the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter, Helper, and Guide. This promise is not just a historical fact; it is a living reality for every believer today.

The Holy Spirit dwells within us, making His presence known in our thoughts, actions, and decisions. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we experience a profound transformation. This filling goes beyond mere knowledge; it empowers us to live out our faith with boldness and grace.

“Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18)

In Ephesians 5:18, Paul encourages us to be filled with the Spirit. This filling is not a one-time event but an ongoing process. Just as we need to drink water daily to sustain our physical bodies, we must continually seek the filling of the Holy Spirit to nourish our spiritual lives.

Take a moment to sit quietly and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you anew. Reflect on any areas of your life where you need His guidance or empowerment. As you go about your day, be attentive to His leading and promptings, allowing His presence to transform your heart and actions.

Look for opportunities to serve others today, whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or sharing an encouraging scripture. Allow the Holy Spirit to work through you, making an impact in someone else’s life as you reflect His love and grace.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I recognize that I cannot live out my faith on my own; I need Your Spirit to guide and fill me. Help me to desire Your presence in my life and to seek Your filling daily. May the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—be evident in my life. Teach me to be sensitive to Your leading and to walk in obedience to Your Word.

I pray that as I am filled with Your Spirit, I would reflect Christ’s love to those around me and boldly share the hope I have in You. Thank You for not leaving me alone but for providing me with the Holy Spirit to empower me each day. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.” (John 16:13)

In our journey of faith, accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior is the pivotal moment that opens the door to a profound relationship with God. This acceptance is not merely a one-time event but the beginning of a transformative process that involves the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is often referred to as the Advocate, Comforter, Helper and even the Holy Ghost. Upon receiving Christ, we are blessed with the presence of the Holy Spirit—a divine presence that resides within us. This “Ghost Inside” is not just a passive companion; rather, He actively guides, teaches, and empowers us to live out our faith in a world that often feels overwhelming.

Why do we receive the Holy Spirit? The answer lies in the very nature of God’s love and desire for relationship. God wants us to experience His closeness and to be equipped for the mission He has entrusted to us. The Holy Spirit serves several vital roles in our lives:

Guide and Teacher: The Holy Spirit reveals God’s truth to us, helping us understand His Word and apply it to our lives. He illuminates our path, ensuring we do not walk in darkness.
Comforter: In times of trouble and despair, the Holy Spirit provides peace and comfort. He reminds us of God’s promises and helps us bear our burdens.
Empowerment for Service: The Holy Spirit equips us with spiritual gifts, enabling us to serve others and contribute to the body of Christ. He inspires us to share the Gospel and act in love.
Conviction of Sin: The Holy Spirit gently nudges our hearts, guiding us away from sin and towards righteousness. He helps us recognize our need for repentance and fosters spiritual growth.

As you go about your day, take a moment to pause and reflect on the presence of the Holy Spirit within you. How is He guiding you? Are there areas in your life where you need to lean more into His comfort and power? Allow the Holy Spirit to reveal His work in you and through you, reminding you that you are never alone on this journey of faith.

“Where the Holy Spirit dwells, fear cannot abide; for in His presence, we find comfort, guidance, and the courage to live boldly in faith.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us as a constant reminder of Your presence. Help us to listen to His guidance and to be receptive to His leading in our lives. May we embrace the power of the Spirit, allowing Him to transform us into the image of Christ. Teach us to walk in Your ways and to share Your love with others, empowered by the “Ghost Inside.” In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

July 25th 2025 – The Purpose of a Compass?

“..the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” (Acts 5:32)

The purpose of a compass extends beyond merely indicating our location when we feel lost; it serves as a vital guide, directing us along the path we need to take. A compass becomes ineffective if we do not heed its direction.

In the Gospels, Jesus introduces the apostles to the Holy Spirit, promising that He will guide them into all truth. He refers to the Holy Spirit as the “Paraclete,” a term meaning “One who comes alongside us, attaching Himself to us for the purpose of assisting us.” Jesus assures them that if they love Him and keep His commandments, He will ask the Father to send them the Holy Spirit (John 14:15-16).

Many believers overlook this crucial aspect. While the key word for embracing salvation is “Believe,” the essential word for cultivating a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit is “Obey.”

In a beautifully simple hymn, the sentiment is expressed: “But we never can prove the delights of His love until all on the altar we lay. For the favor He shows and the joy He gives are for them who will trust and obey. Trust and obey for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.”

Jesus encapsulates this call in a powerful invitation: “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19) This makes the final point on our compass the most critical of all.

Are you willing to comply with what your compass reveals?

“Make the time to listen to His good direction through the Holy Spirit.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with an open heart, yearning for Your guidance. Open my eyes to see the areas in my life where I need to ask the hard questions and confront the truths that may challenge me. Grant me understanding on how to embody the Truth I profess, and shower me with Your grace when I falter. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that my life reflects Your love and purpose.

Today, I choose to prioritize listening to Your gentle voice within me. I acknowledge that You desire for me to hear You clearly. Help me carve out moments of stillness and quiet in my busy life, so I can attune my heart to Your whispers.

Lord, I open my heart for an honest conversation with You, seeking clarity, peace, and guidance for my journey ahead. I trust in Your plans for me and commit to following where You lead, knowing that Your way is the path to true fulfillment. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
