December 18th 2025 – Transformed by His Word: A Journey of Faith

Scripture Reading:

“Until I come, focus on reading, encouragement, and teaching.” (1 Timothy 4:13)

Reflection:

God’s Word has the power to transform every aspect of our lives. When we dive into the Hebrew Scriptures, we uncover the rich history of our world, the stories of God’s people, and His incredible strength. The Gospels reveal Jesus—His identity and the profound impact of His sacrifice. As we explore Acts and the epistles, we learn about community, church life, and the hope that awaits us. One of the greatest gifts of Scripture is the journey from who we are before knowing Jesus to who we can become through Him.

Reflecting on the Bible gives us an honest look at our humanity. We often find ourselves broken, lost, and in need of redemption. Recognizing our flaws leads us to the Savior, where we discover forgiveness and grace. This grace isn’t just a one-time gift; it’s an ongoing journey. We may be seen as perfect in God’s eyes, but navigating life in a broken world is a challenge. That’s where Scripture becomes our guide, showing us how to live with purpose and the strength to embody Christ-like love. These truths work together, shaping us gradually into the likeness of Jesus. God knew us before we existed, and His steadfast love remains constant. He not only offers us love through forgiveness but also equips us with His Word to navigate life’s complexities.

“Lord, you have searched me and know me… Your knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain!” (Psalm 139:16)

“God desires to amaze you with His intimate understanding of who you are.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude. Thank You for knowing every detail of my life and for loving me unconditionally. You see my struggles and my victories, and yet, You continue to extend Your grace. I am awed by the depth of Your understanding. Help me to embrace Your Word more deeply, that I may find wisdom and guidance in every situation I face.

As I navigate the challenges of life, remind me of Your promises and the hope I have in You. Teach me to reflect Your love in my actions and words, and empower me to be a light to those around me. I long to grow closer to You, to live in a way that honors Your sacrifice, and to share the good news of Your grace with others. Thank You for the gift of salvation and for the journey You’ve set before me. I cherish You and look forward to an abundant life filled with Your presence. In Your precious and glorious name, Amen.

Discover the Path to Transformation:

If you’ve felt the pull of God’s Word and are ready to embrace the love and grace that Jesus offers, you’re not alone. Many have found hope, healing, and a renewed purpose through a relationship with Him. Just as the Scriptures guide us to understand our true selves, they also lead us to the Savior who can transform our lives.

November 13th 2025 – Stone by Stone

Scripture Reading:

“Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests and built the Sheep Gate; they consecrated it and hung its doors. They built as far as the Tower of the Hundred, and consecrated it, then as far as the Tower of Hananel” (Nehemiah 3:1).

Reflection:

In the book of Nehemiah, we witness the incredible unity of the people of Israel as they come together to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Each stone laid is a testament to their dedication and resolve, a physical barrier against the chaos that surrounds them. This process of rebuilding—stone by stone—mirrors our own journeys in faith. Just as they worked tirelessly to protect their city, we too must take intentional steps to guard our hearts and minds.

In our lives, we face a multitude of influences that can either fortify our spirits or threaten to tear us down. Every image we see and every word we hear shapes us in ways we may not fully understand. As parents, we hold a sacred responsibility to guard the gates of our children’s hearts. With each passing year, we must guide them toward wisdom, encouraging them to make choices that reflect God’s love and truth while gently steering them away from paths that lead to harm.

Even in today’s world, the safety of nations often hinges on the might of technology and weaponry. But let us not forget that true strength lies not in worldly power, but in the wisdom that comes from God. He offers us the tools we need to confront modern challenges with ancient truths. The battles we fight often begin in our minds, and it is essential to arm ourselves with divine wisdom.

As Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, “We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.” Our spiritual warfare is fought not with physical might, but through prayer, discernment, and the application of God’s Word. We must tear down the barriers that keep us from knowing Him fully and capture every thought that seeks to lead us astray.

To guard our hearts and minds effectively, we must fill them with the things of God. Immersing ourselves in Scripture and meditating on His truths will create a protective barrier against evil. Regular prayer for ourselves and our loved ones will illuminate our path and strengthen our resolve. We should also be discerning about the media we consume—music, television, movies, games, and books—all of these can either draw us closer to Christ or lead us away. This isn’t about being legalistic; it’s about building strong walls of protection that glorify God.

“As people created in the image of God, we can and should take control of what we read, listen to, think, and say.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the guidance found in Your Word. Just as the builders of Jerusalem laid stone by stone, help me to build strong walls around my heart and mind. Provide me with the stones of wisdom and power to guard my gates against the distractions of this world. Fill me with Your Spirit and empower me to teach others about Your goodness, guiding them away from the paths of hate and destruction toward the embrace of love and forgiveness. May we all experience the transformative power of Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

November 11th 2025 – Walking in His Word

Scripture Reading:

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11)

Reflection:

In our journey of faith, there are moments when we find ourselves at a crossroads, uncertain of the path ahead. This is where the importance of Bible study comes into play. Engaging with Scripture not only helps us discern right from wrong but also illuminates God’s purpose for our lives. Like Pilate, who recognized the truth yet chose to ignore it, we too may find ourselves in situations where we know the right choice but hesitate to act.

This struggle highlights the necessity of applying what we learn from the Bible. It’s a call to be doers, not merely hearers. The church has often faced criticism for professing beliefs without corresponding actions. Let us strive to ensure our study of the Word translates into meaningful action in our lives. As we delve into Scripture, may we be inspired to step out in faith, fulfilling all that God has called us to do. Remember, the Lord who calls us is faithful and provides us with the strength and wisdom to put His Word into practice.

“Our beliefs should lead us to action. What we say we believe should impact the way we live. Bible study should lead to Bible action.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart yearning to know You more deeply. You have created me to walk in Your ways and to embody Your teachings. Help me to absorb Your Word and integrate it into my daily life. Guard my heart against temptation and guide my steps away from sin. As I study Your Scriptures, may my understanding grow, and may it compel me to act in accordance with Your will. Search my heart, O Lord, and reveal any areas where I may be straying from Your path. Test my thoughts and show me if there is any offensive way in me. Lead me in the way everlasting, that I may reflect Your love and truth to those around me. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Happy Veterans Day to all the men and women who served!

September 8th 2025 – Beware of False Teachers

“As I urged you when I went into Macedonia – remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine, nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.” (1 Timothy 1:3-4)

In the body of Christ, we must be vigilant in guarding ourselves against division and false teaching. These insidious elements can infiltrate the community of believers, leading not only to sin but also to a profound misunderstanding of God’s Word. Often, those who come forth with a “new way” or a “higher understanding” are, unfortunately, deceived. Their teachings hinge on human wisdom or even worse, evil motives. This is why the apostles repeatedly caution us against false teachers and erroneous doctrines throughout Scripture.

Many times, misguided teachings stem from individuals who wish to forge their own paths. They find themselves unsatisfied with God’s Word as the ultimate authority, opting instead to twist it or reject it altogether. We must not be lured into complacency by these dangerous ideas. To truly understand life, we need to seek guidance from the One who gave it. If we long to comprehend this world, we must cling tightly to the words of the Creator who formed it. Most importantly, if we wish to discover the way to forgiveness and eternal life, we have no choice but to embrace the Truth found in the Bible. Living by God’s Word, rather than our own understanding, brings us hope for this life and unending joy in the next.

“There is danger in living our lives by our own standards rather than God’s.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. It is a treasure to be able to read and reflect on the very words You have given us. I ask that You guard my heart against the snare of false teachings and help me to remain steadfast in the Truth of Your Gospel. Grant me discernment to recognize teachings that stray from Your Word, and empower me to share Your message with confidence and clarity.

Lord, as I navigate through life’s complexities, help me to seek Your guidance above all else. May Your Spirit illuminate my path and lead me to a deeper understanding of Your will. I pray that I would be anchored in Your Truth, so I may stand firm against the winds of deception that seek to sway me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

July 21st 2025 – Tapestry of Truth

“Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,” (Ezra 1:1)

Throughout the Bible, we encounter incredible precision in historical accounts. Even more astonishing is the prophetic nature of many of these events, revealed long before they came to pass. In the passage above, we see how God moved the heart of King Cyrus to aid His people, Israel. This is not just a noteworthy fact; it illustrates the divine blueprint God had in place long before Cyrus ascended to the throne.

As noted in Isaiah 44:28, “Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd, And he shall perform all My pleasure,’ Saying to Jerusalem, ‘You shall be built, And the temple, ‘Your foundation shall be laid.’” Here, God spoke of Cyrus centuries in advance, affirming His sovereignty and the unfolding of His plan.

The accuracy of God’s Word is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Despite attempts by some to undermine the Bible, it stands firm as 100% reliable in both its historical narratives and prophetic revelations. We can place our trust entirely in it. There is no other book quite like the Bible, and there never will be.

Why does this matter? Because if the Bible is indeed flawless and it proclaims our identity as cherished children of God, then we have a steadfast anchor to hold onto, regardless of life’s challenges and uncertainties.

“God’s Word is a timeless promise, weaving history and prophecy into a tapestry of love, reminding us that we are cherished and guided by His eternal plan.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Your Word is truly remarkable and a constant source of inspiration. Thank You for revealing Your great love and the gift of salvation we find through Jesus Christ. Your promises, woven throughout the Scriptures, remind us of Your faithfulness and the divine plan You have for each of us. Help me to hold tightly to these important truths, allowing them to guide my life and strengthen my faith. Empower me to share Your love and the hope found in Your Word with those around me. May Your teachings illuminate my path as I seek to grow closer to You each day. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

April 21st 2025 – Battlefield of the Mind

“We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

The battle we face as Christians is very real, and it is often extremely difficult. We see in the Scripture that spiritual battles are most often fought in our own minds. In the verses above, notice the words used to describe the battle. He uses words like “argument,” “knowledge,” and “thought,” This is why studying the Bible is so important. The more we know God’s Word, the more we are equipped to respond correctly. We can often see this really well in those moments we are corrected.

The moment we are corrected over something, our mind instantly leaps to our defense. Rather than honestly considering the circumstances being presented, we usually respond by either explaining why it’s not our fault, making an excuse for why it’s okay, or we simply point out what is wrong with the person correcting us. This is the same tactic Adam and Eve used in the garden, and it is something we need to guard our minds against. Instead of responding in the flesh, we can take a moment to pray and respond rightly.

Law enforcement and military personnel take time to train for various situations they may encounter in the field. So schedule time to get into God’s Word so that you can better prepare for how to handle spiritual battles that take place in our minds.

“Fill your mind with God’s Word, and you will have no room for Satan’s lies.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me Your Word so that I am better able to know how to live. Fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I can respond in love at all times. Guard my mind against the powers of the enemy, and help me to think on godly things. I want to know You more and love You more. Please help me commit my heart to seek You and grow in my understanding of who You are and how much You love me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 31st 2025 – The Gift of God’s Word

“What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God.” (Romans 3:1-2)

A.W. Tozer once said, “If God gave you a watch, would you honor Him more by asking Him what time it is or by simply consulting the watch?” In the same way, God has given us the ultimate instruction manual—His Word. It’s our duty to not only read it but to live by it. Let’s remember that in some parts of the world, simply owning a Bible can lead to persecution or even death. Countless Christians have faced martyrdom for the very faith and truths that many of us take for granted.

You have been blessed with a Bible and the freedom to explore its teachings. How are you treating this precious gift? Is it collecting dust on a shelf, serving as a mere decoration, or is it a vital part of your daily life? The Bible is more than just a book; it holds the power to guide you through life’s challenges. It can strengthen your marriage, nurture your children, and even transform your life—if you take the time to read, study, and apply its teachings. Remember, it is the very Word of God.

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’” (John 8:31-32)

I encourage you to immerse yourself in the Scriptures. Ensure that you and your family are part of a Bible-teaching church. Cultivate the habit of daily prayer and Bible reading. Lead your family in devotion and prayer. By being diligent in these practices, you’ll witness incredible changes, miracles, and blessings in your life and in the lives of your loved ones.

“There is both a blessing and a responsibility in having a Bible.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. I ask for Your forgiveness if I have neglected to read and study it. Ignite a hunger in my heart for Your Scriptures. Open my mind to receive Your wisdom and empower me to act upon it. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
