October 30th 2026 – Don’t Return to What God Rescued You From

Scripture Reference:

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” (Isaiah 43:18–19)

Reflection:

Somtimes there are seasons when it feels like everything has fallen apart. You may have lost your confidence, your peace, your direction—or even the person you thought you would always be. But God knows how to meet you in the lowest place and lead you into a new beginning.

When He gives you the greatest comeback of your life, remember, the rescue is not an invitation to return to what nearly broke you. It is a reminder that God has brought you out for a reason.

The old place may look familiar. It may call to you through old habits, old relationships, or old ways of thinking. But familiar does not always mean safe, and longing for what you know does not mean it is where you belong. God’s mercy can restore you, but wisdom helps you protect what He has restored.

You do not have to prove your strength by revisiting the thing that wounded you. You honor God’s work in your life by walking forward—one faithful choice at a time. When you feel tempted to turn back, remember how far He has carried you, and ask Him for the courage to keep going.

Application:

Today, name one thing God has helped you leave behind. Take one practical step to protect your progress, and ask Him for strength to keep moving forward.

“God didn’t bring you this far just to send you back. Honor your comeback by leaving behind what He rescued you from and walking boldly into what He has prepared for you.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for finding me in the places where I felt lost and for giving me strength when I had none left. Thank You for bringing me through what once seemed impossible and reminding me that my past does not define my future.

Please help me recognize the people, habits, and patterns You have called me to leave behind. When I feel tempted to return to what You rescued me from, remind me of Your faithfulness and give me courage to keep moving forward. Protect my heart, renew my mind, and guide my choices each day.

Help me trust the new path You are opening, even when I cannot see the whole way ahead. Teach me to value the peace, growth, and freedom You are building in me. May my life reflect Your grace, and may I use this new beginning to draw closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

When Life Has Got You Feeling Broken, What Is Holding You Back From Trusting Jesus?

Are fear, uncertainty, or discouragement keeping you from fully trusting Jesus? When your heart feels weary and the road ahead seems unclear, you may wonder what to do next. Jesus lovingly invites you to place your worries, burdens, and future into His hands.

In Jesus, you will find:

  • Peace instead of fear: He remains near through every uncertain moment.
  • Strength in weakness: His grace sustains you when you feel tired and overwhelmed.
  • Hope beyond circumstances: Your struggles do not define your worth or separate you from God’s love.
  • Courage to keep going: Jesus gives you grace for today and hope for tomorrow.
  • A deeper faith: Difficult seasons can draw you closer to God and teach you to depend on Him more completely.

If life has caused you to question God, today is an opportunity to draw nearer to Jesus. Bring Him your fears, surrender your burdens, and trust Him to guide you one step at a time.
