September 19th 2025 – Spirit World: A Call for Discernment

“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them” (Ephesians 5:11)

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)

In the lead-up to Halloween, we are inundated with imagery and symbols that celebrate fear and the supernatural. From spooky decorations to horror films, our culture often glorifies what is dark and demonic. This can desensitize us, especially our children, to the reality of evil spirits and the destructive nature of sin.

As Christians, we must remember that behind these idols and myths lies a spiritual battle. The Bible warns us to be vigilant and discerning. Many in our society have become apathetic toward the spiritual implications of engaging with such themes. This is a call for us to reflect on the consequences of these choices—not just for ourselves but for future generations.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12)

Children are especially impressionable, and the allure of costumes and scary stories can lead them away from the light of Christ. As parents and guardians, it is our responsibility to guide them, emphasizing the importance of a relationship with Jesus, who offers protection and salvation.

Satan and his schemes thrive in a culture that dismisses the seriousness of evil. We must teach our children to recognize the truth of Scripture and the power of Jesus over any dark force. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and we should instill a healthy respect for the spiritual realm, encouraging our families to seek refuge in Christ.

Biblical Application:

Biblical Application: Living in the Light

Call to Action:

Consider finding or organizing a family or community event that focuses on the light of Christ during this Halloween season. Engage in activities that promote faith, such as a harvest festival, a church gathering, or a night of worship, steering clear of the themes that celebrate darkness.

“True strength lies not in the absence of fear, but in the courage to stand firm in faith, embracing the light even when shadows loom.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, as we gather to reflect on the influence of the spirit world around us, we seek Your wisdom and discernment. Help us to recognize the dangers that lurk in the shadows of our culture, especially as Halloween approaches. May we be vigilant and protect our families from the allure of darkness.Guide us in teaching our children the importance of a relationship with Jesus, who offers protection and salvation. Give us courage to speak out against the normalization of evil and to share the light of Your love with those around us. May we draw closer to You and be guided by Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

September 6th 2025 – I Trust You Jesus

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

In a world filled with uncertainty and chaos, the invitation to trust in Jesus stands as a beacon of hope. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us to trust in Jesus with all our heart and not to depend on our understanding ot the situation. These words resonate deeply, encouraging us to release the burdens we often carry and to lean into His wisdom rather than our limited perspectives.

Trusting Jesus means surrendering our need for control and allowing Him to guide our steps ahead. It’s easy to look back, to dwell on past mistakes or missed opportunities, but Jesus calls us to look forward with faith. John 14:1 reassures us, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” In moments of doubt or fear, we can find peace in His presence, knowing that He holds our future.

Faith is not merely an intellectual agreement; it’s a profound relationship built on trust. As Galatians 2:16 states, “Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ.” This faith liberates us from the weight of the law and invites us into a life defined by grace. When we put our trust in Him, we are made right with God, not by our own efforts, but through His unending love.

Consider the areas of your life where you may be struggling to trust Jesus completely. What fears or doubts are holding you back? Take a moment to pray, inviting God to strengthen your faith and to help you release those burdens.

As you go about your day, remember that trusting Jesus is a daily choice. Each step forward is an opportunity to embrace His guidance and to leave behind what weighs you down. In Him, you can find strength, hope, and a future filled with promise. Trust in the Lord, for He is faithful!

“Trusting in Jesus means embracing the unknown with faith, knowing that every step I take is guided by His unwavering love.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, As I come before You today, I want to thank You for Your unwavering presence in my life. I acknowledge that trusting You fully can be a challenge, especially when the path ahead seems unclear. Yet, I am reminded of Your promises and the assurance that You have a plan for me. Help me to let go of my fears and anxieties, and to place my trust in You completely.

Lord, I pray for the strength to surrender my understanding and to lean solely on Your wisdom. Teach me to seek Your will in every aspect of my life—my relationships, my work, and my dreams. May I find comfort in knowing that You are guiding my steps, even when I cannot see the way forward.

I ask for Your peace to fill my heart, especially during times of uncertainty. Remind me that I do not have to carry my burdens alone; I can lay them at Your feet. Help me to trust that You are always working for my good, even when circumstances seem overwhelming.

As I navigate the challenges of life, may I be a reflection of Your love and grace to those around me. Equip me to encourage others to trust in You, just as I am learning to do. Let my faith be a testament to Your goodness and faithfulness.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of faith in Jesus Christ, through whom I am made right with You. Help me to remember that my worth is not defined by my achievements or failures, but by Your unconditional love.

In moments of doubt, remind me of Your promise, that I should not let my heart be troubled. Instead, let me find peace in trusting You and in Your perfect plan for my life.

I place my trust in You today and every day, knowing that You are with me every step of the way. Thank You for loving me, guiding me, and for the hope I have in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

September 2nd 2025 – The Gift of Obedience

“When the LORD first spoke to Hosea, He said to him, ‘Go, take for yourself an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness, because the land is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the LORD.’” (Hosea 1:2)

In our modern world, it’s common to hear Christians express sentiments like, “The Lord just wants me to be happy” or “God wouldn’t ask me to do anything beyond my strength.” Yet, when we delve deeper into Scripture, we see a different narrative. God often calls His people to undertake journeys that seem impossible, filled with challenges and sacrifices.

Take Hosea, for instance. He was commanded by God to marry a woman who would break his heart, a powerful symbol of God’s relationship with His unfaithful people. Consider Abraham, who faced the unfathomable task of sacrificing his beloved son, Isaac—his laughter, his joy, the embodiment of God’s promise. Then there’s Mary, honored as the most blessed among women, who stood at the foot of the cross, witnessing the agony of her Son. Each of these figures faced unique trials but shared a profound commitment to obedience, even in the face of deep suffering.

In Matthew 16:24-25, Jesus invites us to embrace a radical path: “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” This call is not merely an invitation to happiness; it’s a call to transformation, a challenge to our very nature.

Jesus endured unimaginable suffering to liberate us from the chains of sin. His sacrifice was not for our fleeting happiness or to fulfill our selfish desires; it was to set us free and to provide a blueprint for living in that freedom. He exemplified how to love selflessly and to put others before ourselves, teaching us that true fulfillment lies in service and sacrifice.

Choosing to follow Christ is not always easy. It requires us to step beyond our comfort zones and embrace the messy, often painful reality of love and obedience. Yet, in doing so, we honor the incredible price He paid for our lives. Our obedience, then, becomes our gift back to Him—a testament to our faith and love.

“Obedience is not the absence of struggle, but the courage to embrace the journey, trusting that each step is a reflection of love and a gift back to the One who sacrificed everything for us.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the incredible love You have poured out on me, a love so profound that You endured a brutal death and the weight of my sins. Your sacrifice is a reminder of the depth of Your grace and mercy. As I reflect on Your journey, I choose to follow You, no matter where You lead me, because my heart is drawn to You in love.

Help me, Lord, to walk in obedience, even when the path is challenging and the sacrifices feel heavy. Grant me Your strength, fill me with Your power, and envelop me in Your love, so that I may willingly lay down my life for others. May my actions reflect the heart of Christ, bringing hope and light to those around me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

August 9th 2025 – Standing Strong Against Weariness

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)

In our walk of faith, we often encounter challenges that test our endurance and resolve. The enemy, recognizing that he cannot take our lives, will instead aim to wear us down, hoping to sap our strength and dilute our joy. This tactic is subtle yet powerful; it can manifest as fatigue, discouragement, or a feeling of being overwhelmed by life’s demands.

Consider the story of Job. His faith was tested through immense suffering, yet he remained steadfast. The devil sought to wear him down, but Job’s unwavering trust in God led to his restoration. Like Job, we must remember that our struggles are not without purpose. They can refine us, deepen our faith, and draw us closer to God.

When we feel weary, it’s crucial to turn to Scripture for renewal. Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28-30 to come to Him when we are burdened: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Finding rest in Christ is not merely about physical relaxation; it’s about spiritual rejuvenation.

Take a moment to reflect on the areas in your life where you feel worn down. What steps can you take to seek rest and renewal in Christ? Consider journaling your thoughts and prayers as a way to process and invite God into those spaces of weariness.

Remember, the enemy may seek to wear you out, but your strength is renewed in the presence of the Lord. Keep pressing forward; you are not alone in this battle.

“Though the enemy may try to wear you down, let your faith be the armor that renews your spirit and keeps your heart steadfast in God’s promise.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the assurance that You are with me in my struggles. When I feel worn out, remind me of Your strength and grace. Help me to lean on You, find my rest in You, and trust in Your plans for my life. I pray for renewed energy and focus to continue fighting the good fight of faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

August 5th 2025 – Confidence in Christ

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)

In our journey through life, we often face challenges that may shake our confidence. Doubts and fears can creep in, making us question our abilities and worth. However, as Christians, we are reminded that our confidence does not rest on our own strength or understanding, but on our relationship with Jesus Christ.

When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we gain more than just salvation; we receive the assurance that we are never alone. The Creator of the universe walks beside us, empowering us to face life’s obstacles. Philippians 4:13 reassures us that through Christ, we have the strength to overcome any challenge. This verse is a powerful reminder that we can approach life’s uncertainties with boldness because we are anchored in Him.

Take a moment to reflect on areas in your life where you struggle with confidence. Write them down and pray for strength and assurance. Meditate on the truth that with Jesus, you are capable of all things. Let this devotion inspire you to step out in faith, knowing that your confidence is rooted in Him.

This week, identify one challenge that has been holding you back. Take a step towards overcoming it, whether by seeking help, taking a leap of faith, or simply trusting in God’s guidance. Remember, you are equipped through Christ to face whatever comes your way!

“With Jesus as my foundation, my confidence is unshakeable; every challenge becomes an opportunity to rise in His strength.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unwavering presence in my life. Help me to remember that my confidence comes from You. When I feel weak or inadequate, remind me of the strength I have through Christ. May I walk boldly knowing that You are with me every step of the way. Help me to trust in Your plans and purpose for my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

July 29th 2025 – Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14)

In moments of deep introspection, we sometimes find ourselves questioning our existence and the circumstances we face. “Is something wrong with me?” we might wonder, as we grapple with feelings of inadequacy or sadness. We may even ask why we were born this way or why certain things happened to us. These questions are not just fleeting thoughts; they can echo in our hearts, leaving us feeling isolated and confused.

Yet, amidst these struggles, let us turn our gaze toward the beautiful truth found in Psalm 139. The psalmist reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Every part of our being, from our physical attributes to our unique personalities and life experiences, has been crafted by the hands of our Creator. God does not make mistakes. In His eyes, we are perfect just the way we are.

When we face challenges or feel different from those around us, it’s easy to let doubt creep in. We may feel that our struggles define us or that we are somehow less worthy of love and acceptance. However, God sees our hearts, our potential, and the beauty within us. He knows the paths we walk and the burdens we carry, and He is with us every step of the way.

Take a moment to reflect on the unique gifts and qualities that make you who you are. Write them down or speak them aloud as an affirmation of your identity in Christ. Remember, you are a masterpiece, created with love and intention. Embrace your journey, knowing that God is with you, guiding you through every uncertainty.

“Even in our struggles and questions, remember: you are fearfully and wonderfully made, a unique masterpiece crafted by the hands of a loving Creator.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me in Your image and for loving me just as I am. Help me to remember that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, even when I struggle to see my worth. When doubts arise and I question my purpose, remind me of Your unwavering love and the plans You have for my life. Fill me with Your peace and assurance, that I may embrace who I am and trust in Your divine purpose. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

July 15th 2025 – The Clock Is Ticking

“And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east.” (Zechariah 14:4)

“When you see all these things, know that it is near — at the doors!” (Matthew 24:33)

The Mount of Olives — Olivet — has long been a place of divine appointment. From where Jesus spoke of the end times, where He wept, prayed, ascended, and will one day return. This sacred ridge East of Jerusalem serves not just as a location, but as a timeline marker in God’s unfolding plan.

We are not called to guess dates. But we are called to know the season (1 Thessalonians 5:1-6). Jesus Himself gave us a prophetic roadmap in the Olivet Discourse — a chronological outline of events leading up to His return. Let’s consider a possible progression, based on Scripture and what we now witness globally.

A Possible Biblical Timeline of Christ’s Return

  1. Birth Pains Intensify (Matthew 24:6-8)

Wars and rumors of wars

Nation rising against nation

Famines, earthquakes, and plagues

✓ Present globally now: Ukraine, Israel-Gaza, locusts in Africa, worldwide quakes, food shortages, pandemics.

  1. Persecution of Believers (Matthew 24:9-14)

Increasing hostility toward Christians

Apostasy and betrayal

Gospel reaching all nations

✓ Ongoing now: Christian persecution is rising; the Gospel is spreading via internet and underground churches.

  1. Abomination of Desolation (Matthew 24:15)

A coming desecration of a future temple

Linked to Daniel 9 and the rise of a global leader (Antichrist)

✓ Third Temple preparations are already underway in Jerusalem.

  1. The Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21)

A time of global upheaval like never before

✓ The groundwork is being laid — digital currencies, surveillance, global governance talks (Rev. 13)

  1. Heavenly Signs and the Return (Matthew 24:29-31)

Cosmic disturbances

Christ returns “in the clouds”

All eyes will see Him

✓ This hasn’t happened yet — but every other part of the Olivet Discourse is unfolding rapidly.

The Mount of Olives: The Anchor of the Timeline

Jesus started and will finish His earthly mission on Olivet. He taught from it, ascended from it, and will return to it. Zechariah 14:4 makes this clear: “On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives.”

This is not poetic—it’s prophetic, literal, and scheduled. And that “day” is closer now than ever.

  1. If Jesus returned this year, would I be ready?
  2. Am I living like a watchman (Ezekiel 33), warning others with love and urgency?
  3. How can I anchor my heart in hope, not fear, as the signs intensify?

“You are not watching a world falling apart — you’re watching prophecy falling into place.
Jesus is coming back — and Olivet will see His feet once again.”

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You told us to watch and be ready. Help us to see the signs, discern the times, and anchor our hope in You. May we live boldly, love deeply, and share truth while it is still day. Let our lamps be full and our hearts burning with expectation. In Your heavenly name, Amen.

July 11th 2025 – The Remnant

“Though none go with me, still I will follow.” (Luke 9:23-24)

“Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” (Romans 11:5)

“They will have a form of godliness but deny its power…” (2 Timothy 3:5)

In today’s world, we face an overwhelming tide of challenges to our faith. The rise of apostasy, deception, and a lukewarm approach to spirituality can easily lead many to falter. Yet, amidst this spiritual decline, God is calling forth a remnant—those who are willing to stand firm, speak truth, and walk in holiness.

1. The Call to Discipleship (Luke 9:23-24)

Jesus invites us to a radical life of discipleship. He asks us to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow Him. This call is not contingent on the actions of others; it is a personal commitment to live for Christ regardless of the choices made by those around us. In a culture that often prioritizes convenience and comfort, the true follower of Christ must be prepared to stand alone if necessary. The heart of this call is encapsulated in the paraphrase, “Though none go with me, still I will follow.” Are we willing to step out in faith, even when it feels like we are standing alone?

2. The Assurance of God’s Grace (Romans 11:5)

Even in times of great apostasy, God preserves a remnant according to His grace. This is a reassuring truth for believers. We are reminded that we are not alone in our struggles to maintain our faith and integrity amid a world of compromise. God’s grace enables us to stand firm. We can take comfort in knowing that His strength will sustain us as we navigate the challenges before us. This remnant is not defined by numbers but by a heart committedto God’s truth and righteousness.

3. The Warning Against Deception (2 Timothy 3:5)

Paul warns us that many will have a form of godliness but will deny its power. This is a stark reminder to examine our faith. Are we merely going through the motions of religion, or are we genuinely experiencing the transformative power of Christ in our lives? As a remnant, we are called to live authentically, embracing the life-changing truth of the gospel. We must be vigilant and discerning, recognizing that appearances can be deceiving. We are called not just to believe in God, but to live in the fullness of His power.

As you go about your day, take a moment to reflect on your own faith journey. Are there areas where you feel tempted to compromise? How can you actively choose to stand firm in your faith? Remember, you are not alone; God is with you, empowering you to be part of His remnant.

“Stand firm in faith, for even in a world of compromise, the remnant shines brightest through the truth of God’s grace.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, in a world that often strays from Your truth, I thank You for calling me to be part of Your faithful remnant. Help me to stand firm in my faith, to speak truth even when it is unpopular, and to walk in holiness, reflecting Your love and grace. Give me the courage to follow You, even if I must do it alone. May my life be a testimony of Your power and truth. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

July 1st 2025 – Temporary Fix

“From childhood we have watched as everything our ancestors worked for–their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters–was squandered on a delusion.” (Jeremiah 3:24)

Sin is not your friend. While it may seem enticing in the moment, bringing with it fleeting excitement, don’t be deceived into believing it is on your side. In the book of Jeremiah, God speaks to His people about their wrongful actions. Amidst His convicting words, He also reveals a promise of redemption—a time will come when they will turn back to Him. In that moment of turning, they will recognize the truth of their sinfulness and the heavy cost it carries. This realization is a crucial part of repentance; we begin to see our sin for what it truly is and understand our responsibility in the matter.

Our God is a God of hope and second chances. He yearns to transform our sin-stained lives into radiant gems of grace. Unlike the city in which I live, perpetually patching its roads with temporary fixes that never hold, our God is not interested in mere band-aids for our flawed nature. He offers us the gift of a brand new life. This transformation begins when we turn from the empty pursuits of sin and turn towards the mighty God who longs to save us. Have you made that turn? He is waiting for you with open arms. “He loves you.”

“God always provides a way of escape from our sin.”

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, I come before You acknowledging my need for Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for me, taking upon Yourself my sins so that I could be redeemed. I also believe that You rose from the dead, conquering sin and death, so that I could have new life in You. I recognize that I have strayed from Your path, and I am truly sorry for the wrongs I have committed. Please forgive me for my sins and cleanse my heart. Grant me the strength and resolve to follow You faithfully all the days of my life. Help me to turn away from the empty pursuits that lead me astray and to embrace the abundant life You offer. May my life reflect Your love and grace to those around me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

June 17th 2025 – Wars and Rumors of War

“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” (Matthew 24:6-7)

In our world today, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the news of conflicts, violence, and political unrest. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24 that wars and rumors of wars would be part of the human experience. But He also provided us with a profound assurance: we should not be alarmed. These events, while distressing, are part of God’s sovereign plan and do not take Him by surprise.

As followers of Christ, we are called to respond with faith rather than fear. When we hear of conflict, it’s a reminder of our broken world and the need for God’s peace. We are encouraged to pray for those affected by violence and to seek ways to be instruments of peace and reconciliation in our communities.

Take a moment to reflect on how you can be a source of peace in your surroundings. Consider reaching out to someone who may be struggling with fear or anxiety about current events. Share a word of encouragement or pray together.

This week, dedicate time to pray for specific areas of conflict around the world. Let your heart be moved by the plight of others, and act in ways that reflect Christ’s love.

“In the midst of turmoil and strife, remain unshaken; for every conflict is a chapter in a greater story yet to unfold.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, We come before You in humble reverence, recognizing the turmoil and strife that plague our world. Our hearts are heavy for those caught in the crossfire of wars and conflicts—men, women, and children who endure unimaginable suffering and loss. Lord, we lift up every person affected by violence. May Your comforting presence surround them, bringing solace amid chaos. We pray for protection over innocent lives and for the provision of essential needs—food, shelter, and safety. Let those who are displaced find refuge and support, and may they experience Your love through the hands of those who serve them.

We also intercede for the leaders of nations, asking that You grant them wisdom and discernment. May they seek paths of peace rather than conflict, and may their hearts be softened to pursue justice and reconciliation. We pray that You raise up peacemakers who will advocate for the vulnerable and work tirelessly to heal divisions.

Lord, we know that in times of desperation, many are drawn to seek answers. We pray for those who do not yet know You, that their hearts may be opened to the truth of Your love and grace. May they seek You wholeheartedly, recognizing that true peace and hope can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Let Your Holy Spirit stir within them, prompting questions that lead to a quest for understanding and faith.

As we navigate the challenges of our world, help us to be beacons of Your light. Empower us to share the Good News of Jesus with those around us, demonstrating Your love through our actions and words. May our lives reflect the peace that surpasses all understanding, inviting others to experience the joy of knowing You.

We trust in Your sovereignty, Lord, and we lean on Your promises. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
