October 23rd 2025 – The Shepherd’s Embrace

Scripture Reading:

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” – Isaiah 40:11

Reflection:

In this tumultuous time we live in, filled with uncertainty and chaos, the imagery of God as a loving shepherd is more relevant than ever. This picture not only illustrates His desire for intimacy with us but also offers comfort and reassurance in our daily lives.

Take a moment to pause amidst the noise around you. Close your eyes and visualize the shepherd, a figure of strength and tenderness, gently lifting each lamb into His arms. Imagine His face, filled with love and compassion, as He looks down into your eyes. This is not merely a metaphor; it is an invitation to experience a profound connection with the Divine.

As we navigate the challenges of modern life—stress from work, the weight of responsibilities, and the societal pressures we face—remember that there is a refuge available to us. In the shepherd’s embrace, we find not only safety but also a deep sense of belonging. The lambs trust their shepherd completely; they know they are cherished and protected.

God wants us to understand that He longs to carry us, to support us through our struggles, and to offer us His peace. Are you feeling weary, lost, or alone? Allow yourself to be that little lamb needing His nurturing embrace. When you accept His invitation, you will discover a sanctuary unlike any other, a place where your heart can find rest.

Contemplation:

In the stillness of this moment, allow yourself to envision the Shepherd holding you close. Picture the warmth of His embrace, the gentle rhythm of His heartbeat, and the unwavering love in His gaze.

Reflect on the areas of your life where you feel lost or burdened. Imagine placing those worries into His strong hands, trusting that He will carry you through.

As you breathe deeply, let the weight of your concerns lift, replaced by the peace that comes from knowing you are cherished and protected. Allow this intimate connection with your Shepherd to fill your heart with hope and assurance.

In silence, listen for His voice, reminding you that you are never alone and that His love is a constant source of strength. Let this moment of contemplation deepen your relationship with God, guiding you to a place of rest and security in His care.

“Amidst life’s storms, let me rest in the embrace of my Shepherd, where love and safety cradle my weary heart.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with an open heart, longing to be gathered into Your big, strong arms. In a world that often feels overwhelming, I seek the comfort and safety found only in Your embrace. Help me to silence the distractions around me and to focus on the sound of Your heartbeat, a rhythm that brings peace to my weary soul.

Thank You for inviting me into a relationship where I can feel secure and loved. Remind me that I am never alone, for You are always by my side, guiding me gently through life’s valleys. As I encounter difficulties, let me remember to lean into You, trusting in Your unfailing love and protection.

May I always be aware of the special place You have reserved for me in Your heart. Thank You for being my Great Shepherd, for knowing me by name, and for carrying me close to Your heart. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

October 22nd 2025 – Devine Attention

Scripture Reading:

“Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town. There was a man there named Zacchaeus. He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich. He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd.” (Luke 19:1-2)

Reflection:

In society, where success is often measured by wealth, status, and popularity, Zacchaeus might be seen as a failure. He was short in stature, despised for his role as a tax collector, and filled with self-loathing for the way he had lived his life. Despite his riches and position, he was isolated and lonely.

However, everything changed for Zacchaeus when Jesus came to town. He desperately wanted to see Jesus but found himself blocked by the crowd. So, he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to catch a glimpse.

“When Jesus came by, He looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. ‘Zacchaeus!’ he said. ‘Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.’” (Luke 19:5)

Imagine the shock and joy Zacchaeus felt at that moment. Here was Jesus, the one everyone was talking about, stopping and looking directly at him, recognizing him amidst the crowd. It was a moment of profound connection and affirmation.

Just as Jesus noticed Zacchaeus, He notices you. No matter where you find yourself in life—feeling stuck, alone, or overlooked—God knows your location, your struggles, and your heart. You might feel like you’re perched in a tree, trying to see the world around you, but remember, you are never out of God’s sight.

God sees your pain, your efforts, and the tears you’ve shed. In every moment, He is aware of your struggles and joys.

“What is the price of five sparrows, two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” – Luke 12:6-7

Application:

The greatest gift we can offer one another is our attention. When we take the time to truly listen and engage with someone, we communicate their worth. Reach out to those you care about. Make a call, send a text, or visit someone who might be feeling alone. Remind them they matter.

“Even in a crowd, I am seen and valued; God knows my name and calls me to a deeper connection.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for always noticing me, even when I feel insignificant or alone. In moments of doubt and loneliness, remind me of Your unwavering love and presence in my life. I come to You today with an open heart, longing for Your guidance and strength. Help me to recognize the value You place on me, even when the world tells me otherwise.

Lord, I ask for Your grace to fill my heart, allowing me to let go of any feelings of unworthiness or shame. May I find comfort in knowing that I am seen and cherished by You. Teach me to extend that same love and attention to those around me, especially to those who may feel overlooked or forgotten.

I pray for opportunities to connect with my loved ones, to reach out to those who may be struggling, and to make amends where needed. Let my words and actions reflect Your love and compassion, reminding others that they matter deeply. Please guide me in my interactions, helping me to be a light in someone’s life. May I be quick to listen and slow to judge, showing kindness and understanding to everyone I encounter. Thank You for the gift of Your presence and the promise that You are always with me. I trust You with my journey and my heart, and I desire to glorify Your name in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

October 21st 2025 – Canvas of hope, Love and Purpose

Scripture Reading:

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:55-57)

Reflection:

In the midst of life’s uncertainties, 1 Corinthians 15 stands as a beacon of hope and assurance. The Apostle Paul writes to the Corinthian church, addressing a community grappling with questions about resurrection and eternal life. His words resonate deeply with us today, reminding us that death, often seen as the ultimate enemy, has been defeated through Christ. Paul’s rhetorical questions pierce through despair. “Where, O death, is your victory?” he asks, challenging the very notion that death can claim victory over humanity. For those who believe in Jesus, death is no longer a final destination but a passage into the fullness of life with God. This profound truth shifts our perspective, allowing us to see beyond the pain and loss we experience in this world.

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. Yet, in the heart of this passage, we find grace. The law, which reveals our shortcomings, also points us to our need for a Savior. In Jesus, we find that grace abounds, offering us forgiveness and redemption. Through His resurrection, we are assured that sin does not define us, nor does death have the final say.

As we reflect on our own lives, we may encounter moments of doubt, fear, and sorrow. Perhaps we’ve experienced the loss of loved ones, faced illness, or felt the weight of unconfessed sin. In these times, it’s crucial to remember that we are not alone. Jesus walks with us, sharing in our grief and offering comfort. He invites us to lay our burdens at His feet, assuring us that His victory over death is also our victory.

Contemplation:

Take some time now to reflect on your own journey. Are there fears or losses that you need to surrender to God? Visualize laying these burdens at His feet, inviting His peace to wash over you. Allow the hope of the resurrection to fill your heart, knowing that you are loved beyond measure.

Application:

This week, seek opportunities to share the message of hope found in 1 Corinthians 15. Whether through a conversation, a note of encouragement, or simply a listening ear, let others know that in Christ, there is victory over death and sin. Be a source of light in someone’s life, reminding them of the eternal hope we have through our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Embrace each day as a gift, for within every moment lies the potential for hope, healing, and the beauty of new beginnings.”

Prayer:

Gracious Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the incredible gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for the victory He achieved on the cross and through His resurrection, which assures us that death is not the end. We praise You for the hope we have in Him, a hope that transcends our circumstances and brings peace in our storms.

Lord, we acknowledge the sting of death and the pain of loss that we carry. We lift up to You those who are grieving, those who feel the weight of despair, and those who are uncertain of what lies ahead. Surround them with Your comfort, Lord. Remind them of Your promises and the eternal life that awaits us through faith in You.

Help us, O God, to live in the light of this victory. May our lives reflect the hope we have in Christ, and may we be instruments of Your peace to those around us. When we encounter fear or doubt, remind us of the assurance found in Your Word. Empower us to share this good news with others, so they too may experience the joy of salvation and the hope of resurrection.

As we go through our days, may we hold tightly to the truth that in Christ, we are more than conquerors. Let our hearts be filled with joy and thanksgiving, knowing that our future is secure in Your hands. We trust in Your unfailing love and grace. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

October 18th 2025 – YOUnique Gifts & Talents

Scripture Reading:

“For what gives you the right to make such a judgment? What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?” (1 Corinthians 4:7)

Reflection:

God has uniquely crafted you with special gifts because He has significant plans for your life. Embrace the calling He has placed upon you with gratitude and joy, but be mindful of where your gaze wanders. It’s all too easy to become envious of the gifts that others possess, leading us to overlook the incredible blessings God has given us. When we allow envy to take root, we risk telling God that His choices for us are flawed. Reflect on this profound question: where does pride misplace your reliance? Pride can be a deceptive force, leading us away from the truth and causing harm, even with the best of intentions.

“Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.” (Romans 12:3)

Application:

So, how do you begin to explore the gifts God has bestowed upon you? You won’t find clarity while remaining stagnant. Turn to prayer and earnestly seek God’s guidance on how you can serve Him. As you step out in faith, you will uncover the unique abilities He has placed within you. Engaging in service will help you discover and cultivate skills you never knew you had. Just like talented musicians who dedicate countless hours to perfecting their craft, the more you exercise your gifts, the more you will grow and flourish in them. Are you using your gifts faithfully and wholeheartedly?

“We have all received gifts from God. It is our responsibility to nurture these gifts for His glory and to bless others.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude. Thank You for loving me unconditionally and for the unique gifts and talents You have woven into my being. I am in awe of Your wisdom in choosing to bless me with these abilities, and I recognize that they are not just for my benefit but for the purpose of serving others and glorifying You.

Lord, I confess that I have often taken my gifts for granted and allowed envy to cloud my vision. I’ve been distracted by what others have, forgetting to appreciate the beauty of what You’ve given me. Forgive me for my ungratefulness and for moments when I’ve doubted Your perfect plan for my life. Help me to see my gifts through Your eyes and to embrace the calling You have placed on my heart.

Guide me, Lord, as I seek to use my gifts to uplift others and to bring glory to Your name. Show me the ways I can serve You and those around me with the talents I have. Help me to be diligent in nurturing these gifts, to recognize opportunities to share them, and to do so with a spirit of humility and love.

I surrender my life to You, asking for Your strength and wisdom as I embark on this journey of discovery and service. May my actions reflect Your grace, and may I always remember that every good gift comes from You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

October 15th 2025 – Unhindered

Scripture Reading:

“If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more? Nevertheless, we have not used this right, but endure all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 9:12)

The apostle Paul exemplified what it means to sacrifice for the Gospel. He faced imprisonment, beatings, shipwrecks, and even venomous snake bites, yet his resolve to proclaim Christ remained unwavering. In his correspondence with the Corinthians, we witness a man committed to his mission, unshaken by the trials that sought to deter him. How could he persevere? The answer is profound yet simple: he deeply understood the God he served.

Stepping out in faith often means embracing the unknown. God may call us to share the Gospel with someone whose response is uncertain or to contribute to our church when our own financial situation feels precarious. In every circumstance, one truth stands firm—God is unchanging. He is the same God who provided for Paul in his times of need, who safeguarded him during perilous journeys, and who offered His Son as the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation. Because He is God, we can boldly step out in faith and discover a life filled with purpose and joy. Because He is God, we are free to serve Him wholeheartedly.

Application:

  1. Reflect on Your Sacrifices: Take time this week to identify areas in your life where you may need to sacrifice for the sake of the Gospel. Consider what you’re willing to give up—time, resources, or comfort—to serve God more fully.
  2. Step Out in Faith: Choose one specific action that requires you to step out of your comfort zone. This could be sharing your faith with someone, volunteering in your community, or contributing to your church’s mission. Write down your plan and take action.
  3. Journal Your Journey: Keep a journal to document your experiences as you step out in faith. Reflect on any fears or doubts you face and how God helps you overcome them. This will serve as a reminder of His faithfulness.
  4. Pray for Boldness: Set aside time each day to pray specifically for boldness and clarity in sharing the Gospel. Ask God to open doors for conversations and opportunities to serve others.
  5. Connect with Community: Engage with your church or a small group to discuss your commitment to living out your faith. Share your goals and encourage one another in your journeys. Accountability can strengthen your resolve.
  6. Celebrate God’s Provision: As you take steps in faith, be mindful of how God provides for you. Celebrate the small victories and the ways He shows up in your life, reinforcing your trust in His unchanging nature.

By actively applying these steps, you’ll deepen your understanding of God’s call and experience the freedom that comes from living a life dedicated to Him.

“When we give our lives to God, only then do we discover maximum freedom.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the boundless love and grace You have shown me. I am grateful for Jesus and the incredible gift of salvation that transforms my life. Lord, I recognize that this gift brings me freedom—not just from sin, but to serve You with all my heart and soul. I ask that You remove any fear or doubt that clouds my mind and holds me back. Help me to fully surrender my life to You, to trust in Your plans, and to boldly step out in faith. Use me as an instrument for Your Kingdom, guiding my actions and words to reflect Your love and truth. May my life be a testimony of Your goodness, and may I continually seek to glorify You in all I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

October 10th 2025 – A Heart Aligned With God’s Will.

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” (Matthew 6:24)

In our journey of faith, we often find ourselves at a crossroads, pulled in different directions by the demands of this world. Matthew 6:24 challenges us to evaluate who or what holds the ultimate authority in our lives. Jesus’ words serve as a reminder that our hearts can only be fully devoted to one master — to God or to the fleeting treasures of this world.

Proverbs 6:18 tells us that “a heart that devises wicked schemes” is one of the things the Lord hates. This verse underscores the importance of a heart aligned with God’s will. A heart focused on worldly gain can lead us away from the very purpose for which we were created. It’s not only about whom we serve but also about the condition of our hearts.

Is Your Heart Right with Jesus?
Take a moment to reflect on your own heart. What occupies your thoughts, your time, and your resources? Are you striving for the things of this world, or are you seeking first the Kingdom of God? Jesus invites us to examine our priorities.

When our hearts are aligned with Him, our actions will naturally reflect His love and grace. We’ll find ourselves serving others, showing kindness, and living out the fruits of the Spirit. Conversely, if our hearts are divided, we may find ourselves stressed, anxious, and caught in a cycle of dissatisfaction.

As you go about your day, think about practical ways you can ensure that your heart remains focused on Jesus. Perhaps it’s through prayer, acts of kindness, or simply taking time to be still in His presence. Let your heart be a reflection of His love, guiding your thoughts and actions in every situation.

“True devotion stems from a heart aligned with Jesus; when we serve Him wholeheartedly, our lives become a testament of His love and grace to the world around us.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I come before You today, seeking to align my heart with Yours. Help me to identify any areas where I am serving other masters. Cleanse my heart of any distractions and fill it with Your love and purpose. Teach me to seek You above all else, trusting that You will provide for my needs. May my life reflect Your glory as I devote myself fully to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Is your heart right with Him? Take a moment to reflect and consider inviting Jesus to be your Savior. Let His love transform you and guide your life. October 9th 2025 – The Greatest Man in History – Jesus

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

As we reflect on the life of Jesus, we are drawn into the profound mystery of His existence. The greatest man in history,

Jesus walked the earth without academic titles, yet people gathered to learn from Him. His words carried a wisdom that reached far beyond human learning and revealed the very heart of God. Through stories simple and profound, He called people into a living relationship that reshapes the soul and draws us toward Heaven.
He possessed no treatments or remedies, yet lives were restored wherever He went. The broken found hope, the suffering found relief, and the hopeless found new life. His healing touched more than bodies—it reached hearts, identities, and spirits, reminding us that true restoration begins within.
Though He commanded no soldiers and wielded no weapons, His presence unsettled rulers and authorities. He confronted injustice, lifted the forgotten, and demonstrated that genuine power flows from truth, humility, and love rather than force.
He never marched an army across a battlefield, yet through surrender and sacrifice He overcame sin and death itself. What appeared to be defeat became the greatest victory, turning a cross into a symbol of redemption and hope for the world.
Jesus lived without earthly wealth or royal privilege, yet His authority extends beyond all borders. His life teaches that greatness is found not in status, but in service, and that our hearts find peace when aligned with His will.

Though He governed no nation, He reigns as King over a kingdom not built by human hands. All who follow Him are invited to live under that reign now, reflecting His love, mercy, and grace.
He committed no wrong, yet endured condemnation so that others might be forgiven. In bearing our guilt, He opened the way for reconciliation with God and the promise of new life.
Though laid in a tomb, death could not hold Him. He lives, and because He lives, hope remains alive as well. His resurrection stands as the foundation of faith and a reminder that renewal, forgiveness, and transformation are always possible in Him.

As we meditate on these truths, let us respond with hearts full of gratitude. May we strive to follow His example, live in His love, and share the good news of His life, death, and resurrection with everyone we encounter.

“In the quiet strength of His humility, Jesus reveals the true essence of greatness: to love, to serve, and to rise above the world’s expectations, showing us that in surrender, we find our true identity.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, As we come before You in prayer, we are filled with awe and gratitude for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for sending Him into our world, not with the trappings of power or prestige, but as a humble servant who taught us the depths of Your love and grace.

Lord, help us to embrace the example set by Jesus. Teach us to lead with humility, to serve those around us, and to share His wisdom with eager hearts. May we be vessels of His healing, bringing hope and restoration to those who are hurting, just as He did.

We acknowledge that in a world often driven by ambition and competition, true greatness lies in love and sacrifice. Help us to reflect the character of Christ in our daily lives, standing up for the marginalized and speaking truth to power, even when it challenges us.

Thank You for the victory of the cross, for the hope we find in the resurrection. May we live in the light of this truth, sharing the good news of Your love with those who need to hear it. Fill us with the courage to proclaim that Jesus lives, and in Him, we have new life.

As we navigate our days, guide our hearts to seek You above all else. May our lives be a testament to Your grace, and may we continually strive to grow in our relationship with You, drawing strength from the love of our Savior. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen

October 6th 2025 – Wells Without Water

“These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.” (2 Peter 2:17)

In 2 Peter, the apostle Peter reveals the sobering reality of false teachers. He describes them as “wells without water”—a powerful metaphor for those who claim to offer the Truth of God but provide nothing of substance. Imagine seekers approaching these wells, eager for spiritual nourishment, only to find them dry and disappointing.

The truth is, God longs to offer us His living water and to cultivate a fruitful life within us. This begins with connecting to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. This connection is not merely a religious ritual; it is a transformative relationship. Jesus articulated it beautifully:

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

As we invest time in prayer, immerse ourselves in His Word, and engage with His people, we tap into the deep, life-giving well of the Lord Jesus Christ. His well overflows, inviting us to drink deeply and quench our thirst permanently.

“Without Jesus Christ, our lives will be fruitless and unfulfilled.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a grateful heart, thanking You for the refreshing water of life that is found in Jesus. I recognize that in a world filled with distractions and false promises, only You can quench my deepest thirst. Lord, I long to connect with You more deeply, to draw from the well of Your love and grace each day.

Help me to carve out time to sit in Your presence, to read Your Word, and to seek Your guidance through prayer. May Your Spirit fill me with a hunger for Your truth and a desire to share it with others. Let the living water flow from my heart, nourishing those around me and drawing them closer to You.

Father, I ask that You empower me to be a fruitful worker in Your Kingdom. Fill me to overflowing with Your love, joy, and peace, so that I can reflect Your light in a world that desperately needs it. May my life be a testament to Your goodness and grace, and may I always point others to the well that never runs dry. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

October 4th 2025 – Intense Situations

“What I dreaded has come true.” (Job 3:24-25)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Life often presents us with intense situations, and the story of Job is a profound reminder of how to navigate through them. Job faced unimaginable loss and grief, questioning the very fabric of his existence. In his darkest hour, he lamented the reality of his suffering, feeling utterly abandoned. Yet, we see that even in such despair, Job’s story is not merely one of suffering but a journey toward understanding and faith.

In today’s world, where suffering can be amplified by social media and constant news cycles, it’s easy to fall into the trap of judgment. When we see others in pain, we may instinctively think they must have done something to deserve it, reflecting a more modern inclination toward a “karma” mindset rather than the grace-filled truth of the Gospel. However, Jesus challenges this perspective. In Luke 13, when asked about tragic events, He redirects the focus from others’ sins to our own hearts, urging us to examine our relationship with God.

As Christians, our response to intense situations—both our own and those of others—should be rooted in compassion, humility, and a commitment to support one another. We must resist the urge to judge and instead offer encouragement and love. Our role is not to point fingers but to extend hands in support, reminding each other of God’s unchanging goodness and grace.

When we encounter someone who is suffering, it’s crucial to remember that their pain does not equate to personal failure. We should approach them with empathy, offering a listening ear and a heart willing to share the love of Christ.

Let this devotion be a reminder that through our shared struggles, we can cultivate understanding and compassion, embodying the love of Christ in our actions and words.

“True strength emerges not from avoiding hardship, but from embracing it with a heart anchored in faith.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, In times of turmoil and heartache, I come before You with a humble heart, seeking Your wisdom and strength. Forgive me for the moments I have hastily judged others in their suffering, forgetting Your grace that covers us all. Help me to embrace a spirit of compassion, to see the pain of others through Your eyes, and to remember that suffering does not always stem from sin.

Guide me to be a source of comfort and encouragement to those in need, reminding them of Your unwavering love. In my own struggles, may I lean fully on You, trusting that You direct my paths, even when the road ahead seems daunting. Teach me to walk in faith, to uplift those around me, and to reflect Your light in the darkest of times.

May my heart be open to Your leading, and may I be a vessel of hope and healing in a world that desperately needs it. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

October 2nd 2025 – Teach Me to Love Like Jesus

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 14:28)

Have you ever shown attitude toward someone? Maybe a cheek or a cold shoulder? We often treat people based on whatever emotion we’re feeling at the moment. Sometimes we’re sad, reaching out for comfort from those around us. Other times, anger consumes us, and we seek someone to blame, venting our frustrations on them. But the most painful feeling of all? Not feeling loved and shutting ourselves off from the ability to love in return. Fortunately, we have Jesus, who modeled for us the essence of love and how to treat others. Let’s reflect on how Jesus loved.

“If there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death—even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:1-11)

How do you treat the people around you?

Take a moment to reflect on this for each of the following categories: family, friends, neighbors, classmates, strangers, your teacher, or your boss.

How did Jesus treat others? How did He respond in times of anguish and pain? How encouraged are you to adopt that loving mindset?

I’ll admit, I don’t always treat others as I should. Sometimes, I feel spiteful; other times, I feel lonely or hurt. Anger can creep in, and I might feel wretched. So, what do we do when we find ourselves in such a state? Turning to God should always be our first option, yet it’s not always easy. Paul encourages us to act without selfish ambition, to consider the interests of others. I know I often fall short of “considering others better than myself” or treating them with the love they deserve.

But think about Jesus. He bore all our pain and lowered Himself to the status of a servant. He loved, He served, He saved, and then He lived. That’s how we must strive to live. There’s a song that reminds us, “We live, we love, we forgive and never give up, ’cause the days we are given are gifts from above. So today, remember to love.”

“Jesus gave us the commandment to love one another. As He has loved us, we need to show compassion and love to others. If you don’t know how, ask Jesus to teach you to love like He does.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Your greatness astounds me, and Your love fills my heart with gratitude. I thank You for the gift of my wife, my family, and my friends who pour their love into my life each day. Please teach me to love like You love—unconditionally, selflessly, and wholeheartedly. Help me to embrace each opportunity to show compassion, understanding, and kindness to everyone I encounter. Grant me the strength to rise above my feelings of anger, hurt, or loneliness, and instead reflect Your love in my actions. May I always remember that every moment is a chance to share Your light with the world. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen!
