September 26th 2026 – The Joy of Jesus

Scripture Reference:

“In that same hour, He rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, ‘I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what You were pleased to do.'” (Luke 10:21-22)

Reflection:

In the Gospel of Luke, we encounter a profound and beautiful moment where Jesus expresses joy, revealing the depths of His heart and His divine mission. This passage captures a glimpse of the relationship between Jesus and the Father, showcasing how joy is not merely an emotion but a response to God’s presence and work in our lives. Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, a reminder that our joy is rooted in spiritual connection rather than worldly circumstances.

This rejoicing also highlights a remarkable truth: God’s wisdom and revelation often dwell with the humble and the childlike. In a world that often equates knowledge and power with worth, Jesus turns that notion on its head, inviting us to find joy in simplicity and sincerity. This devotion invites us into a deeper understanding of how Jesus’ joy can transform our hearts and lives, encouraging us to reflect that joy in our own relationships and communities.

  1. The Source of Joy
Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, indicating that His joy was rooted in divine communion. This teaches us that true joy comes from a deep relationship with God. In our moments of prayer and worship, we can find joy that transcends circumstances, just as Jesus did.
  2. Rejoicing in Revelation
Jesus praises the Father for revealing His truths to the humble rather than the wise. This shows that the Kingdom of God is accessible to all, regardless of status or intellect. It encourages us to approach God with childlike faith, open to His guidance and wisdom. Are we willing to embrace humility and seek His truth?
  3. Celebration of the Ordinary
Jesus found joy in the simple things—the lives transformed by His presence and the hearts that responded to His message. In our daily lives, we can find joy in the small victories: a kind word, a moment of grace, or a shared laugh. Each moment can be an opportunity to rejoice in God’s goodness.
  4. The Community of Joy
Jesus’ joy was not just for Himself; it was shared with His followers. As a community of believers, we are called to rejoice together. Sharing our joys and burdens strengthens our bonds and reflects the joy of the Lord in our lives. How can we foster a spirit of joy within our church and community?

As we ponder the joy of Jesus, let us strive to reflect that joy in our own lives, becoming vessels of His love and grace in a world that desperately needs it.

“True joy is found not in our circumstances, but in our connection with God; it’s the light that shines brightest through humble hearts.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thankful for the gift of joy that flows from our relationship with You. Help us to rejoice in Your presence as Jesus did, fully embracing the wisdom that comes from a childlike faith. May we open our hearts to the revelations You wish to share with us, recognizing that Your truths are often hidden from the wise and learned but revealed to those who seek You with humility.

As we navigate our daily lives, remind us to celebrate the simple blessings that surround us. Help us to find joy in the small moments—a warm smile, a kind word, or a moment of grace shared with others. Fill our hearts with Your Spirit so that we may reflect Your joy to the world around us.

Guide us, Lord, in building a community that mirrors the joy of Your Kingdom. Teach us to share our joys and burdens alike, knowing that together we can uplift one another and spread Your love. May our lives be a testament to the joy that comes from serving You and loving one another. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

October 14th 2025 – Hide and Seek

Scripture Reading:

“If you seek me with all your heart, you will find me” (Jeremiah 29:13-14).

“But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deuteronomy 4:29).

Reflection:

God invites us to seek Him wholeheartedly. When we pursue Him with every fiber of our being, He promises that we will find Him. This reminds me of the joy of playing hide and seek with my children when they were little. They would close their eyes and count, their excitement building as they anticipated the search.

While I would find a hiding spot, they would eagerly explore every nook and cranny, opening closet doors and checking under beds. The thrill of searching was always fun, but the true joy came when they finally found me. I’d shout, “You found me!” and their delighted response, “I found you!” would lead to a celebration, marking the end of the game.

If my goal had been to hide in a place where they could never find me, the game wouldn’t have been enjoyable. The excitement lies in the discovery. Similarly, in our relationship with God, He doesn’t hide from us so well that we cannot find Him.

“If you seek Jesus with all your heart, you will find Him.” Hint… He is Right Here.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the promise that You are always near and that we can find You when we seek with all our heart. I am grateful that You do not hide Yourself from me, but instead, You invite me into a deeper relationship with You. Help me to pursue You with passion and dedication, to seek You in every moment of my life.

As I embark on this journey, instill in me a child-like anticipation and excitement for the moments we share together. Teach me to recognize Your presence in my daily life and to trust in Your guidance. May my heart be open to the whispers of Your Spirit, leading me closer to You.

I pray that my desire to know You more intimately grows stronger each day, and that I may bring others along this journey of discovery. May I celebrate every encounter with You, rejoicing in the joy of being found. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you haven’t yet invited Jesus into your heart, this moment can change everything. It’s never too late to seek His love, grace, and forgiveness.
