February 5th 2018 – I Messed Up Again!

Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.” (John 4:13-15)

Have you ever messed up so badly that it left a sense of believing that God wants nothing to do with you? If your answer is “yes,” then you’re in good company, because we all have. We’ve all made poor choices and bad decisions. A bad decision can cost you your marriage, job, friendships and even your peace of mind.

But, if you’re willing to admit you’ve messed up, you’re a prime candidate for an encounter with Jesus. In fact, He specializes in ministering to messed-up people. One of the many things I love about Jesus is that He gravitates toward those who are typically ignored, ridiculed, hated and rejected.

One of the greatest examples of this is found in the book of John. In chapter 4, Jesus encounters a woman at a well. This nameless woman meets Jesus while she performs one of the most mundane tasks in her messed-up life — drawing water out of a well.
She quickly learned a lesson we all need to know as well — the mundane can become momentous when we let Jesus clean up our mess-ups and radically change our lives. Jesus wants to clean up our mess-ups so much that He will break down every possible barrier to do so.

For example, to meet the woman at the well … Jesus overcame a cultural barrier. Jesus traveled through a region that His people “the Jews” would always avoid. Jesus saw culture, not as a barrier to compassion, but as a bridge to ministry.

Jesus overcame a moral barrier. This woman carried a terrible reputation. Her past put her in the category of a Hall-of-Fame sinner. She had been married five times and was now living with a man who wasn’t her husband. With this track record, everyone in her community knew her, and no man would dare to speak with her in public. No man, except Jesus! Jesus engaged with this woman, and we see her fess up to her mess-up.
We live in a culture that teaches us to hide our mess-ups and call them anything except the sins that they are. Jesus demonstrated through this woman that He will forgive us when we are willing to confess our sin to Him.

Jesus is not intimidated by our past. He sees beyond our failures and offers us a faithful future. You can’t do anything so bad that it will cause God to love you less.

If you’re reading this today and feel like Jesus wants nothing to do with you, I want you to know that He will break every possible barrier to reach you. Jesus is so serious about the task that He left heaven and came to earth to restore anyone who is willing to be cleansed. Today, you can meet with Jesus, bring Him your mess-ups, and allow Him to clean you up.

“Addiction does not always kill the addict. But it kills the hearts of the family and friends that love you and tried to help!”

“Jesus wants nothing more than to forgive you of your past and give you a brand new fresh start, confess your sin, ask for forgiveness and ask Him into your heart. He will help you, if you let him.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me so much that You destroy every possible barrier that could keep me from You. Help me to quickly fess up to my mess-ups, so that I can receive the wonderful forgiveness that is only found in You. Please help restore my life and help restore the relationships that I caused pain to. Come into my life and rescue me Lord! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

February 2nd 2018 – Why Would God Choose Us (Part 3 of 5)

The next person that I want us to look at in this series is Rahab.  Her story is found in Joshua 2.

You see, the Bible doesn’t give the occupation of every person, but it does tell us hers.  Rehab was a prostitute and yet God sent the spies to her house, I believe that the reason He did is because He saw that she had a pure heart, a heart of faith.  Here is what the Bible says about her.

(Joshua 2:1) “Then Joshua secretly sent out two spies from the Israelite camp at Acacia Grove. He instructed them, “Scout out the land on the other side of the Jordan River, especially around Jericho.” So the two men set out and came to the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there that night.

Then we see in Hebrews that she is in the Hall of Faith with other great men and women of God.  (Hebrews 11:31) It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute was not destroyed with the people in her city who refused to obey God.   For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.

The thing that is so amazing is that she is in the lineage of Jesus.  That’s right, an ex-prostitute is in the line of Jesus.  See it for yourself. (Matthew 1:1) “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham: (Matthew 1:5) Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse,”

So you see that even when life throws you a lemon, you can go ahead and make lemonade with God’s strength.  We don’t know why she started in this lifestyle, all I know is that if you let God be God in your life, He can take the lowest part of you and make it His highest.

So today, don’t look at where you have come from, look at where you’re going to go.  With God on your side, how can you lose?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, If you are for me, how can I lose? Today, please take my low points and turn them into great opportunities to help others. I thank You that my steps are ordered by You, and that You Lord will open the good doors for me and shut the bad ones. I trust You and am so grateful for all that You do in my life., in Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 30th 2018 – Just Because it’s Permissible..

Just Because it’s Permissible.. Does it Edify Me?

“All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.” (1 Corinthians 10:23)

When I was in my twenties and even thirties, I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted and never gain any weight. Because I was working in different locations everyday, my colleagues and I ate alot of fast food. I would often sypersize my meals. Day after day I would eat like that and never gain a pound. Now if I even think about some of these supersized combos, I put on weight. I just can’t do what I once was able to do.

(Hebrews 12:1) tells us, “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us.”

What may be a weight to one person isn’t necessarily a weight to others. Sometimes we’ll see another Christian doing something, and we’ll say, “Well, I’ll go ahead and do that too.” But what may not be a hindrance to another person can be a hindrance to you.

Sin is sin. And sin is the same for everyone. But there are certain things that some may have the freedom to do that others don’t have. So we have to look at those things and not simply ask whether they are permissible. We also need to ask whether they are edifying. It is not a matter of asking, “Is this allowed?” It’s a matter of asking, “Is this going to build me up?” So ask yourself that question.

The apostle Paul said, “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify” (1 Corinthians 10:23). In other words, just because something is permissible for a Christian doesn’t mean that you ought to do it. Maybe it could hurt you.

“What is ok for me is not always ok for others, we all have different struggles.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the power I have in Christ to identify what is good and what is bad for me. It’s with Your power that I can control my thoughts and my emotions, rather than them controlling me. Help me focus on my ow issues than others, help me identify what may be ok for me is not always ok for others. Please protect me from myself and my own destructive sinful nature. Help me forgive myself and seek You first. It is because of Your promises of hope and salvation that I can rejoice no matter what the situation may be. Thank You Lord! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 27th 2018 – Epitaph for a Fool

“Oh, that they were wise and could understand this! Oh, that they might know their fate!” (Deuteronomy 32:29)

An Epitaphs is a short saying used to sum up ones life. We most offen find them on headstones. If you were to sum up your life, if you were to write the inscription for your own headstone, what would it say?

These words appear on the gravestone of an Atheist: “Here is where Sam Thompson lies. Nobody laughs, nobody cries. Where he goes, how he fares, nobody knows, nobody cares.”

A tombstone belonging to Tom Johnson, is said to bear this inscription: “Here lies Tom johnson, He stepped off the sidewalk to see if the bus was coming, it was!”

For Saul, the first king of Israel, an appropriate inscription would have been his own words: “I have played the fool and erred exceedingly” (1 Samuel 26:21).

We, too, can play the fool. We play the fool when we disobey God, even in what we think are small matters. Spiritual decline is gradual. Saul’s failure was not immediate. At first he was humble, but pride soon set in, and then came envy. He took matters into his own hands and made it worse. We need to obey God in everything He tells us to do.

We play the fool when we attempt to justify the wrongs we have done. On more than one occasion, Saul blamed others for what he had done wrong. He would not own up to his own sin.

We play the fool when we forget that how we finish means more than how we start. A good beginning does not guarantee a good ending. Happy endings are the result of good choices.

We don’t really know who the Sauls of life actually are until much later. We think certain people are doing well. But let’s see how things end up. The outcome is not always what we expect.

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”

Prayer:

Heavenly  Father, Thank You for loving me, even when I am a fool. I know my sins have separated me from You, Lord. I ask that You forgive me of all of my sins. Give me the power to live for You all the days of my life. Thank You for Your sacrifice on the Cross. Thank You that You have made my relationship with You so simple. In humble faith, I give You my weaknesses and flaws and ask that Your glory be revealed in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 26th 2018 – God’s Warning Signs

But the LORD God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.” (Genesis 2:16-17)

Why are we always drawn to that which is forbidden?

All we need is for someone to say, “Whatever you do, don’t look up,” and we will immediately want to look up. We hear, “Whatever you do, don’t go in there,” and we will want to go in there.

Try saying to a child, “Stay out of that room,” or “Don’t touch that,” and that child will immediately begin to push the limits and try to see how much he or she can get away with. It is our human nature.

Perhaps in our sinful way of thinking, we assume that God says no to us because He is trying to keep us from something that would be enjoyable. We think, Why wouldn’t God let me do that? If God really loved me, He would let me do anything I wanted to.

But that kind of reasoning is simply false. Because God loves you, He puts up warning signs and barriers and tells us, “Stay away from that, don’t do this.”

The Bible tells us, “For the Lord God is our sun and our shield, He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.” (Psalm 84:11).

So a good thing to remember is that if God tells you not to do something, then that something is not a good thing.

In sense, God issues warning signs, and there was one clearly attached to a particular tree in the Garden of Eden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

God placed Adam and Eve in an absolute paradise, talk about landing a great job. Adam’s job was to be in the Garden and to appreciate and discover all that God had created. He was to spend time in the presence of the Lord each and every day as the Lord came walking through the Garden during the cool of the day.

God had placed only one restriction on Adam and Eve. Of all the trees in the Garden,  (there must have been thousands of them) there was only one tree they could not eat from.

And yet, in Genesis 3, we find Adam and Eve hanging out at the foot of the only tree God told them to stay away from. Adam and Eve deliberately ignored the warning God gave them.

The devil is cunning. He will try to make the bad look good and good look bad. And he does a pretty effective job of it, look around us. There is no doubt he was trying to attract Adam and Eve to this tree to get them to eat of its fruit.

We notice three specific strategies the devil used to get Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit.

First, he questioned God’s Word. He did not deny that God had spoken; he simply questioned whether God had really said what Eve thought He had said. He wanted her to think that perhaps she had misunderstood God’s command. And today, the devil still twists the truth to try and alienate people from God.

Second, he questioned God’s love. He wanted Eve to think that God was holding something back from her when, in reality, God himself had placed those restrictions for Adam’s and her own good to keep them from sinning.

Third, he substituted his own lie. He questioned God’s Word, he questioned God’s love, and then he substituted his own lie. He led them to believe that they would become like gods if they ate the fruit of the three. He was saying, “Eve, You will be a goddess. Imagine. You will know good and evil. God is trying to hold something back from you. Go ahead, it’s ok…”

Here we see a primary principle of spiritual attack: the devil works from without to within, which is the very opposite of God’s method. God begins His work in a person’s heart, and the changes then affect his or her outer lifestyle. But the devil will always to try to come from the outside to gain a foothold on the inside.

That strategy was successful with Adam and Eve, and their eyes were opened to the wickedness of sin, the deceitfulness of the devil, and the weakness of their own nature. They were exposed to all of the wicked depravity of the world.

Unfortunately, we know more about this wicked world than we should, and we know far less of the Word of God, which we desperately need.  As the apostle Paul said, “But everyone knows that you are obedient to the Lord. This makes me very happy. I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong.” (Romans 16:19).

It all starts with paying attention to the warning signs God gives us. Are you ignoring any today?

“The devil will twist the truth to try and alienate you people from God.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for taking my sin upon You. I am sorry for the wrong things I have done and for the right I have failed to do. I confess my sins to You and ask for forgiveness. Lord, thank You for Your warning signs that help turn me from sinful things. Help me to keep my eyes not on sin, but on my Savior, Jesus. Help me to soar by casting off the weights of my sin. Help me to live the life You have called me to live. I thank You for having a winning game plan for us, In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 24th 2018 – Victory with the Power of the Holy Spirit

“So Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother, and came to the vineyards of Timnah. Now to his surprise, a young lion came roaring against him.  And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he had nothing in his hand. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done.” (Judges 14:5-6)

“And she (Delilah) said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him..” (Judges 16:20)

Samson is a powerful example of a man of God who won his battles over and over again because the Spirit of the Lord came upon him. Yet when he was finally defeated by Delilah’s temptations he didn’t realize that the Lord had left him, the woman’s spell was so erective.

The enemy is subtle and the temptations of the flesh can so quickly quench the presence and power of God’s spirit that we may not even realize it has happened. But this anointing of the Holy Spirit is our Life….and our victory. Opposition can be destroyed and burdens can be lifted when His wonderful Presence fills and rests upon us. Our greatest battle is maintaining that internal communion with Him by His Spirit. Temptations, bad habits, our sinful nature, demonic attacks, all these collaborate to rob us of this holy anointing, our communion with God, and our only real power over every enemy!

Samson’s victories vividly demonstrate the tremendous power of the anointing. His power over the Philistines was legendary and truly heroic. But when he lost his anointing, they nearly destroyed him. How critical it is in these days to keep our lamps burning with the Holy “oil” of Yeshua’s (Jesus’) anointing. His goodness will defeat the evils around us…His light will banish darkness…His joy will annihilate our depression…His forgiveness will root out all bitterness…His love will overcome our natural hatred…and every subtle deception will be exposed by His excellent TRUTH! Seek HIS ANOINTING, the fullness of the Holy Spirit — He will equip you to break every yoke of bondage and defeat every internal and external enemy.

Please don’t find yourself in the condition of Samson, in the arms of his lust, not even realizing that the anointing had left him. The cost was enormous, even though he was restored. Instead, guard yourself against the subtle temptations of this world seeking more and more of His indwelling Presence. That anointing will produce one victory after another.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, You know the thirst each of us have! Lord we as your children come to ask You to fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Lord! We have come to the last days and You have promised to pour out Your Spirit upon all flesh! I claim in Your promise and plead for Your Holy Spirit Lord! Your Word says whoever asks shall receive! Let Your Holy Spirit step into my heart Lord and let His mighty presence engulf me even now! Lord cleanse me of all my sins and short comings so that Your Holy Spirit can dwell in me. Lord! Unless He comes into my life, I can never lead a flawless life before You! So we need Your Spirit. We open my heart to You, come in and take control of our whole being and quench our thirst Lord! I thank You Lord right now for granting us this precious gift. Let Him be my sweet companion for ever and let Him direct my steps. We know You have answered this prayer because we ask this in the most precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

January 20th 2018 – Sin…Not So Fun After All!

“It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.” (Hebrews 11:24-25)

There can be an initial excitement when we commit sin. Of course, it doesn’t last long. The Bible says that Moses “chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin” (Hebrews 11:25) The Bible also says “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).

When you get away with something and nothing happens, there is an initial euphoria. You think, They lied to me—it’s actually fun. It will be fun . . . at first. It could be exciting and fun to take a selfie  with a train coming. . . until the train actually hits you. The same is true of sin. It can be pleasurable for a time until it destroys you or your life.

The first time you get away with whatever it is you shouldn’t have done, you think, This is pretty cool. I can be a Christian and still do all of this stuff too. You believe you are getting away with it and that you can actually have the best of both worlds. You’ve convinced yourself that you can live a double life. You might even say that you feel good about it. But your feelings can mislead you. And it will all come crashing down.

Sometimes when God doesn’t bust us right away for our stupidity, we think we can always get away with it. When we don’t reap the immediate consequences of a sin, we might even, in our deranged thinking, rationalize what we are doing. Yet (Ecclesiastes 8:11) says, “When a crime is not punished quickly, people feel it is safe to do wrong.” Don’t confuse God’s grace with His permission, and even worse, His blessing.

As long as we never do wrong and always do right, we don’t and won’t have a problem with sin. That may sound easy to some. But the truth is, we are all sinners…

However the Bible tells us how to deal with past sins and how to deal with sin in the present and future. It is easier than you think. “Past sins,” you may ask? Ask for forgiveness.

(1 John 1:9-10) “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.”

What about dealing with our present sins? (Hebrews 12:1-2) says that we should strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up and that we should run with endurance the race God has set before us.

“Sin will blind you, and then it will find you. Your sin will find you out.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for taking my sin upon You. I am sorry for the wrong things I have done and for the right I have failed to do. I confess my sins to You and ask for forgiveness. (Confess your sins, by act and by name to Him). Lord, thank You for helping me with my past and present sins. Help me to keep my eyes not on my sin, but on my Savior, Jesus. Help me to soar by casting off the weights of sin. Help me to live the life You have called me to live. I thank You for having a winning game plan for dealing with my Sin, In Jesus’ name, Amen

Prayer is just talking with God. He knows your heart, so don’t worry about getting your words just right. Here is a suggested prayer to guide you:

Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen.

If you have done this, then congratulations! (Luke 15:7) says that when one sinner accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Saviour the angels rejoice. So there’s a party going on in heaven right now over your decision! Remember this date as your “second birthday,” the day you were born into a new life in Christ! You have God’s Word that he answered your prayer.

January 16th 2018 – Amazing Grace

“But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.” (Acts 8:3)

Once there was a ruthless hit man who hated Christians. he did whatever it took to get them arrested, even murdered. Countless Christians were persecuted and killed because of this vicious man. Some time later, this man wanted to become a Christian. God forgave him and accepted him, despite all of His children this man abused.

We cringe when we read stories like that one. It seems like God is way too compassionate. We sometimes just want evil, vile people to get what they deserve. To get what they have coming to them. But even though God is intensely (and rightly) angry at evil, He offers grace and forgiveness to sinners, even the people we would define in our eyes as the “worst” of sinners. God will forgive any sinner, no matter how awful, if they repent, accept Jesus’ payment on the cross for their sins, and follow Him. God is extravagantly merciful. He is beyond.

The man described in the intro is actually someone your possibly familiar with: Saul, or Paul as we know him. Read his story in Saul’s Conversion Acts 9:1-20

Some questions to ponder.

  • Is God to soft? – What use is it denouncing murderers if they can simply repent and God will show them mercy.
  • What kind of God would do such a thing? “Is He neither tame enough more tough enough?

God is outrageously merciful. His mercy pulls the weight of guilt out from under any sinner. As His children, He wants us to follow suit. When people wrong us, God calls us to be like Him, to drop it. To forgive. To pull the weight out from under our case against them. God can forgive whomever He chooses to forgive. And He has chosen to forgive anyone who accepts His offer of salvation. While that is sometimes tough to swallow, how can we question the very grace by which we ourselves were saved? guilty of sin, we are all closer to murderers than we are to Jesus. Yet we’ve been forgiven by the God who’s beyond what we can imagine.

Prayer :

Heavenly Father, thank You for forgiving me of my sins and accepting me into Your kingdom even though, at times still sin against You. I often ask for forgiveness, however I also need mercy. I love You and want to please You, Your Grace is more then sufficient for me, anything above that is truly a blessing from You Lord, because I don’t deserve it. In Jesus’ name Amen.

January 15th 2018 – When We Grieve the Holy Spirit?

“And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30)

When you spend time with God, you get to know His ways as well as His Word (assuming you are reading His Word). More than that, you develop sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. You eventually get to know His ways to the extent that you sense when you are about to grieve Him.

Have you ever wondered why the Holy Spirit was represented as a Flying White Dove when Jesus was Baptised it the Jordan river? see Matthew 3:16

I did a personal study last year and discovered this. Pigeons and Doves are in the same family, however they are not the same! You can train a pigeon; you cannot train a dove. The pigeon can be domesticated; the dove is a wild bird. A pigeon is belligerent; the dove is loving. A pigeon is boisterous; a dove is gentle. A pigeon will mate with more than one pigeon; the dove mates with only one dove for life.

I beleive that the pigeon represents the counterfeit spirit – strange fire. The dove represents the Holy Spirit Holy Fire. I reckon there are services where people imagine that the Holy Ghost came on the church, but when you get to the bottom of it, you discern it may be pigeon religion. Strange fire. Personally, I think it is an absolutely wonderful  experience when authentic Holy Spirit comes down in great measure in church, “Holy Fire”. Unfortantally it appears to be happening less and less because in the these times (the end times) the Holy Spirit is grieved.

It can be so easy to grieve the Spirit. For example, It happens when the church body is divided over the color of the carpet in the sanctuary, or It can even happen when people are on the way to church. They shout to each other as they drive into the parking lot. Then they worship as if nothing is wrong and wonder why there is no sense of God. It can happen as a minister prepares his sermon and he has not sought the Lord. It can happen at any moment.

The problem is, when we grieve Him,  we don’t always realize we did it! We may find out later. If you have walked with Jesus a long time and are in His word daily. You more then likely to sense the wings of the dove flapping and ready to fly off—and you stop yourself!

So, if you want to have a lively, real, unfeigned and constant relationship with God, His Son and the Holy Spirit, you must get to know God’s ways. One of the ways of the Holy Spirit is that He is sensitive—like a dove.

“Nothing is worth grieving the Holy Spirit.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to You Lord with a repentant heart for all the times I have greived You. Please cover me with Your Holy Spirit Lord and help guide me in Your ways Lord. Keep me from my fleshly self Lord. Help me continue to be in Your Holy Word so that I can recognize how to not do wrong, and correct me with Your  Spirit when I do. I Love you Lord…In Jesus’ prescious name. Amen.

January 13th 2018 – Strength In My Weakness and Storms

even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.  That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)

We don’t know what Paul’s “thorn in the flesh” was. Most commentators believe it was some kind of physical disability that he probably acquired after one of his multiple beatings or stonings. Whatever it was, the devil wanted to use it to get Paul down. And it worked. Paul got down on his knees and called on God. The devil wanted to drive Paul away from God, but instead the apostle seeked Him that much greater.

When we go through suffering and hardship, it can be so difficult at times. I have been dealing with a health issue this last year. Often there are times I don’t feel I can get up. But I do, I spend my time with the Lord every morning praising God, being in His presence before writing these devotions everyday. You want to know something, the fellowship I have had with God has never been sweeter. I have never been more dependent on Him. There are times I don’t think I can handle it, and then God gives me the strength that I need. And I have learned things that I would not have learned anywhere else. I don’t know the “why” of it all, but I trust God, cling to God, and rely on God.

Are you facing hardship and suffering today? Pour out your heart to God. He is trustworthy.

“Don’t try to face any situations of life without the Lord.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, It gets so hard trying to face the storms of life on our own especially when we feel weak. I need Your power and strength to face each one. Please continue to help and teach me to turn to You first. Help me learn to patiently endure the suffering and the hard times and honor You in the midst of them as I walk by faith. I lift up all of my troubles and faithfully trust in You Lord that you will guide us through the storms and calm the raging seas. In Jesus name, Amen
