June 19th 2017 – Stairway to Heaven

“I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago–whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows–such a one was caught up to the third heaven.” (2 Corinthians 12:2)

While there may be some debate on these verses in 2 Corinthians 12, in some Jewish writings, the third heaven is referred to as the abode of God. The first heaven is simply the skies, the clouds around earth or the atmosphere. The second heaven is the stars, the moon, and the sun in the universe. The third heaven is the spiritual and very real place that we usually refer to as Heaven, the abode of God.

Since Heaven does exist, the question remains, “How do I get there?” This Heaven cannot be reached by a spaceship other any other technology. The abode of God can only be reached through the person of Jesus Christ. It is through His loving sacrifice on the cross that we can be in right standing with God to enter into this most glorious place. To close, I must ask one more question, “Are you going to Heaven?” If you are unsure, then I encourage you to pray the prayer below, confessing your sin to God and trusting in Jesus’ death and resurrection for your salvation. There is only one way to Heaven, and it is through our faith in the One who created it.

“Humanity can only get to Heaven by Jesus.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I believe You died for me so that I could be forgiven. I believe You were raised from the dead so that I could have new life. I know I have done wrong things, and I’m sorry. Please forgive me and give me the power to follow You all the days of my life. Amen.

January 2nd 2016 – What if Tomorrow Never Comes

images-122

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,” (2 Peter 3:10-11)

What if I told you that tomorrow our world was coming to an end? What would become important to you? Would you seek to buy more stuff? Would you spend the time catching up on your favorite TV show? Most likely, you would spend time with those you love or even begin sharing Jesus with anyone you could find.

While it may not be tomorrow (even though it is possible), the bible shares with us that one day everything we know will change. There will be no more money to collect, or a career to build or earth to stand on. The only things that will remain are those things that are eternal. While money may be burned up, when we give money to the Lord now, it changes lives for eternity. On the same note, our careers may not last but when we witness to a co-worker, we have just helped form a relationship that will last forever. God has created us to be eternal beings. Our greatest purpose is to love God and enjoy Him forever. What’s great about that is that we don’t have to wait to fulfill that purpose. As we start loving God and loving others, we begin sowing into eternal things and forever changing our world.

As children of God we should live for the eternal not the temporal.

Prayer:

Dear God, I know that I was not created to simply occupy this world. You have greater things for me to do, things that will last for eternity. Open my eyes to opportunities to share Your love and grace with others so they can know about eternal life. Help me to look past this world so that I am inspired by the next. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Invitation:

Jesus Christ says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20)

The Bible promises eternal life to all who receive Christ: “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:11-13)

If you have not asked Jesus into your lifeYou can receive Jesus Christ right now by faith through prayer.

Prayer is just talking with God. He knows your heart, so don’t worry about getting your words just right. Here is a suggested prayer to guide you:

Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.

If you have done this, then congratulations! (Luke 15:7) says that when one sinner accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Saviour the angels rejoice. So there’s a party going on in heaven right now over your decision! Remember this date as your “second birthday,” the day you were born into a new life in Christ! You have God’s Word that he answered your prayer.

Please take a moment to contact me, I would love to pray with you personally for this wonderful new journey you are on..
