October 10th 2015 – Amazing Grace
“But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.” (Romans 5:15)
Here in Romans, Paul, by the Spirit of God, is going to show us the difference between Adam and Jesus. We’re going to see how great the work of Jesus Christ is and that even with the fall of the human race, what Jesus did was so much greater.
In this verse we see that the free gift that God gave to us, JESUS, is not like the fall of Adam. In fact, Paul goes right on to say that through Adam many die, but through the grace of our loving Father, His mercy and goodness abounds to many.
Now I don’t know about you but I am sure happy that God’s grace and not His judgment is abounding to me. You see when a person receives Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior, all of his sins are now washed away by the blood of the spotless Son of God. God doesn’t see us as poor old sinners but He see us as new creations in Christ. He sees us born again. In fact, this work of regeneration is so powerful that Almighty God doesn’t even remember your past sins.
Grace is God’s unmerited and undeserved favor. I didn’t deserve it but His great love for me and you, provided it. That is why throughout all eternity, it will be His grace that will flood our hearts. That’s why we can sing a song like Amazing Grace and it is fresh each day.
Prayer – Today we are going to use the lyrics
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me….
I once was lost but now am found, was blind, but now, I see.
T’was Grace that taught… my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear… the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares… we have already come.
T’was Grace that brought us safe thus far…and Grace will lead us home.
The Lord has promised good to me… His Word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be… as long as life endures.
When we’ve been here ten thousand years… bright shining as the sun.
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise… then when we’ve first begun.
(Amen)

October 9th 2015 – Give what we have
“Then Peter said, Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with themwalking, leaping, and praising God. (Acts 3:6-8)
Many times we try to give what we think others might need, but as we see in this story, Peter didn’t have any money on him, he had something better. He had the power of the Name of Jesus, and with that Name he was able to see a miracle happen.
So don’t always look for what you don’t have, look for what you do have. What’s that in your hand? You might say, well I don’t have a hundred dollars to give to the work of my church, but God will always say “what do you have?” If you’ve got five and you’re willing to give that with a cheerful heart, God sees it just like it was a hundred.
You might say, well I don’t have the time to help in the children or teen ministry. Yet maybe you can help on special events or once and a while. “Give What You Have” and give it from your heart. God our Father doesn’t look at the outside, He looks at the heart.
Do you remember the poor widow who gave the two pennies? She had so little but Jesus said she gave so much. Many try to say, so all I have to do is give a little like that poor widow did? Well, no! The scripture said she gave all that she had. So what do you have today? Give that and watch God give you such an increase that it will just amaze you.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Today, I give what I have and I give it from my heart. You were never looking for us to give what we don’t have, just to give what we do have. I have learned that as I give (not out of obligation, but wanting to give) more of my time, my talents, and my treasure, You God, always reward me with blessings much greater then what I freely gave to further Your Kingdom. You always amaze me Lord. Thank You for teaching me to give in this way..

October 8th 2015 – Cast your Troubles on the Lord
“Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22)
Ever go through a day or a week when you’re discouraged and it seems like nothing’s going right? Well, be of good cheer, you’re not the only one. When we look through the Bible we see many of the great men of faith having times of discouragement.
Moses had it right to the top of his head with the children of Israel, yet he got through it. Elijah, after his great victory on Mount Carmel, had to fight a great bout of depression when Jezebel said that she wanted to take his life. He said (1 Kings 19:4)”… And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my father’s!”
Here is this great man of God, who just had this great victory over the prophets of Baal, and one lady, Jezebel, so intimidates him that he wants to die.
And it can be the same with us, we forget what the Lord did yesterday and we look at today and see this problem or this situation and we get discouraged. But this verse tells us to “Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”
God will sustain us as we make a decision to give it over to Him. So today, try it. Give it to God. His shoulders are a lot bigger than yours and He is a loving and caring Father. Trust Him and He will see you through. Remember, He did it in the past and He will do it today and in the future.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I put my trust in You Lord and I know that today, You will get me through what I’m going through. Your living word has told me to cast my cares on You Alord and that’s what I’m going to do, trust and obey. Thank you for always being there do e me. I love and Praise You. In Jesus Holy Name, Amen

October 7th 2015 – Spiritual Warfare – Praying Always
“And pray in the Spirt on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With all this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:18)
The last part of this great armor that the Lord has given to us, is our prayer life. As we take time to pray each day it again, is a protection in our lives. It might not be one specifically mentioned as a piece of armor but it is still so important.
Here it says to pray always. In (1 Thessalonians 5:17) it says “Pray without ceasing”. Well you might say, how in the world do I do that? How do I go to work and all the other things I have to do in the course of a day and pray without stopping? What I believe these verses are saying is to have an attitude of prayer. There are so many types and ways to pray and we can use them throughout the day. Let me give you a few.
There is the prayer of praise and worship, the prayer of petition and supplication, the prayer of faith, and the prayer of intercession. There is the prayer of agreement and the prayer of commitment or casting our cares on the Lord. There is the prayer of praying in tongues and the prayer of dedication. These are just a few, but you can see that there are so many ways to pray.
During the day, you can say within you, “Father, I love You and I’m so glad I’m saved and on my way to heaven”. You can also have a time where the Holy Spirit will put someone on your heart and you can lift them up under your breath. You see prayer doesn’t have to be only when we’re alone and on our knees. We can use walks to pray or even when you’re driving. (Please keep your eyes open when you’re driving!)
So today, look for different ways and times that you can lift up different things to the Lord. Just watch, by the end of the day, how much time you spent in prayer.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Today I make a decision to pray without ceasing. As Your Holy Spirit directs me during the course of this day, I will lift up many things to you my Lord. I will stand strong in Your name for I am your child and you are my Father. Please shield our lives from the temptations of Sin, Help us to detect Satan’s schemes, resist them and give him no stronghold in our lives. I thank You for for saving me and always being there for mw. I love You and praise You. In Jesus’ precious and glorious name Amen..

October 6th 2015 – Spirtual Warfare – Shield of Faith
“above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” (Ephesians 6:16)
Our next piece of the armor of God is our shield of faith. This is such an important piece of armor that we need each and every day. You see the enemy is coming at us with fiery darts, and if we don’t have our shield held up, they will get through and can cause problems in our lives.
So what is this shield? The shield that God wants us to have each day is our strong faith. We see from the Word of God that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Our faith is such a major part of our Christian life. Over and over we see in the gospels that Jesus said it was faith that brought forth miracles.
And now that we see where faith comes from, we need to be in the Word and keeping our shield held high with the power of God. When the enemy comes against us with thought bombs like “you’re no good”,”nobody loves you”, you can hold your shield up high and say that, greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. When a thought bomb comes at you that says “God doesn’t accept you”, you can come right back with your shield lifted high and state that you are accepted in the Beloved.
When sickness comes against you, again you can hold your shield up high and quench that fiery dart of the enemy and state that by the stripes of Jesus you are healed. This is why it is so important to get the Word of God in us. Your shield that comes through faith, comes by the Word of God.
So today, go ahead and get your shield out. Make sure it is ready for battle by putting God’s Word on. Go ahead say it. Confess it over yourself and watch those fiery darts go out as they hit your shield.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, with your strengh and mighty powerful word, I have the shield of faith and it quenches all of the fiery darts of the wicked one. Today, I will keep my faith sharp by reading the Word of God. Please continue to walk with me and guide me Lord. We love you. In your precious name Amen

October 5th 2015 – Spiritual Footware
“and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” (Ephesians 6:15)
Our next piece of armor is for our feet. Here this verse says to have our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. The Gospel is GOOD NEWS. We are to proclaim this good news that Jesus gave us to share. Again, it is the Word of God that is good news.
Jesus said in (Luke 4:18-19) that “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”
Jesus brought out that the gospel was to heal the sick, help the poor, bring liberty to the captive and to proclaim God’s Year of Jubilee. The true Gospel of Jesus Christ must be a Gospel of good news. In this great Gospel we are to pray for the sick, preach God’s goodness to all mankind and tell others that Jesus is coming back.
Here in this verse it states that our feet are protected by having the Gospel of peace, and that is exactly what the message to the world is. Hey world! God’s not mad at us anymore. He has sent a Savior and His name is Jesus. As we remind ourselves that God has forgiven us and accepts us, it causes us to live a life of peace.
In (Romans 5:1) It says, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Do you see it? We have peace with God because of what Jesus did for us. His sacrifice on the cross has taken the wrath of God from every person that will accept this free gift.
So today, get those marching boots on. Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Proclaim that He is risen and that He has come to set us free. When you do, you will see this peace that He promises us.
Prayer
Jesus You are my peace. You have taken down the wall that separated me from the Father. I have peace with God today because of You Lord Jesus. I praise you for guiding my every footstep and for showing me the way to the kingdom of heaven. You paid the ultimate price for my ticket. I am so undeserving of it, but You are my father and You love me unconditional.
I love you Lord so very much. Thank you. In Your precious name. Amen.

October 4th 2015 – Spirtual Warfare – Belt of Truth
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, (Ephesians 6:13-14)
God wants us to take His armor so that we may be able to stand in the evil day. When is the evil day? Well, I would say it is today. So let’s get started by getting this armor on. There is an interesting statement here when it says, “having done all to stand, stand therefore”. This is an old military phrase that means after you have won a battle be ready to go into battle again. In other words, never let your guard down. Always be ready for the enemy to come at you.
Another piece of the armor that He talks about is to have our waist girded with truth. To do this I need to know what truth is and the Bible makes that very clear. Jesus said in (John 17:17) “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your Word is truth.” The Word of God is truth so to have on this piece of the armor I need to get His Word within me.
Each day as I wake up and get dressed, I need to get spiritually dressed also and the way I do this is to get His Word in my heart. I can do this in so many ways. I could read His Word or meditate on it. I can listen to it as I’m driving or let it roll in my mind while I’m still in bed. Whichever way works best for you, do it and let it become so real within you.
As you do this the truth of God’s Word will be on you to protect you. Here it says that it girds your waist. It holds the other pieces of the armor together and protects you from the arrows of the enemy. So today, get into the Word in whichever way is best for you and see His protection.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Today I have taken time to get Your Word within me and I know that I have girded my waist with Yourtruth. I am holding all of my armor together with His Word deep in my heart. We love and praise You. In your precious name, Amen.

October 3rd 2015 – Spirtual Armor – Breastplate of Righteousness
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness” (Ephesians 6:13-14)
Yesterday we looked at At the helmet of salvation. Today, let’s look at the next piece of our armor which is the breastplate of righteousness. The breastplate was the piece of armor that protected all of the vital organs. This piece of the armor protected the soldier’s heart, lungs, stomach, liver, etc. Without this piece of armor the soldier was open to a quick hit by a sword, arrow, or stone. But with his breastplate on, when the enemy brought an attack to his chest area, it would bounce off.
Now for us Christians, when we have on our breastplate we are protected from the enemy’s attack. So what is this piece of armor for us? It is the righteousness of Jesus. The Scripture states in (1 Corinthians 1:30) But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God–and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.
We know that once we ask Jesus into our heart we have this righteousness. God made Jesus sin for me so that I can be made righteous in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21) “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
Righteousness is the ability to stand in the presence of a Holy God and be accepted as if we have never sinned. Now remember, we have to put on our armor. Today, say out loud, Jesus you are my righteousness. Because of your blood, shed on the cross of Calvary, and because of your death and resurrection, I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
When the enemy comes against your heart and mind, fight him with what the truth of the Word declares. I am accepted by God, I am loved by God and all because of what Jesus did for me. What a great Savior we serve.

October 2nd 2015 – Spirtual Warfare – Helmet of Salvation
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God;” (Ephesians 6:17)
Get your head covered, it’s cold outside. How many remember your parents saying that to you? Well it is the same here. We need to get our heads covered. The enemy is always looking to get negative thoughts into our mind. He wants to bring doubt and unbelief. He knows that if he can get us to doubt God’s Word he can continually defeat us.
In this verse it tells us to take the “helmet of salvation”. Our salvation is the most powerful of all gifts that God has given to us. We are saved because of what Jesus did on the cross. (Don’t worry, our salvation can not be taken from us once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior, however satan will do everything he can to cause to doubt and beleive that we are worthless.) When Jesus’ disciples came back from preaching the Gospel they were all excited because of all the miracles that they had witnessed, yet Jesus gets them right on track again. Look here at (Luke 10:20) “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
Salvation is a gift from God and it comes to us by believing that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Salvation does not come through works or being good, it is freely given to anyone that will receive it. (Ephesians 2:8-9) “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
As you get spiritually dressed today, look to Jesus, and thank Him for this great salvation that He has given to you. Thank Him that you are heaven bound and that you will never go to hell because of all that He did on the cross. As you do this, remember the work of Calvary and His resurrection and let the helmet of salvation get on your head and protect you from the thought bombs of the enemy. When they do come, cast them down in Jesus’ name and receive the victory through Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, We praise You for your sacrifice on the cross so that I can be saved. Your sacrifice did not just save me, but all of mankind if they will only would beleive in you. I believe it with all of my heart and mind. Today, I put on the helmet of salvation and I cast down every thought and make it obey the Word of God. You are a wonderful and loving God and I love you with all of my heart. In your precious name, Amen
If you have not ever asked Jesus into you heart,; please consider how close we are to His return. Don’t miss out on all of His blessings, but also His guidance and protection. It was the greatest decision I every made. I could not ever imagine my life without Him.
