October 11th 2015 – Unity in the Church

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments.  It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the blessing” (Psalms 133:1-3)

Isn’t it wonderful when family and friends walk in unity?  Isn’t it wonderful when churches walk in unity? God sure sees it that way and it’s something that we can all work on a little harder.  Here we see this beautiful picture of Aaron, the high priest of the Lord, with the oil of the anointing running down his beard and then on to his garments.

Many people ask why we don’t see more of the power of God in the church or in our lives.  I believe that a big part of it is because so many people in the church don’t walk in unity.  In the book of Acts we see the words “one accord” mentioned more than ten times.  We also see so much power manifested in the book of Acts.

When Jesus was on earth He prayed to the Father that we would be one. I want to fulfill the words of Jesus, how about you?  I want to see the church operate like a smooth running machine.  I want to see the head, our Lord Jesus, give a command and we get right on board.  This takes unity.  This takes us putting ourselves down and lifting the other person up.

In the great love chapter of (1 Cor.13:7), Paul, by the Holy Spirit, said: “Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]”.

WOW!  Think of that!  Love believes, bears, hopes, is fadeless.  These are the words of the body of Christ.  So let’s do it today.  Let’s do it for our Jesus and see unity spread throughout the churches.

Heavenly Father, Starting today I let love flow from me and I will not let disunity rule in my life.  Sin will not control me so I will not let disunity control me.  I will chose to not let strife be a part of my life any longer. I will seek you in all things Lord. I thank you for the blessing of unity and pray that it sweeps across all of the church body. When we are united the enemy will have much difficulty trying to divide the church.

We love and praise You, In Jesus precious name, Amen

“Thank You Father for Your call to ONENESS in Christ. He is our Head, and we are One in body, One in Spirit, and there is only One God, Your Son Jesus. Fill us overflowing with Your Love for Him in us in His Precious Name with pray. Amen.”

If we don’t have “UNITY” then there must be strife…

STRIFE IS A KILLER. The devil knows that envy and strife destroy relationships and long-term friendships. He is aware that if he can create envy and strife between you and the ones you love, he can ruin those special relationships that God intended to be a blessing in your life. Do you have any relationships in your life right now that are under this kind of demonic assault?

The devil doesn’t just target relationships or friendships with this type of assault. He also knows how to get in between you and your church family, a ministry you love and support, or even the organization or place of business where you work. The enemy doesn’t care whom he divides – he simply wants to divide!

Since envy and strife are some of the tools he uses to do this, it is crucial that you understand how to recognize envy and strife and how to stand against them!

YOU DON’T HAVE TO YIELD TO ENVY AND STRIFE! When the opportunity for strife arises, you can beat Satan at his own game by choosing to make room for the ideas, thoughts, and opinions of others. Even if you don’t agree with what they say, at least you can demonstrate that you value their right to have a differing opinion. By maintaining an attitude of staying on the same side with your fellow believers, you can put the devil on the run and keep your relationships alive, healthy, and long lasting!

    (Versus of Unity)

    Galatians 3:26-28

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

    Ephesians 2:17-19

And he came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household.
