“you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 2:5)
Churches come in all shapes and sizes. Some are traditional buildings with steeples and stained glass. Other churches may have been formed out of vacant warehouses or grocery stores. While we may see many types of church buildings, we must always remember that the biblical church is not a building at all; it’s the people of God. That is why we created this web based ministry. We wanted to be a stepping stone to people that are technology savvy, but may not be able to or not ready to walk through the doors of a church building. Throughout the last three years we have been amazed how far God has used this ministry to reach.
The Greek word for church is “ekklesia” which means, “called out”. This is used to refer to the church of God as people who have been called out of the world to love and serve Jesus Christ. We have been born again into this amazing family of believers who care for one another despite our differences. In reality, the church is not something that we get to define, but it is a family set up by God for His purpose. We may meet in local buildings all over the world, but we are united under the name of Jesus Christ. He is our foundation, He is our Lord.
“The church is NOT a place; it’s a people.”
Dear God, Thank You for the church. I know that You have given us the church for our good. Help me to love my brothers and sisters in Christ, even when we may disagree. May we always keep our eye on You. Give us unity so that we can show God’s love to a world in desperate need of it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Is Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life? Did you once follow Him but are not living your life the way you should? Don’t miss out on the most important decision you will ever make.
Pray this prayer with me and start a new life, or recommit to to Jesus.
Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me!
In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
