December 5th 2015 – Dying To Self

“For I swear, dear brothers and sisters, that I face death daily. This is as certain as my pride in what Christ Jesus our Lord has done in you.” (1 Corinthians 15:31)

When Paul wrote this verse, it very well could be that he was facing the possibility of physical death. The hatred towards the Truth had led many believers to be fed to lions and crucified because of their faith in Jesus alone. While most of us may never see that kind of persecution, there is a death we must face on a daily basis – the death of our sinful nature.

(Romans 8:13) “For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.”

While the world may look at us strangely when we talk about dying to ourselves, it is an important part of following Christ. It is not a physical death but rather the death of our sin and our selfishness. If we desire to do something contrary to God’s Word we willfully stop and instead seek to walk in obedience. As we choose to obey God despite ourselves, we are dying to our will and surrendering to God’s. Now, just so you know, it isn’t always easy. Our sinful nature desires nothing more than to rebel against God, but because of Jesus, we have the power to choose what is right and to walk in His light. As we do, we’ll find ourselves no longer living for ourselves but living for our Lord… and friend, there is no greater life than that.

The more we die to ourselves, the more we can live for Jesus.

Heavenly Father, You are so good to me and have shown me such great love. Because of Your love and what Jesus did for me, I desire to live for You. Fill me with Your spirit and give me the power to do what is right. Help me to die to myself every day. May my life be a reflection of You for all the world to see. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Do you know Jesus personally? That is the ultimate decision you will have to make. Jesus died on the cross for you and me. He loves us and wants to help us. If you have not asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior please click here 4 Simple Steps to Jesus Your life will never be the same…

On Skull Mountain they killed three men. The one in the middle was the Messiah YESHUA-JESUS, Savior of mankind; the completely innocent one!!! On his right and left sides where two rightly judged Persons, completely found guilty of their wrongs against God and their fellow men and women, and rightly sentence to the maximum penalty–DEATH- ‘FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH’.
Now the two represent unrepentant man, and absolutely surrendered mankind. The first convicted one said, ” IF- you are the Christ-Messiah (Anointed ONE), save Yourself and us—( take us off this cross—circumstance —death–and let us go free without consequences). But the other one, answering, corrected him saying,’ Don’t you fear God ? Seeing we are under the same righteous judgement, and we are indeed guilty of our wrongs.’ Then he said to YESHUA-JESUS, ‘ Lord, remember mewhen you come into Your Kingdom.’ And YESHUA-JESUS said to him, ‘ Truly, I say to you, today you will be with ME in Paridise (Heaven).’
The first man only wanted an escape from his guilt and not pay for his consequences of law-less-ness, the easy way out. The other convict knew he was guilty before God and man, and asked to not escape the penalty of conviction-death to his own sin nature, but to believe in YESHUA-JESUS and ask for his Mercy in Him just remembering the absolute surrendered one in Heaven.
For a True Christian there is only “1” way to Heaven, that is the DOORWAY through the CROSS of YESHUA-JESUS, with all my sinful self hanging, with all my guilt and shame, with HIM on His CROSS OF Death, and by His Mercy, and Blood, He will bring us home to Himself in Heaven. We fear (HIS POWER over the second death–He is The Righteous Eternal ONE-Judge) God, and not what man or our enemy satan does and we are not running or escaping from our guilty wrongs, we admit them and asked for forgiveness of God, and of man; where possible.
    “Thank You Lord Jesus.” Amen.
