November 30th 2015 – Are you a Prophet?

“Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me:”Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.” (Jeremiah 1:9-10)

If I were to call you a prophet, what would you say? Your mind may begin thinking of flowing robes, long beards and lots of yelling. While some of the elements may have been part of the life of an ancient prophet, the key aspect of a prophet was that they spoke God’s Word to the people. They were simply a vessel for the eternal Words of God.

The same is true today for you and me. As followers of Christ, we place our life and hope on the bible which contains the very words of God. Since this is the case, when we speak about God or share the Truths from the pages of His Word, we are walking in a prophetic gift. Every friend you encourage with Scripture, every witness encounter that points people to the cross and an empty tomb is an act of prophetic power. How will you use that power today? Maybe it’s forwarding this email to a friend or reading the Bible to your children. Whatever the case may be, look for an opportunity to be a Jeremiah and proclaim God’s love and grace to a world in need of it.

When we rightly proclaim the Truths of God’s Word, we are walking in prophetic power.

Prayer:

Dear God, Thank You for the gift of the Bible and the life-changing Truth found inside. Give me the wisdom and boldness to speak Your Word in love. Help me to live like the prophets of old, with a burden to share Your message with the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen

When we speak the TRUTH in Love, we are always speaking in the here/now, and into the future, as God does not change and is eternal, and we live in time ,which is in constant change.
What then should we base our life on, “the sand of change”, or” the foundation of Eternal Truth of God and His WORD”. The choice is yours, you will chose Jesus, won’t you?

    Mark 16:15
And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

    1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
