December 31st 2019 – What If Tomorrow Was The End

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,” (2 Peter 3:10-11)

What if I told you that tomorrow our world was coming to an end. What would become important to you? Would you seek to buy more stuff? Would you spend the time catching up on your favorite TV show? Most likely, you would spend time with those you love or even begin sharing Jesus with anyone you could find.

While it may not be tomorrow (even though it is possible), the bible shares with us that one day everything we know will change. There will be no more money to collect, or a career to build or earth to stand on. The only things that will remain are those things that are eternal.

While money may someday be burned up, when we give money to the Lord, it changes lives for eternity. On the same note, our careers will not last forever, but when we take the time to witness to a co-worker, we have just helped form a relationship that will last forever. God has created us to be eternal beings. Our greatest purpose is to love God and enjoy Him forever. What’s great about that is that we don’t have to wait to fulfill that purpose. As we start loving God and loving others, we begin sowing into eternal things and forever changing our world.

“As children of God we should live for the eternal not the temporal.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I know that I was not created to simply occupy this world. You have greater things for me to do, things that will last for eternity. Open my eyes to opportunities to share Your love and grace with others so they can know about eternal life. Help me to look past this world so that I am inspired by the next. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you have never accepted Gods grace you will never experience true peace in your life. Please read below, or  Click Here to learn how and what it means to ask Jeaus into your life . Don’t wait until its too late.

Jesus Christ says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20)

The Bible promises eternal life to all who receive Christ: “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:11-13)

If you have not asked Jesus into your lifeYou can receive Jesus Christ right now by faith through prayer.

Prayer is just talking with God. He knows your heart, so don’t worry about getting your words just right. Here is a suggested prayer to guide you:

Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.

If you have done this, then congratulations! (Luke 15:7) says that when one sinner accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Saviour the angels rejoice. So there’s a party going on in heaven right now over your decision! Remember this date as your “second birthday,” the day you were born into a new life in Christ! You have God’s Word that he answered your prayer.

Please take a moment to contact me, I would love to pray with you personally for this wonderful new journey you are on..

December 30th 2019 – Without Love, It’s Just Religious Noise

“For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.” (1 Corinthians 12:12)

Can you imagine the chaos that would occur if your body decided to attack itself? What if your arm was mad at your foot for not saying “hi” in the hallway, or your liver decided to quit simply because it was jealous of the mouth? While it may seem ridiculous to imagine, this sad scenario now occurs every week in churches all over the world. The body of Christ, formed to demonstrate the love and forgiveness of Jesus, turns on itself out of selfishness and pride. Friend, it doesn’t need to be this way, and it shouldn’t be this way. Paul writes…

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” (1 Corinthians 13)

This chapter is dedicated to promoting love as the ultimate spiritual fruit. Do you prophesy and understand great mysteries? Great, but do you love? Are you able to speak with tongues of angels? Awesome, but do you love? You see, no matter what gift we are given, if we are not acting in love towards one another, we are nothing more than just religious noise. Instead of useless noise, let’s sing out a sweet song of forgiveness and love. That is a tune sure to impact the world for Christ.

“No matter how gifted we are or what our giftings are, if we don’t have love, we are just religious noise.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the spiritual gifts You have given me and those around me. Father, in this new year help us to use those gifts for Your glory and not our own selfish gain. Teach us to love like You love. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that our love for one another will cause the world to take notice and turn to You. In Jesus name, Amen.

If you do not know Jesus personally, Start the new year off right with the Saviour as your guide. I encourage you not to pass up the precious gift of His love and eternal life. Jesus died on the cross for you and me. He loves us and wants to help us. If you have not asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior please click here 4 Simple Steps to Jesus.

December 29th 2019 – Walk in Peace

“Forward to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”(Romans 8:6)

Who or what is controlling your life? To be carnally minded (self-centered) is death. To be spiritually minded (Christ-centered) is life and peace. According to Romans 8, when you are out of rest, you are not in the Spirit. Do you have peace? If you do not have peace, do not blame it on the world or others; the blame lies with you. When you surrender to God, you do not have to surrender to your flesh. Live the Spirit-led life and you will live according to God’s will and in God’s power.

Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!” (John 13:8-9)

Life, in its fullest, comes through being led by the Lord. Fellowship is broken with God when you sin. You are still His child, but sin is in the way. Confess your sin to Jesus and let Him wash you clean. Then, you will be able to enjoy His presence.

What are you living for? Your reason for living should be set apart from the rest of the world. If you live for the riches of the world, you may be alive in the body, but you are dead in your spirit. Live for God! As an heir to the riches in Christ, you will enjoy the fullness of joy that comes through walking in the calling of God.

“The way to walk in peace is to be spiritually and heavenly minded.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the awesome riches You have given me through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Please give me wisdom and discernment as I seek to follow after You. I want to walk in the joy and peace You have given me. Set me apart to do Your will for my life and help me to live a surrendered, Spirit-filled life. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

December 28th 2019 – Obedience, Our Gift To God

When the LORD began to speak by Hosea, the LORD said to Hosea: “Go; take yourself a wife of harlotry and children of harlotry, for the land has committed great harlotry By departing from the LORD.”(Hosea 1:2)

We often hear Christians say things like, “The Lord just wants me to be happy” or “God wouldn’t ask me to do anything that I can’t handle.” The truth is that God often asks His people to do what seems impossible. Hosea was told by God to take a wife that would cause him much pain. Abraham was told to sacrifice his only son, whom he called (laughter) and loved dearly. Mary, who was called most blessed among women, was required to stand by and watch her son die on the cross. These three, and many others in the Bible, were asked by God to do what we would think impossible for them; things that would bring pain and suffering. They had different circumstances, and different struggles, but the one thing they shared was obedience.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” (Matthew 16:24-25)

Jesus went through incredible suffering and pain to free us from the bondage of sin. He did not die just so we could be happy. He did not give His life so that we could simply pursue our own selfish desires. He died to set us free and to give us the model of how to live free. He taught the disciples through His Word and led by example that our calling is to lay down our own lives for the sake of others.

Sometimes God ask of us to do something that we may not know how to do, or afraid of committing to. Step out in true obedience and the Holy Spirit will help you through it.

“Following Christ can be hard at times, but it’s the least we can offer Him for the price He paid.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me so much that You were willing to die a horrible death and suffer the humiliation of my sins. Lord, I choose to follow You, wherever You lead me, because I love You. Jesus, help me to walk in obedience. Give me Your strength, power and love so that I can willingly lay down my life for others. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I can show the love of Jesus to those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

December 27th 2019 -Peace Be With You, May You Be Well

“Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” (John 20:19)

“So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:21)

“and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

The issue of peace seems to be very important to God. Real peace is more than just the ‘absence of war’. Real peace is Shalom (shal-lom) – a Hebrew word meaning justice, prosperity, good fellowship and health … a blessed and fulfilled life by the gracious hand of God. People the world over strive and churn hunting for emotional peace, financial peace or spiritual peace. We spend so much energy trying to find something God wants to give us for free.

How about you, do you have shalom? What does it take to ‘derail’ your peace? A small thing, a big thing or do you have the peace of God that stays with you even in the most trying situations? That is the peace God offers, a peace that surpasses all understanding. In other words, even in the midst of trial or temptation, when you shouldn’t have peace, you have it. What a gift from God. Turn off the TV, cell phone, log off of the internet and spend a few minutes with the God that offers you more lasting peace than anyone or anything else. In that time, may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you His peace. Shalom Aleichem means “may you be well”, so Shalom Aleichem to you, my friend.

“We can have peace with God.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your peace which allows me to press forward in Your call even when the days appear fearsome. Lord, please forgive me for times when I have wandered from Your peace or allowed circumstances to rule over me. I am Your child and as such I have no person, place or thing to fear. Give me the power to live for You in every moment of my life. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

December 26th 2019 – Honor One Another

“Honor widows who are really widows.”(1 Timothy 5:3)

Throughout the Bible we are called upon to honor those around us. In Exodus we are called to honor our mother and father. In the book of Leviticus, God calls us to honor the elderly. Into the New Testament we are commanded to honor our spiritual leaders as well as widows. To honor someone is to place them in a high place, to see them as important. In short, to honor someone is to place more significance on them than on ourselves.

“Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;” (Romans 12:10)

What if we all lived lives dedicated to honoring one another? The battles over minor differences would disappear as we seek out the best interest of the other person. The fight to be noticed or to gain power would be erased from even the church as we rejoice with those around us rather than see them as enemies or competition. This is exactly what Jesus did. In Philippians chapter 2 we see an image of Jesus stepping out of heaven for us. While we are not worthy of anything, He left His throne so that we could be forgiven. If we live as our Savior did, a servant to others, we will honor each other and the world will never be the same.

“To honor someone is to place a value upon them that supercedes the focus on ‘self’.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Today I thank You for the love and grace that You have shown me. Help me to show the same love and grace towards those around me. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I can honor them. Whether it’s through kind words, generous gifts or diligent work; give me the strength to live like Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

December 25th 2019 – The Real Purpose of Christmas

Merry Christmas from Scriptural Seeds Ministries.

“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:1)

The Christmas season is always a busy time of year for almost everyone. For us as Christians, it’s a joyful celebration of the birth of Jesus. We marvel at the fact that God humbled Himself and was born in a barn. But why did He come?

First, Jesus Christ came to proclaim good news to the spiritually hurting, to preach the good news to us.

He came to heal the broken-hearted. Isnt it interesting that with all the advancements in medical science, they found ways to reduce and even remove pain. But there is pain relief or cure for a broken heart.

Jesus came to set people free who are bound by sin. Jesus came to open our spiritual eyes to our spiritual need.

He came to lift up those who have been crushed by life. He came to give us abundant life. Jesus came to lift us from the physical realm of the senses to the spiritual realm to show us that there is more to life.

He came to give His life for us. Jesus said, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). He came to die.

On this evening over 2000 years ago ,Jesus Christ came to this earth for you and me. So we can come to Him to give our lives purpose and meaning, to forgive us of our sins, and to give us the hope of Heaven beyond the grave. Christmas is not about trees and flashing lights or shopping and presents. Christmas is not about the gifts under the tree. Rather, Christmas is about the gift that was given on the tree when Christ died there for our sins and gave us the gift of eternal life.

“Jesus Christ came to this earth to seek and save those of us who are lost, just as a shepherd seeks a lost sheep.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me so much. Thank You that You would leave heaven to come, suffer and die for me. You are the Gift of all Gifts. Sometimes I have neglected the gift that You gave, forgive me. Lord, I have been blessed by You. Thank You for Your incredible plan for my salvation. I will continue to give all of my life to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Salvation is a gift from God, not a reward.

Ask God for your Gift!

Eternal Salvation is a gift from God that will enable you to spend eternity in Heaven. To receive this gift, you need to accept Christ into your life by confessing with your mouth,  a prayer of salvation. You must also repent and turn away from your sins and begin living a life that is pleasing to God. If you feel you have done too many bad things for God to forgive you, you are wrong. Jesus died a brutal death on the cross for the sins of all mankind.

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

Whether you are old or young, rich or poor, a liar, a thief, an adulterer, a murder and so on, if you truly repent with a sincere heart and accept Jesus, YOU WILL BE SAVED…. Say a Prayer of Salvation & Ask Jesus Into Your Heart Now!

“Heavenly Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

December 24th 2019 – Glory To God In The Highest

“Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:8-14)

Can you imagine being there on that day?  Here these shepherds were minding their own business, when all of a sudden these beautiful angels appeared to them and spoke these words to them, and to us: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:8-14)

God’s heart for us is peace and goodwill.  God desires our hearts to be full of goodwill, and full of peace.  God is not into bringing torment to us.  He gave us a Savior, Jesus Christ!  God, the Father, loves us so much that while we were still lost and in our sins, Jesus came and set us free!  Jesus did not come to hurt us or knock us down.  He came to lift us up, and to empower us to do great things!  Jesus said that He came to seek and to save those that were lost.

As we wrap up the year and get ready for 2020,  make a decision not to get caught up with all the stuff of this world. Get caught up in in Jesus, let His love and goodness get all over you.  See how much He loves you, by hearing these words that the angels spoke to the shepherds on that day so many years ago: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”  Enjoy Him, because He wants to enjoy you!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, This Christmas, help me not get caught up in the stuff and caos of society, help me get caught up with You Lord “My Father”.  I am going to enjoy You, and thank You for all You have done for me.  You gift of love and salvation is the greatest gift I could ever receive. Thank you for my friends and family.Continue to me with Your Spirit and use my life to share God’s peace with the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

December 23rd 2019 – Pathway of Life

“And if Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear; for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do.” (1 Corinthians 16:10)

Every person who has ever lived has faced difficult decisions. Some decisions were very obvious while others were not. For those of us who are following Christ, we have a great resource for making decisions. This resource comes through the relationship we have with Jesus. Through His Word and the direction of His Spirit, we are better equipped to walk down the path He desires for us. We can trust the path because He is leading us and loves us, even when the path gets hard.

“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11)

So how do we go about seeking the path God desires for us? First, we need to know God’s Word. As we read His Word, we will be able to understand God’s guidelines and promises. These will help guide our steps. In those moments where we are unsure, we should seek godly counsel as well as pray for the Holy Spirit’s help in discerning where next to step. Finally, we step out in faith, trusting our Lord who is able to help us along the way. When we trip and fall, God’s grace is there to catch us. When we face an obstacle, His strength will help us overcome. When we finally reach our destination, He will personally usher us into His presence. This is the promise we have in Jesus.

“God will direct our footsteps as we listen to Him and trust Him.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I am so thankful for Your guiding hand. Not only have You forgiven me of my sins, but You are involved in the details of my life and desire to lead me every day. Lord, help me to be sensitive to Your Spirit and knowledgeable of Your Word so that I will make wise decisions. In Jesus name, Amen.

December 22nd 2019 – The Secret of Encouragement

“Then fourteen years later I went back to Jerusalem again, this time with Barnabas; and Titus came along, too.” (Galatians 2:1)

In the beginning of Paul’s journey, he had a special assistant in the Lord’s work. This man was important to Paul for many reasons, but I believe the most important reason is found in the name of this godly helper. His name was Barnabas and his name means “son of encouragement”. As Paul faced long roads, strange places and hostile people, Barnabas was there to encourage him. Even today, you may find yourself saying,  “I need encouragement.” To that I would ask, “Are you always seeking out encouragement for yourself or are you giving more and more encouragement to others?”

That is the secret to encouragement. If you want to be encouraged then be encouraging! If you are always needing encouragement, something is out of balance. By encouraging others, you become more aware of what is going on around you rather than to you. When you learn to encourage others, you will learn how to encourage yourself.

Try it today. Find someone and encourage them. You’ll find that there is great joy in being a Barnabas for someone else.

“We should seek to encourage others more.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the encouragement I can find in Your Word. I pray that You would help me to be an encourager to someone today. Help me show the love of God by passing along a joyful heart. Thank you for encouraging me when I tend to want to give up or figure things out in my own reasoning. Help me to remain obedient, faithful, and filled with Your Spirit to lead, guide and direct me in all things.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Dont know Jesus? I encourage you not to pass up the precious gift of His love and eternal life. Jesus died on the cross for you and me. He loves us and wants to help us. If you have not asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior please click here 4 Simple Steps to Jesus
