October 22nd 2025 – Devine Attention

Scripture Reading:

“Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town. There was a man there named Zacchaeus. He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich. He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd.” (Luke 19:1-2)

Reflection:

In society, where success is often measured by wealth, status, and popularity, Zacchaeus might be seen as a failure. He was short in stature, despised for his role as a tax collector, and filled with self-loathing for the way he had lived his life. Despite his riches and position, he was isolated and lonely.

However, everything changed for Zacchaeus when Jesus came to town. He desperately wanted to see Jesus but found himself blocked by the crowd. So, he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to catch a glimpse.

“When Jesus came by, He looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. ‘Zacchaeus!’ he said. ‘Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.’” (Luke 19:5)

Imagine the shock and joy Zacchaeus felt at that moment. Here was Jesus, the one everyone was talking about, stopping and looking directly at him, recognizing him amidst the crowd. It was a moment of profound connection and affirmation.

Just as Jesus noticed Zacchaeus, He notices you. No matter where you find yourself in life—feeling stuck, alone, or overlooked—God knows your location, your struggles, and your heart. You might feel like you’re perched in a tree, trying to see the world around you, but remember, you are never out of God’s sight.

God sees your pain, your efforts, and the tears you’ve shed. In every moment, He is aware of your struggles and joys.

“What is the price of five sparrows, two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” – Luke 12:6-7

Application:

The greatest gift we can offer one another is our attention. When we take the time to truly listen and engage with someone, we communicate their worth. Reach out to those you care about. Make a call, send a text, or visit someone who might be feeling alone. Remind them they matter.

“Even in a crowd, I am seen and valued; God knows my name and calls me to a deeper connection.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for always noticing me, even when I feel insignificant or alone. In moments of doubt and loneliness, remind me of Your unwavering love and presence in my life. I come to You today with an open heart, longing for Your guidance and strength. Help me to recognize the value You place on me, even when the world tells me otherwise.

Lord, I ask for Your grace to fill my heart, allowing me to let go of any feelings of unworthiness or shame. May I find comfort in knowing that I am seen and cherished by You. Teach me to extend that same love and attention to those around me, especially to those who may feel overlooked or forgotten.

I pray for opportunities to connect with my loved ones, to reach out to those who may be struggling, and to make amends where needed. Let my words and actions reflect Your love and compassion, reminding others that they matter deeply. Please guide me in my interactions, helping me to be a light in someone’s life. May I be quick to listen and slow to judge, showing kindness and understanding to everyone I encounter. Thank You for the gift of Your presence and the promise that You are always with me. I trust You with my journey and my heart, and I desire to glorify Your name in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

November 28th 2019 – Happy Thanksgiving

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” (Psalm 107:1)

Today we celebrate  Thanksgiving Day. Many don’t now that it is really very spiritual in its origins. In 1789 the United States 1st President George Washington declared Thanksgiving as a national day for giving thanks to God.

In the midst of all our feasting, it is easy to forget about the one we are celebrating. Sometimes we have no gratitude and forget to give thanks altogether.

Many will say things like, “What do have to be thankful for? My life is a mess, or my spouse has left me, or I lost my job. Maybe my children never call me, or I don’t have any friends.”

That is the ultimate test of the depth of your faith. Can you thank God when life stinks? When you’re going through tough times, don’t look at what’s lost. Look at what’s left, and be grateful for it!

Practice an “Attitude of Gratitude” because it develops your faith. How does gratitude develop my faith? It happens when times are tough — when things don’t make sense, when you can’t figure it out, when your prayers are unanswered, when everything is going the way you didn’t want it to go.

“Sink your roots in him and build on him. Be strengthened by the faith that you were taught, and overflow with thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:7)

Faith development happens when you can say in those circumstances, “God, I know you’re in control. I know you love me, and I know you can bring good out of this. I’m thankful that you’re bigger than my problem.”

“Thankfulness and Gratitude changes everything!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, You know the times I have been ungrateful, held ill thoughts toward You and my fellow humans. You know the times I complain and grumble about life and its circumstances, about suffering, going through endless trials and tribulations. I am greatful that You God are and always will be there with me, even when it seems like I am forever in the wilderness, running further and further from You, You, my God are there guiding me back to Your loving arms. I am thankful Lord for everything that You allow to cross my path. Thankful for the decisions that You allow me to make and the lessons that come from these decisions.
I’m thankful, Lord, that I do not have to live under condemnation anymore, that You have truly set me free, that I am a new creation. Thankful Lord that You have given me joy unspeakable. Thankful Lord that You are longsuffering, allowing me to mature in You!  Lord, words do not express my thankfulness. For Your mighty power is at work in me, transforming me, renewing my mind. To You Lord belong thanks eternal. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

November 24th 2017 – Thanksgiving and Gratitude

November 23 2017 – Thanksgiving – Love Offering to God

Today’s Devotion written by Pastor Roy T Squyres

“THANKSGIVING” Love Offering to GOD

“Therefore, by The HOLY SPIRIT, let us continually offer the gift of our praise to GOD, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving loving thanks to the LORD JESUS CHRIST.”(Hebrews 13:15—paraphrased-rts)

The Dictionary defines THANKSGIVING:
“an expression of loving gratitude, especially to GOD.”

In the United States, Canada, and much of the world, Thanksgiving is a Holiday commemorating a festival of Harvest Blessing, that we may remember to be thankful for what we have, and what we have received, and to express our gratitude to GOD for HIS Bountiful Provisions.

King David, in 1 Chronicles 16: 4 & 34, gave to GOD offerings to commemorate, thank, and praise HIM, and said, ” Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for HE is GOOD! For HIS Mercy is EVERLASTING.”

Furthermore in Ephesians 5:20, the Apostle Paul encourages Christians to ” give thanks always for all things, to GOD the FATHER, in the Name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.”

May we, as the family of GOD, during this Harvest Season the world over, take a moment, and lovingly offer to our GOD a hearty spirit filled “Thank YOU HEAVENLY FATHER for sending YOUR SON JESUS, and the many Blessings YOU have given us this year!”

And perhaps you will give a moment in time, and express your gratitude to our Father and the LORD JESUS by writing down a blessing HE has given you and/or your loved ones.

As “The HOLY SPIRIT brings all things to your remembrance.”It is a true action of Faith, to acknowledge JESUS’ LORDSHIP of our lives, and GOD is very “Well Pleased” with our love offerings.

Maybe you will join us in the 1st Scriptural Seeds Thanksgiving List”, as we all “count our blessings, one by one.” You are our blessing, and are invited to participate in an even greater one, if you will, to write and forward to, and through, Scriptural Seeds Ministries, and to the world, a short testimonial of your most memorable Blessing JESUS gave to you this year, and post it in our Prayer-Praise request, our comment box, and even hitting “Liked by you”. It will be a Witness to the un-saved world of HIS LOVE, and Light up our loving gratitude for our LORD and SAVIOR—a BEACON LIGHT in a lost dark world.

May our LORD JESUS ANEW HIS BLESSINGS on you and your loved ones, even more Fruitfully this coming year.

Happy, Loving Thanksgiving Church Family
