July 21st 2025 – Tapestry of Truth

“Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,” (Ezra 1:1)

Throughout the Bible, we encounter incredible precision in historical accounts. Even more astonishing is the prophetic nature of many of these events, revealed long before they came to pass. In the passage above, we see how God moved the heart of King Cyrus to aid His people, Israel. This is not just a noteworthy fact; it illustrates the divine blueprint God had in place long before Cyrus ascended to the throne.

As noted in Isaiah 44:28, “Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd, And he shall perform all My pleasure,’ Saying to Jerusalem, ‘You shall be built, And the temple, ‘Your foundation shall be laid.’” Here, God spoke of Cyrus centuries in advance, affirming His sovereignty and the unfolding of His plan.

The accuracy of God’s Word is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Despite attempts by some to undermine the Bible, it stands firm as 100% reliable in both its historical narratives and prophetic revelations. We can place our trust entirely in it. There is no other book quite like the Bible, and there never will be.

Why does this matter? Because if the Bible is indeed flawless and it proclaims our identity as cherished children of God, then we have a steadfast anchor to hold onto, regardless of life’s challenges and uncertainties.

“God’s Word is a timeless promise, weaving history and prophecy into a tapestry of love, reminding us that we are cherished and guided by His eternal plan.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Your Word is truly remarkable and a constant source of inspiration. Thank You for revealing Your great love and the gift of salvation we find through Jesus Christ. Your promises, woven throughout the Scriptures, remind us of Your faithfulness and the divine plan You have for each of us. Help me to hold tightly to these important truths, allowing them to guide my life and strengthen my faith. Empower me to share Your love and the hope found in Your Word with those around me. May Your teachings illuminate my path as I seek to grow closer to You each day. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

May 23rd 2025 – The Gift of Prophecy

“But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging, and comfort.” (1 Corinthians 14:3)

Prophecy is often viewed as a mysterious and sometimes daunting aspect of our faith. Many wonder about its relevance in today’s world and whether it is still a gift bestowed upon believers. In the New Testament, prophecy is described as a gift of the Holy Spirit, meant to build up the church and provide guidance.

The essence of prophecy goes beyond foretelling the future; it is about speaking God’s truth into the lives of individuals and communities. Prophets in the Bible, such as Isaiah and Jeremiah, were called to deliver messages that often brought both conviction and hope. Today, we too can be vessels of God’s message, offering encouragement, guidance, and comfort to those around us.

In a world filled with uncertainty and confusion, the prophetic voice can shine brightly, reminding us of God’s promises and faithfulness. When we allow the Holy Spirit to work through us, we can speak life into situations that seem hopeless and remind others of God’s unfailing love.

Take a moment to reflect on your own life. Are there areas where you feel prompted to share a word of encouragement or truth? Pray for discernment, and ask God to guide your heart in being a messenger of His love and hope. Consider keeping a journal of moments where you feel God has spoken to you or through you, recognizing the power of prophecy in your life and the lives of others.

“By speaking God’s truth, we can uplift others, guiding them through difficult times and reminding them of His unwavering love.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of prophecy and the ability to hear Your voice. Help me to be sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, that I may share Your truth with those who need it most. May my words bring strength, encouragement, and comfort to others, and may I always seek to glorify You in all that I say. Teach me to listen intently and respond faithfully to Your calling. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

August 10th 2018 -Timepiece of God

“A period of seventy sets of seven has been decreed for your people and your holy city to finish their rebellion, to put an end to their sin, to atone for their guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to confirm the prophetic vision, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.” (Daniel 9:24)

Daniel is seeking God based on a biblical promise concerning Israel’s captivity coming to an end (Daniel 9:1-3). God answered Daniel with a vision of what was coming to the nation of Israel in the future, specifically as it relates to 70 sets of 7 years laid out for the Jewish people. These prophesies include the the very date Messiah would enter Jerusalem. Sir Robert Anderson calculated this time of Messiah based on the numbers in Daniel 9:24-27 as exactly 173,880 days from March 14, 445 BC to April 6, 32AD. At that time, before entering Jerusalem on a donkey, (predicted in Zechariah 9:9) Jesus said this:

(Luke 19:41-42) “Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.”

Jesus lamented that the Jews, who had a clear prediction from Daniel hundreds of years earlier about His coming, didn’t understand that.

Have you ever missed God’s timing on issues in your life? God often has a clear word about our family, work, struggles, hopes, and dreams laid out in His word. Are we in a place of fellowship to listen to it? Are we genuinely seeking wise counsel from the Lord concerning His word in our lives? Have we asked God’s Spirit to rightly divide His truth into our lives specifically? Is He really Lord over all your life?

Jesus often expected His hearers to know the Word of God. He would say to us by the Spirit today “Have you not read?” (Matthew 12:3, 5, 26, 19:4, 22:31)

“Jesus expects us to know prophecy.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me a solid word from scripture that I can trust in. Thank you for confirming Your Word through fulfilled prophecy in the Bible. Please help me to be consistent in reading Your word and listening to Your Spirit in all I do, trusting that You will speak into my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
