January 26th 2024 – Against All The Odds

“Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.” 2 Chronicles 20:3

Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, faced a major dilemma. His enemies greatly outnumbered him. To make things even worse, his enemies had joined forces with the other enemies of Israel and were making plans to destroy him and his kingdom. Then one day a messenger came to King Jehoshaphat and warned him that massive army was seen headed his way, bent on his ddestruction. The rumors were true, It was now confirmed! It was hopeless. There was no way that he could meet this army with what he had. He was going to be destroyed. What did Jehoshaphat do? The Bible says that he “set himself to seek the Lord.” He prayed, “O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You” 2 Chronicles 20:12

The Lord told Jehoshaphat, “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you” 2 Chronicles 20:15–17

Jehoshaphat and his army went out to meet their enemies, but did something nobody expected. He ordered his the worship team out on the front line armed with only their voices, the Bible says that when they began to sing and praise the Lord, the enemy started fighting among themselves and destroyed each other.

Maybe you are facing what seems like an impossible situation right now. You may not be able to see a way out. But God can. Call on Him. Then stand still and see what He will do.

You are not helpless or hopeless. Your destiny is in the hands of a God that loves you and wants to bless you, heal you and protect you.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me for I am battling the inner demons of depression, sadness, and often hopelessness. Shine Your warm heavenly light down on me. I am in need of strength, courage and healing. Help me to be gentle with myself whenever I regress. Give me courage and strength to move forward following You way. Thank you for the special ones that love me, my family and friends. Guide me to find rest, happiness, and contentment in myself and in life. Today, I desire to choose You above everything else. Give me a heart of compassion and a willingness to think of others before myself. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 25th 2024 – The Good Farmer

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. John 15:1-2)l

What an amazing and loving Heavenly Father we have.  He is always at work within us to help us grow up.  Many people look at verse two and see the words “takes away” and think that God gets rid of those who do not bear fruit.  That is not what it is saying.  This verse means that God lifts up those who are having problems bearing fruit and works with them.

A wise farmer doesn’t destroy his branches, he lifts them up, cleans them, and reties them to the vine.  Our loving Father does the same thing.  He is out for our best and will keep working with us to produce much fruit.

Remember, good trees naturally bring forth good fruit. We are good trees planted in the house of the Lord. If you love God and you have accepted His free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ then God’s love is poured out on you. God is working on the inside to help you produce a great harvest that will last you throughout all eternity.

It’s important to know that it’s not what you do, but it’s letting Him do the work within you. Too many times, we say, “I need to do this or I need to do that” before God will work in my life; it’s just being legalistic. God wants to do the good work within you and as He does and good things develop within your heart, you will see that these fruits of the Spirit will become obvious to others.

If you let God do this pruning within you, you will see that the fruits of love, joy, and peace will start growing, and you’ll look back and say, “Is this really me?” Remember, the fruits of the Spirit are not works of law but gifts of grace.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank you for always being “The Good Farmer”, Its Your pruning that produces good fruit in my life. I welcome the planting of the seeds through Your Word to grow and live in me. As I do, You will clean my heart so that the fruits of the spirit can operate big time within me.  I praise You for all that you do in my life. In Jesus’ precious name,  Amen.

January 24th 2024 – The Journey

“Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.” Genesis 28:10-11

Jacob had quite a journey in front of him. He would be traveling hundreds of miles to eventually reach his destination. Even though Rebekah and Isaac sent him to find a wife, the reality of his brother Esau wanting to kill him was there. This journey was not like the journey we would be taking today. This would be a journey in a wilderness, traveled by foot. At this point in the journey Jacob had been walking all day. He was tired enough to lay his head on a stone and fall asleep.

Right before this journey we see that Jacob received a promise from his father. He was told that he would have the fat of the land, plenty of grain and wheat, people would serve him, and that he would inherit land. Now in the wilderness, on the run from his brother, that thought had to be conflicting. It would be to anyone? Jacob had been told that he would inherit the promise, but the promise was yet to come.

Do you find yourself there today? Has God given you a word for your life, but you are stuck between the promise and fulfillment of the promise. Take heart because God is using scenarios in your life to do an amazing work in your life. God will fulfill His promise in due time. In the meantime He is doing a transformative work in your life.

“When you find yourself in the place between the promises and fulfillment, Take heart that He is doing a transformative work in you.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for always working on my behalf. Give me the strength to Trust You in the good times and bad. I am thankful You are always faithful even when I question or don’t understand. Continue to do Your work in my heart. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 23rd 2023 – How Jesus See’s You

“Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town.  There was a man there named Zacchaeus. He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich. He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd.  Luke 19:1-2

According to the world’s standards for evaluating worth, Zacchaeus was a failure. He was extremely short; he was disliked by everyone because he was a tax collector; and he even hated himself.

He was not proud of what he had achieved in life because he knew he had cheated people to get where he was. He was powerful and had a lot of money, but he absolutely had no friends and was incredibly lonely.

But one day Zacchaeus’ life was completely changed because Jesus walked by and wanted to spend time with him, he realized how much he mattered to God.

When Zacchaeus learned that Jesus was coming to town, he wanted to see him, but he was too short to get a glimpse above the crowd.

“So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way. When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” Luke 19:3-5

That very moment when Jesus looked up and noticed Zacchaeus. Can you imagine how Zacchaeus’ felt? Did his heart start pounding, did he experiance butterflies deep in his stomach? Jesus was looking right at him, a small, despised, insignificant man.

Why did Jesus stop at that tree and look at him? Because He knew that’s exactly where Zacchaeus was.

God knows exactly where you are too. He knew where you were a week ago and he knows where you now and even where you will be tomorrow. You may feel like you’re stuck in a tree right now in your life. God knows where you are. You may feel like you’re out on a limb, Jesus knows. You may feel all alone, but Jesus stops and notices. You are not forgotten, you are not alone.

No tear has ever been hidden from Him. No hurtful word said to you has ever passed that he missed. No abuse has ever occurred that he didn’t see and grieve with you. He sees it all.

“What is the price of five sparrows, two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Luke 12:6-7

The greatest gift of love anyone can ever receive is attention. When you give people your time, you give them your life. When you pay attention to someone and look them in the eye, you are saying, “You matter to me. You are valuable.”

There is never a moment, never a second in your life that God is not paying attention to you. He notices you 24 hours a day because he loves you; you are valuable to him.

Don’t forget to call your loved ones this Thanksgiving holiday and  spend some time and let them know they matter to you. Make amends to the ones you may need to, and brighten the day of someone that wouldn’t expect you to call. Let them know that they matter and you still care.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the always noticing me no matter how insignificant I may feel in the world, how lonely I may be because family doesnt call or how screwed up I may get. Today I come to You with nothing but empty hands and a heart that desires more of You. Please Lord, take my life and do with it as you please. I trust You and desire to glorify Your name in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 22nd 2024 – Don’t Be Afraid To Ask Jesus

“Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Mark 10:46-47

I wonder whether Bartimaeus, a blind man, would have been healed by Jesus if he had been afraid and simply sat in silence when Jesus walked by. Would Jesus have stopped and turned toward him and touched him? Perhaps. But there were a lot of blind people around during Jesus’ earthly ministry. There were a lot of deaf people. There were a lot of people with leprosy. There were a lot of people with all kinds of physical problems.

But Jesus didn’t heal all of those people, did He? In fact, we usually find in Scripture that Jesus responded to the people who spoke out and called out to Him. In the case of Bartimaeus, he cried out, and his voice was heard. It probably helped that he screamed. We do not need to scream in our prayers, necessarily, but we do need lift our prayers to God.

What is your need today? Do you need a touch in your body, like Bartimaeus did? Then call out to Jesus. Do you have a child who needs to be healed? Do you have a marriage that needs help? Are you lonely and desire a husband or wife. Then call out to Jesus, and pray with confidence even if the answer does not come quickly.

Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

Spend some time with Jesus, focusing simply on enjoying His company. In this time, share with Him the desire of your heart. Let’s call out to the Lord, pray with confidence.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I want to have a passion for Your presence. Please remove from me any fear of being passionately set apart for You. I ache to know You more! Teach me to pray the prayers that stir Your heart. I want my worship and prayers from my heart to bless Your heart and give You the love that You deserve! Please give me the grace to make and keep time set aside to worship, dialogue with You in prayer. Please forgive me when I push aside that time and dont take it seriously. Help me to always be be able to pray with confidence in my devotional life. Help me to hear from You according to Your word and allow You to speak into my life that I might have daily communion with You always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Dont be afraid to ask, speak you hearts to the Lord. Pray with confidence that your prayers truly are powerful and effective enough to touch God’s heart”

January 21st 2024 – Trust God

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Sometimes in life you will face situations in which we will not have the resources or the ability to respond to. There will be circumstances that are beyond your control. Tests will come up, and that is when you need to trust God.

When an unexpected problem arrives, and you wonder how you will ever pay it . . . when you have that crisis with your spouse, and you wonder how you will ever get through it . . . when a loved one dies unexpectedly, and you wonder how you will survive it, here is how: you are going to trust God. You must trust God. And God will come through for you.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and He will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6

When you learn to trust the Lord, you will begin to have a sense of rest in the Lord knowing that He has everything under control even when life seems to be out of control.  Trusting God will get you to the point where you make a decision to trust in Him and NOT in your own logic and understanding.

Nothing is too big or too small for God to respond to. Sometimes we minimize someone else’s hardship. We may think, “I have dealt with that on a much more intense level, they will survive.” That kind of thinking is wrong, what if God looked at our hurts and problems like that?

Someone’s struggles may not seem significant to you, but it is significant to them. If it concerns them, it concerns the God.

Each of us should come to God with our burdens and struggles. Is there something keeping you up at night? Is there something troubling you right now? Is there a need you have? Bring it to God. It is not too big, nor is it too small and insignificant. The psalmist wrote, “Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:1–2).

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. Jeremiah 29:11-13

“When faced with a need, no matter how large or small, we are to look to God to meet it.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I ask that You increase within me your obedient spirit so that I may be obedient to Your instruction.  Help me, Lord, to walk by faith and not by sight.  I don’t always understand what You’re doing in my life, but I make a decision to trust You God, In this season, I ask that You place within me your spirit of joy, peace and rest.  Give me joy, peace, and rest to endure all that comes my way. Right now, I make a decision to trust You, Lord, because I know that You’re in control of my life even when my life seems to be out of control. Lord, I thank You for clarity, guidance, provision, and strength.  I pray and ask for these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.

2018-02-27-05-45-18

If you have not asked Jesus into your life, You can receive Jesus Christ right now by faith through prayer.

Prayer is just talking with God. He knows your heart, so don’t worry about getting your words just right. Here is a suggested prayer to guide you:

Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen.

If you have prayed this prayer in faith, then congratulations! (Luke 15:7) says that when one sinner accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Saviour the angels rejoice. So there’s a party going on in heaven right now over your decision! Remember this date as your “second birthday,” the day you were born into a new life in Christ! You have God’s Word that He answered your prayer.

Please let us know of your decision to follow Jesus so that we can continue to pray for you. We have electronic book to send you.NameEmailComment

January 20th 2024 – Is God Speaking To You?

“then hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of the sons of men),” 2 Chronicles 6:30

Trials, hardships, frustrations–whatever they’re called, we all deal with them at one time or another. The good news is that God desires to speak to us during those times. It could be that you are surrounded by circumstances that are difficult, or you may have made bad choices which have led to a bad situation. In those times, remember the words of Jesus Himself…

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28

Many times in life, we can’t hear the Lord, even when He is shouting to get our attention. It’s often in those times of struggle that He whispers and we hear His voice loud and clear. If today you find yourself in the midst of hardships, seek the Lord. Use this time to seek forgiveness and cling to the grace of God. Cry out to God and He will hear from heaven and pour out His love upon you in abundance. When we do this, God makes the most of our pain and can bring something good from something bad.

“Whenever something in life goes wrong, use the moment to ask forgiveness and draw closer to the Lord.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the life You have given me. Lord, I pray that when this life gets difficult that I turn to You. Help me draw closer to You whether I am enjoying blessings or walking through trials. Father, may each day and circumstance be used to make me more like Jesus. Forgive me of my sins and fill me with Your Spirit so that I can be used to build Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 17th 2024 – Who Is The Holy Spirit

“However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].” John 16:7

We talk about Jesus, we talk about the Father, but we seem to forget the one that Jesus said to wait for, the one that would fill us with the power of God.  We seem to forget to acknowledge Him as part of the Godhead, yet He is as much God as God the Father and our Lord Jesus.  So let’s take a little time and get to know Him.

Jesus, in this verse, tells us that it is expedient that He goes away so that the Holy Spirit would come.  I don’t know about you but I would say, “No way, I need and want Jesus!”.  I would like to have been physically there with Jesus, like Peter, James and John was.  Yet Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit is like Himself and can be at all places at all times.

You see when Jesus walked on this earth He lived in an earthly body like yours and mine, so if He was in Jerusalem, then He wasn’t in Rome.  Yet when we look at the Holy Spirit, He is Omnipresent, He exists everywhere.  There is no place in heaven, on earth, or in the universe that He is not there.  He is Omnipotent, He is all powerful, and He is Omniscient, He knows everything that there is to know.

So today, living inside each and every person that has received Jesus as their own personal Lord and Savior is Almighty God, the Holy Spirit.  Jesus told us that He is coming to be our Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby.  This is such amazing truth that we should take a few minutes right now and thank Him for living in us and helping us each and every day.  The scripture also has promised us that He would never leave us or forsake us. What a wonderful gift from God.

“When we pray for the Spirit’s help … we will simply fall down at the Lord’s feet in our weakness. There we will find the victory and power that comes from His love.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank and praise You for the precious gift that i have inside of me, I have the all powerful, all knowing and always present Holy Spirit to help me in my life journey.  God You are so good to me.  I ask that you would continue to fill me daily with so much love and faith the it spills over. I pray that when others speak to me that they will notice Your Holy Spirit present in my life… please continue to use me to share your gosple.

I Praise You for each and everyone of the people that have had the faith to choose you Lord. I will never forget the day I chose to follow You and experienced the indwelling of Your Holy Spirit into me. I truly did not understand, I was blinded and in bondage until you set me free.  I love you… in Your precious name. Amen.

If you have never made the decision to ask Jesus into your life, please consider what you are missing. JESUS is the greatest gift I have ever experienced. My life has never been the same. I would not ever want to life any other way. Please click here to learn more..

January 16th 2024 – I Believe God, Do You?

“Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.” Acts 27:25

As the storm threatened and the boat pitched back and forth, when it looked as though everyone was going to drown, the apostle Paul encouraged the others on board: “Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me” Acts 27:25

Those are not the words of a person in denial or out of touch with reality as some unbelievers might say. The fact is that Paul uttered them when they were still in the worst of the storm, with no tangible hope. They had the hope that had been given to Paul by God, the promise they would be delivered, but there was nothing visible to indicate that it really was going to happen.

This was faith, you see. It is faith when we can say, as everything is unraveling around us, “God is in control. I know He is going to get me through this, and I know that He is faithful.” Paul was confident. He knew that God was the Master of his circumstances and the Captain of his boat. He knew that God was in control.

There was a time when Jesus told the disciples to launch out into the deep for a catch of fish. After they had been fishing for many hours and hadn’t caught a thing. Peter said, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, at Your word, I will let down the net” Luke 5:5. Then the Bible tells us they caught so many fish, their nets were breaking.

There is a unique nautical term that is used when addressing  the master of a particular boat or ship, it is called “Captain”.

So here is the question: Are you willing to let Him be the Captain of your boat? Are you willing to say, like Paul, “I believe God”?

“Faith is knowing God is in control, even when things are unraveling.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I ask that You increase within me your obedient spirit so that I may be obedient to Your instruction. Help me Lord to walk by faith and not by sight.  I don’t always understand what You’re doing in my life, but I make a decision to trust You God, In these storms, I ask that You place within me your spirit of hope, peace and rest. Help me  to endure all that comes my way. Right now, I make a decision to trust You Lord because I know that You’re in control of my life even when my life seems to be out of control. Lord, I thank You for clarity, guidance, provision and strength.  I pray and ask for these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 15th 2024 – Joy in His Presence

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” – Psalm 16:11

In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easy to equate happiness with the fleeting pleasures of the world. However, true joy, the kind that fills our hearts and sustains us through trials, comes from a deeper, more eternal source – our relationship with God.

Joy in Christian life is more than just a feeling; it’s a state of being that arises from knowing God and trusting in His sovereign plan. Unlike worldly happiness that depends on external circumstances, this joy is constant, because God’s love and presence are unchanging.

Reflect on the times you’ve experienced true joy. Weren’t these moments often tied to a sense of peace, a feeling of being in God’s presence, or in the midst of serving others in love? This joy doesn’t ignore life’s challenges but looks beyond them, finding hope and reassurance in God’s promises.

Consider the example of Jesus. Even in the face of suffering, He remained anchored in joy, knowing the fulfillment of His Father’s plan was imminent. Hebrews 12:2 says, “For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

As followers of Christ, we’re called to find our joy in Him. This joy is a fruit of the Spirit, growing within us as we deepen our relationship with God. It’s a joy that gives strength, as Nehemiah 8:10 declares, “The joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of joy that comes from Your presence. Help me to seek You above all else, knowing that in Your presence, I will find the fullness of joy. Guide me to live out this joy in my daily life, shining Your light in a world that so desperately needs it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God has made it possible for you to know Him and experience an amazing change in your own life. Click here  to discover how you can find peace with God.
