September 18th 2015 – When I am in the Valley

images-131

“though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalms 23::4)

We see in all of these verses so far that the Shepherd leads, guides, helps, and loves us.  Now, in this verse, it changes from the Shepherd’s actions and love for us, to our own actions.  You see, in life there are going to be times when we don’t listen so that we get ourselves in places we shouldn’t be.  Here it’s called “the valley of the shadow of death”.

Have you ever had times like that?  You find that the grass isn’t green and the stream is dirty and you say, “how did I get here?”  You see that it was through your own decisions, or you didn’t take the time to listen to the Shepherd’s voice, that you opened doors that should have stayed shut.

Even in these times, even when we mess up, the Great Shepherd doesn’t leave us.  No! He promised us that He would never leave us or forsake us.  Never means never and here we see the same promise.  I will fear no evil, why?   FOR YOU ARE WITH ME!  What a promise.  When we mess up, we need to ‘fess up and He, the Great Shepherd, forgives and restores.

Even when we open doors to the evil one, our Shepherd takes out His mighty rod and grabs hold of us with His wonderful staff and brings great comfort to our lives.  What security, what comfort, what hope we have because of our amazing Jesus.

So take heart today that there is no sin too strong that the blood of Jesus can’t wash away.  Rest in His loving arms and hear His heartbeat as you lay your head upon His chest.  Know that He loves you and will always protect you against anything that the enemy might bring against you.  He’ll even protect you when you open a door that you shouldn’t have.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the blood of Jesus that has washed me white as snow.  I thank You that no matter what comes against me or even when I’m walking in the valley, You are there to comfort and to restore.  What a God I serve. In Jesus precious name. Amen..

Don’t walk the the valley alone, choose Jesus..

September 17th 2015 – Wait and Go

images-229

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” (Matthew 28:18-19)

“And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” (Acts 1:4-5)

Many people tell us that the last words that Jesus spoke to His followers before His ascension was to go but by looking at these two verses, He told them to wait, and then go.  You see Jesus knew how important it was for His followers not to go in their own strength but to go in the power of the Holy Spirit.  He wanted them filled with His Spirit and then to go into all the world and help many come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Too many times we go before we get instructions from headquarters.  We rush out the door and never take time to ask the Holy Spirit if there is anything that we need to watch out for today or if there is someone that He would wants us to speak to.  It says in John 14:26, the Helper, the Holy Spirit will bring things to our attention.

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” (John 14:26)

The Holy Spirit wants to be an active part of our lives to help us each and every day.  He wants to warn us when trouble is up ahead.  He wants to give us wisdom in our dealings in life, and so many times we’re just too busy to listen.  You know, sometimes I think that we’re just, TOO BUSY, and we miss out on His direction and leading.

Jesus told us that the Holy Spirit would be just like Him and that He would live in us, so let’s take sometime today to listen to what He has to say.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, today I’m waiting on up ur direction. Help me not to continually rush into things but to just wait and listen for your instructions. I thank you for your Holy Spirit. I praise and love you. Amen.

September 15th 2015 – A Parable of Urgency to the Unbeliever

images-152

“Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.” (Psalm 32:6)

Jesus often relied on parables in the Bible to compare something in everyday life to a spiritual truth. However, many of us have trouble understanding Jesus’ parables because we don’t belong to the culture for which they were written. The importance of the spiritual truth is diluted, if not misunderstood, because we can’t relate to the everyday example to which Jesus compares it. The fact is if Jesus walked among us today, His parables would emphasize the same spiritual truths, but use situations and circumstances to which we could immediately connect.

I don’t think you’ll have any trouble understanding this parable.

A couple and thier two children are vacationing in the Gulf of Mexico, Their tenage daughters were playing on rafts out in the ocean bay. All were unaware that a major storm was brewing several hundred miles out in the Gulf, even though the undertow was already beginning to show the early symptoms that a storm was on the way.

These two little girls drifted out beyond the breakers and one of them lost her float. Her sister told her to hold on to the raft until help arrived, but no one seemed to be noticing that they needed help. Meanwhile, the undertow repeatedly overpowered the little girls, only to relinquish its strength long enough for them to get her head back above the water and catch her breath.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a lifeguard appeared. However, he couldn’t overcome the power of the undertow either and told the girls that if they drifted out beyond the next row of breakers, there would be no coming back.

I’m not going to drag out the suspense. The lifeguard managed to get the girls safely back to shore, but I couldn’t let the spiritual truth in this story go to an early grave.

This parable is told in the context of our own culture; consequently, most of us have no trouble understanding its connection to the burden of sin and the timing of salvation in the life of an unbeliever. Indeed, as Paul put it, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”. (Romans 6:23) However, what many of us fail to understand what Paul means when he said, “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation”. (2 Corinthians 6:2)

Each of us knows as unbeliever who either beleives in false doctrines or they can decide when it is time to open their heart to Jesus. While they will freely admit that they sometimes feels God’s pull, but they dont think they need God right now. “There’s plenty of time left before I need to make that decision,” they may tell you.

They may be deadly wrong. God told the Prophet Isaiah, “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” (Isaiah 55:6)

The truth is that God will not wait on us to come to him. When he knocks, it may be our only opportunity to answer his call. His Word constantly reminds us that it is he who decides who may come to him; and it is he who will decide when it is time to shut the door. That’s why Jesus said, “Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us’. But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from’.” (Luke 13:25)

Aren’t you glad that when you were drowning in your gulf of sin, a lifeguard appeared to let you know that if you got out much farther, there would be no coming back. After all, “For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him”. (John 3:17)

Prayer

Heavenly Father, these are such tedious times. Never before in society have we witnessed such times where the prophet’s signs are unfolding daily right before our eyes. Times where all things that are Godly and good are banned and sin is being leaglised everywhere we look.

Father God, I thank you for Your persistent pursuit of me to come to know You, as my Lord and Savior. I thank You for the Holy Spirt and how my eyes were opened when I accepted You personally into my life. I ask humbly as nothing more then a peasant servant, that you would reveil a sense of urgency in the hearts of people that you lead into my life. Help open their eyes to the truths in your Holy word. That they would be curious to seek the answers to why there is still a empty void in thier life. We were created to Love you, and seek You Lord.. The enemy has created such confusion with his lies. But Your word warns us of that.  “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; but You come that we may have life, and have it abundantly.”

I praise You for your promise, Your Love and I pray that today is the day that my friend truly opens the door of thier heart that You would be invited to come in before it’s too late. In Your Holy name. Amen

September 14th 2015 – Our Glorious Healer

images-81

“And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you” (Deuteronomy 7:15)

Our Father God is not the author of sickness and disease.  He is the author of health and well-being.  Our Father is looking for ways to bring healing to us and not take it away from us.  When we do a good study of the scriptures you will find over and over that our God is a God who heals His children.

The Bible states that Jesus and the Father are one and everywhere that Jesus went as He walked this earth, He never once put a sickness on someone.  NO!  He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.  So we see that sickness is from the devil and it came at the fall.

When satan came and brought fear into this world and all its deadly works, God sent Jesus to destroy all of them for us.  What a Father we serve.  He is the Great I Am, not I Want To Be.  He is at work in us, helping us and guiding us to bring a cure.  Do you really think that the devil would give us doctors and nurses and people that can help us?

You see if it was up to the devil he would keep us sick and miserable.  But our Father has given us healing through His Word.  He has given great medicines and doctors, all because He loves us and wants us well.

So today, don’t accept anything from the devil.  Accept everything that is good and comes from God your Heavenly Father Who loves you and gave His all for you.  Learn His ways and the light will always expose the darkness of the devil.

Prayer

Lord, I come before you today in need of your healing hand. In you all things are possible. Hold my heart within yours, and renew my mind, body, and soul

I am lost, but I am singing. You gave us life, and you also give us the gift of infinite joy. Give me the strength to move forward on the path you’ve laid out for me. Guide me towards better health, and give me the wisdom to identify those you’ve placed around me to help me get better In your precious name I pray, Amen

September 12th 2015 – Thanksgiving and (Holy Spirit) Prayers (Part 3)

images-203

“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”(Colossians 1:9-17)

This is another Holy Spirit prayer that can be prayed for yourself or someone else.

Again, we see that the Apostle Paul is praying that they might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.  God wants us to know His will.  His will is His Word.  When we take time to read the Word of God, the Bible, and to read good books by strong men and women of God, we get an understanding of the mind of God.

Then, as we pray prayers like this, it opens us up to receive from the Word that we’ve read.  There are some times when I read the Word and don’t get much out of it.  Then there are times that I read the Bible and I say, “Wow! Was that always in there?”  Sometimes this happens as I listen to teachings from men and women of God.

God has set people in the church to help us learn and to help us get an understanding of the Word.  However, we cannot just lean on them.  We have to take time to read the Word for ourselves as well, and ask Him to give us the understanding that we need.

So today, start praying these Holy Spirit prayers that we looked at the last three days, over yourself and others, and see what happens.  See yourself coming into a new place in God.  See yourself seeing things from the Word that you never saw before.  Remember, it all starts with a prayer and the Holy Spirit has placed these powerful prayers in the scriptures for you and for me.

Prayer

Today, I pray this Holy Spirit anointed prayer for _______________.

Heavenly Father, thank you for opening their eyes as I pray this prayer.  Thank you that they will see what is available to them in the kingdom of God. Thank you for being so incredibly passionate about us Lord. Thank you for not only your continous pursuit of me but also of ___________. I acknowledge that You, and only You are my one true God. I will never forget your sacrifice on the cross,  it is why I get to live this life I have today. I submit my life to You.  In Your precious name,  Amen.

September 11th 2015 – Thanksgiving and (Holy Spirit) Prayers (Part 2)

images-140

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”  (Ephesians 3:14-21)

Here is the second of these Holy Spirit inspired prayers that the Apostle Paul gave us.  This is again one that we can pray for ourselves and for others.  As we pray this prayer, watch and see the Holy Spirit do a work within us and others.

In this prayer Paul is praying for a strengthening with God’s might in our spirit.  I don’t know about you but when my spirit man is strong my entire being is full of strength.  Paul continues on to ask that Christ might dwell in our hearts by faith and that we would get a full comprehension of the love of Christ, that we would understand the very depth of it, that we would understand how high it is and how deep it is.

If we, or anyone, would ever get a full understanding of the love and grace of God it would make a total and radical change within us.  There is so much more in this prayer.  These are just a couple thoughts but go ahead and pray this prayer each day for yourself and others.

Prayer

Today, I pray for _______________, and I am going to pray this Holy Spirit anointed prayer over them.  Father, thank You for opening their eyes as I pray this prayer, that they will see what is available to them in the kingdom of God. I thank You and praise you for all that you do in my life Lord. In Jesus precious name. Amen

September 10th 2015 – Thanksgiving and (Holy Spirit) Prayers (Part 1)

2015-09-10-02-55-21-1518634283

“For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.(Ephesians 1:15-23)

Throughout the epistles that the Apostle Paul wrote, we see some of his Holy Spirit inspired prayers.  These prayers are full of the power of God and can be prayed for ourselves or for others.  We see in Ephesians 1:15-23, a powerful prayer to help us and others have open eyes to the things of the Spirit.

Paul is praying that God would give us or whoever we’re praying for, a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.  So many times people’s eyes are closed by demonic influences and it takes real prayer to break these hindrances.  As we pray this prayer over people, we’re asking the Holy Spirit to open their eyes to the things of God.

Do you know someone who seems to be so closed to the things of God?  Pray this prayer over them as often as you can.  Thank God for opening their eyes so their understanding will be enlightened and that they might understand their place in the kingdom of God.  There is no power stronger then the Word of God and these prayers that we’re going to look at in the next few days have the breath of the Spirit upon them.  Use them and see what God is going to do.

Prayer

I pray for _______________ and I am going to pray this Holy Spirit anointed prayer over them.

Heavenly Father, thank you for opening their eyes as I pray this prayer, that they will see what is available to them in the kingdom of God. I pray that you enlighten their heart and that Your Holy Spirit surrounds them and engulfs their very soul. Lord God I also ask that we would stay obedient in praying for their salvation. Lord God please open us up to sharing Your word, and how You rescued us from bondage of this world. We pray this prayer in Jesus holy name. Amen.

September 9th 2015 – Be an Encourager

images-228

“But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.” (Acts 23:11)

In the world we have many talkers, yet so few encouragers.  Here we see Paul is going to have to give a witness of our Lord in Rome and Jesus, the greatest encourager of all, stood by Paul and lifted him up.  In life there are times when we get down and we need people that will lift us up.  In saying that, remember, there are people all around us who need a pat on the back or a good hardy handshake, and encouragement.

It’s so easy to look at the mistakes that people make and the little things that people do wrong and major on them, but what would happen if we looked at the things people did right and majored on them?

What would happen to a husband or wife if they encouraged each other instead of looking at the mistakes that are made?  What would happen if when our children mess up, instead of harping on the mistake, we encouraged them to do better?

You see, in this negative world, people always try to find the worst in others instead of looking at the best.  Have you ever read some reviews on a book or movie or an item and you see reviews for one star, and then others with five stars, and you wonder, are they looking at the same product?

It’s the same with us.  We can look at the same person and one will see the best in them and the other will see the worst.  I pray today that we will start seeing the best in others.  That we will start believing the best and helping people become all that God would want them to become.  Let’s start with our mates and children and go from there.  Come on, what do you say?  LET’S BE ENCOURAGERS.

Prayer

Dear God, Today, I’m going to make a decision to be an encourager, to believe the best in others.  I’m going to stop look at all the little mistakes and see the big picture.  God you believe in them and so do I. Amen

September 8th 2015 -Sharing the Good News!

images-107

“Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:45-46)

When Jesus was on the cross, in God’s eyes the whole world was on that cross also.  The sin of Adam was laid upon Jesus and He became sin for us.  Some people have a hard time receiving this but look at what it says in 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”  Jesus, Who knew no sin, He never sinned once in His 30 plus years upon this earth, became the sin sacrifice for all of us.  This gift that God gave us is so powerful that if a person chooses not to accept it, it will separate them from God for all eternity.  At the moment that Jesus cried out these heart wrenching words all of creation shut down.  The world got darkened as they saw the Son of God die on that cross.

At that very moment when Jesus cried out, My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?, Jesus became my sin substitute.  He took all of my sin, my shame, my hell, He took everything, once and for all and placed it upon Himself.  Or, we can say that God put it all on Him for us.

Jesus became the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world.  He became the curse so that I don’t have to be cursed in life.  He became sin so I don’t have to live in sin.  He became fear so that I don’t have to live in torment.  He became sickness so I can be healed.  He became the second Adam so that I can become a very son of God.

This is so amazing that we need to shout it to the whole world.  “World, God loves you and forgives you!”  He forgave me and I know that He will do the same for anyone that will receive it.  So let’s go out and share the Good News, the Gospel and give to others what God has given to us.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for the Good News. Jesus I thank you that you took all my bad so I can have good. Because of what You did on the cross, I am forgiven and I am set free. I don’t want to ever live my life where I am not continually greatful for your sacrifice for me. I am not deserving, I can’t ever repay you, but I can forever Love you and I can share your story, share what You did for someone like me.

Forgive me me for the pain that I caused you with my disobedience. Thank you for my precious wife, my children, my family and friends. Thank you for the disasters in my life, I thank you, because that is where I first found You. You were there to help me pick up the pieces of a shattered life and make something beautiful out of the wreckage. You are so good to me. I love you.. Amen..

If you have never experienced living in God’s grace through Jesus Christ. Please do not wait for the day that you wake up and realize that your life is a train wreck. I did and only because I insisted on doing everything on my own, my way. Ask Jesus into your life. He will guide you, and help you through the hard times and be the greatest and best friend you ever have.

September 3rd 2015 – God’s Holy Word Heals!

images-124

“He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” (Psalms 107:20)

When God our Father gave us His Word, it was to provide for all of our needs as we live our lives.  His Word provides for our spiritual needs, mental needs, and physical needs. Our God is a good God who loves His children and wants us to have a blessed life here on earth.

Jesus said “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

While we are in this world we will have things come against us and attack us.  That is why He has given us His Word, to overcome the enemy and the attacks of life.  The armor of God is for our protection and the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God to defeat the enemy.

God has given us an amazing arsenal of weapons to keep the devil in his place until Jesus returns.  Too many times we don’t take the time to find out what these weapons are that God has given us and we miss out on so many of the blessings of our Father.

As we look at the subject of healing so many people say, well whatever the Father’s will is, that’s what I will get.  But we see from today’s verse that God’s will is to heal us.  He only wants the best for us and He cares for us in each part of our being.

So today, receive His Word concerning healing, and let the Great Physician heal you or someone you love.. Yes, God has healed us spiritually, but He also sent His Word to heal us physically. His Word was sent to us to deliver us and to set us free as we walk through life’s journey. So never think that you are alone.  His Word is always with us to give us the victory in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Heavenly Father, We love you and praise you. You sent Your word to heal us. We come before you humbled and broken, we ask your full healing in our lives, Today, we ask and prepare ourselves to receive healing spiritually, mentally, and physically over our bodies.  Your healing is a complete healing.  Thank you Father, for your complete work being done in us..
