June 10th 2017 – Our Deepest Pains

“Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.” (2 Corinthians 1:6)

If you knew that the pain a friend was facing would lead them to God, would you remove the pain if you could? If you understood that the heartache of a loved one would result in the salvation of their soul, would you allow it to happen? If you realized that the suffering that you are dealing with right now meant that God would use you to comfort another person, would you refuse to endure it? These are difficult questions but they are important ones to ask. If God is good and can be trusted, doesn’t that mean He has a plan and purpose for everything, even our pain?

I once had a very diffrent life, I was a successful businessman and president of corporation. I was married 15 years to my best friend, our children were happy, we owned a beautiful home and we were not in any debt. I enjoyed our life to the fullest.

One day, without any signs or warnings my wife leaves my children and I. There was no explanation as to why or what had been done to make her want to leave. There had been very few disagreements in our marriage. We did everything together, My wife and children meant everything to me.

It wasnt very long before I discovered that she had become involved with a professional con-artist that made an existence stealling peoples identies and breaking up familes for his financial gain.

Through fraud my business and personal accounts had been compromised an emptied, it put all of our employees at risk of loosing their jobs and the kids and I almost homeless.

The heartache and the stress caused me to have a hemorrhagic stroke about 3 months later that changed my life forever. I lost my vision for some time from hemorrhage eyes, ears and the feeling in right hand and leg. I suffered brain dammage, mostly to my ability to recall anything recent.

Life was by no means easy. Our innocent children suffered from abandonment and the loss of everything familiar to them.

There were friends and family who saw it as a tragedy. After all, I had to endure surgeries, and years of therapy and difficulties just to be able think correctly.

There are those in the world who would have looked at my situation and asked “How can a good God exist when someone especially children have to suffer like this.” There’s a problem with that thought; they can’t see God’s full plan. You see, because of my story of hardship, I am able to share comfort with those who have endured similar things. Also, as people hear the amazing story of what God has done in my life, how He sought me out and saved me. How He also gave me the most wonderful wife and a new family, restored my mind and a miracle recovery. He gets the glory. In the end, my past sufferings (I gave you the short verson) have been used to draw men and women into a relationship with God. That, is worth every moment of pain I endured.

“Every pain in life can find meaning by learning to comfort others.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the trials You have allowed in my life. Help me to patiently endure those hard times so that I can be used to comfort and minister to others in their times of need. In Jesus’ name, amen

 June 9th 2017 – Breaking Free!

“The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.” (Galatians 5:17)

When it comes to breaking free from bondage, I have found that many people often dread the work that comes with being free…And to be honest, I completely understand!  I don’t know about you, but just hearing the phrase, “breaking free from bondage” seems strenuous and down-right uncomfortable! This is especially true for many people when it comes to the certain areas such as theese. Quitting addictions, losing weight, or even reaching a health or fitness goal.

After years of working with people, and experiencing change in many areas of my own life, I have come to find that the reason change often seems so difficult is that we are trying to make it happen backwards! The bible says, “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7), this means that if you are ever going to experience freedom in any area, you are going to have to start to see yourself as free on the inside before you see it on the outside.

I have learned that lasting change in any area truly starts and takes place right in between our ears, or in our minds. We must realize that we have an enemy, the devil, and he can only attack us in one area, in our minds, and he does so with lies and deception. One of the most common lies that the enemy tries to get us trapped in is to make us think that we are, (and will always be) slaves and in bondage to things. He comes at us with this lie because he knows that as long as he can get you to believe that you are a slave to a certain habit, behavior, or thing, you will never be able to break free, which is right where he wants you to stay.

The good news is that Christ came to set us free from ALL bondage! In fact, if you are born again, the Bible says you are ALREADY free. “Whom the son has set free, is free indeed” (John 8:36).  This means that when you ask Jesus to be your Savior, that you are free from the power that sin once had over you.

I like to think of it it like a person who is in a jail cell with the door locked, and when Jesus comes along, He comes and unlocks the door, and says, “come on out, your free!” But just as we are about to step out, the devil says “wait, who told you that you could leave? You are not really free, and you never will be. You will be in bondage to this thing, habit, or lifestyle forever!” And so, the born again believer stays in the jail cell, with the door wide open, when all they needed to do was take a step out into freedom!

Taking this step into freedom does require action on our part, and it takes effort to a•new* our minds with God’s Word, and learn our identity in Christ.  The first step often requires us humbling ourselves before the Lord, and repenting of our behaviors that are not glorifying to Him, and ask for His help to change, maybe even a make public confession to people that can hold us accountable. Jesus will always be there to respond to our cry, and He is a good Father that loves and desires to take our hand and lead us into freedom.

The next step is getting into the Word of God, and asking God to a•new* our minds, and help us to see ourselves as the overcomer that He has created us to be. It also means praying specifically about the things that we desire change in on a daily (sometimes multiple times a day) basis!

This process of walking into total freedom can often happen in steps and stages, like peeling back layers on an onion. The reason for this is simply because many of us have lived in bondage to things for many years and it often takes time for our minds to be renewed, and our hearts to respond to the Lord and change. The important thing to remember however, is that God has already given you everything you need to walk in total victory and freedom in every area of your life.

“See yourself as you truly are in Christ…totally and completely set free!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Your word tells us, that our flesh lusts or wars against our spirit. I am not to gratify the lusts of my flesh. I will walk by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Father, You know at times, we will struggle with the temptation to gratify the desires of our flesh. I understand that lust is saying, “I must have this” Much of this battle is in my mind and thought life. Because of loneliness and inner pain at times, we may entertained lustful fantasies in our minds and thoughts. This only increased the desire for us to gratify our flesh. At times, this battle has been more than we could stand and we may have given in to our flesh. I ask You, Father, reveal to us any ways in which we have broken your moral laws. I Pray for a breakthrough in the life of who you led my way today. I pray for continued guidance and verbal articulation of your word. I love you Lord .. Amen.

(Please pray this prayer)

Father God, I am truly sorry. I repent and ask You to forgive me. I want to follow you and ask you (into) or (back into) my life. I acknowledge that Jesus Christ died on the cross for me all my sins are forgiven in His name. I repent and cancel all access to my life by evil spirits. I claim the blood of Jesus over me as my protection. I command all evil spirits that have entered my body or mind, to leave me now in Jesus’ name. I now make a new commitment to guard my eyes and take every thought captive in obedience to Christ. I will walk by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I will work to take control of my body and anew my mind, not giving into fleshly lusts. I will depend on the Holy Spirit to help me accomplish this, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Asking Jesus into your life.

June 7th 2017 – Heal Me, Make Me Clean

“Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, ‘If You are willing, You can make me clean.’ Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, ‘I am willing; be cleansed.’ As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed. And He strictly warned him and sent him away at once, and said to him, ‘See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.'” (Mark 1:40-44)

We see in the Hebrew Scriptures that people with leprosy had to dwell alone. That person couldn’t be around others.

(Leviticus 13:46) He shall be unclean. All the days he has the sore he shall be unclean. He is unclean, and he shall dwell alone; his dwelling shall be outside the camp.”

Once someone showed themselves to the priests and the priests declared that person leprous they had to leave the camp. They couldn’t hug their family bye, they couldn’t touch anyone. No one touched them. This leper comes to Jesus and what does Jesus do? Jesus could heal with just words, but not this time. I wonder how long it had been since someone had touched this guy? Remember, you didn’t touch anyone with leprosy. And let’s talk about why Jesus actually touched him. When Jesus touched him it was Jesus taking the leprosy from him. Leprosy was a picture of sin. .

Just as Jesus took the leprosy, Jesus can take our sin. Sin makes you feel alone. When you mess up during the week, you don’t feel like going to church, do you? You don’t feel like hanging out with those that could possibly encourage you. But as you mature in Christ you start to realize that is when you need fellowship the most. Do not, do not … turn away from those who could encourage you. When you feel like staying away, don’t follow your feelings, be lead by your faith. Fellowship, go against your feelings.

“Fellowship will drive you away from sin or sin will drive you away from fellowship.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Don’t allow me to pull away from fellowship with other believers. Thank You for giving us the body of Christ. Thank You for sacrificing Your son for our sins. Help me to serve, to fellowship and to give to increase Your kingdom. Continue to make the desires of my heart, be things that please You. Amen.

June 5th 2017 – Discover a Life Worth Living

“For it makes no difference whether or not a man has been circumcised. The important thing is to keep God’s commandments.” (1 Corinthians 7:19)

We all have unique talents and abilities that God wants to use for His glory. Your act of love for God is expressed when you serve and keep His commandments. Don’t be dissatisfied with your giftings, but obey God and walk in them.

Serving God with your gifts and obeying His commandments should be a high priority in the life of the believer. This is not to say that you are under the law, but because of His amazing love for you, you can respond in love by serving others with your talents. While you are not trying to earn your righteousness, you should desire to be obedient to Him. Not because you are earning your salvation, but because you love Him.

(1 John 5:2-3) “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.”

You are to love God with all of your heart, soul and mind (Matthew 22:37). Serving and obeying God should not be burdensome because He loved you first. When I bring a gift to my wife, I do not do so because I am married. I do this out of love. In the same way, show your love and affection for God by being committed to witness, read the Bible, pray and love others.

Do you express your love to God by serving Him and others? Remember how God told us to discover a life worth living? Feel safe and secure in the arms of God’s redeeming power and undeniable love. Step out in obedience to Him and share the hope and love of God to this cold, dark world that does not have anything worth living for and sure does not offer anything worth dying for.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your love that sets me free when I ask you to forgive me of my sins. Thank You for allowing me to come to You. I thank You for the talents and abilities You have given to me. Forgive me where I have envied someone else’s gifts while neglecting to use my own gifts. Help me to be grateful for the call You have for my life so that I can discover purpose and meaning the way You intended. Lord, thank You for Your patience with me. Help me bring hope to a lost and dying world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

June 1st 2017 – Let Your Light Shine

“All they knew was that people were saying, “The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!” And they praised God because of me.” (Galatians 1:23-24)

God is in the business of using our lives, no matter our past mistakes. Paul had persecuted the church and then he became one leading the church. God was using Paul and his past to be a witness of God’s power and grace.

God wants to do the same with you. I know it sounds a little crazy, but it’s true. God wants to use your life to be a light in a dark world. “But you don’t know what I’ve done in my past.” I may not, but God does and he says that those things are forgiven. Don’t dwell on those things, confess them to the Lord and then move on in faith. Share your testimony, love your enemy, give to the needy or whatever else God may have you do. We are only on this earth for a short time. Use every moment for the Lord and you will find incredible joy in the adventure. Since we are only on Earth for a little while, we should do things that will shine forever.

“Let it Shine!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your grace. Thank You for saving me and empowering me with the Holy Spirit so that I can live for You. Use my life to shine Your love and Truth to everyone around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May 30th 2017 – Believe God

“The official pleaded, “Lord, please come now before my little boy dies. Then Jesus told him, “Go back home. Your son will live!”  And the man believed what Jesus said and started home.” (John 4:49-50 )

How much stress and trouble could we avoid if we simply did what the father in John chapter 4 did? What if we stopped in the middle of crummy circumstances and sticky situations and chose to believe the Word that Jesus has spoken to us? Many of us read the newspaper or watch the news and believe it. We read stuff on the Internet and believe it. We read the Bible and sometimes we think, “Well, that doesn’t apply to me or my situation.”

Sometimes we believe our emotions, fickle though they are, over the Word of God. We listen to the skeptics and the naysayers. We listen to our experiences as well as our faulty interpretation of events. Of all the things that we can listen to and believe, the Word of God is the most reliable. It has proven its sturdiness many times through the centuries. It has outlasted all of its critics and still stands ever faithful and true. Many voices are calling out for your attention. Which one will you choose to act on and believe? I choose to believe Jesus and the Word He has spoken to me.

(Mark 9:23)  “Everything is possible for the person who believes!”

“We need to trust God, the Word of God and believe the Bible.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your steadfast love. Thank You that Your Word has stood the test of time and remains the source of truth and light for every situation in our lives. Please continue this work of opening my heart up to the amazing faithfulness of Your Bible. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

May 23rd 2017 – Jesus, the Great Physician

“And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you.” (Deuteronomy 7:15 )

God is not the author of sickness and disease.  He is the author of health and well-being.  Our Father is looking for ways to bring healing to us, not take it away from us.  When we do a study of the scriptures, we find over and over that our God is a God who heals His children. The Bible states that Jesus and the Father are one, and everywhere that Jesus went as He walked this earth, He never once put sickness on someone.

(Acts 10:38) says that Jesus, “went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.”  So we see that sickness is from the devil, and it came at the fall.

When satan came, he brought fear into this world and all of its deadly works, but God sent Jesus to destroy all of them for us.  What a Father we serve!  He is the “Great I Am,” not the “I Want To Be.”  He is at work in us, helping us and guiding us to bring a cure.

If it was up to the devil, he would keep us sick and miserable.  Do you really think that the devil would give us doctors and nurses and people that can help us?  No, I dont think so. Our Father has given us healing through His Word, and He has given great medicines and doctors, all because He loves us and wants us well.

So today, do not accept anything from the devil.  Accept everything that is good and comes from God, your Heavenly Father.  He loves you, and gave His all for you.  Learn His ways, and the light will always expose the darkness of the devil.

Let Dr. Jesus heal your Soul.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I will praise you in all of the circumstances that I face. I know that You only want the best for us. When sickness and disease from the enemy creeps into our life, You will provide a way for us to be healed. It may be healing of our body or healing of us spiritually. Today I receive healing in my body in Jesus Name.  God never gives sickness, so I can boldly say today that I am healed! In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Trying to face a serious illness without Jesus will get very overwhelming, you may even feel all alone.  If you do not know Him personally, I encourage you not to pass up the precious gift of His love and eternal life. May 21st 2017 – Outside Appearances

“Look at the obvious facts. Those who say they belong to Christ must recognize that we belong to Christ as much as they do.”(2 Corinthians 10:7)

It is easy to judge others. We take a quick glance at someone and because of what they are wearing or doing, we can easily jump to conclusions. As the body of Christ, we must be careful to not judge by the outside. While judging the outside may only take a moment, judging by inward motives takes time, thought and believing the best.

The people in the Bible all messed up. Adam, Noah, Moses, David, Peter, they had that in common. Know what else they had in common? They did not give up. They continued to trust the Lord and allowed Him to work in their lives. They were not perfect, but God used them. Did He use them because they looked a certain way? No, God used them because they were willing to follow Him.

When we started Scriptural Seeds Ministries, some people didnt think it was appropriate to carry the title of Pastor at all. Im a bit unpolished and still struggle. At first glance they are completely missing the evidence of God’s work in my life, and that I am an ordained Pastor and Evangelist personally ministering to people everyday.

In humbleness I share the following, because with God it’s much more then I could have ever imangined.

It’s been over 4 years since ScripturalSeeds.org was started, we have never asked or received any donations outside of what we personally gave ourselves. However with God, and with much perseverance and prayer. ScripturalSeeds.org has had millions of views in over 70 countries. Utilizing Google translation services an analytics, as of this morning, 17,044 people in the last 4 years acknowledged that they have read the prayer of salvation and acknowledged Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

How about you? Are you looking only on the outside when you meet someone? Ask God to give you eyes to see past the outside, so that you can show the love of Christ to everyone you meet.

Do not judge people and circumstances by outside appearances”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I know there have been times I judged someone based on the outside appearance. Especially when we should not judge at all.  Forgive me and help me to look past those things so I can be a blessing to them. Give me a heart for those who others may cast aside. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May 20th 2017 – Living In God’s Power

“And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, ‘Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.’” (Acts 8:18-19)

In this passage, Simon thought he could buy the power of the Holy Spirit. Simon wanted this power so that he could impress others. That is not what the power of God is for. The power of God is given that we may live for Him. We have the power of God that our lives might demonstrate God’s work changing us. We should be good stewards by using our power and resources to reach people. We should want to encourage people in their faith. Throughout the Bible, we see Jesus using His power to touch lives, and He did so without weird displays. I believe this gives us our model of what using that power looks like. Why do you desire supernatural power? Hopefully it is to bless others. How do you use your God given resources? Is it to bless and reach others? I hope that it is. With what we have been given, we can make a difference in the hereafter by making a difference in the here and now.

“The Holy Spirit Gives us Limitless Power”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, All the good things in my life have come from You. My life, my strength, my wisdom, and all that I am or hope to be is a gift from You. I want to use my power, strength, and resources to reach a lost and dying world. We know from Your life, Jesus, that You cared about people. As I follow You, help me to care for others. Help me to use what You have given me wisely as a good steward to reach others. In the name of Yeshua, Jesus, Amen.

May 19th 2017 – Faith and Trust

“A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, on Shigionoth. O LORD, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy .” (Habakkuk 3:1-2)

Babylon was about to take Judah; Babylon, who’s gates must have bulged with wickedness, more so than all of Israel. Habakkuk couldn’t understand how God could use evil in the lives of the righteous to produce His good purposes. You’ve probably have pondered the same question.

It is so difficult to understand how God, in His sovereignty, is able to use bad things to produce good results – yet He does. Do you ever look back at the potholes of your life and realize God was at work? It’s so much easier to comprehend God’s work in your life looking back than when in the midst of trials, yet we should be confident that God is ultimately in control.

(Psalm 20:7) “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.”

It is so hard not to place our trust in man’s wisdom – man’s creations and power – our assumptions. Yet there is One who calls it all foolishness. When troubles come, where do you place your trust? Your actions reveal it. Where do you go? The Bible, prayer, godly counsel – these are the refuge of those who place their trust in God. Faith is not only what you believe in, it’s what you put your trust in. When in the midst of trials, know that God is with you. Don’t lose heart!

“Faith isn’t just what you believe in; it’s what you put your trust in.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for who You are and for Your love, grace, and mercy. Lord, I am so grateful You are patient with me. I thank You for all the things You have so freely given to me. Lord, there are things in my life that I need to change. It’s not easy to trust sometimes, and I am sorry. Help my doubt. Help me to keep my eyes on You. Empower me through my trials and uncertainties to trust in You. I submit my life to You wholeheartedly. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
