July 6th 2018 – Overcomer

“He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne” (Revelation 3:21)

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” (John 5:4)

We are world overcomers not because of who we are or some great feat that we have accomplished, but because we are born of God.  When we made Jesus the Lord and Savior of our lives we were born into His family, the family of God.

All God says to us to do is believe it.  The second part of this verse states, this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.  Our faith is our belief of Who God is, what He has and what He can do.  Our faith is our knowing that God is for us and not against us.  Our faith is our trust that He has made us world overcomers.  So again, it’s not about us but it’s about Christ in us, the hope of glory.

Today, see yourself as one who overcomes the world and not one who is overtaken by the world.  See yourself as the victorious one, because you are in Him.  Remember He lives inside of you.  Who lives inside of us?  The Greater One lives in you, the One who created the stars and every living thing, the One who died on the cross for you.  He didn’t die at Calvary’s hill for Himself, He did it all for you, and He wants you to partake of all that He paid for you to have.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Today, I am a world overcomer because of You who lives in me.  I believe this by faith. My faith is in trusting you God and believing that what you said is true. I am a world overcomer. Thank You Lord for loving me and being involved in my life. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

July 4th 2018 – A Call of Revival

“Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?” (Psalm 85:6)

On 4th of July we celebrate our Independence. We come together and have family get togethers and watch fireworks. This is a tradition that Americans have celebrated for close to two hundred and fifty years. But we need to ask ourselves this one very important question today?

What is the future of the United States of America? Are we doomed to just go the way that so many other once-great nations have gone? Is America headed to the ash heap of history? Are our greatest days behind us, or could they still yet be ahead? Is there any hope for America?

No one can answer those questions with any certainty, but we know this much: America is not the superpower of the last days. The greatest nation on earth is conspicuous in her absence from the world stage in the end-times scenario given to us in the Bible. America is not the first, nor will it be the last, nation to rise and fall. Every nation’s days are numbered; America is no exception.

Rome was once the mightiest empire on the face of the earth. But she collapsed internally before she was conquered externally. We as a country can be diligent to guard against enemies on the outside, but we would be wise to look within.

Historian and author Will Durant, published in his book (Rome’s history, Caesar and Christ) said, “A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within. The essential causes of Rome’s decline lay in her people, her morals. . ..”

The difference between Rome and the U.S. is that we were founded on Judeo-Christian values. We’ve strayed from the original vision of our founding fathers, the vision that produced “America.”

What was once “freedom of religion” has now become “freedom from religion.” We have succeeded in getting God out of our schools, sporting events, public venues, and workplaces. Instead of Christmas, when we should focus on Jesus, we have Happy Holidays and Winter Solstice. Instead of Good Friday and Easter, we have Spring Break. It seems to me that America has gone out her way of late to turn from God. But America needs God’s intervention.

We saw many people turn to the Lord after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Remember all those prayer vigils on street corners and packed churches? Remember the members of Congress spontaneously singing “God Bless America”? These memories give me hope that there could be at least one more great revival in America’s future.

If we do not have revival, I do believe that judgment is inevitable.  The choice before us is plain, Christ or chaos, conviction or compromise, discipline or disintegration.

God was able to turn the very wicked nation of Nineveh around in the days of Jonah. We know there have been some great spiritual awakenings in our history as well.

America needs an awakening, but the church needs a revival. We often use the words revival and awakening interchangeably, but there is a distinction. An awakening is when a nation comes alive spiritually, sees its need for God, and turns to Him. A revival is when God’s people turn back to the true word of God, not the watered down feel good social club that many of the Churchs has become. A revival is when Gods chruch body comes back to life again spiritually.

“Then we will not turn back from You; revive us, and we will call upon Your name.”(Psalm 80:18)

Revival is coming back. It is waking up. Revival is getting back to the Christian life as it was meant to be lived. Revival is being in the bloom of first love for a lifetime, walking closely with the Lord. Our love for the Lord can grow deeper. Our love can grow stronger.

That is how we need to be as followers of Jesus. We need the faith of the Christians of the first century, the faith that turned the world upside down.

Only God can send an awakening to America. But revival can happen right here, right now.

“Let’s pray that America will turn back to God in these last days.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I humbly plead for Your underserved mercy upon my life, the church, our great nation and the world. Lord, help us and the leaders of this country come before You with deep awareness that we deserve
Your judgment far more than Your blessing. By Jesus’ blood alone, we plead for Your merciful grace to revive and bless us once again. Lord please send overwhelming conviction of sin, deep brokenness and genuine repentance among Your people. Grant to us the true godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Fill us with holy fear and reverence for Your name. Mighty God, please come upon our pastors with deep repentance, dynamic power and renewed passion for Yourself. Grant to him a mighty wall of protection from the world, the flesh and the devil. Righteous God, grant to us a burning hunger for Yourself and a passion for fervent prayer. Help us draw near to You and seek You with all our hearts. Lord, cause
us to hunger and thirst for You above all else. Help us lead our churches to become houses of prayer for all nations. Lord, please bring us to loving unity in our churches and a deep harmony between our churches. Help us tear down the strongholds of bickering and disunity that so ravage Your Church. Please fill us with a burning passion to pray for and witness to the lost. Cause our eyes to weep for souls that we may reap in joy. We humbly ask for a mighty move of conviction and salvation in government leaders and others who influence culture. We ask You to pour out convicting, saving power upon our government, colleges, universities, media networks and the Hollywood movie industry. We ask that you so move that millions will be converted to Christ in these
strategic communities of cultural influence. Righteous Lord, we ask You to send sweeping revival even if it
takes hard times and great trials to prepare the soil of our hearts. Father, we pray not for shallow selfish ends, but for Your great glory and kingdom. Cause us to come to You in true humility, brokenness and contriteness of heart. May this be time Lord, that this nation falls on its knees in prayer. In Your Glorious and Holy Name. Amen!

July 2nd 2018 – Shadow of The Cross

“After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died.” (1 Corinthians 15:6)

They had known Jesus before His death and again saw Him after His resurrection. Surely, this group of believers was blessed to know Christ personally. I can imagine there would be no other group of individuals on earth who would long more passionately for His return. After all, they had sat and listened to His teaching. They broke bread in fellowship with Him. They experienced the pain of watching Him die and then experienced the pure joy of seeing Him alive again! After He ascended to heaven, they must have thought, “Any day now He will come again for us.”

Now let’s fast forward 2000 years… and we still wait. While we may never have spoken to Jesus face to face, we continue to go to Him in prayer. While He has not eaten at our dinner tables, we take communion at His. Each day, we stand in the shadow of the cross and what He has done for us, and we long for His return. But waiting is not passive, it’s active. Until He comes again, we continue to share the amazing story of God’s love for sinners and the death of Christ on our behalf. It’s a timeless truth that will ring throughout eternity from today in our world until long after He has come again.

“We should live in the expectation of the return of Jesus.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I look forward to the coming of Your Son and His Kingdom that will follow. Help me to remember that this world is a temporary place and that my true home is with Christ. Until He returns, give me strength, wisdom and opportunities to tell others about our coming King. Keep us in the Shadow of the Cross we will wait for Your Glorious and Triumphant return. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

July 1st 2018 – Prayer, Continuously Connected!

“Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.” (Luke 18:1)

Why should we pray? The simple answer is because Jesus told us to. Jesus himself was a model of prayer. He was always praying.

In the Garden of Gethsemane as Jesus contemplated the horrors of the cross, He prayed, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” (Matthew 26:39).

On the cross, Jesus prayed for His enemies, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34).

Before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, we read that He lifted up His eyes to Heaven and prayed.

Father, thank you for hearing me. You always hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me.” (John 11:41-42).

And before Jesus fed the 5,000, “He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to Heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes” (Matthew 14:19)

The Bible also tells us that mothers would bring their children to Jesus for Him to lay His hands on them and pray for them.

“Parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. (Matthew 19:13 Partial)

If Jesus felt the need to pray, then how much more should we feel it? Jesus was God, yet He prayed all the time, even through the night.

We are commanded to pray. We ought to pray. We should pray because Jesus told us to. But to make a point, let’s just say that prayer was the most painful thing you could do, like getting a root canal. If you’ve ever had one, you know it’s miserable. But because of what results from it, you believe it’s worth it. In the same way, if prayer were painful, you probably would pray anyway because you know it’s worth it.

Thankfully, prayer isn’t like a having a root canal. It isn’t difficult or painful. So let’s pray and never give up.

“Our prayer life shouldn’t be relegated to just crisis control. It’s meant to be continual connection with Christ.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,  please give me the grace to make and keep time set aside to worship, connect, and dialogue with You in prayer. Please forgive me when I push aside that time and don’t take it seriously. Help me to hear from You according to Your word and allow You to speak into my life that I might commune with You always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

June 24th 2018 – Call To Me – I Will Answer

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

“The Lord is good to those who wait hopefully and expectantly for Him, to those who seek Him.” (Lamentations 3:25)

Sometimes I see God answer my prayers right away. I’m excited, thankful and ready to tell everyone about His goodness. Then, there are those other times when my prayers linger and miracles seem far away. As time goes on, I would start to doubt that God even heard me.

I didnt accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior until I was 37. When I was first learning how to pray If my prayers were answered quickly, I’d give Jesus praises,  tell everyone about it and then move on to my next request. But, if time went on and  didn’t show up, I’d get discouraged and frustrated. My waiting turned to worry. My perseverance shifted to sadness and disparity.

At times waiting on God to answer prayers was like playing a game. Who would last the longest? Would I continue to ask, plead and persevere? Or would I give up first because I was tired of waiting? Or maybe God would give me what I wanted because He was tired of hearing all my whining and complaining.

Lord, why haven’t You answered my prayers? What are You waiting for? Can’t You see me struggling? You’re taking too long and I just don’t understand why.

I began to think God might be holding out on me. Maybe I wasnt deserving, He really didn’t care about me. Or, maybe my circumstances weren’t important enough to Him.

But as I grew in my relationship with the Lord and learned to understand His character, my attitude changed. I realized how much God loves me and knows the desires tucked deep inside my heart. He promises to meet my needs (Philippians 4:19), and His miracles are not a thing of the past.

Today’s key verse tells us that after we pray and ask God for a need, want or desire, we should wait with expectancy and hope.

You might be thinking, Rob, you just don’t understand. I’ve been waiting for God to answer my prayers for so long.

Maybe you’ve resigned to believing there’s no hope. Sure, you started out confident and faith-filled, but as time goes by you’ve started to wonder if any good can come from your circumstances. Maybe you’ve wrapped an invisible wall around your heart so you won’t be disappointed if God doesn’t come through for you.

I understand. I’ve been there. I’ve felt that way, too, and it’s a lonely place to live each day. So what does it look like to have an attitude of hope and expectancy as we wait on the Lord to answer our prayers?

I’ve learned to intentionally shift my focus to three things:

(1) God’s Promises: I read Bible verses and speak them aloud daily. As the power of God’s Word weaves hope into my prayers, encouragement fills the empty places in my heart. I’m reminded once again of God’s unfailing love and faithfulness.

(2) Praise & Worship: I listen to praise music throughout the day in my house, car and at work in my office. The lyrics and melodies splash over me with joy as I sing along. I sense God’s peace and pleasure and in those sweet moments, my worries fade, turning my doubts into confident expectancy.

(3) Thanksgiving: I thank God for the answered prayers and miracles in my past. I remember how God always came through in those tough times of great need, and I thank Him in advance for His answers yet to come.

If you’ve asked God for answers but find yourself waiting longer than you planned, take a moment now to thank Him in advance for His answer. Trust that He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Don’t give up. Look forward in hope and expectancy for Him to respond and remember that the Lord is good to those who seek Him.

No matter how long it takes, when God works, It’s always worth the wait.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for remaining faithful to me. Help me have hope and expectancy as I wait for Your answers to my prayers. And during the extended times when you are waiting for the perfect moment to answer or just waiting on me to be ready, may I contine to give you my praises and wait with a heart of gratitude because your Grace is more then sufficent for me. I thank you for Leading me and Loving me.In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

June 23rd 2018 – Trials and Temptations

Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world. (1 Peter 4:12-13)

It has been said that Christians are a lot like teabags; you don’t know what they’re made of until you put them into hot water. Maybe you’re in hot water right now. Maybe you’re going through what we might describe as a fiery trial. The good news is you are not the first person to go through it, and certainly will you be the last. Know that you are not alone in your trial.

And here is something else to consider: going through a trial or a temptation is a confirmation that you are on the right track as a Christian. If you were to say, “You know, as a Christian I can’t remember the last time I was tempted,” my question would be, “What is wrong with you?” I know personally that the devil sets his sights on those who are a threat to the kingdom of God.

You shouldn’t be surprised or shocked if you are tempted or tested. In (1 Peter 4:12–13) we’re told, “Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.”

Hardship, temptation, tragedy, and the loss of loved one’s will come into our lives one day. Trials and temptations will come too. Take steps now to be prepared for that. Don’t say, “That will never happen to me.”

It will happen to you. Life is filled with pain. Granted, some have more than others, but every life will have some. We should gather this truth into our hearts so we are prepared when trials and temptations come our way.

“Trials and temptations will come. Take steps now to be prepared for that.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we call upon You in the middle of trials, That You give us the strength and will to bear our heavy burdens, until we can again feel the warmth and love of Your divine compassion. Protect us in our temptations. Be mindful of us and have mercy on us while we struggle to comprehend life’s trials and temptations that come in our of life. When fear and panic, shock and dismay are close by, so are you. Maywe always recconize you ,  Keep us ever in Your watch until these storms of life pass. In Jesus’ precious and glorious name, Amen.

June 22nd 2018 – Wars and Rumors of Wars

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14)

Recently we have been wittnessing a deranged madman threating the United States and our allies with his attomic bombs.  The United Nations has been trying to reason with Kim Jong-Un without success for years.

North Korea even told the U.S. that he has declared war on the US and plans to attack us with bombs and biological warfare.

Now all of a sudden he is now appearing to cooperate with the world. Please don’t let this fool you. Unless he has had a life changing experience with the one True God, (which he has never publically announced) be on guard!

This is the type of man not reasonable. A couple of years back he had his own uncle and defense minister publicly executed with an anti-aircraft gun for falling asleep during a military meeting.

The reality is, this kind of behavior is just not normal from the head of a countries leader. We realize more and more that we cannot put hope in man’s ability to not make war.

We are witnessing a time where we are seeing everyday people walking around like zombies, drugged out of their minds. Blatant Sin is more evident than any other time I have seen. Earthquakes one after another, huricanes with such unbelievable power, wars and rumors of war.

When we read the Bible it helps us to take the blinders off to the things happening in the world. It helps us to understand that we are in the last days. Understanding the Bible will also bring us hope!

“The Bible gives us hope and knowledge. If we have no Bible, we have no knowledge, we have no hope. If we have no hope, life becomes a daunting task.”

When we study the Bible, God reveals all kinds of information to us. God removes our ignorance through revealing the Bible to us. With receiving the Bible, we receive knowledge, we receive hope and we receive forgiveness.

We do not have to be without hope, we can know Him who gives hope. We do not have to be without knowledge, we can know Him who gives knowledge. We do not have to be without forgiveness we can know Him, who gives forgiveness. Jesus.

Do you want to know Jesus? Are these things missing from your life? Rededicate your life to the Lord right now.

Pray something like this from your heart…

Dear Jesus,
I believe You died for me so I could be forgiven. I believe You were raised from the dead so I could have a new life. I have done wrong things, and I am sorry. Please forgive me for all those things. Please give me Your Spirit and Your power to live for You the rest of my life. Amen.

June 15th 2018 – God’s Strengh in the Battle

“Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” (1 Samuel 17:47)

The reasons that the giants of life defeat us again and again because we try to face them in our own strength. Rember that the battle belongs to the Lord. That is why David said this to Goliath, “Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands” (1 Samuel 17:47).

Ephesians 6 tells about the various pieces of armor that believers are to wear. But before a single piece of armor is applied, Paul gives us these words: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might” (Ephesians 6:10).

I recognize I am weak, but at the same time, I acknowledge that God is great and powerful. I need to know that I cannot win the spiritual battle in my own strength. Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).

We need to know about the incredible resources God has made available to us as Christians. Paul prayed that the believers at Ephesus would discover what God had done for them. He said, “Therefore I . . . do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints” (Ephesians 1:15-18)

“We often pray for God to protect and remove us from the battle. He calls us instead to trust Him in it.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I am in the middle of spiritual warfare, I come to You for guidance and strength in this battle against the enemy. He is a theif that is seeking to destroy my life and my family. Today with Your help I wish to destroy spiritual strongholds, Cast down evil imaginations. Casting down every high thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. I am claiming Victory in the name of Jesus Christ! Thank you for guiding my steps and keeping me from placing my hope in anything that is not from You. I pray that you’ll give me the power to remember all the good you are doing in and through my life no matter the circumstances. Please give me the strength to live for You and trust in You in all the ways You have set before me. I love you Lord and will stand firm in all battles because You are with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

June 14th 2018 – Jesus The Great Physician

“And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you.” (Deuteronomy 7:15 )

God is not the author of sickness and disease.  He is the author of health and well-being.  Our Father is looking for ways to bring healing to us, not take it away from us.  When we do a study of the scriptures, we find over and over that our God is a God who heals His children. The Bible states that Jesus and the Father are one, and everywhere that Jesus went as He walked this earth, He never once put sickness on someone.

(Acts 10:38) says that Jesus, “went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.”  So we see that sickness is from the devil, and it came at the fall.

When satan came, he brought fear into this world and all of its deadly works, but God sent Jesus to destroy all of them for us.  What a Father we serve!  He is the “Great I Am,” not the “I Want To Be.”  He is at work in us, helping us and guiding us to bring a cure.

If it was up to the devil, he would keep us sick and miserable.  Do you really think that the devil would give us doctors and nurses and people that can help us?  No, I dont think so. Our Father has given us healing through His Word, and He has given great medicines and doctors, all because He loves us and wants us well.

So today, do not accept anything from the devil.  Accept everything that is good and comes from God, your Heavenly Father.  He loves you, and gave His all for you.  Learn His ways, and the light will always expose the darkness of the devil.

Let Dr. Jesus heal your Soul.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I will praise you in all of the circumstances that I face. I know that You only want the best for us. When sickness and disease from the enemy creeps into our life, You will provide a way for us to be healed. It may be healing of our body or healing of us spiritually. Today I receive healing in my body in Jesus Name.  God never gives sickness, so I can boldly say today that I am healed! In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

June 13th 2018 – Praise and Glorify God

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God,” (1 Corinthians 10:31-32)

Can you imagine what it would look like to do everything for the glory of God? Everything, not just our worship on Sunday mornings, but every aspect of life dedicated to glorifying our Lord. As you step out of bed in the morning, your mind is praising the Lord for His mercies. As you eat, you are thanking God for the food He has provided. As you sit in a traffic jam, you are singing praises to God for your life and that opportunity to be still and know He is God. Yes, anything and everything can be a sweet offering to our Lord when we purpose in our hearts to glorify His holy name.

Of course, many people may not appreciate your attitude or diligent work ethic. Don’t let it bring you down, it won’t matter because you’re doing it for the glory of God and not for the approval of others. Your purpose and meaning are to glorify our Lord and He is blessed as you serve Him with all your heart. So whatever you do in the course of your day, set your mind on glorifying God and watch as He uses you to be a blessing to others and a witness of His grace.

Do all that you do for the glory of God.

Prayer:

My personal prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your amazing grace and the love You have shown me. Lord, continue fill me with Your Spirit and equip me to do everything for Your glory whether great or small. May my heart and mind be focused on You today and use me to share Your goodness with a world in need. Even now as the enemy is trying his best to take my life, crush my spirit. My faith in your ability and promises has supercharged my praise and glory. Thank you for the church body that came together to pray for me. I praise you for the beautiful people that you have brought into my life. I am claiming that I will be supernaturally healed. May my life bless You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
