We are on the 7th day of a 9-day journey to learn about all of the Fruit of the Spirit – the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from God.

Faith (faithfulness) – “O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth” (Isaiah 25:1). “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith” (Ephesians 3:16-17).

It is increasingly difficult to find someone whose love or loyalty can be counted on. So many people are fickle and faithless. It’s sad to read the apostle Paul’s prophecy of wretched attitudes and habits “in the last days”  “For men will be lovers of themselves …blasphemers…unloving…slanderers…traitors…” (2 Timothy 3:1) He continues “The consequences to society are disastrous.” ( 2 Timothy 3:2-4)

Marriages and families are a major casualty. Fewer and fewer people are willing to make lifelong commitments. And a great many who do make wedding vows (even “before God”) later on break those vows in one way or another. When someone cheats on or deserts his or her mate, God says “you have dealt treacherously [with]…your companion by covenant” (Malachi 2:14-16) God hates these forms of unfaithfulness.

All good relationships are built on the foundation of faith and faithfulness, of mutual trust born out of trustworthiness. A good marriage is largely defined as a faithful wife and faithful husband. A good friend is a true friend or a faithful friend, not a “fair-weather friend,” but one who “loves at all times” (Proverbs 17:17) Paraphrased. A good employee is a trustedand dependable employee.

Although all people sometimes fail at faithfulness, we can always count on God. That is what enables us to have complete faith and trust in Him. It’s vital that we respond to the faithfulness of God the Father and Jesus Christ with deep and abiding faith, so that we will then give Them our very best—our utmost allegiance, fidelity, obedience and devotion.

Do you trust God completely? So much so that you live accordingly—to the point that He is able to trust you? When Jesus Christ returns, wouldn’t it be wonderful to hear Him say approvingly, “Well done, good and faithful servant”?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, If I have been without faith to you or others, I ask that You would forgive me. Lord, You remain faithful to us regardless of how unfaithful we are. I thank You for this and ask that You would give me the strength to remain loyal to my family, friends and church. Use me to display Your faithfulness to a world that needs it. Thank You for Your steadfast love. Thank You that Your Word has stood the test of time and remains the source of truth and light for every situation in our lives. Please continue this work of opening my heart up to the amazing faithfulness of Your Bible. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

We are on the 6th day of a 9-day journey to learn about all of the Fruit of the Spirit – the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from God

Goodness – “Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power” (2 Thessalonians 1:11). “For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth” (Ephesians 5:9 ).

According to the Bible, badness comes naturally. “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.” (Romans 8:7) Goodness does not. But God has a wondrous plan to radically transform our character!

Though our natural inclination is to defy God in sin, He has determined to help us overcome that nature to live a life of righteousness and goodness. This is possible only through a relationship with Him. As the apostle John explained, “He who does good [as a way of life] is of God, but he who does evil [as a way of life] has not seen God [i.e., has not come to really know Him]” (3 John 1:11)

John also explained that those who truly are of God have God living in them through the Holy Spirit: “By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit” (1 John 4:13)

The Paul explained to believers that God’s perfect, loving character is “poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us” (Romans 5:5)

People speak of a life of comfort and affluence as “the good life.” But living a life close to God with all the great benefits He offers is the truly good life! Allow God to cultivate in you the good fruit of goodness. And that will lead to the gift of eternal life! That’s as good as it gets! 

You can receive the gift of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ. Below is a link with a very special prayer that will help guide you into Jesus’s loving arms.  I personally could not imangine a life without Jesus. He truly has saved my life.

“God knows how much we love Him by how much we are showing self-sacrificing love for other people.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for ALL that You have given me. Thank You for my friends and Family. I am grateful for Your love, Your mercy and the gift of eternal life through Jesus. Thank You for the blessings of life. Teach me to have a thankful heart and to share this gratefulness with others. Continue to guide me and teach me to develop these spiritual fruits in my life that I can be more like You Lord. Help me exhibit Goodness in all that I do. Protect me from the enemy and his evil schemes. I love You and am so greatful that You are in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

August 17th 2025 – Fruit of the Spirit – Part 5 of 9

We are on the 5th day of a 9-day journey to learn about all of the fruit of the Spirit – the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from God.

Gentleness (kindness) — We should live “in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left” (2 Corinthians 6:6-7).

Let’s take a look at what, according to Scripture, accompanies true kindness: “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each another, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:31-32)

To consistently live up to all this is humanly impossible! But “with God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26)

Kindness starts with caring —being tenderhearted and compassionate toward others. (Proverbs 12:10)

We must make it our goal and habit to be actively looking for opportunities to show kindness. When we see one, we need to act quickly before the opportunity is gone.

“Dear children, let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions” (1 John 3:18)

Some people think kindness is weak—not something for “go-getters” to be bothered with. Big mistake! If we want God, who has ultimate control of how things go, to be kind to us, we’d better be kind to others. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew 5:7)

Lack of kindness is epidemic. The apostle Paul accurately foretold a cold and hard-hearted world “in the last days” (2 Timothy 3:1-2)

Jesus Christ practiced kindness that was radical for that time and culture. He always had great concern for women as well as men, for children as well as adults, for other races as well as the Jewish race, and for the sick and weak as well as the strong. Often He wore Himself out praying for people, healing people, feeding people and helping them in other ways.

When Jesus looked on the multitudes of people with all their problems, sicknesses and confusion, He was “moved with compassion” (Matthew 9:36, 14:14, 18:27)

As we look at the people around us, we, too, should be moved with gentleness, compassion and kindness. We, too, should be helping, giving, sharing, caring, encouraging, extending mercy, filled with compassion and acting on it as we are able.

With each of us, may the fruit of kindness continue to blossom and grow. Above all, may we strive to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ, who personified God’s heart in the greatest example of loving-kindness.

“Gentleness and Kindness starts with caring—being tenderhearted and compassionate toward others.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for the forgiveness of my sins and for giving me the opportunity to experience life more abundantly. Lord, thank You for revealing Yourself to me through Your Word. I want learn how offer gentleness, kindness and compassion to others in a way that You teach. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

August 16th 2025 – Fruit of the Spirit – Part 4 of 9

We are on the 4th day of a 9-day journey to learn about all of the fruit of the Spirit – the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from God.

Patience (Longsuffering) — We are “strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness” (Colossians 1:11)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)

“Patience” in Galatians 5:22-23 literally means “long temper,” in the sense of “the ability to hold one’s temper for a long time.” The NKJV translates it “longsuffering.” A patient person is able to endure much pain and suffering without complaining. A patient person is slow to anger as he waits for God to provide comfort and punish wrongdoing. Since it is a fruit of the Spirit, we can only possess patience through the power and work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

God is patient with sinners. (Romans 2:4) says that God’s patience leads to our repentance. (Romans 9:22) points out that only God’s patience prevents Him from destroying “the objects of his wrath.” Paul glorifies the Lord for His “unlimited patience” that saved him, “the worst of sinners” (1 Timothy 1:16). Peter highlights the patience of God in (1 Peter 3:20), pointing out that God had immense patience with the evil people of Noah’s day, delaying judgment as long as possible

The opposite of patience is agitation, discouragement, and a desire for revenge. God does not want His children to live in agitation but in peace (John 14:27). He wants to dispel discouragement and replace it with hope and praise (Psalm 42:5). We are not to avenge ourselves; rather, we are to love others (Romans 12:19; Leviticus 19:18).

God is patient, and His Spirit produces the fruit of patience in us. When we are patient, we leave room for God to work in our hearts and in our relationships. We lay down our schedule and trust in God’s. We thank the Lord for what and whom He’s brought into our lives. We let God be God.

“With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2).

“Today, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved” 

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your grace and for being so patient with me. Father, help me to walk with patience and grace and to share Your love and mercy with others. In this world of pain, help me to trust in You even when I may not understand all that is happening around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

August 15th 2025 – Fruit of the Spirit – Part 3 of 9

We are on the 3rd day of a 9-day journey to learn about all of the fruit of the Spirit – the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from God.

What is the Fruit of the Peace?

“If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.” (Romans 12:18)

We are born at war. At birth, our sinful nature has already declared war on God and His truth. Our heart’s desire is to be separated from Him, and if we persist in this desire until death, He will give us what we want.

But God’s methods of warfare are not what we expected. Instead of a battle, He sent us the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus’ goal in coming to earth was more than simply to cease hostilities; He came to bring about a full and abiding relationship of restoration and love. The cost of this peace was His life (Isaiah 53:5).

But, just as we cannot force another to be at peace with us, even Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross did not ensure that we would accept His terms of peace. Romans 3:10-11 explains, “There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God.” None of us can accept Jesus’ offer of peace through our own will and power. Our natural selves do not want it. Only God can lead us to want peace with Him; the Holy Spirit leads us to want Jesus and His message. Once the Spirit draws us, we believe in Jesus, and the peace comes. “Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).

The Spirit-filled Christian has a peace that is abundant, available in every situation, and unlike anything that the world has to offer.

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).

The alternative to being filled with the Spirit and His peace is to be filled with alarm, filled with doubt, filled with foreboding, or filled with dread. How much better to let the Spirit have control and perform His work of growing fruit to the glory of God!

“Do all that you can to live in peace with one another.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the work done on my behalf. Beacuse of Your sacrifice on the cross and my acceptance of You in my heart, I do not have to be anxious about my salvation. I place my faith in the grace of Christ. Please give me rest and an abundance of peace in my life. Help me to continually seek You in my life, because it is in You where I will find true peace. Help me live by Your word and draw on Your love so that I can be at peace with others when they annoy me. I Love You Lord, and I choose Peace. Today open up opportunities to share this truth with the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We are on the 2nd day of a 9-day journey to learn about all of the fruit of the Spirit – the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from God.

What is the Fruit of the Spirit?
When you think of the word fruit, you probably think of something like an apple or a banana, right? Well when Paul talks about the “fruit of the Spirit” he is not referring to piece of fruit that you might eat with your lunch. What Paul has in mind here is what comes out of a person who has been filled with the Holy Spirit.

Lots of things and situations can make us happy, but what does it mean to have joy? True joy comes from knowing and following Jesus, and God gives us joy as one of the fruit of the Spirit.

Jesus said to His disciples, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11). That sounds almost too good to be true! How can we experience this fullness of joy?

“The joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).

Unfortunately, the world has a shortage of joy and a surplus of fear, worry, discouragement and depression. Even the “pursuit of happiness” and obsessive pleasure-seeking do not bring deep and lasting joy.

Biblical joy—the true joy—comes from filling the spiritual void with good relationships, primarily an intimate relationship with the One who is pure joy. Jesus put it this way: “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit”(John 15:5). That fruit includes much joy!

What then? Our unique joy begins because Christ lives in us. (Galatians 2:20). He tells us to “rejoice because your names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:20). We then have an intimate relationship with the One” Psalms 43:4 calls “God my exceeding joy.” In His presence “is fullness of joy” (Psalms 16:11).

“Joy is not found in the absence of challenges, but in the presence of a loving God who fills our hearts with strength and hope.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I welcome you into my heart. I thank you for your Joy and Happiness, and the spiritual fruits that you gave to me. True Joy is not possible without the presense of Your Holy Spirit in me. I love You Lord.. In Jesus’ name I thank you and praise you. Amen.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)

The term “Fruit of the Spirit” encapsulates the nine essential attributes that should define a genuine Christian life. These attributes—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—are not simply individual traits to be selected at will. Instead, they collectively represent the singular fruit that characterizes those who truly walk in the Holy Spirit. Every Christian is called to embody these qualities as a testament to their journey with Jesus Christ.

The fruit of the Spirit serves as a tangible reflection of a believer’s transformed life. To grow in our faith, it’s crucial to explore and embrace these nine attributes:

Over the next eight days, we will dive into the Nine Biblical Attributes of the Fruit of the Spirit. Let’s start with the first: Love.

Love

“We know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” (1 John 4:16)

In our relationship with Jesus Christ, our ultimate aim should be to act in love. As stated in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

Fruit of the Spirit = Visible Growth in Jesus Christ

“In every act of love, we reflect the heart of God; it is through love that we uncover the true essence of our faith.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I invite you into my heart. While I await the day I can be with you, I thank you for making your home within me through the Holy Spirit. I am grateful for your love and the gift of love you’ve bestowed upon me. The true essence of love can only flourish through the presence of Your Holy Spirit in my life. I love You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I thank you and praise you. Amen.

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)


Surrendering is often viewed as a sign of weakness, but in the Christian faith, it is a profound act of strength. To surrender means to relinquish control, to yield our will to God’s purpose, and to trust in His wisdom and love. When we say, “I surrender,” we are choosing to place our lives, our struggles, and our dreams in the hands of our Creator.

Consider the life of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. In His moment of anguish, He prayed, “Not my will, but yours be done.” This was a surrender not just to suffering but to the divine plan that would lead to redemption. When we surrender, we align ourselves with God’s desires rather than clinging to our own.

What Does It Truly Mean to Surrender?

  1. Trust: Surrendering means trusting God even when the path is unclear. It’s acknowledging that His plans are greater than our understanding.
  2. Letting Go of Control: It’s about releasing the tight grip we often hold on our lives, recognizing that we cannot foresee every twist and turn. In surrender, we find freedom.
  3. Seeking His Will: True surrender involves seeking God’s will over our own. It’s a daily commitment to align our desires with His purpose.
  4. Embracing Peace: When we surrender, we open ourselves to the peace that surpasses all understanding. We can let go of anxiety and fear, knowing that God is in control.

Surrender is not a one-time event; it’s a continuous journey of faith. Each day, we are called to lay down our burdens and trust God’s path for us. As we surrender, we discover the depth of His love and the beauty of living in His grace.

“To surrender is to place our hearts in the hands of the One who knows our every dream and fear, trusting that His plans will lead us to a peace far beyond our understanding.”

Prayer:

August 11th 2025 – Embracing the Holy Spirit

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.” (John 14:16-17)

As we journey through our faith, it’s essential to remember the incredible gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised us that He would send the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter, Helper, and Guide. This promise is not just a historical fact; it is a living reality for every believer today.

The Holy Spirit dwells within us, making His presence known in our thoughts, actions, and decisions. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we experience a profound transformation. This filling goes beyond mere knowledge; it empowers us to live out our faith with boldness and grace.

“Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18)

In Ephesians 5:18, Paul encourages us to be filled with the Spirit. This filling is not a one-time event but an ongoing process. Just as we need to drink water daily to sustain our physical bodies, we must continually seek the filling of the Holy Spirit to nourish our spiritual lives.

Take a moment to sit quietly and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you anew. Reflect on any areas of your life where you need His guidance or empowerment. As you go about your day, be attentive to His leading and promptings, allowing His presence to transform your heart and actions.

Look for opportunities to serve others today, whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or sharing an encouraging scripture. Allow the Holy Spirit to work through you, making an impact in someone else’s life as you reflect His love and grace.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I recognize that I cannot live out my faith on my own; I need Your Spirit to guide and fill me. Help me to desire Your presence in my life and to seek Your filling daily. May the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—be evident in my life. Teach me to be sensitive to Your leading and to walk in obedience to Your Word.

I pray that as I am filled with Your Spirit, I would reflect Christ’s love to those around me and boldly share the hope I have in You. Thank You for not leaving me alone but for providing me with the Holy Spirit to empower me each day. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

August 10th 2025 – Majesty in Every Moment

“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.” (Psalm 8:1)

Psalm 8:1 invites us into a moment of awe and worship, reminding us of the majesty and glory of God. The psalmist begins with a powerful acknowledgment of God’s sovereignty and magnificence. When we consider the grandeur of creation—from the vastness of the universe to the delicate beauty of a flower—we are compelled to recognize the greatness of the Creator.

God’s name is not just a title; it embodies His character, His power, and His love. The psalmist expresses a deep reverence, reflecting on how God’s glory is evident not only in the heavens but also throughout the earth. This duality reminds us that God’s presence and majesty are all around us, waiting for us to notice and appreciate.

In our fast-paced lives, it can be easy to overlook the wonders of God’s creation. Yet, when we take a moment to pause and reflect, we can find His fingerprints in the world around us. The mountains, the oceans, the stars—all declare His glory.

Today, take a few moments to step outside or look out a window. Observe the beauty around you—whether it’s the sunrise, the rustling leaves, or the intricate patterns of nature. Let these sights remind you of the majesty of God.

Consider how you can honor His name in your daily life. Are there moments when you can express gratitude for His creation? How can you share this wonder with others?

As you go through your day, keep a heart of gratitude and a spirit of wonder. Reflect on the majesty of God’s name and how it resonates in all aspects of life.

“Embrace each day as a new canvas, where your choices create the masterpiece of your life.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the beauty of Your creation and the majesty of Your name. Help me to recognize Your glory in all that I see and encounter. May my life reflect Your greatness, and may I share Your love and wonder with those around me. Amen.
