October 19th 2017 – Don’t Be Late

“Now Israel pleads with me, ‘Help us, for you are our God!’ But it is too late. The people of Israel have rejected what is good, and now their enemies will chase after them.” (Hosea 8:2-3)

Have you ever gone looking for something but were unable to find it? Do you remember how frustrating it was to need something but to not be able to have it? What if that something or someone you needed was the key to a life and death situation? Would you seek more urgently or would you put it off hoping things turn out OK in the end? Sadly, many in our world are faced with the reality of sin and death yet never look to the One who holds the keys to life.

(Isaiah 55:6) “Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.”

Our Heavenly Father stands over us desiring to rescue us from our sin. He made a way for us to be rescued through His Son, Jesus, who died in our place. His death and resurrection created a life raft to safety for anyone who would call on His name. The raft is there, but we must respond before it is too late. If you are reading this and do not know if you’ve responded to God’s offer of rescue and new life, then I encourage you to pray the prayer below. If you have experienced God’s saving power and the hands of rescue through Jesus Christ, then I challenge you to look for others sinking in darkness. Share the life-saving Truth of Jesus with them so that they too can be saved. Its as simple as sending this devotion to someone that God has placed on your heart.

“We should seek the Lord while we can find Him. One day, it will be too late.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I believe You died for me so that I could be forgiven. I believe You were raised from the dead so that I could have new life. I know I’ve done wrong things, and I’m sorry. Please forgive me and give me the power to follow You all the days of my life. In Jesus Name’ Amen.

October 28th 2016 – Having Faith In The End Times

“Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.” (Habakkuk 2:4)

Faith… at its root, “faith” is trusting in God. To have faith is to trust that God is going to do what He says He will do. This is the essence of the Christian walk, and it is part of our salvation and our continued journey with the Lord. The hardest part about faith often comes in the waiting. God has promised us many things, including His return, yet our waiting for that to happen can be difficult. This is why it’s important to trust what God says over what we see around us.

When we look at the world around us, we see corrupt governments, sinful behaviors and the devil wreaking havoc in people’s lives. This has caused us at times to cry out, “Lord Jesus, come,” but as we pray this, we also need to walk in faith. We need to trust that God’s plan is better than ours. He may be allowing the suffering to continue for a little longer so that others may come to salvation through Jesus. The good news is that one day He will return and when He does, all things will be made right and our world will never be the same. This is not a fairy tale, this is reality. Yes, we believe it by faith, but our faith is in the One God who has proven Himself faithful time and time again.

“When Christ returns, the world will be remade, our flesh will be made new and the devil will be destroyed.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the promises in Scripture. Give me the faith to trust in those promises regardless of what I am feeling or what I see in the world around me. I believe with my whole heart that You are God, that Jesus is my Savior and that He will one day return. Give me the power to share this message of hope with all those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 2nd 2016 – What if Tomorrow Never Comes

images-122

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,” (2 Peter 3:10-11)

What if I told you that tomorrow our world was coming to an end? What would become important to you? Would you seek to buy more stuff? Would you spend the time catching up on your favorite TV show? Most likely, you would spend time with those you love or even begin sharing Jesus with anyone you could find.

While it may not be tomorrow (even though it is possible), the bible shares with us that one day everything we know will change. There will be no more money to collect, or a career to build or earth to stand on. The only things that will remain are those things that are eternal. While money may be burned up, when we give money to the Lord now, it changes lives for eternity. On the same note, our careers may not last but when we witness to a co-worker, we have just helped form a relationship that will last forever. God has created us to be eternal beings. Our greatest purpose is to love God and enjoy Him forever. What’s great about that is that we don’t have to wait to fulfill that purpose. As we start loving God and loving others, we begin sowing into eternal things and forever changing our world.

As children of God we should live for the eternal not the temporal.

Prayer:

Dear God, I know that I was not created to simply occupy this world. You have greater things for me to do, things that will last for eternity. Open my eyes to opportunities to share Your love and grace with others so they can know about eternal life. Help me to look past this world so that I am inspired by the next. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Invitation:

Jesus Christ says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20)

The Bible promises eternal life to all who receive Christ: “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:11-13)

If you have not asked Jesus into your lifeYou can receive Jesus Christ right now by faith through prayer.

Prayer is just talking with God. He knows your heart, so don’t worry about getting your words just right. Here is a suggested prayer to guide you:

Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.

If you have done this, then congratulations! (Luke 15:7) says that when one sinner accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Saviour the angels rejoice. So there’s a party going on in heaven right now over your decision! Remember this date as your “second birthday,” the day you were born into a new life in Christ! You have God’s Word that he answered your prayer.

Please take a moment to contact me, I would love to pray with you personally for this wonderful new journey you are on..
