June 27th 2017 – Ready and Waiting

“For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.” (1 Corinthians 11:26)

Have you ever had to wait in line for something you love? Maybe you waited to ride a ferris wheel at the fair or sat in line to be the first at a movie. You may even be someone who loves to get up at 3 am so you can sit outside the store right before a big sale. Whatever the case, we all have experienced anticipation for something we love. You can even say that, as Christians, we are all living lives of expectation as we wait for the coming of our Lord.

(Romans 8:18) “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Just imagine, all the sufferings of this world including the sadness, sickness, pain and death that are all around us will one day be gone. While we wait here on earth and endure the hardships of a fallen world, Jesus Christ prepares our new home and will one day return to take us there. This is not fantasy or a mad man’s dream. These are the very Truths of God and they can be trusted. So no matter how long this line of earth may seem, continue to look up and be reminded that one day He is coming.

“We should always be thinking of and looking forward to the coming of our Lord.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your love and the hope I can have in Jesus. Forgive me of my sins and make me new. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I can share the hope of heaven with everyone I meet. Use me today to change someone’s eternity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

April 21st 2017 – Coming Back Soon!

“then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,” (2 Peter 2:9)

Since Adam and Eve was cast out of Eden for disobeying God’s command. (Genesis 2:16-17) The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”

Ever since, the world has been in a battle of good and evil. We see people do evil deeds and desire to see justice done. Sometimes, we can even get impatient waiting for justice. After all, wouldn’t it be best for God to get rid of all the evil people that commit sin in the world?

Fact is, if He did, then none of us would be here. The reality is that God’s grace is on us all. He is perfect in his justice and will punish those who do evil. However, He is also full of mercy and desires that none should perish. Peter puts it this way…

(2 Peter 3:9) “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

One day, God will return to punish evil, but until then, He is giving evil people time to turn to Him for forgiveness and grace. Because of His patience, men like the apostle Paul went from being a hater of Jesus and His followers to being the greatest missionary to walk the planet. That same change is happening all over our world as people’s hearts are changed by the Gospel.

“God is patient in judgment. He will punish or reward in (His perfect time) Don’t wait until it’s too late!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your grace and for being so patient with me. Father, help me to walk in that grace and to share Your love and mercy with others. In this world of pain, help me to trust in You even when I may not understand all that is happening around me. Please help me share with my friends and family, that have not trusted in You to be their Saviour.  Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you have not asked Jesus into your lifeYou can receive Jesus Christ right now by faith through prayer.

Prayer is just talking with God. He knows your heart, so don’t worry about getting your words just right. Here is a suggested prayer to guide you:

Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen.

If you have done this, then congratulations! (Luke 15:7) says that when one sinner accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Saviour the angels rejoice. So there’s a party going on in heaven right now over your decision! Remember this date as your “second birthday,” the day you were born into a new life in Christ! You have God’s Word that he answered your prayer.

Please take a moment to contact me at roblavallee@gmail.com, I would love to pray with you personally for this wonderful new journey you are on..

February 26th 2017 – Keep Looking Up

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:28)

Each week our world seems to brace for some kind of new disaster. Whether it’s an earthquake, hurricane or economic collapse, we experience regularly the evidence of this fallen world. To the unbeliever, these events bring uncertainty and fear. After all, if this world is all there is and it’s clearly unpredictable and broken, how can they know what to do? Yet to a follower of Christ, we look at these things from a different perspective…a biblical perspective.

Jesus told us that we would have tribulations. The Bible is very clear that because of sin, this world has been corrupted and therefore, we will experience its effects. But that is not the final word. Yes, this world is broken. Yes, we have natural disasters and horrific events like we witnessed on 9-11. Yes, these things will increase as we get closer to the end. BUT, it will end.

When we see these things happen, look up. When you witness the suffering around the world, look up. When you experience the loss of a loved one, look up. When you see people and governments turning against God, look up, because your redemption is near. In the end, Jesus will stop it all. He will make all things right and heal this broken world. Until then, we look up and proclaim to this broken and beat up world the peace they can find in Jesus. Sin caused these problems. Jesus will solve them.

“No matter what the future holds, we can know WHO holds the future.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your grace on my life and the peace I can have through Jesus. Father, help me to trust You in every situation, no matter how hard it may be. Each time I see or experience the pain of this broken world, help me to look up and be reminded of Your return. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

February 5th 2017 – The Secret of Contentment

“Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” (1 Timothy 6:6-7)

In the world today, many believe that acquiring wealth leads to happiness. On the flip-side there are some who believe that only when we live with nothing will we experience true peace. Both of these thoughts are scripturally incorrect because they seek to find fulfillment in things other than Christ. The truth is that true joy can only be found in a relationship with Christ. When we experience His love, His grace and His mercy, we no longer are slaves to our circumstances. Instead, we are free to experience a full life regardless of our bank account or social standing.

(Philippians 4:11-13) “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

Paul had experienced stoning, snake bites, ship wrecks and hatred from people he loved dearly and yet he was able to remain content. How is that possible? It is because he knew Who He was serving and loved Jesus above everything else. When we combine our love for God with an acceptance of His will for our lives above our own, we will find great gain. Stop fighting against what God has planned for you, embrace your situation and use it for the glory of God.

“You cannot have great gain in life without godliness and contentment.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for my life and the circumstances that I find myself in. Good or bad, You are using these things to help me become closer to You. Help me to walk in godliness, seeking You at every turn. Empower me with Your Spirit so that I can be content whether I have a lot or have nothing at all. May I glorify You in all things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

October 11th 2016 – Three Tenths of a Second!

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)

What if you knew that within 24 hours the world was coming to an end? Would it change your perspective on life? Would it change what you did or who you talked to? It may not be something we think about often, but when we take a moment to reflect on these things, it can open our eyes to the shortness of life and God’s imminent return.

(Matthew 24:27) “For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.”

The typical lightning bolt travels at 3,700 miles per second. While it may travel a long distance, this line of electricity is only seen for tenths of a second. According to God’s Word, our Lord will return in the same manner. In three-tenths of a second, our lives will forever be changed. It could be today, it may be years from now but it will happen.

Are you ready? Do you know Jesus as your Savior? If so, are you living for Him? He’s coming quickly. He’s coming in power. He’s coming with rewards. Again I ask, are you really ready?

“We should live ready. We should live knowing that life one day will suddenly, absolutely and radically change.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the Truth of Your return. What a blessing to know that One day You will come to make all things right and to give us new bodies so that we can serve You for eternity. Lord, help me to not wait until then but to begin serving You here. Give me the power through your Holy Spirit to live a steadfast, immovable life of service to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

August 24th 2015 – Jesus is Coming Back Soon

images-99

“But don’t forget this, dear friends. . . . He isn’t really being slow about his promised return, even though it sometimes seems that way. But he is waiting, for the good reason that he is not willing that any should perish, and he is giving more time for sinners to repent.” (2 Peter 3:8,9)

Look around us,  everything is changing so quickly, right before our eyes and at such an alarming rate. If you have ever read the Holy Bible,  it should come as no suprise how this story goes.

Many people are asking, “Where is history heading?” A careful student of the Bible will be led to see that God controls the clock of destiny. Amid the world’s confusion, God’s omnipotent hand moves, working out His unchanging plan and purpose. Jesus Christ is coming to earth again. It is Christ who is in control, and He will determine the outcome.

George Whitefield, a great English evangelist, said, “I am daily waiting for the coming of the Son of God.” But he did not sit down and do nothing. He burned out his life in proclaiming the Gospel of Christ.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, deliver us from slothfulness, keep us  quickened to deliver Your message of salvation to everyone who will listen, until that day we die or You return again. We thank you for Your love and presence,  we praise You for the day when Jesus returns. Amen.
