“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:8-10)
Consider a mound of clay. On its own, it may appear unremarkable—a mere collection of dirt. Its true beauty lies dormant, waiting for the touch of the potter. When the potter begins to work, that unassuming pile transforms. As He skillfully presses and shapes, the clay becomes pliable. With careful precision, the potter removes the excess, revealing what lies within. What started as a formless mass is sculpted into a stunning masterpiece.
“And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.” (Jeremiah 18:4)
Just like that clay, we often find ourselves in a state of disarray. We may attempt to mold our lives, but true transformation comes only from the hands of the Heavenly Potter. When God enters our lives, He begins the delicate process of reshaping us into the likeness of His Son, Jesus. With each firm press of His hand, we are renewed. Each scrape of His tools helps to remove the sin that clings to us. Though this process may bring discomfort, it is a journey worth taking. God knows our needs, and as the perfect potter, His loving hands will sculpt our lives into something far beyond our comprehension. All we must do is surrender to His will.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I confess my resistance to Your transformative touch. I recognize my need for Your molding hands in my life. Please place me on Your potter’s wheel, carve away the sin that hinders me, and shape me into a vessel ready for Your Kingdom’s work. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
