“The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters, and He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake.” (Psalm 23:1-3)
“Even though I walk through the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)
In Psalm 23:1-3, we see how the Shepherd leads, guides, helps, and loves us. However, Psalm 23:4 shifts the focus to our experiences. There will be times when we don’t listen and find ourselves in difficult situations, referred to as “the valley of the shadow of death.”
Have you ever felt lost, wondering, “How did I get here?” Sometimes, it’s because of our own choices or not taking the time to listen to the Shepherd’s voice. We may open doors that should have remained closed.
Even during these tough times, the Great Shepherd does not abandon us. He promises to never leave us or forsake us. This assurance is powerful: “I will fear no evil, for YOU ARE WITH ME!” When we make mistakes, it’s important to own up to them, and He will forgive and restore us.
Even when we stray, our Shepherd uses His mighty rod and staff to guide us back and bring comfort. What security and hope we find in our amazing Jesus!
So take heart: there is no sin too great for the blood of Jesus to cleanse. Rest in His loving arms and feel His heartbeat as you lean on Him. He loves you and will always protect you from anything the enemy tries to bring against you, even when you make mistakes.
“Remember, once you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He will never leave you or abandon you.“
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the blood of Jesus that has made me pure. I am grateful that no matter what challenges I face, or even when I walk through difficult times, You are there to comfort and restore me. What an incredible God I serve. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
