“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34-18)
Life can often lead us through valleys of despair and moments of deep heartache. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the weight of personal struggles, we all encounter seasons that leave us feeling broken. In these times, it’s easy to feel isolated, as if no one understands our pain. However, God’s Word reminds us that He is intimately aware of our struggles and is ever-present in our brokenness.
The Psalmist beautifully captures the heart of God towards those who are hurting. He does not stand far off, but rather draws near to the brokenhearted. This is a profound truth: God understands our pain and offers us comfort. He is not merely a distant observer but a compassionate healer who longs to mend our hearts and restore our hope.
“In these difficult periods, it can be all too easy to succumb to feelings of isolation,“
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being close to me in my moments of brokenness. Help me to feel Your presence in my pain and to trust that You are working all things together for my good. I ask for Your healing touch on my heart and the strength to hold onto hope. May I find solace in Your promises and be a beacon of hope for others who are struggling. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
