August 16th 2023 – Humble Leaders: Kneel and Pray

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.” – Psalm 33:12

Throughout history, the USA has been a land of dreams, where people from all walks of life sought refuge, freedom, and a chance for a better life. The principles upon which this nation was built, rooted in the belief in God-given rights and the pursuit of justice, inspired many around the globe. The USA’s commitment to democracy, equality, and human rights became a shining example for others to follow.

Unfortunately the concept of our Christian values as a nation are now complety misunderstood. Our leadership wants control of everything and everyone, by force if necessary.

We currently live in a time where these types of people will protest in the streets to remove the second ammendment, all in the name of saving children’s lives. Then the following day protest to kill unborn children. They yell, “my body my choice!” which actually directy harms a child’s body. They call others conspiracy theorist for refusing to inject experimental products into their body.

Where voter ID is racist, but force you to show papers to buy a slice of pizza in a restaurant. Talking to children in school about Jesus is indoctrination, but then take children to a stripper drag queen show and allow them to chop off their genitals is inclusive.

As Christian leaders, we are called to a different kind of leadership, one that is rooted in humility, service, and prayer. Today, let us reflect on the importance of leaders getting on their knees and seeking the guidance of our Heavenly Father.

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.” – James 4:10

Leadership, in its truest form, is not about asserting control or seeking personal gain. Instead, it is about serving others, inspiring, and guiding them towards a greater purpose. Christian leadership is a calling to mirror the servant-hearted nature of Jesus Christ, who humbly washed the feet of His disciples and sacrificed His life for our salvation.

To be an effective leader, we must recognize the limitations of our own wisdom and strength. We need divine guidance and discernment to make wise decisions that honor God and benefit those we lead. Prayer is the key that unlocks the door to God’s wisdom, enabling us to lead with compassion, integrity, and love.

When we get on our knees in prayer, we humble ourselves before God, acknowledging our dependency on Him. It is in this humility that we find strength and direction. Our Heavenly Father longs to hear our prayers, to guide us in every decision, and to equip us with His wisdom. As leaders, we have the privilege and responsibility to seek Him earnestly, surrendering our plans, ambitions, and fears at His feet.

Furthermore, prayer cultivates an intimate relationship with God, allowing us to align our hearts and minds with His will. When we spend time in His presence, listening for His voice, we become vessels through which His love, grace, and mercy flow to those we lead. Prayer empowers us to lead by example, showing compassion, empathy, and understanding to those under our care.

As we kneel in prayer, let us also remember to pray for the well-being of those we lead. Their burdens, challenges, and aspirations should be at the forefront of our intercessions. Pray for their spiritual growth, relationships, health, and success. Pray for God’s guidance to lead them in ways that honor Him and bring out the best in each individual.

Remember that your strength lies not in your position or authority, but in your willingness to humble yourself before God and seek His guidance. As you lead, be a beacon of light, reflecting God’s love, grace, and truth in every aspect of your role. May your leadership inspire others to draw closer to Him and experience the transformative power of His presence.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I humbly come before You as a leader in need of Your wisdom and guidance. Help me to lead with humility, compassion, and love. Grant me the strength to seek You earnestly in prayer, that I may align my heart and mind with Your will. May my leadership bring glory to Your name and impact the lives of those I lead.

May we, as individuals and as a nation, strive to embody the values that once made the USA a nation looked up to. May our actions, rooted in God’s love, bring healing, unity, and positive change to our nation and the world.

May you find strength and inspiration as you lead, guided by the power of prayer and the wisdom of our Heavenly Father. God bless you abundantly! In Jesus name, Amen!
