November 30th 2016 – Rock Don’t Roll

“In as much as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold – the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure.” (Daniel 2:45)

 

Over the last three weeks, we have seen and perhaps been a part of the ‘political process’ of listening to and or being persuaded by candidates. This election was filled with lies, slander and hate. Divison and fighting of people in this country.  It is unlike any election we have ever whittnessed.

It’s easy to get caught up in the rhetoric and dialogue and lose sight of who we should really be looking to. That’s Jesus. His kingdom will ultimately come and demolish the other kingdoms in due season. It’s a stone that was cut out of the mountain ‘without hands.’ It’s a work of God and not of a man. We see that the image in Daniel 2:31-33 is top heavy and unstable like all human governments. So why do we let what happens in these earthly kingdoms steal our joy and our peace? The Lord has given us a stone, the rock Jesus Christ that tells us we won’t be shaken if we trust in Him.

(Isaiah 28:16) Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken.”

(Matthew 7:24) “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

“We should build this city on a hill (His Kingdom) on the rock that doesn’t roll. Let’s be the (City on a Hill) once again“

“Make America Great Again, Seek Jesus!”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Please forgive me when I get my eyes off of You and instead focus on the cares and concerns of this world and it’s shaky kingdoms. Help me continue to build my life on Your promises and continue to look for Your return. I know when I trust in You, my life is solid because You won’t allow me to be shaken. Thank you Jesus! In Your name I pray, Amen.

November 29th 2016 – Tears Into Diamonds

“I am weary with my groaning; All night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears.” (Psalms 6:6)

 

How does pain hit us? How do we respond to it? It could come from the death of a precious loved one, the hardship of having someone betray you, continuous struggles or the sin you keep falling into that you hate. Perhaps you’ve had sorrow as King David did and had a child turn against you. Many of us, no matter how tough we are, have experienced pain that brought us to tears. How does God look at you and me during our struggles and when we’re weeping before Him?

(Psalms 56:8)
“You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book?”

Our loving heavenly Father takes distinct note of when we cry. When we cry, we do not keep our tears, but they are captured by the Lord. Have you ever been bothered by seeing your child struggle, getting hurt, and crying? It is even more so with our Father in heaven who sent His Son to intercede with His tears on behalf of our struggles and sins. Jesus sowed tears of sorrow for our sin so that He could give us joy by defeating our sin (Psalm 126:3).

Take heart today by knowing God has taken note of our struggle, our prayer, our tears, and most importantly our sins, and we will ultimately be eternally freed if we have entrusted our life to Him.

(Revelation 21:4)
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

“Our tears will turn to diamonds in His nail scarred hand.”

“Diamonds are just coal that did well under pressure.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for capturing my heart, my sorrows, and my tears. Thank you for paying the ultimate price for my sin so that I can be eternally delivered from the sorrow of my sin and this sin stained world. I have great hope because of You Lord. Thank you for caring for me and remembering me even when I weep. Please keep reminding me that my tears are but for a moment, and you will wipe every tear I ever had away from my face. Please give me Your power to see and walk in Your joy since I know this day is coming. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

November 28th 2016 – What Do You Seek

Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?” (John 1:38)

That’s the question we need to have answered in our lives isn’t it? “What do you seek?” Is it a better marriage, a promotion at work, more money to invest, more notoriety or to see your kids walking with the Lord? Are we seeking the Lord’s hand of blessing more than we are seeking the Lord Himself?

They then asked Jesus where he was staying. He told them to come and see. Where is the Lord in our lives? The Lord is saying to come and hang with Him. We ask where. The cross.

(Luke 9:23-24) Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.”

When we come to Jesus not for His hand of blessing but for His will to be done in our lives, and when we are willing to lay down our life for his sake, then He begins showing us things greater than we could possibly imagine. Later in this chapter, Jesus sees Nathaniel having devotions under the tree…

(John 1:50) Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”

Please prioritize the Lord in your devotional life. Jesus is taking note. He then tells us “You will see greater things than these.” When we lay our life down for His sake, we find that all we ever needed was Jesus.

“You don’t know that Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you have.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, please help me continue to seek You because I want to know You not just what You can give me. Please forgive me when I fail in this. Give me the power of Your Spirit to set my devotion upon You and Your will for me. I thank You Lord because I can trust You’ll do even greater things with my life as I trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

November 27th 2016 – Forsake Foolishness and Live

“Forsake foolishness and live, And go in the way of understanding.” (Proverbs 9:6)

None of us would like to say we are foolish at times. When we think of foolishness, we often dream up images of individuals who are acting in a childish manner or speaking in ignorance. While those may be foolish things, the Bible paints a more direct picture of foolishness. In essence, foolishness equals the rejection of God and His Word. After all, doesn’t (Psalm 14:1) say, “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.'” This is at the root of foolishness.

To believe in God and His Word is the epitome of wisdom. To walk in light of God’s Truth is to experience a life of understanding. This leads to great blessing, and it all starts with our relationship with God. If we understand God and that His word is true, we will understand that we are sinners in need of a great Savior, Jesus Christ. This understanding brings us to faith in Christ which leads us into a relationship with God Himself. Imagine, broken human beings given the honor of being children of the God of all creation. I cannot imagine a greater blessing. And it all started by forsaking foolishness and walking in the way of understanding.

“The abundance of life is summed up by the quality of one’s relationship with the Lord.”

If you have never taken that step of faith, trusting in Jesus for salvation, you can pray this prayer.

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, I believe You died for me so that I could be forgiven. I believe You were raised from the dead so that I could have new life. I know I have done wrong things, and I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Give me the power to follow You all the days of my life. Amen.

November 26th 2016 – Exodus from Slavery and Sin

“Then the king of Egypt made Jehoahaz’s brother Eliakim king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother and carried him off to Egypt.” (2 Chronicles 36:4)

 

Throughout the Bible, we see Egypt presented as a picture of sin. It was a land of great wealth and power, but to Israel, it was a land of captivity and bondage. As Christians, we live in a world that is much like Egypt. The world desires to see us in bondage to its system. Whether you call it the “rat race” or “keeping up with the Joneses”, the world system will only leave you wanting more. We need to get off that road because it’s headed nowhere except over a cliff.

(Philippians 2:5) “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,”

Instead of letting the world dictate our life, we need to let God have control. Let the Word of God go into your eyes, your ears, your brain and your heart so that it will begin changing you from the inside out. Don’t be fooled by the “riches” of Egypt, rather experience the true riches of God.

“Change the way you think, and you change the way you live.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Give me eyes to see and a heart to receive Your Word. Help me to overcome the worldly way of thinking and instead begin thinking like Jesus. I pray that today would be the day that I change my life by walking in obedience to You. Help me to seperate myself from the noise and be still and quiet as Jesus often did. I trust You and am so greatful for all that You do in my life. I Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

November 25th 2016 – When One Door Closes Another Door Opens

The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; so he shall open, and no one shall shut; and he shall shut, and no one shall open.” (Isaiah 22.22)

Our Lord Jesus, is the One who can open doors for us and also close doors for us. What a comfort to know this.  Many times I come to a place of prayer, and I don’t know what to do, what decision to make? I pray this prayer.  “Heavenly Father, You said that You would open doors for me and also close doors for me.  I have this decision to make, and I’m not sure what to do, but my trust is in You.  I am believing that you will open this door if it’s Your will, and also shut this door if it’s not Your will. I thank you for this in Jesus Name”.

In a prayer like this, we put our complete trust in the will of God, which is always the best.  Now, in saying that, we have to accept what God knows is best for us, and that might not always be what we want.  We might want what we just prayed about, but God knows the future and He only wants what He knows will be a blessing for you. It’s not always easy, that’s for sure, but if we could see into the future and see what our loving Father sees, then we would want His will.

The Bible says in (Psalm 37:23) “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way”.  God has my back.  In fact, I want Him to have all of me.  So today, trust Him, as Lord and King of your life, and place yourself into His care and trust. Then, watch your steps line up with His good will for your life.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank You that my steps are ordered by You, and that You Lord will open the good doors for me and shut the bad ones. I trust You and am so greatful for all that You do in my life. I Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

November 24th 2016 -Thanksgiving

“That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all Your wondrous works.” (Psalm 26:7)

At this special time of year, I want you to know that I not only give thanks to God but also you, your prayers, and your support of Scriptural Seeds Ministries throughout the year.

In the 2015 we were proud to share that we were had approximately 4000 views a day and had 261 people confess that they accepted Jesus after reading the Invitation prayer. Hallelujah praise God!

It is my great pleasure to share how God has worked in 2016 through Scriptural Seeds Ministries. Our daily average views has grown to 30,000 daily views. Wednesday and Thursdays reaching 50,000 to 60,000 views spaning 71 countries. We are so pleased to share that as of this morning. 5701 people have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior on this site. Praise God!!!

It is so humbling and emotionally overwhelming to see God at work. I am just a average guy with problems and struggles just like everyone else. I dont have it all together. I slip up at times, but I have learned to be immediately obedient to the Holy Spirit and to God’s word for loving  correction.

However, God is still able to multiply my 3 hours a day that I obediently offer to Him. He gives me the strengh and encouragement in prayer to write everyday, even on the days I am beat down and exhausted from my fulltime job.

We have never received a donation to date. However God still keeps this ministry going. My prayer is that if God can do such great things with only 3 hours a day of my time, that He would provide a way for me to eventually be able to serve Him fulltime at Scriptural Seeds.org

Message:

As a nation, we celebrate Thanksgiving. For just one day.

It is important that as believers we offer up thanks not just one day a year but all the time. We do not offer up thanks to an unknown god but to a God that we know and Who knows us. We have so much to be thankful for – our God, our salvation, our forgiveness, our families, our church and the list goes on and on. Take the time every day to thank God for all the many blessings He has so lovingly given you. While the world may celebrate Thanksgiving once a year, we can and should celebrate it every day.

This has been a wonderful year, God has done so much more then I ever imangined.  Thank you Lord….

“Thanksgiving to God should be an every day thing.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of salvation. Thank You for Your love, grace and mercy. Thank You for my family, my friends and the church. You have given me so much to be thankful for. Lord, help me to overflow with this thanksgiving so that others will see and desire to know You. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

November 23rd 2016 – Don’t be Apathetic

“In the day that you stood on the other side-In the day that strangers carried captive his forces, When foreigners entered his gates And cast lots for Jerusalem–Even you were as one of them.” (Obadiah 1:11)

Apathy, detachment, disinterest, disregard… no matter what you call it, it’s not an option as a follower of Jesus. In the book of Obadiah, God proclaims judgment on Edom because they stood by and watched Israel be destroyed and taken into captivity. They saw their brother in need and did nothing. Contrast this to Jesus who was active in our redemption.

(Philippians 2:7-8) “but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

Jesus intentionally left His throne and the glory of heaven to walk among the pain and suffering of the world. He then purposefully gave up His life so that we could know forgiveness. He could have stayed in heaven, but because of His great love for us and in obedience to the Father, Jesus acted. As followers of Christ, may we be active in loving, caring for and sharing with others. Who knows what a small act of kindness or encouraging word could do to change a life. The world is waiting. Let’s go!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Jesus and His love and obedience. Because of His active role in my redemption, I can know forgiveness and grace. In the same way that You were intentional in the salvation of man, may I be intentional in ministering to those around me. Fill me with Your Spirit and equip me to be a light in this dark world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

November 22nd 2016 – Don’t Run From Hard Work

“Then it was, when the wall was built and I had hung the doors, when the gatekeepers, the singers, and the Levites had been appointed,” (Nehemiah 7:1)

With Nehemiah leading the charge, each Israelite gave, served and worked toward the common good of rebuilding the wall. This was a large task, but it had huge benefits. Unfortunately, the common good in many places has been replaced by the unholy trinity of ‘me, myself and I’. Not what can we do together, but what can the church do for me. If the church doesn’t do for me, no matter how much common good they do, I am outta there. That is selfish and unbiblical.

God never intended for us to run from hard work. Instead, He calls us to do the hard things like loving our enemies, serving those in need and submitting to authority. This is our responsibility in our local churches and in the world at large. We are a people of service and of sacrifice. Let’s follow our Lord, Jesus, and look for opportunities to do the hard things for those around us today!

“We should serve in whatever capacity or door the Lord opens.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thank You for another day to serve You and others. Open up opportunities for me to share Your love in word and in deed. Give me Your eyes to see those in need and equip my hands and feet to act on Your Spirit’s guidance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

November 21st 2016 – Don’t Get Half-Baked

“Were you called while a slave? Do not be concerned about it; but if you can be made free, rather use it. For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord’s freedman. Likewise he who is called while free is Christ’s slave.” (1 Corinthians 7:21-22)

We often think our circumstances in life are our problem. Whether it is our job, friends or family situations, we often think these are the source of our issues. Life can be uncomfortable at times, but, if you are a Christian, God has allowed circumstances in your life because he is forming Himself in you.

God is trying to help you in your circumstances and trials. By allowing you to go through difficult challenges in life, you can grow to be more like Him. Sometimes, trials can be painful. Is there anybody in your life that God is trying to use to remove what does not resemble Him in your life? You are precious to God and He loves you. He wants to grow you through your challenges. As you mature in the Lord, you should ask Him what He wants you to learn through them and allow Him to change you.

Consider a clay pot. The potter forms the clay to create a beautiful masterpiece. Once he forms it, he fires the clay to make it hard and usable for the tasks for which it was created. What if the potter pulled the clay out too soon? It would be half-baked and the clay pot would not be usable. The potter would then have to break the pot, grind the clay, re-wet it, form and fire it again. Life is a lot like this clay pot. Who wants to be a half-baked Christian? When we do not learn a lesson that God is trying to perfect in us, we have to go through it again and again until He forms Himself in us.

(Philippians 1:6) “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”

God has called you to serve Him. He is using your circumstances to free you from the bondage of the shame, guilt and sin that separates you from Him. Whatever is going on in your life–trust Him! God is willing to do whatever it takes to reach you. He wants to set you free.

“Our circumstances are usually not the problem; it is our response or attitude to the circumstances that is the problem.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,Thank You for loving me. Thank You for the opportunity to go through circumstances that form me to be more like You. Lord, You sentenced and punished Yourself for me so I could be forgiven. I thank You that You were willing to pay such a high price for me. I choose to walk in the incredible plans You have for me instead of the plans I have made. Help me to be faithful in the small things by listening to You. You are my hope, my love and my peace. Help me to hear Your voice and to discover my own call and adventure in life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
